Episode 18: Incredible Shrinking Mobians!
"Run, Sonic!"
Sonic didn't need his best friend/little brother to tell him twice. He ran as fast as he could while Tails flew just behind him as they were trying to escape from a horde of giant robots that were horrifically impossible to defeat, all armed with shooting missile arms and armor that the blue hedgehog couldn't even put a dent in. Leading the huge robotic army was Robotnik who was piloting another with his obnoxious evil laugh.
"Hurry up, Tails! He's gaining on-AAAHHH!" The hero of Mobius cut himself off with a scream of panic as he looked up ahead, only to find six more giant robots blocking their path. He skid to a stop while the two-tailed fox, who also screamed in horror, slowed to a stop and was forced to land.
"No! We're trapped!" Tails cried out in dismay.
"This is bad!" Sonic exclaimed, as for the first time in his entire life, he was absolutely terrified. Not even his skills could defeat these robots. They were soon completely surrounded and he and his companion turned around to glare at their enemy who towered over them.
"There's no escaping this time, Sonic! You and your little two-tailed brat sidekick are ancient history!" Robotnik declared, grinning wickedly.
"You won't get away with this, Eggman!" The fourteen year old snarled, attempting to mask his fear as he clutched his fists.
"Sonic..." The seven year old cub muttered, shaking with fear.
Sonic turned to his best friend, before pulling him into a protective and tightening hug which his little brother returned. "I'm sorry, Tails. It's all my fault..."
"Sonic..." Tails repeated, nuzzling his face into his best friend/big brother's chest.
"Hasta la bye bye, hedgehog!" Robotnik declared darkly as he and his robots were closing in to grab or kill the two young brothers.
Overwhelmed with fear and panic, Sonic and Tails both squeezed their eyes shut as they screamed.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic screamed aloud.
"SONIC!...Wake up!" Tails screamed out, though the last part of his sentence made the blue hedgehog slightly confused...
"Sonic, wake up!"
Gasping sharply as he jolted awake, Sonic sat up in the bed of the guest room he'd been sleeping in since it had been raining heavily all day yesterday as two weeks passed since his kidnapping by the Chaotix who had now become more allies. The blue hedgehog panted as he had just woken up from a terrifying nightmare, looking around blinking, his heart pounding profusely in his chest.
"It's okay. You were just having a bad dream." Tails, who had been standing by the left side of his old brother's bed, reassured as he had been worried about the blue hedgehog.
Realizing that he had just been dreaming, Sonic sighed in a huge relief but still pretty shaken. He placed a hand onto his head as he spoke out, still terrified. "I thought Eggman was gonna get us for sure this time, Tails! He had completely surrounded us with unbeatable giant robots."
"It was just a dream, Sonic." The two-tailed fox gently told the hero of Mobius to comfort him. Though if he had a nightmare involving Robotnik, and he has had them a few times before, Tails would be pretty terrified too. "Let's go have breakfast and you can forget all about it."
"'Kay..." Sonic nodded, still trying to calm down from one of his worst nightmares. To make things complicated, he knew what was the cause of them and as his little brother walked out of the guest room, the blue hedgehog grumbled. "Easy for you to say."
Because he wouldn't be forgetting about it anytime soon.
A few minutes later, the two Mobians joined their friends at the dining table having breakfast of porriage and honey. Unfortunately, Sonic's appetite was ruined due to thinking about his dream which distruped his sleep for days, for nearly a week even. Tails, Cream, and Cheese were politely and happily eating as was Amy, while Chuck was reading a Newspaper.
"I can't wait to go to the toy store today." Chris said excitedly, while playing with his toy blue airplane before turning to his grandfather. "Can we go after we eat, Grandpa? Those Robonicles are so cool!"
The Robonicles were the new toy line which as a lot of kids in Station Square very excited about, but for Sonic, they reminded him too much of Robotnik's creations and since five days ago, he hasn't had single decent night of sleep. The blue hedgehog groaned in dismay while placing his chin onto the edge of the table.
Amy, Cream and Cheese all noticed and looked on at the hero of Mobius worriedly.
"Are you okay, Sonic?" Amy asked in concern. "You don't look so good."
"Did you have another bad dream, Mr. Sonic?" Cream asked softly in deep concern.
"Chao Chao?" Cheese squeaked, just as worried for his blue Mobian friend.
"I'm okay. It's just that..." Sonic sighed, groaning once again as he tried to get his mind off of his bad dreams. "Chris has been talking about those Robonicles so much lately, it's giving me nightmares."
"Aww...Poor Mr. Sonic." The five year old girl murmured, sympathetically.
While all of Sonic's younger friends were sympathizing with their heroic hero, the elder Thorndyke was about to answer his grandson when he saw something in the Headlines and exclaimed in amazement, getting the youngsters' attentions. "Oh my heavens!"
"What is it, Chuck?" Tails asked, curiously, while Sonic just looked on with a dismayed and spooked expression.
"It says here, "A scientist named Alexander Pell has theorized that you can travel more easily on a sub-atomic level Pell has created a warp ray to prove his theory, and his experiments take place today."" The kindly scientist read aloud.
That got the children's attentions as even Sonic sat up in interest, finally taking his mind off of his nightmares while Chuck continued reading to find out more. "Ah, here we go..."Pell came up with the original idea in collage when working with his old lab partner, Chuck Thorndyke.""
"That's you, Grandpa!" Chris and Cream both exclaimed in awe.
"Chao!" Cheese chirped, amazed.
"Do you know him, Chuck?" Tails asked, curiously interested.
"I sure do. Pell was my room mate at Station Square University years ago." Chuck nodded, remembering fondly of his old time friend and fellow student. "What a bright young man he was. We'd come up with the theory long ago, but we couldn't figure out just how to make the warp ray emitter small enough to be practical. The article goes on to say that Pell used nano-technology to make a handheld device that could work."
He then asked himself thoughtfully. "But where did he get the Rubinite to power it?"
The group blinked in confusion, as Sonic asked, dumbfounded. "Rew-be-what? Did you say "Rubinite"?"
"What's a...Ru-bi-nite?" Cream asked, while also testing the new word slowly.
"It's an extremely rare mineral. In fact, we thought there was none left in the whole world." Chuck explained, before he placed his fingers onto his chin. "He must have found more somewhere..."
Chris looked at the newspaper curiously, before he blinked in surprise as an idea formed. "Hey, his lab is really close to the toy store. Maybe we could visit?"
