Hey, everyone! Okay, so more stories from me again and these are a bit delayed due to Camp Nano but it's for the Kallura week that was held on the Tumblr by the lovely Godest. I am looking forward to write more of these actually but this was for the first day with the prompt 'Sleepover'.

It had been a while since the two of them had been dating – it was odd to think that anyone could find love in the middle of a war and Allura had definitely not expected it from herself. There was a time when she could have never allowed herself to dwell in such thoughts – to take herself away from what always came first, which was her duty. But somehow, Keith made her feel as if she could have both but the question, he had asked her now, even though he had explained himself still made her cheeks flush as she thought about it.

"Would you like to…come to my room tonight?" Keith stuttered out, face red before realising the connotations of his words and quickly explained "Just for a normal sleepover, I mean…nothing else!"

It was cute how flustered he was getting, even though her own cheeks had heated up in a response to him being that way.

Allura giggled. "Keith, please relax. I'd love to have a sleepover with you. I trust you."

And it had been the truth – she did trust him. Even when they had been friends, she had never truly been able to bring herself to hate him, despite her mind screaming at her to whilst her heart pulled her in the opposite direction. And then when Shiro had disappeared, it had brought them even closer – they understood something many others didn't understand when it came to them. Loss. The feeling of losing someone precious – someone close to you and not being able to save them.

Shiro still had not been found – but there was also no proof on whether he was dead or alive as of now, so she knew Keith was stuck in a situation of not knowing what to feel. She just hoped her presence lessened the pain somewhat even if it didn't take it away completely because no one person could replace another.

Still, she arrived in front of his room and knocked. She was wearing her normal nightgown, not sure if she should have dressed up. It was a sleepover, not a date, right? Could it be both somehow? She wasn't sure at this point but as he opened the door, she realised he was in his normal clothes too. Okay, that was good.

"Hey, come on in," Keith said, his cheeks flushing red as well and she stepped inside. The thought crossed her mind to sit on the bed, but would it be appropriate at this point in their relationship? Get a grip, Allura. The two of you were good friends before becoming anything more so maybe normal rules don't apply to your relationship.

Trusting her instincts, she moved to sit on his bed and somehow Keith's face turned even redder as he moved toward her before pausing.

"Are you okay with me closing the door?" Keith asked her seriously, the redness fading from his cheeks as he asked this question.

Allura nodded, but didn't speak right now, waiting until he had closed the door and moved to join her.

"So…why did you invite me here?" Allura asked curiously. Obviously, having given Keith this room in the Castle of Lions, she knew what it looked like but at the same time, she had never stayed in another room or rather never spent the night there.

"I guess…people when they enter relationships, they just…kinda expect things from each other," Keith said softly. "When we became…more than friends…" He blushed now. "When we first kissed after training, the only expectation I had was wanting to be happy…with you. Being with you, it gave me hope. I never thought of giving up looking for Shiro…but being with you makes me feel like one day, we'll actually find him." He went quiet for a moment. "I guess, instead of just expecting it from each other…I wanted us to be able to talk about it first."

Allura did go red now. When she had started dating Keith, Coran had explained to her about sex and protection and all of the things associated with that. It was one of the most awkward conversations she had ever had with him – one she didn't like thinking about, even though she was grateful that he had. It was important to know those things before entering a relationship even with someone as noble as Keith was – but this was something she hadn't seen coming. She did like the idea of it though even if it wasn't the normal thing to do. Screw normal – she was a princess; he was a Paladin, and they were fighting a war side by side.

"I'd like that," Allura said softly. Okay, so they had kissed and held hands, but they hadn't gone any further than that.

The red faded from Keith's cheeks once again and he moved to lay down on the bed, holding out a hand to her.

"Do you want to lay with me?" Keith asked her. The question was a simple one – but it was the simple questions that were the most important sometimes.

Allura, instead of replying, just cuddled up next to him, resting against the side of his chest. This felt nice – they had never been close like this before…sure they had hugged even before their relationship progressed further, but she was certain this was the first time…what did Hunk call it again? Oh, right, cuddling. This was her first time cuddling with Keith.

"I don't want our relationship to be like other people," Keith admitted honestly, stroking her hair gently. "At least what I've seen on Earth. I mean…Shiro and Adam, they seemed happy together, but it felt like they never really talked about things. I want us to be able to talk about things with each other, just like we did when we were friends."

"We are friends, Keith," Allura reminded him gently. "It doesn't matter how our relationship progresses further from that; we will always remain friends."

Keith smiled a bit at that, face flushing again now. "That's…good." His posture which had been a bit tense initially relaxed slightly when she said that. There was silence between them for a moment and she enjoyed the moment for what it was. How had she ended up this lucky? With someone so honest, someone who wanted to put their whole effort into their relationship and wanted to make sure she was comfortable? In so many ways, he reminded her of her father and in other ways, he reminded her of herself as well.

She reached out a hand, cupping his cheek in her hand and he leaned into her touch. He was quiet for a moment too, as if figuring out what he wanted to say next before he placed his own hand over hers.

"You're comfortable with our kisses, with our holding hands and even hugging," Keith said softly, expression quite thoughtful as if there was something he was trying to figure out, but he couldn't quite put his finger onto what it was or at least how he wanted to say it. She had seen that expression on his face many times before, especially since he had become the leader of Voltron – it was when he was trying to figure out the best way to say something.

"Allura?" Keith finally said. "I…I called you to my room tonight, not for what normal people would when they ask their girlfriend to their room but for a sleepover. Just…us…like this sleeping together." His face had become red again and she could tell he hadn't found an easier way to say what he had wanted to say so she laughed a little.

"Are you asking for my permission?" Allura asked softly.

"Kind of," Keith admitted. "I'm asking for your consent…your comfort. Are…are…are you okay sharing my bed with me tonight?" His words were becoming stammers, but she did pause for a moment. She had known Keith long enough to know that if she disagreed, he would pull away and let her go back to her room. Knowing him, he might even guilty despite having no reason to feel as such right now given how considerate he was being.

But was this something she really wanted to say no to? Her and Keith had been dating for three phoebs now and she wasn't uncomfortable to sharing a bed with him especially since it was just sleeping together in the same bed. She relaxed even further against him, leaning her head to rest against Keith's chest.

"Yes, I'm more than happy to sleep with you tonight."
