Episode 20: Amy's Valentine Date!?
Two weeks onward since the heroes' previous adventure, and Sonic resumed his search for the Iron Empire's base with the aid of his friends and the Chaotix who had provided an update thanks to Espio's ability to turn invisible. Though while they still didn't know where to find the organization, they did have some sort of clue they are actually quite close in finding it.
But that wasn't what was in the mind of Amy Rose, the pink hedgehog girl who had claimed to be Sonic's girlfriend for three years ever since they met, and she had hoped that he would take her out on a date but it never happened...
Until...now?
"Sonic is taking me on a date!" Amy squealed in the living room one morning, jumping up and down in excitement. Finally, after waiting to go on one, the eleven year old girl's wish is coming true!
And the best part is, it's Valentine's Day, the day of romance of cute couples, flowers, and chocolate.
"Your patience paid off." Ella remarked proudly, thoroughly surprised as were Cream and Cheese, while Tails and Chris were both bewildered with Sonic standing by with his arms crossed.
"We're so happy for you!" Cream congratulated brightly.
"Chao, chao!" Cheese chirped in agreement.
While the girls and the little Chao were celebrating Amy's success and excitement, the boys stood back a little as Sonic's two best friends gazed at the blue hedgehog since he wasn't the type for romance what so ever.
"You okay, Sonic?" Tails asked, questioningly as he held his big brother's hand.
Chris checked the teenager's head before stating. "He doesn't have a fever."
"Relax, guys. Today is Valentine's Day, so I thought I'd be nice and give in for once..." Sonic reassured them smiling, yet he then grumbled in dismay once his self-proclaimed girlfriend turned around along with the other girls. "That and...I lost a bet to Knuckles last week."
It was true, because a week ago Sonic met up with Knuckles who still had trouble in locating the other Chaos Emeralds himself and the two teenage boys remembered that Valentine's Day was coming up. Knowing how much the hero of Mobius hates romantic dates, the red echidna made a bet with him that he would take Amy out on this very day. The fourteen year old thought he'd win and that he wouldn't take her out...but in the end, he lost and now he had to honor the bet...
By going for a very boring date on a day like today. That thought made his stomach turn. Ugh, how could anybody stand the overly mushy lovey-dovey sort of thing?
Hearing what he said made Tails sweat drop skeptically and Chris raise an eyebrow in surprise. Before the cobalt hedgehog could continue, Amy leaped over happily and held his arm for their first ever date!
"So what are we doing tonight, my Valentine?" The pink hedgehog asked excitedly, her eyes sparkling.
Sonic only managed to stop himself from flinching as he began, nervously with a sweat drop. "Um..."
Oh, shoot. He didn't know how to make her happy since he wasn't the romantic type at all. He was so much in big trouble.
"You don't have a clue, do you?" Tails whispered while nudging the panicking hedgehog's shoulder.
"Of course I do, Tails!" Sonic quickly scoffed to prevent himself from blowing his cover. 'Man, I really don't have a clue...How am I gonna...?'
He then had an idea. Clues...that made him realize something and a Sonic-shaped light-bulb went off in Sonic's head.
'That's it!' Smirking to himself, Sonic then pretended to flirt with his self-proclaimed girlfriend, leaning up close to her with a grin and said charmingly. "I just have to find the list. I'll be right back."
This made Amy feel so happy, the way how he spoke was the most romantic he has ever said to her that she took his words literally.
"Okay!" Amy replied, feeling her heart beat wildly and multiple miniature hearts floating around her.
With that, Sonic sped off out of the mansion(unbeknownst to his crazy fangirl friend), leaving everybody behind with the pink hedgehog sighing with a daze, slowly falling to her knees with a blush on her muzzle.
"He's so romantic..." She stated, her hands on her cheeks.
"He really doesn't have a clue, does he?" Chris whispered to Tails, in hopelessness.
"Nope. That's why he bailed so he could come up with something to not get into trouble with Amy." The seven year old cub whispered back, exasperated.
Since he really didn't have a clue about this whole thing, Sonic went to where clues were the specialty! And who else but the best detectives in town?
...Yeah, okay, they were the only detectives in town at the moment, but hey, they were better than nothing, right?