As everyone else began to agree with seeing what this Warp Ray could do, Sonic on the other hand had an inkling feeling that samething bad was about to happen. Then again, at least it would slightly delay the visit to the toy store, but the sooner they would buy those ridiculously horrible Robonicles, the sooner the blue hedgehog's nightmares would finally end.
What they didn't know was that his nightmares might soon become a reality.
Meanwhile, in Robotnik's Egg Fortress flying over the ocean, the evil scientist was once again in a foul mood, not to mention impatient for a slightly different reason...which if one didn't take him seriously, they would find this to be just a little too ridiculous.
"Where are my toys!?" Robotnik shouted in fury, attempting to locate his 'toys' like a small little spoiled boy.
Much to the confusion of Decoe and Bocoe, with the latter asking. "Aren't you a little old for toys?"
"No, you imbecile! I used them for robot designs! The Robonicles looked perfect for destruction more than for little kids to play with! Who would blame me? They look cool!" The evil scientist shouted, causing his two robot minions to recoil in fear yet again.
As Robotnik ranted on, the screen on the monitor then fizzed on before it revealed the commercial of the Robonicles which were a huge success before the news came on.
"Look! There is a sale on Robonicles! And there's that brilliant inventor they keep on showing on tv today!" Decoe pointed.
"What!?" Robotnik grunted, growling as Scarlet Garcia appeared reporting the latest news.
"Who says "Bigger is better"? If today's experiment from the labortory of Dr. Alaxander Pell are successful, we may be able to travel far more easily at the sub-atomic level." Scarlet reported.
Hearing this made Robotnik begin to form another evil plan as he grinned thoughtfully. "He's going to experiment today! If we can get that warp ray from him..." He then cut himself off as he remembered what Decoe said and whirled at him, snapping while feeling insulted. "Brilliant!?"
How dare his own creation call some lower-scientific loser than him brilliant!? He was the only true brilliant scientist on the planet, and his twisted brother Julius being second despite him being far more deadly than anybody being on Mobius.
Well, Robotnik did know another guy who was just as dangerous that tried to kill him eight years ago, but that was another story(1).
Deciding to forget about his annoyance, Robotnik then chuckled as continued in forming his new evil plot. "Well, yes, it is a good idea. I'm glad I thought of it! We will steal that wonderful device and show him who's brilliant! Then even Sonic's speed won't be able to stop me! Once I shrink that hedgehog to the size of a bug, we'll squash him flat!"
"What about the toys?" The two robots asked.
"We'll steal those when we steal that warp ray!" Robotnik answered, pointing at the three large robots that were about fifteen feet tail with seats inside the glass domes, before ordering. "Now quickly, into the mecha suits!"
"Hooary!" Decoe exclaimed happily. "I love one-stop shopping! Yeah!"
"So do I!" Bocoe agreed. "Imagine all of the cool things we can get!"
Their evil creator grinned with a chuckle. "Except when I shop, I won't pay a dime!"
Unfortunately, like all of his plans, it was going to be a complete disaster.
Around an hour later after breakfast, Sonic and his friends headed towards Dr. Pell's lab full of various inventions and a really big fan in the middle of the room. Standing before them was a man close to Chuck's age having tan skin with short black hair and was wearing glasses, a lab coat, blue shirt and black pants with shoes. He was holding a small remote of sorts with an antenna.
This was Professor Alexander Pell.
"I can't believe you found some Rubinite, Alex!" Chuck greeted as he and his old friend shook hands.
"And I never thought I'd see you again." Pell greeted with a chuckle, before gazing at the young group who stood by and added. "Much less see you with Sonic the Hedgehog. I thought about you both while creating this final prototype."
"Well...We're happy to help a pal of Chuck's." Sonic shrugged, feeling more than a little uneasy about this whole thing. As Chuck explained to him and the others about sub-atomic and that the device was actually to, theoretically, shrink people down to size, he wasn't really comfortable with this whole idea.
What if it wouldn't work or there wasn't a way to turn back to normal? Or worse, the blue hedgehog had a terrible thought of being held by Amy and Cream and played like a little doll for the latter's doll house. Still, he had to put his trust in Pell to get this right and grow people back to normal.
"Let's test this baby out so Chris and Cream can go to the toy store." The blue hedgehog decided, mentally shaking those horrific thoughts away.
Nodding in agreement and deciding to try it out on an object first before trying on living people, Pell aimed his Warp Ray at the large fan. "Here we go..."
But just as he pushed the button to test it out, suddenly they all heard a loud crash sound which forced the group to spin around and all gasped in shock to see three large mech suits with Dr. Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe all piloting them, crushing through the ceiling and one of the broken pieces of concrete was accidentally flown straight towards Pell's device, hitting it and causing him to stumble back while unknowingly aiming it straight at not just the evil villain or his robots...but also Sonic and Tails!
"It's Eggman again!" Sonic, Tails, Chris and Amy all chorused in unison.
"Get them!" Robotnik ordered. "And bring me that Warp Ra-HUH!?"
Too late as he and soon everybody else noticed, the Warp Ray's beam opened fire and soon engulfed Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe who were hit and they all screamed, with Chris and Amy both screaming out the two friends' names, and Cream and Cheese were horrified along with Chuck and Pell who both gasped. The force of the impact combined with the attack made everyone fall over, and to make things worse, the hit five were shocking shrinking smaller and smaller until they stopped.
When Sonic and Tails hesitantly opened their eyes, finding they were seemingly okay, the former asked his younger brother in concern. "You alright, Tails?"
"I-I think...AHHH! OH NO!" Tails screamed out when he looked up, and saw something behind Sonic and it wasn't just Robotnik's group or their mecha suits close to them.
"W-what is it?" The blue hedgehog asked, hesitantly.
The two-tailed fox shakily pointed which made the hero of Mobius turn around nervously and the teenage Mobian gasped in absolute horror when he saw not only their enemies that seemed to be normal size to them, but everything, and everybody else...were all giants! The lab was huge, a horrified Chris was gigantic as he sat up and looked equally shocked to see his shrunken friends along with his grandfather, Pell, Amy, Cream and Cheese whose eyes all widened to see how small the blue hedgehog, the two-tailed fox, the evil scientist and his robots now were.
"Oh man...We've been..." Sonic began, turning pale as he began to panic and quickly began to pray that he was having yet another nightmare. "We've been shrunk!"
Robotnik and his robots in the meantime all groaned until they saw the same thing and despite that their mecha suits were still bigger than the two shrunken Mobians, when they saw that everybody else and the entire room were enormous to them, and they too all screamed in pure horror and dismay.
"OH NO! I plotted in shrinking Sonic, but now we've shrank down to size as well!" Robotnik exclaimed in horror, placing his hands onto his head. He then growled and declared. "New plan! Finish off that meddling hedgehog once and for all! Decoe, Bocoe! Attack!"
Despite complaining about being small like little toys, the two stupid robots complied and made to recover as they and their creator made to advance on Sonic and Tails who took a couple steps back, knowing that they were in big trouble while stuck being the size of miniture toys.
"Oh, just great. Why couldn't they get shrunk down by themselves!?" Sonic grunted in dismay as he glared at his and the frightened Tails' advancing enemies.
"What do we do, Sonic?" Tails cried out in dismay.
"RUN!" Sonic exclaimed as their horrified friends attempted to reach out for the duo to save them from Robotnik.
But before anybody could do anything, the electricity around the room began to slightly circuit and the big fan turned itself on to full blast which had everyone to brace themselves. The force of the gusts as so strong that not only was Cheese being blown away, much to Cream's dismay as she tried to reach out for him, but also Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe who all screamed as they were carried by the winds as though they were caught in a tornado. They were flown right out of the open window and the winds outside just made things worse, carrying the shrunken Mobians, the evil trio and the little Chao across the street.
They ended up flying straight into the opened doors of the Toy Store as Amy, Cream and Chris hurried to the window and gasped in shock to see their two shrunken friends and Cheese along with Robotnik and his robots land inside. The the trio cringe when they saw the evil group crash and end up having piles of toys land on top of them...and softer toys land onto Sonic and Tails who cried out in alarm no long after landing onto a big fluffy teddy bear.
"Oooh...! That's going to leave a mark." Amy winced.
"This is really bad." Chris murmured worriedly.
"I hope Cheese, Mr. Sonic and Mr. Tails are okay...What do we do?" Cream asked, beginning to tear up as she feared for her friends' safeties.
"We gotta get down there and help Sonic, Tails and Cheese!" Amy cried out hysterically, knowing that their friends were in much bigger and grave danger.
Just near the entrance of the Toy Store with many toys having pilled up onto Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe, luckily their mecha suits managed to save them from being squashed flat. Using their suits, they managed to emerge from the pile of now broken plastic toys and looked around, seeing their predicument.
"I'd say that would be the end of Sonic, but I'm not getting my hopes up. That little brat is harder to squash than a cockcroach." The evil scientist growled, beginning to dig into the pile to see if his young enemies were still within there.
Behind them, Decoe and Bocoe, noticing toy punchers of the Robonicles, replaced their mecha suits' arms for the punching box-gloved arms of the toys to make more interesting.
"Hey, Boss, why don't we have these?" Bocoe asked, curiously.
"Ooh! That's fabulous!" Decoe beamed in awe, putting on the green and yellow arms on his suit. "Do they come in other colours?"
Hearing this and seeing what they were doing, Robotnik spun around and snapped childishly. "Stop goofing off! This isn't a fashion show!"
"Do you think this colour will make me look fat?" The yellow robot asked, holding up a green plastic arm, only for the evil scientist to smack it away.
"Get in there and find that hedgehog!" He ordered impatiently.
Yet what the evil trio didn't realize was that Sonic and Tails, buried a little bit further away from where their enemies are and now nervous for being the sizes of toys, were slowly and silently trying to escape themselves. The hero of Mobius climbed out of the pile before he pulled at his little brother's arms to yank him out.
"Come on, we have to get back to the lab and see if Professor Pell can bring us back to life size!" Sonic urgently whispered.
"And since everything is so big for us, we'd better be careful in not being mistaken for toys and spend the rest of our lives like this." Tails responded in a whisper.
"Another reason why we need to get back and go home. I don't know about you, but I don't wanan spend the rest of my life as a toy." Sonic replied. "Now, hurry up! We'll have to find another way out!
Tails nodded in agreement and hurried to find another exit to avoid their enemies and pretty much everybody else from seeing them while attempting to avoid in scaring actual costumers. As Sonic ran and the two-tailed fox flew, they had thought about going to this place before, but not like this. They raced as fast as they could while fearing that they would actually get caught. Eventually as they passed by many isles, Sonic noticed one and smirked, having an idea.
"Over there!" He instructed, pulling his best friend to the left.
Moments later, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe marched onward to find their missing targets, pausing at the very same spot Sonic and Tails were earlier but didn't see where they went to.
"You two go that way, I'll go this way!" The evil scientist ordered, taking to a right while his minions took to the left. But as he did, a huge looming shadow covered him which made Robotnik freeze in his tracks. Suddenly nervous and feeling a presence getting very uncomfortably close, he looked up and nearly screamed when he saw a little boy, or uh, a 'giant' six year old boy from his perspective, reach out to him.
"GAH!" Robotnik screamed, just as he was picked up by the child with both hands. He screamed loudly in fear as he held on for dear life.
"Look, mommy! A Robonicle! Can I take it home? Please, please, please, please, please!" The boy asked excitedly to his mother, shaking the suit with the screaming Robotnik inside and obviously having mistook the mecha suit for one of the Robonicle toys.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHH! Put me down, you brat! I'm not a Robonicle!" The evil scientist demanded angrily and in fear of being taken home to spend the rest of his life as the kid's play thing. Which would be the most humiliating way to go.
Fortunately, his mother saw this and, seeing the mad doctor inside and hearing the shrunken man cry out, she screamed hysterically and so loudly that Robotnik was forced to cover his ears.
"That toy can talk! It's a living toy! Let's go!" The terrified mother, also mistaking the man as a toy, smacked the mecha down to the ground which hit the floor hard and Robotnik grunting in pain, before she snatched her son's arm and ran away, screaming. "HELP! It's the real living curse of Horror of Toys! The Evil Doll Master is out to get us!"
Once the mother and son had run off, Robotnik was left in a crippled position as he groaned, rubbing the back of his head. "I hate being small. The sooner I get rid of Sonic, the sooner I can use that Warp Ray to return to my normal size and never go through this aga-Hm? What's this?"
He cut himself off when he saw something that caught his interest in the isle he was in. As he did, an wicked smirk grew on his ugly face, another plan forming in his mind.
Meanwhile, Decoe and Bocoe were searching through the left isle filled with small stuffed animal toys, including a shelf that were the merchandise of Sonic, Tails and even Amy and Knuckles and other cute animals. Though some of the designs were very questionable and creepy.
"Just wait 'til I find that Sonic. This new missile arm is gonna K.O him for sure!" Bocoe declared with determination, still blabbering on about his 'new weapon'.
"Not if I see him first!" Decoe argued, wanting to get the first hit on the blue hedgehog.