Knowing that he had to figure out how to make a list before his date tonight(that thought still made him shudder, but as a hedgehog of his word, he had to make it count), Sonic dashed over to the Chaotix Agency and explained the whole situation to his new allies and friends, Vector, Espio and Charmy. Plus while the crocodile may not admit it nor did anybody else notice, the blue hedgehog knew that the oldest Mobian in the small building had a crush on Cream's mother. So even he had to know something.
"So can you help me? I'll take any advice." Sonic requested.
Even though Espio knew that they were detectives, not matchmakers, he knew that this shouldn't be that hard of a task. "You can count on us, Sonic."
"Sure! We're the experts!" Vector smirked, reclining in his chair and desk.
"We are?" Charmy asked, skeptically before pointing out. "But none of us have ever gone on a date..."
While the purple chameleon groaned as he facepalmed himself, Vector slapped himself on the head over the young bee's gullibility for not covering things up, so the second oldest Mobian quickly covered the five year old's mouth.
"Kids these days...!" Espio quickly fibbed as he and the crocodile sweat dropped, making Sonic blink in slight confusion and suspicion, while Charmy struggled to free himself since he couldn't breathe.
"Never mind him! One romantic list coming right up!" Vector quickly told Sonic, confidently. He then had his two friends huddle in a circle, their backs turned to the confused blue hedgehog.
"Here's what I think should happen." The taller Mobian whispered, already coming up with an idea as he imagined Sonic and Amy romantically walking down the streets of Station Square at night. "Sonic should sweep Amy off her feet and give her a night on the town!"
Espio however was skeptical over this. "Does that even mean anything?"
He then suggested given his background as a ninja. "He should take her to a traditional Chun-ese restaurant."
"What do you know about Chun-ese traditions?" Vector asked, just as skeptical with a raise eyebrow.
"In case you forgot, I crew up in the town near Chun-Nan before I left to understand other cultures of the world." Espio responded.
Ignoring the chameleon's comment, the green crocodile then asked. "Well then, what do you think, Charmy?"
"I know a fun place, since I saw it when we first came here." Charmy said happily. "They should go to Twinkle Park!"
The two older detectives blinked before sharing a glance, and then shook their heads in dismissal.
"Nah! That's kids stuff." Vector scoffed.
As Sonic watched on impatiently waiting for the list, it was long before the trio began to argue and then go into an all-out comical brawl while trying to come up with other suggestions, such as flowers, chocolate, sonnets, and smooches to the point that the fight ended up a dust cloud. Realizing that this was probably a mistake, the blue hedgehog rolled his eyes in exasperation and decided to just stick to what was already written on paper.
He went over and successfully managed to snatch the list which literally only had the three first things the Chaotix had come up with, and he had to admit when he looked at it, they all seemed to be Amy's style with the first one close to his own. Plus he has heard of their conversation since they weren't the best whisperers.
"Yeah, I think this will do." Sonic declared, causing the fight to stop. "Thanks, guys."
"No problem..." Vector blinked, as he, Espio and Charmy gazed at him in surprise right before the fourteen year old waved a goodbye and ran off for home.
Unaware that Bokkun, who had seen Sonic run by earlier and decided to see what he was up to, had listened in and snickered quietly to himself.
"Oh, wow! Sonic and Amy are dating now!" The little robot laughed cheekily, before he flew off. He had to tell Robotnik about this!
Ten minutes later when the message-bot returned to the Egg Fort that continued to fly across the ocean, he explained what he overheard to Robotnik, Decoe and Bocoe.
"...And then he ran off with the list, doctor!" Bokkun concluded.
"That is so sweet!" Decoe said happily, clasping his hands together while stupidly supporting the two hedgehogs.
"Young love!" Bocoe cheered as he hugged the taller robot.
Though Robotnik wasn't the romantic type and in the worst case than his teenage enemy, he faked the happy feeling. "I can't believe it! After so many years of waiting, Sonic and Amy are finally together! I've waited so long for this..."
Robotnik then growled furiously with another plan forming in his evil mind at the same time. "...So I can ruin their happiness! Operation: Heartbreak begins now!"
His robots, while shocked to hear this even though they knew earlier this year upon their creation that the evil scientist hates Valentine's Day, cheered on in agreement as this was another scheme to try and get rid of Sonic once and for all.
"Yes sir! Another plan made on the fly." Bocoe saluted.
"What are we doing?" Decoe asked, curiously.
Bokkun, not really paying attention, turned to the one thing he loved about Valentine's Day: The treats. "I hope he brings her a box of chocolate!"