"Sonic is no match for us with these weapons! Where is that little blue blur, anyway?" The grey robot wondered as they both passed a shelf filled with the stuffed animals.
Unaware that the real Sonic and Tails were among the toys, having cleverly remained still and pretended to be toys since they were the same size as the stuffed animals at the moment. Once the two dumbots walked away and headed the right, the two Mobians sighed in relief and dropped their 'disguises'.
"Those two couldn't hit the side of a swimming pool if they were standing on the diving board." Sonic snickered softly, smirking at just how stupid the robots were.
While Tails was in agreement, he noticed a stuffed toy version of himself but didn't recognize it, as it had an angry look with sharp teeth, making him cringe with a whisper. "What kid would want that? It gives me the creeps!"
The blue hedgehog noticed and, seeing the two tails on the toy, shrugged while pointing out. "It's supposed to be you." Though he did agree that it was a little creepy.
It made Sonic annoyed that whoever designed these toys thought wrong about his sweet, kind, intelligent and super cute best friend/little brother who was nothing like the Tails-Toy.
"Me!? What!?" The real Tails softly exclaimed, feeling insulted.
"Forget that. We're in the clear. Let's go." The blue hedgehog stood up, narrowing his eyes as they still had to escape and get back to normal while gently moving one of the toys in front further front to get some room.
"Sonic, wait! Look!" The seven year old fox softly exclaimed, pointing up ahead.
"Huh?" Blinking, Sonic looked up and gasped when he saw a little girl about the same age as Cream, and her mother beginning to approach them. He gulped nervously with a sweat drop. "Uh-oh!"
Panicking and thinking quickly, the two Mobians returned to their disguised position and remained still, hoping against hope that the little girl wouldn't go out and buy them. Just in case and before the two 'giant' humans could see them actually move, Sonic and Tails both moved stuffed toy replicas of themselves in front of them along with other toys to cover their presence. Unfortunately, as the little girl giggled, she moved some of the toys to pick out which ones she would like and smiled upon seeing the two boys, believing they were stuffed animals.
"Look mommy! That toy Tails looks so cute! Better than these ones! And that Sonic toy looks super cool!" The little girl beamed happily, with her mother agreeing as she took didn't notice.
"You're right, sweetie. They even look so life-like. Nothing like the rest of these toys." The mother smiled in agreement.
The child giggled, before reaching out and to the horror of the real Mobians as they tried not to blow their cover or even move, she reached out while grabbing Tails by the torso and picked him up, causing the little shrunken fox to scream in his mind.
'SONIC!' Tails thought helplessly as he was held captive.
'TAILS, NO!' Sonic thought frantically as he could only watch helplessly while his little brother was about to be bought and taken home by the girl to spend the rest of his life as a child's plaything. At that moment he wanted to move, he wanted to get up and save his best friend.
"Can I buy them? Please, Mommy? Pleeeeeeaassse?" The little girl begged, while hugging and squeezing Tails who tried not to whimper or squeeze his eyes shut.
"Well, alright. But just these two, because they are quite expensive for toys. I mean, what a ridiculous price." Her mother obliged, and reached out to grab Sonic next who mentally gasped, seeing that he was about to be mistakenly bought as well.
'AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!' The blue hedgehog screamed in his mind. 'I'm next!'
But as the mother grabbed him with her fingers wrapped around his waist and torso, unlike her daughter who was happily playing with Tails, she noticed something odd with this Sonic 'toy' while she pulled him close to her face. He began to sweat nervously while trying to remain still, his heart hammering in his chest as the fear of being bought like a toy was almost as bad as his constant nightmares he had for a whole week.
"That's strange. This one feels so solid yet soft, yet he doesn't feel all stuffy. I wonder if this is a prototype?" The human mother wondered aloud, running her finger on Sonic's head...before she went to poke him in the stomach and gently rubbed his belly.
That's when Sonic couldn't hold back anymore and he ended up laughing while being unintentionally tickled. "Heheheheheheh! AH HA HA HA HA HA HA! S-Stop! Please, stop! I-I'm ticklish!"
The reason he got was the mother freezing in her tracks, before she screamed loudly upon seeing and hearing this. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! It's alive!"
She ended up dropping Sonic who yelped and screamed before hitting the floor hard and grunted 'OW!' before the mother grabbed her daughter who, wondering what was wrong with her mother, ended up dropping her supposed to be new 'Tails toy' as the two-tailed fox yelped and hit the floor as well.
"Wait, Mommy! What about my toys!?" The little girl asked, shocked, confused and disappointed.
"We're going home, sweetie! This place is dangerous! It's filled with real talking toys!" Her mother frantically cried out, running away with her daughter in her arms.
Now freed but still in danger while sighing in relief, Sonic hurried over to Tails and helped him up, asking worriedly. "Tails, are you alright!?"
"Y-yeah. Just shaken. Boy that was a close one." The seven year old fox cub muttered, and hugged his big brother who wrapped his arms around him in a protective embrace.
"Oh man...What a relief. I was afraid I was gonna lose ya', little buddy." The hero of Mobius murmured, gently rubbing the back of the young kit's head.
"Me too. I wanna turn back to normal and go home." The shaken two-tailed fox sniffled, nuzzing his head against the blue hedgehog's chest.
"Shhhh...We'll be home soon, buddy. I promise we will. I'm here...It's gonna be okay." Sonic whispered comfortingly, gently swaying his little brother side to side.
The two stayed like this for a little bit longer, until they noticed more footsteps coming straight towards them and when they looked over Sonic's shoulder, they heard male adult voices making mutterings about 'living talking toys' and 'what were the crazy ladies screaming about?' as they got closer and closer. Making the two Mobians realize it was the employees of the Toy Store coming to investigate.
"Run!" Sonic softly exclaimed as he lead Tails away to avoid in being seen by more of the 'giant' people. Or worse, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe. Unaware that Cheese, having also been blown over, was lying on top of the shelf the two brothers were hiding in, unconscious in a daze with swirls spinning in his eyes.
The little Chao then shook his head and blinked in confusion, looking around as he wondered where he was. Standing up and seeing that he was in the Toy Story, Cheese squeaked in amazement before hovering about to see more, only to notice people looking all panicked and when he looked down, he saw two familiar blurs of blue and yellow racing away further into the store and getting more lost.
"Chao!" Cheese squeaked in alarm, realizing it was the shrunken Sonic and Tails. Realizing that his two friends were in danger of being found and captured by these humans, and potentially mistaken for toys, and that Robotnik and his robots were still after them, the small Chao then flew to catch up to the Mobians and hoping to save them before it was too late.