Robotnik gathered the trio and came up with several plans to ruin Sonic and Amy's date tonight...
Though this would be more of a disaster than one would think.
Later that night in the early evening, Sonic reluctantly walked along the sidewalk with Amy holding onto his right arm in a loving way, the two young hedgehogs passing by shops and libraries that were decorated for the special day, and human couples doing the similar thing, more in love than the hero of Mobius was.
'I seriously can't wait for tomorrow. Valentine's Day is the most boring holiday ever.' Sonic thought to himself, scratching the back of his left ear. He never really understood why people make a fuss over being romantic on this day when they have plenty of days to do that.
Every time his parents went over it, the young hero would cringe in disgust and go out and play, leaving them on their own for their mushy moments. Each time his mother and father would tease him that one day he would find a girl of his own and understand. But there was no way in the universe Sonic the Hedgehog would ever fall romantically in love with anyone. Nuh uh, no way jose!
"What are we doing first tonight, my Valentine?" Amy asked expectedly, leaning against her 'boyfriend's' shoulder. She had been dreaming of this moment ever since the pink hedgehog was rescued by her blue hero.
Just as the tarot cards once predicted, they were fated lovers to be drawn together.
"Let's see...What I had planned here..." Sonic trailed off, a little nervously. What was it that the Chaotix suggested again?
"...Sweep Amy off her feet and give her a night on the town!"
'Well...okay?' The blue hedgehog thought. That was a bit of his style and his self-proclaimed girlfriend did like a thrill or two once in a while. Nodding to himself, he carefully scooped Amy into his arms which made her yelp in surprise and dashed around down before he ran up along a building for a better view of the city.
"Sonic, what are you doing-?" Amy squealed as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
"How's this for a night out the town?" Sonic asked with a smirk and a wink, leaping from roof to another, which earned him a bit scared whimper at first, before the pink hedgehog smiled brightly with her eyes twinkling and decided that this was fun, and romantic.
But as the two young couple dashed along the night sky, they were unaware that Robotnik and Bokkun were hovering behind them after they caught sight of the two hedgehogs dashing away.
"Get ready to fire and blast those hedgehogs into pieces!" Robotnik snickered evilly.
"Ready, doctor!" Bokkun saluted, taking out a bomb and once he aimed right, tossed it...
Though unfortunately at the same time as the evil scientist firing a missile and causing the two dangerous explosives to collide and go off. Shocked and glaring at each other, Robotnik and Bokkun attempted to try again only to be met with the same result.
"Huh!? What the?" Sonic yelped, hearing the explosions and looked over his shoulder, gasping in shock when he saw the two enemies attempting to kill him and Amy. 'Robotnik and Bokkun! What do they want!? They're tryin' to ruin our date our somethin'?'
Now in danger, the hero of Mobius went faster to keep himself and his friend out of harm's way, though the mad doctor and his stupid cry-baby of a robot stopped in midair and began to argue while their weapons kept on colliding into each other.
"Stop it, Bokkun! Your bombs are blowing up my missiles!" Robotnik shouted angrily.
"Other away around! The blasting is my job!" Bokkun pointed out, before he and his creator went for an all-out glaring contest with sparks flying.
By then Sonic stopped when Amy asked what that noise was and when they turned around, the hero of Mobius glared at the evil duo while his friend softly gasped. "Oh look, Sonic!"
'Yeah, sorry Amy. Guess we'll have to cut our date shor-'
"Fireworks!" Amy continued excitedly as she didn't notice Robotnik or Bokkun bickering. Instead, she mistook the bombs and missiles exploding as fireworks. Which in retrospect, the sight from this view did make it look as such and even fireworks were considered as a romantic sight.
'...Or not.' Sonic finished his thought as he thought that maybe this wouldn't be as bad as he thought. So he smirked and chuckled softly. "Sure they are."
Plus it did also give him an entertaining view of watching the two losers argue worse than children.
"Insubordinate!" Bokkun shouted childishly.
"Bomb hog!" Robotnik snapped back.
This was failed plan to ruin Sonic and Amy's date number 1.
Short time later at a local Chun-nese restaurant, Decoe and Bocoe were posed as the local entertainment chefs once they got word that Robotnik and Bokkun's plan to blow up Sonic and Amy in the middle of the streets ended in a disaster.
"Since Bokkun and Dr. Robotnik's plan did not go so well..." Bocoe began, he and his taller companion wearing aprons and chef hats.
"Failed miserably..." Decoe corrected.
"It falls on us to get Sonic and Amy at this Chun-nese Restaurant!" The grey robot declared with an evil leer in his eyes. "The plan is simple! Sonic and Amy will sit down for a nice Hibachi-grilled dinner! While I distract them with the show...I drop the oil and flash-fry them! It's a perfect plan!"
The two pathetic dumbots laughed evilly together over this plan, already seeing the images of Sonic and Amy being blown up into crisp, before the duo quickly got to work.
"We can't miss!" Decoe declared.
"Let's practice first!" Bocoe advised.
The two then quickly went to practice...only to end up bumping into each other and like Robotnik and Bokkun, they went into an argument for getting in each other's way.
"Hey! Be careful with those! You shouldn't play with knives like that!" The yellow robot scolded as he and his friend ended up dropping things...and he unknowingly spilled the jug full of cooking oil all over the flat stove.
"I know what I'm doing! You just be careful with that-" The shorter robot paused when he saw what happened and yelped in fear. "-Oil!"
At first nothing seemed to happen and the two stared at it in confusion. Maybe it wasn't turned on yet?
BOOM!
Sadly, it was, and it blew up in their faces, leaving the two mechanical idiots standing there, burnt and charred, while Amy dragged Sonic along to get themselves a table that wasn't taken yet, fully unaware of what just happened and leaving Decoe and Bocoe standing there in total damages...and embarrassment.
This was failed plan to ruin Sonic and Amy's date number 2.
Half an hour later after dinner, Sonic and Amy were once again walking along the streets continuing their date before the night was over. While the blue hedgehog had to admit it wasn't as bad as he thought at it was, the pink hedgehog, despite having a fun time so far, felt rather disappointed over the lack of actual romance and fun moments.
"Enjoying yourself so far, Amy?" Sonic questioned, his hands behind his head as they strolled.
"Well enough, I suppose, but..." Amy began, which her 'boyfriend' look at her in confusion and concern, as she realized why she wasn't having much fun because this all felt normal. "We're always having high-speed adventures, and Ella always cooks great meals."
Sonic flinched worriedly at that, realizing that she was right and that meant he wasn't really honoring up to his promise, and thought nervously. 'Uh-oh...'
"If this is really a date, I want to be dazzled!" The eleven year old girl hissed accusingly, glaring up at the fourteen year old who sweat dropped fearfully, the latter quickly sneaking out the list hoping that there was at least one thing that would make her happy. "What's left on your list?"
"Uh..." The hero of Mobius began, looking down at the list and saw the only last thing which was Charmy's suggestion. He mentally gulped and hoped it would work, before saying, trying not to sound scared. "Twinkle Park?"
If this didn't work, then Sonic would be in for Amy's wrath and their date would be ruined. His stomach dropped over that thought and silently prayed for a miracle.
Fortunately, she didn't disappoint.
"Really!?" Amy quickly beamed happily, jumping up and down with her hands clasped. Now that was something they didn't get to do every day! Best part is, she knew that going to themeparks was not only super fun, but on nights like this, it was absolutely romantic as normal couples sometimes go to them on their own dates.
She then excitedly grabbed hold of the stunned Sonic's arm and dragged him straight towards Twinkle Park, exclaiming. "Let's go! I hear cute couples get in free!"
"Amy! W-w-wait!" Sonic cried out, amazed by his friend's strength and excitement, while deep down he was very relieved to have gotten out of getting beat up to the pulp.
Who would have thought that a five year old kid's suggestion for a romantic date would actually be what couples would normally do?
'I'd oughta thank Charmy over this. For a kid, he's idea is way more of Amy's taste than Vector and Espio's.' The blue hedgehog thought.
Thankfully managing to get in for free as the hedgehogs were seen as a cute couple(that the receptionist at the counter thought of), Sonic and Amy played in Twinkle Park for the rest of the area's opening hours. They rode on the merry-go-round even though the ride was slow and boring for the hero of Mobius, but he obliged his friend's request and seeing her having a field day did make him smile.
Next, they went to the High Striker, and much to the amusement of Sonic and the shock of the host and other players waiting in line, Amy hit it so hard with her Piko Piko Hammer that the puck hit the bell and was flown away into the distance.
"Whoa, Amy! That was a real striker there!" Sonic remarked, even though he and Amy knew that the High Striker was now broken.