Back in the lab, Amy, Chris and Cream were frantically worried about Sonic, Tails and Cheese who were all still trapped in the Toy Store, while the two adult scientists were attempting to fix up this mess that Robotnik has made.
"...Enough to Rubinite to conduct a few experiments, but ultimately, I'll need another power souch to make this a viable research tool." Pell finished explaining to his old friend.
"Where did you find it? I thought there wasn't any left on-"
"Can we talk science junk later?" Chris interrupted his grandfather hysterically. "We need to help Sonic, Tails and Cheese!"
"You're right, my boy!" Chuck instantly agreed, knowing that time was running out for the two Mobian children and the little Chao...Well, at the moment, Cheese was bigger than Sonic and Tails...and in hindsight, Dr. Robotnik and his dumbots. "Pell, let me see that warp way emitter!"
"I'm afraid it'll take hours to repair this." Pell apologetically sighed, much to the dismay of everyone else in the room.
"Hours!?" Amy nearly screamed in dismay. "We don't have hours! We have to help Sonic, Tails and Cheese now!"
"They could be hurt by Dr. Robotnik! Or the Iron Empire could be looking for them!" Cream added, gazing out of the window gravely as she began to tear up, worried for her three close friends' safeties. "I hope they're okay...!"
Seeing the little girl about to cry and knowing that Amy was right, the elder Thorndyke took the device and examined it thoughtfully in his right hand. "I think I have an idea that might get this back online in no time."
"Hurry!" Amy pleaded, as she joined Cream by the window. "They might be hurt already!"
As the two girls gazed through the window at the Toy Store, the five year old rabbit could only murmur in deep concern. "I sure hope they're okay..."
Back in the Toy Store, Sonic and Tails were still attempting to find another way out while attempting to avoid their enemies. Hearing Decoe and Bocoe close by, the two brothers increased their speed while realizing that they needed a new hiding place and this time avoiding in being mistaken for toys without being bought and taken home for children to play with them for the rest of their lives.
"Split up! They can't chase us both! I'll meet you at the back of the store!" Sonic instructed, and while he didn't want to separate from Tails at the moment after the scare they had earlier, the blue hedgehog knew they were in a really bad situation.
He even couldn't stop thinking that this was leading into his worst nightmares he had for weeks coming true. This event did even resemble to it now that he thought about it.
"Okay, Sonic!" Tails reluctantly agreed, and the two quickly split into opposite directions. The two-tailed fox looked around frantically until he noticed something pink to his left and saw that it was the girl toys section. "Wow! Look at all that pink!"
Deciding that it was decent place to hide while noticing a doll's house fit for his current size, the seven year old quickly flew over. He flew straight towards the small house before quickly hiding inside. It was so big to him it was like entering an a normal sized home. Tails leaned against the wall and tried to remain silent, trying not to be really scared and remained silent. He became nervous when he heard Decoe and Bocoe, unaware of him being this way yet were getting dangerously close, and having narrowly avoided in being accidentally bought like toys themselves, were approaching the doll house by running away.
"I never thought we would be running away from kids who would mistake us for toys!" Decoe exclaimed in a panic.
"Our only saving grace is their mothers and fathers mistaking us for living evil toys or something!" Bocoe remarked nervously. "They may have watched too much of those silly Toy Story movies or something!"
Eventually the duo managed to avoid in being seen by the children and finally slowed to a stop and sighed in relief. "That was a close one."
"Let's get back to finding Sonic and Tails and destroy them." The yellow robot suggested.
"Good idea." The grey robot nodded in agreement.
The two robots then crept closer to the doll house, still unaware of Tails hiding inside as the very nervous two-tailed fox cub tried not to make a single sound that would get him caught.
"Where could they be?" Bocoe asked as he and Decoe marched forward, too close to the doll house.
"They must be here somewhere." The yellow robot murmured.
Tails was becoming more and more frightened, worried that he could be spotted. While he remained silent, the two dumbots then noticed something sitting in a doll tea set and saw a beautiful girl doll made of plastic with fake blonde hair, made of plastic while wearing a white dress and summer hat. Needless to say, despite being robots, their felt their inner parts flare up as their eyes sparkled at the beautiful toy, believing her to be a female robot made just for one of them.
"Such beauty..." Bocoe murmured, smitten.
"Look at her lovely eyes..." Decoe sighed.
Yet as he tried to get to the doll, his shorter companion quickly stopped him and the two quickly went into an all-out wrestling war for the doll's affections.
"I saw her first! It's obvious she's in love with me!" The grey robot snapped, attempting to shove his companion back to claim his love first.
"No, you didn't! And she's looking at me with those big blue eyes! She's dreamy!" Decoe argued, wanting to get to his future 'girlfriend' for himself.
'What are those two dummies talking about?' The two-tailed fox thought to himself, dumbfounded. He then sweat dropped nervously. 'I hope Amy isn't out there...!'
Then again, if she was, then maybe she can squash the two robots flat so that he can get to her and then find Sonic to return to the lab. Though that didn't seem to be very likely at this stage.
"Let go! She's going to be my girlfriend!" Bocoe shouted.
"You let go!" Decoe yelled back. "I think I'm in love with her!"
Curiosity getting the better of him, Tails silently peeked through the window to see the two stupid robots fighting each other in their mecha suits ranting about falling in love, but saw no Amy or any other girl...Except when he saw the girl doll sitting lifelessly, he mentally groaned as he realized what the main issue was.
"Sheesh...! Now I've seen everything." The seven year old cub softly deadpanned to himself, unable to believe that the two robots were fighting over a toy that showed no interest in them...or anything else. He's heard of a love triangle but this is ridiculous!
Just then he leaned forward a little too much and the house made a bit a creak, much to his horror, causing Tails to gulp nervously before quickly diving back into the house, hoping against hope that the robots wouldn't find him. Either way, he instantly knew that he was trapped.
Meanwhile, Sonic went over to another isle of toys and spotted something that made him smirk. "That should do nicely!"
Racing over to the isle, the blue hedgehog saw at the bottom shelf row were tons of Slinkies looking ordinary and decided that it was perfect for him without anybody seeing him or mistaking the hero of Mobius for a toy.
"Yep. That should do nicely. Now, what ca-"
Unfortunately, before Sonic could finish his sentence or even attempt to lift one of the slinkies to hide, he felt the ground shake which made him gasp softly in alarm as it felt like a tremor. Sensing a presence and fearing for the worst, the fourteen year old spun around and his eyes widened in shock to find Robotnik, not only inside his mecha suit, but now the evil scientist had it riding in a toy tank, armed with fake but still dangerous missiles!