The pink hedgehog, seeing this and that the bell was broken, sweat dropped and giggled nervously while rubbing the back of her head, muttering. "Oops...Sorry about that. I don't know my own strength sometimes."
Being a hammer wielder, it was a huge reminder for the cobalt hero to never get on her bad side.
Afterwards, the two friends went to the bowling alley where Amy rolled her ball and sighed that she missed two pins for the second time. She then noticed Sonic stretching out with a smirk on his face.
"Hey, Sonic. Where's your ball?" She asked, confused.
"Heh, I don't need a bowling ball. I'M the bowling ball!" Sonic snickered, before he Spin Dashed right into the bowling pins and knocking them all down with ease, earning himself a strike and making his self-proclaimed girlfriend shocked, then she giggled while covering her mouth with her free hand.
"Oh, Sonic! You're so silly!" Amy laughed.
Once they finished playing that game, at Amy's urging and Sonic's dismay, the blue hedgehog sat next to the pink hedgehog on the Ferris Wheel, and he did find himself blush as Amy nuzzled her head on his shoulder.
While he still wasn't romantic and dates were boring in his opinion, at least tonight was an exception. Still, seeing her look so happy did make him happy as well, so as reluctant as he felt, he carefully placed his left arm around her shoulders and the two young Mobians gazed out at the sight before them, the beautiful view of Station Square's night lights, behind the buildings the spectacular ocean and the full moonlight and stars reflected on the water's surface.
As soon as the ride was over, they still had time to hang around before the park closed for the day. Sonic and Amy both wandered when the latter noticed something that brought back memories...at least to the former. The haunted house attraction full of fake ghosts and whatever else that could scare a person.
"Oooooh! A haunted house! Let's go!" Amy said excitedly, and quickly dragged the shocked Sonic with her.
"I thought you had your fill of ghosts?" The blue hedgehog asked, incredulously. It has been only two weeks since their last adventure. He was just relieved that the pink hedgehog didn't end up encountering King Boom Boo.
But as the two blue hedgehogs headed inside, Robotnik, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, having tried and failed to locate the Mobian children after the last two plans had failed, finally spotted them through the bushes nearby.
"Perfect! Our intial plans may not have been so hot..." Robotnik chuckled darkly with a grin, knowing how to get rid of the hedgehogs this time.
"Actually, they were much too hot...!" Decoe corrected, as he and Bocoe still felt sore from their humiliating burns.
"But this one shall succeed! Sonic and Amy are corndered in the dark and spooky halls! They'll never see us coming!" The evil scientist continued while ignoring the comment, and quickly but silently ran towards the attraction alongside his robot minions. "And when we're through, this haunted house will have two new ghosts! Hahahaha!"
The idea of having the young hedgehogs as ghosts filled Robotnik with excitement.
Having gotten themselves in, Sonic and Amy slowly strolled along the fake but creepy halls of the haunted house, the latter now becoming really scared as she was clinging onto her 'boyfriend's' arm, while the former kept his eyes peeled even though this wasn't all that scary to him.
But his senses detected that they weren't fully alone and not in a good way. The real ghosts were tough, and he can handle the fake ones, though something was making his quills stick up a little.
"The m-music in h-here is creepy!" Amy shivered, sticking close to the hero of Mobius.
"Uh-huh." Sonic said absently, not scared at all. Just on his guard.
"I hope y-you're not too s-scared in here."
"Nuh-uh."
He'd seen a lot of horror movies with creepy music, so he was used to it. The blue hedgehog was old enough to know that those sort of things were all fake.
Just then, the two heard mechanical moaning right behind them which strangely sounded familiar to the hero of Mobius, the two softly gasping and spun around while the piko-piko hammer wielding girl was even more terrified. It was Decoe who was dressed up as a zombie, and Bocoe who was dressed as a Mummy, pretending to be the undead to scare the duo into a trap and having replaced the actual actors or mechanical parts.
"We'll eat your brains!" Bocoe moaned.
"We'll put them in a quiche!" Decoe added.
"Give me a break!" Sonic complained, as the two dumbots acting were just plain pathetic. Plus Bocoe should've been the one to act like a zombie, because as far as stories could tell, Mummies don't eat brains.
Even though zombies don't talk much either, except for just saying 'brains' repeatedly 24/7...not that the blue hedgehog believed in either of those. Ghosts, yes. But not Mummies or Zombies.