'Uh oh!' Sonic sweat dropped nervously, knowing that he was in real big trouble now. Yet he masked his fear with an irritated glare.
"This twin turbo super-diesel powered Truckzilla may not be faster than you, Sonic, but it can go anywhere and run over anything...including hedgehogs!" Robotnik declared, grinning wickedly. "Don't borther to run away, Sonic. Let's just get this over with now so I can go back to taking over the world!"
"...No way!" Sonic snapped, and instantly ran despite that he could easily fight these, but he didn't want to take his chances in wrecking the Toy Store than it already was and people were panicking enough as they were.
Robotnik growled before quickly giving chase to kill the blue hedgehog once and for all.
Back at the lab, Chuck and Pell were both thankfully making progress in fixing up the Warp Ray and have finally finished it, while Chris, Amy and Cream continued to worry about their missing friends.
All the while, the five year old girl continued to gaze out of the window, hoping against hope that Sonic, Tails and Cheese would be alright.
"This diode should give this just enough juice for one fine second burst." Pell remarked, turning to his old time friend in amazement. "You always were a genius, Thorndyke. We never should have split our partnership."
Chuck just laughed sheepishly. "Well, you always did bring out the best in me. I don't know wha-"
"Yeah, yeah. You two are just great!" Amy interrupted impatiently as she stormed over before snatching the device from Pell. "Gimme that thingy to save the hero."
The two men just sweat dropped in embarrassment before sharing a glance and shrugged, deciding to congratulate each other later, while Chris urgently told them. "Come on! We might already be too late!"
"We have to save Cheese, Mr. Sonic and Mr. Tails!" Cream added in agreement. She then turned back to the window while thinking to herself. 'Cheese, Sonic, Tails, please be alright.'
They had to hurry to grow Sonic and Tails back to their normal size as well as find Cheese before it really was too late.
Back in the Toy Store, Sonic was running away from Robotnik's new Truckzilla machine that was attempting to squash him flat even though the hero of Mobius was still faster than his evil enemy. The blue hedgehog just hoped to lead the guy away from Tails and that his best friend/little brother was alright and safe.
"What were you thinking, Eggman? You'll never catch me in that thing!" Sonic remarked in annoyed bewilderment, yet confident enough to still get away.
"I don't need to catch you, Sonic. Just herd you! Mwahahaha!" Robotnik laughed manically.
"Herd me?" The blue hedgehog asked, dumbfounded as he wondered what the heck the mad doctor was talking about. "I thought World Domination was your game, not farming!"
The evil scientist grinned. "I love it when your inferior intellect allows you to think you've outsmarted me. It makes things so much easier. Especially when you run right into my clutches!"
"Clutches? Very punny, Eggma-" Sonic smirked over the lame comment, only to scream out in horror as he looked back in front of him to find out too late what his nemesis meant. "AAAH!"
He quickly skid to a stop as he saw 'huge' Robonicles blocking his path, armed and somehow activated. They were about the same size as Robotnik's mech suits and were armed with the same punching missiles as Decoe and Bocoe had found earlier. This was just like the blue hedgehog's nightmares!
"Who invited YOU to the party?" Sonic asked in disbelief, before looking over his shoulder and gasped in dismay and shock to see Robotnik coming in closer to him, and the hero of Mobius found himself completely surrounded and realized that the evil scientist has managed to reprogram all these toys to become his new miniture army to finish the fourteen year old off.
Sonic was now trapped!
Meanwhile, Tails was still trapped himself as he still couldn't leave the doll house while Decoe and Bocoe were still fighting over the 'affection' of the doll just outside of the toy he was stuck in.
"There's got to be another way out of here." Tails whispered himself, attempting to find an exit without getting caught or most likely killed.
As the two-tailed fox looked around, he noticed another door and decided to check it out. When he opened it up, he saw something that made him smile brightly. "Oh, sweet! That should work perfectly!"
Now he had an escape route!
Quickly hurrying into the room, the seven year old knew what to do.
Outside of the house, Decoe and Bocoe were still fighting each other when they heard a loud screeching of...wheels? In confusion, the two dumbots looked over when all of the sudden Tails came crashing through the house driving a battery powered pink doll car, much to their bewilderment.
"Huh!?" The two robots exclaimed.
"Woo-hoo!" Tails cheered on excitedly as he drove away, but not before he looked back over his shoulder briefly to the robotic minions and called out. "See you later, guys!"
The little kit then taunted them by giving the duo a raspberry while pulling his lower eye-lid down, the same way Sonic did, before focusing on his driving.
"He's getting away!" Decoe exclaimed angrily.
"Let's go after him!" Bocoe declared.
Forgetting their useless fighting, the two robots hurried to catch up and attack Tails before he could get any further. All of them unaware that Cheese, who was still flying to find him as well as Sonic, noticed this and squeaked in surprise before he decided to follow while hoping to find the blue hedgehog and that it wasn't too late to save him.
While Tails had just gotten away from his persuers, Sonic was now busy leaping and dodging the missile attacks from the Robonicles as well as Robotnik's attacks. The teenage hero leaped and jumped out of the way, frustrated that unlike real giant robots, he can't use his attacks against the Robonicles even though at this point of time he would rather pay money for the damages of the toys then pay his life and let the evil scientist win.
"Wonderful! A hedgehog speed bump!" Sonic grunted in sarcasm.
He then noticed the slinkies and, seeing that it may help him in the long run, smirked at the idea. Quickly using his speed to dodge more of the attacks, the cobalt speedster then made the much bigger toys slink upward before crushing the Robonicle Army, trapping them and deactivating them, much to Robotnik's shock and dismay.
"These are the best toys ever!" Sonic exclaimed with a grin, before running away to meet with Tails and hopefully to finally get out of this place.
"Obviously made from substandered technology. My Robonicles would never have been so easily defeated!" Robotnik grunted in frustration, before he noticed his teenage enemy getting away and snarled before taking off after him. "I must get rid of that hedgehog!"
As Sonic ran, he heard a small honk and wheels screeching before looking over to his right and smirked in surprise to see his best friend/little brother drive a toy car and the two-tailed fox, upon happily seeing him, quickly drove to race beside the speeding hedgehog.
"Nice car, Tails! Where'd ya' get it?" Sonic asked.
"I burrowed it from some doll." Tails replied, smirking.
But just as the two young brothers were reaching the back exit despite that they were far too small to even reach the handle, Robotnik opened fire with one of his attacks and the two-tailed fox saw this too late, narrowly veering to the left to avoid in getting hit. Unfortunately in his panic, Tails ended up losing control of his car and ended up going for a three-sixty.
"AAHH! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" The young kit screamed hysterically as he ended up crashing into the wall and the car flipping upside down, with him trapped underneath.
"TAILS!" Sonic screamed out, horrified when he saw this happen. The blue hedgehog immediately raced over to his little brother's side and sighed in relief that the two-tailed cub wasn't too injured, but he was lying stuck half underneath the toy car.
By then Decoe and Bocoe, seeing their evil creator in the Truckzilla Toy Tank, hopped on and hitched the ride with Robotnik who yelped at first, before deciding to worry about berating them later and drove closer and closer to the two Mobians.
Sonic quickly pulled at his friend's arms for the second time today, hauling him out as he half-jokingly commented. "That's two times you've wrecked today. I'd start calling "Crash", but that's just silly."
Just as the hero of Mobius pulled his battered companion out and helped him up a little, Sonic and Tails both looked up and saw, to their horror that they were still far too small to reach the exit's back door and Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe had them cornered with no way of escaping. While the seven year old cub shivered in fear, the fourteen year old hedgehog stood protectively in front of his friend, glaring at their enemies bravely even though he too was terrified. It was his nightmare come true, only without the army of Robonicles.
All unaware that Cheese saw them and chirped in horror when he saw his shrunken friends trapped. He couldn't let them get hurt! He just couldn't! Narrowing his eyes, the little Chao knew what he had to do. His friends needed him. He quickly flew over to save Sonic and Tails.
"Now there's no place left to run, hedgehog!" Robotnik declared evilly, feeling that victory was at long last his. He then turned to his two idiotic robots and ordered. "Fire the missiles on my mark!"
"Yes, sir!" Decoe saluted, preparing to fire.
Though Bocoe was a little confused as he stated. "I thought we were firing them at Sonic?"
"You are! Now shut up and fire when I tell you to!" The evil scientist snapped impatiently.
Despite the odds against them, Sonic narrowed his eyes as he made a quick look around with his eyes and thought that, if he could run just as the mad doctor and his robots opened fire, the blue hedgehog could grab Tails and make a run for it to the side to escape.
Tails though, gulped nervously as he felt his confident plummet, fearing that they were about to die. "This looks like the end, Sonic. I always thought we'd be able to save the world again and help save the people...But I guess not."
"We've been in tougher scrapes than this, Tails!" Sonic pointed out confidently, getting ready to save his best friend and flee.
"FIRE!" Robotnik shouted loudly, as he and his two robots opened fire at the two Mobians who braced themselves...
Just as Cheese came flying in with a toy sword and shield he snatched up from the costumes isle and quickly stood in front of the stunned Mobians who yelped a bit in fright to see a GIANT blue and yellow figure stand protectively in front of them. The Chao held up his 'weapons' and used the shield to block the laser and surprisingly whacked Decoe and Bocoe's missiles back which flew right back to the evil trio who screamed in horror while ducking and dodging comically in an attempt to dodge their own attacks.
"Cheese!?" Sonic and Tails both exclaimed in disbelief, as it took them a few moments to realize that Cheese was not only save and sound, but the Chao in front of them has just saved their lives. They didn't see that one coming!
'Whoa! Cheese looks huge from here!' The hero of Mobius thought, as the, at the moment, not so little Chao turned to them with a brave and relieved smile, before the blue hedgehog smiled back and waved. "Thanks, Cheese! Great timing!"
"Thank you, Cheese!" The two-tailed fox added in relief.
"Chao chao!" Cheese chirped.
"What!? That ingrating little Chao!" Robotnik growled, before snapping at his robots. "Decoe, Bocoe! Get rid of this pipsqueak and then fire at Sonic and Tails!"
"Right away, Dr. Robotnik!" The two robots saluted and made to open fire again.
The heroic trio saw this and glared hard with Cheese making to scoop up the shrunken Mobians and protect them again, when all of the sudden a beam of light came from the left and hit all six of them, making Sonic, his friends, and their enemies cry out in shock and alarm. This was caused by Amy and Chris who, having arrived just in time and saw what was happening, aimed at the shrunken group but they all gasped in horror that they accidentally hit Cheese as well. Yet even as the group screamed out while Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe all began to grow taller and taller, the little Chao and the toys, including the missiles fired at the blue hedgehog and his friends, were strangely un-effected.
Yet it was Sonic and Tails who were grown back to normal sizes first, and once the cobalt teenager saw this while Cheese remained the same true size, he noticed the evil scientist and the two dumbots, with their mech suits malfunctioning and thus it took them a bit longer to grow back to normal and were being flown up into the air.
"Whoa!" Sonic yelped, scooping up Tails in one arm and Cheese in another making a run for it out of the way.
"Look out!" Bocoe screamed as he, Decoe and Robotnik, still growing, were flown straight through the back door with their suits exploding and sending the trio, now finally back to normal sizes as well, sent blasting off again.
"I'll get you!" The evil scientist roared in irritation...
CRASH!
Just as he and his minions crashed into a pile of junk and making more of a mess, and were left crippled, injured and completely embarrassed over yet another defeat.
Peering through the back door now that he and Tails were back to normal, Sonic grumbled to himself as he began to close it. "Why does he always say that?"
"Sonic!" Amy's voice cried out, causing the blue hedgehog to look up and saw his self-proclaimed girlfriend, Chris, Chuck, Pell and a very relieved Cream right there, with the pink hedgehog racing over towards the teenager, hugging him tightly now back to normal size. "Are you alright, Sonic?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sonic replied, wincing a little at the tightness, but was really glad to not be the size of a toy anymore, and gazed down at the exhausted Tails who groaned.
"Cheese! Thank goodness you're safe!" Cream exclaimed happily, catching her little Chao best friend who flew into her arms, squeaking away, before she hurried over to Sonic and Amy, while Chris helped Tails up. "Mr. Sonic! You and Mr. Tails are okay too!"
"Heh, thanks to Cheese. He saved us the moment Eggman and his dumbots were about to hit us." Sonic chuckled with a shrug, before giving the little Chao a gentle and very grateful pat on the head. "The little guy's a big brave hero."
That surprised the girls and Chris, while Tails sighed and groaned, still shaken from the nightmare of an experience today, and the aforementioned Cheese beamed happily. Amy, Cream and Chris then smiled proudly at their smallest friend, relieved that not only the Chao managed to avoid injuries, but he had also rescued Sonic and Tails out of the goodness of his sweet little heart.