Amy on the other hand, scared out of her mind already, was even more terrified as she screamed loudly. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Just then, something came hanging from the ceiling with a rope, and Sonic jumped a little, but not in fright as he instantly recognized the new comer: It was Bokkun who simply had a sheet draped over him, pretending to be a ghost...in a very childish and unconvincing way.
"Ooga-booga!" The smallest robot bellowed incorrectly.
Geez, didn't Robotnik ever watch enough movies to train his robots to get fictional monsters right?
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! Get away!" Amy screamed in pure horror, and instantly summoned her Hammer before she, much to the shock of the three disguised robots, bashed them all away as they cried out and crashed onto the ground.
Once again, Sonic was scared of his self-proclaimed girlfriend's strength as he stared with a sweat drop. Boy, she really doesn't hold back, does she?
Before he could say anything to calm her down, Amy grabbed hold of Sonic's arm and ran away, dragging the alarmed blue hedgehog along with, crying out. "Sonic! Why did you convince me to come in here!?"
"Me!?" Sonic asked incredulously. "It's you who wanted to come in here in the first place!"
She didn't respond as the two then ended up in the mirror maze, only to skid to a stop and screamed in fright again. Sonic in the meantime gasped when they saw Robotnik...except they were surrounded by so many of the evil scientist's reflections that the cobalt hero didn't know which was the real doctor.
"Eggman!" Sonic hissed, he and the frightened Amy standing back to back, and the blue hedgehog stood his ground, his heart hammering nervously.
Robotnik laughed manically, having the two hedgehogs trapped while holding a laser gun. "Reflect on your decision all you want, Sonic! You're not leaving here alive!"
The evil scientist then aimed at the duo before he opened fire to vaporize them.
"AMY! GET DOWN!" Sonic shouted, shoving his self-proclaimed girlfriend to the floor and used himself to shield her, their eyes squeezed tightly while the real laser thankfully missed, and bounced onto one of the mirrors and creating a chain-event of multiple lasers attempted to hit them...
And to Robotnik's shock, at him as he was gasped in horror realizing his mistake, while comically dodging which made it look like he was doing a crazy dance, yelping in a high-pitched tone. "AHHH! GAH! OH! WHOA! AIE! AH! AAHH! EAH! EGAD!"
"Let's get outta here!" The blue hedgehog exclaimed, picking up the screaming Amy as he quickly dodged the lasers more easily and ran away towards the exit, leaving behind the panicking doctor stuck in his own trap.
By this time, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun, who ditched his costume, saw what happened and attempted to aid their creator.
"We're coming, Dr. Robotnik!" Bocoe cried out.
"We'll save you!" Decoe added.
Sadly, not only were they forced to dodge in getting vaporized themselves, one of the lasers narrowly avoided Bokkun...but shot straight through his bag still full of bombs.
"Uh-oh...!" The small robot murmured worriedly...
BOOM!
The bombs went off with the four of them caught in it, and behind Sonic and Amy who thankfully managed to get away and made it outside. Once he knew that they safe for now, the blue hedgehog gently said the frantic younger girl down.
"You alright?" Sonic asked, panting a little. 'Man, that was a close one! Good thing there aren't any real ghosts in this place.'
"Yeah, I'm fine now..." Amy nodded, starting to recover as she thought what happened back there was all part of the attraction, and teasingly asked her 'boyfriend' who glared back at where they came from. "Awwwww...Did those Eggman holograms scare you, Sonic?"
"No way." The blue hedgehog responded, walking off with his friend right behind him.
Back inside the now destroyed mirror maze with glass shattered all over the floor, and the dazed evil group having managed to survive, Robotnik was anything but pleased.
"How many years of bad luck is that?" Decoe moaned over the mess, and the superstition of the 'breaking the mirror causes seven years bad luck' thing.
"Twelve thousand, five hundred, forty-four. Give or take, a century." Bocoe shrugged helplessly.
Robotnik in the meantime didn't see Sonic and Amy and growled furiously. "Don't just sit there, you useless slugs! Get them!"
This was failed plan to ruin Sonic and Amy's date number 3.
Far away from the Haunted House attraction and just about at least an hour left, Sonic and Amy were now at the Roller Coaster attraction, the duo taking the front cart.
"One last ride before the park closes." Sonic informed as the bars lowered onto his and