"Oh, Cheese. That was so brave of you." Cream smiled happily.
"Chao, Chao!" Cheese chirped in gratitude and relief.
While the youngsters were talking, Chuck and Pell gazed at the Warp Ray which, upon restoring Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe back to their original sizes, fuzzed and broke down again, much to the dark-haired man's disappointment.
"At least we know it worked." The elder Thorndyke shrugged, attempting to lighten up the mood, and his old friend just nodded with a sad smile.
"You okay, Tails?" Chris asked in concern.
"It's been a big day. I think he deserves a much needed break." Sonic reassured, picking up his dazed and exhausted little brother and cradled him.
"Can we go home now?" Tails asked, not feeling like moving.
"Sure thing, bud. Let's get you off to bed." The blue hedgehog replied, sympathetically.
"Not so fast!" An unfamiliar man's voice shouted angrily, causing the group to flinch in fright before turning to see the owner of the voice, and apparently the Toy Store in an expensive business suit march over to them with two security guards, and another owner who all glared at young children and the two scientists.
Seeing this and also the damage caused at the store all due to Robotnik's actions earlier, Sonic and his friends all gulped nervously with sweat drops, realizing that they were in trouble. In retrospect, Pell knew that, his head hanging low as he gazed at his device, he was the one fully responsible for the evil scientist for attacking in the first place.
"Which one of you is responsible for this? You're not going anywhere unless you pay for the damages!" The second Owner demanded.
The young heroes and the two men all shared worried glances, realizing that Pell's reputation may end up be going down the toilet.
Around two hours later, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Chris, Chuck, Cream and Cheese were finally back home at the Thorndyke Manor after they and Pell, who took full responsibility for the blue hedgehog and two-tailed fox's nightmare miniture adventure and Robotnik for attacking in the first place, helped to clean up the mess and paid for the damages of the toy product and parts of the store.
Not to mention inadvertantly scaring off customers who had mistook the shrunken young heroes and evil villains for toys.
Right now, with the mess all sorted out, and the damages paid with Pell using his fundings to pay off the most of it, the group came home with boxes and boxes of Robonicles for Chris to play with, some already unpacked and put onto the table.
"Thanks for buying me all of these Robonicles, Grandpa." Chris said happily, playing with one of his new toys.
His grandfather chuckled, saying sheepishly. "You're welcome, Chris. Although, it's not like that manager left me much choice. "You break it, you buy it" That's what he said."
The young Mobians just smiled at this at first, before the youngest in the room lowered her gaze, causing her three older friends to gaze at her as Amy asked. "What's wrong, Cream?"
"I feel very sorry for Mr. Pell. It wasn't his fault that Dr. Robotnik attacked." Cream sighed. "And it isn't fair that he has to stop his research now too."
"I know, kiddo." Sonic smiled softly as he placed a comforting arm around his youngest friend's shoulders. "It can't helped, though. After what happened today, I sorta knew that the whole shrinking for easier travel thing was a bad idea."
"Especially now it's agreed by the authorities and Government to ensure it doesn't happen again, or else it could end up in the wrong hands, like Dr. Eggman." Tails nodded in agreement, before shrugging. "Though I don't think he'll be going for that idea again either."
"Professor Pell will be okay. I think he just feels guilty over what happened." Amy reassured.
"Yeah, you're right." The little five year old girl nodded with a soft smile, turning to Cheese and added. "And Cheese really saved the day. Didn't you?"
"Chao, Chao, Chao, Chao, Chao!" Cheese chirped.
"Yeah, you totally saved us back there, little guy. Thank you." Sonic agreed, and laughed when the little Chao leaped onto his chest and hugged him, which the blue hedgehog, along with his friends who joined in, returned.
Things had turned out alright in the end and once again Dr. Robotnik was defeated...Yet little did they know that this was just the beginning of what was really yet to come.
Meanwhile, in the Iron Empire's secret base, Julius and his men were watching the news conference that were unfolded as the events on what happened today broke out all across Station Square.
"With an unfortunate incident and attack caused by Dr. Robotnik, and the damage at the local Toy Store, Professor Pell's experiment was suspended and banned to prevent further incidents happening again in the future. Robotnik and Pell were both charged and fined with heavy damage and placing citizens at risk, but the day was once again saved by none other than Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends." Scarlet reported, before the TV was shut off.
"If I had been at that Toy Store and not know what was really going on, I'd be freaking out myself." One of the Iron Assistants remarked, placing his hand behind his head.
"If I were shrunk like that, I'd go nuts if a kid mistook me for a toy." A soldier muttered, nervously. He then shuddered. "Especially if it were a little girl playing dress up with me. Ugh!"
"The experiment to shrink people is a downfall and a waste of time..." Julius, who was surprisingly calm for once, as his men turned to face him and saw that he held a much darker evil grin on his face, his hands clasped in front of him while he learned forward in his chair. "But this just gives me an idea, to go with what I have been planning for all these years."
"But in order to do that, sir, you would need a Rubinite which are extremely rare to find." Another Assistant pointed out.
The leader of the Empire chuckled. "Why use something like that for our own experiment...If we can use a much more useful power source along with all of the Chaos needed? We just need the Chaos Emeralds, the little girl and her Chao before we can conduct it."
While the men in the room were stunned over this idea, the intercom suddenly buzzed and made everyone look up to see a communication turn on to reveal more Iron Empire men appear on screen.
"Lord Julius, Sir. We have a major report." The head Soldier on the screen greeted.
"What is it now? It had better be good news, and unless you found the location of that brat and the Chao Colony, you are wasting my time!" Julius growled in annoyance.
"Unfortunately no, but we have made another progress for your plans, sir." The Soldier quickly explained, moving away as two of his troops were shown on the screen holding a highly secured case.
But when they opened it up, the eyes of everyone in the Base all widened in surprise, shock, disbelief, and in Julius' case, pure delight. The moment he saw what was in the case, he began to chuckle, before laughing manically as this was perfect!
"Finally! We have made progress! Excellent work, Commander! Now we just need to find the rest and lure Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends right into our trap and soon the girl, all of the Chao and soon the entire world will be mine! Mwahahahahaha! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!" Julius bellowed in evil laughter.
Because within the black case was a purple Chaos Chaos that was recently found.
Now that left with Sonic and his friends with five Emeralds, the Iron Empire one plus the Master Emerald and Angel Island with Cream's mother and villagers, and Robotnik having none.
A/N: Uh oh! While our heroes had been busy with the shrinking crisis in town, the Iron Empire now has one of the two remaining Chaos Emeralds! How will Sonic and his friends react once they find out about this?
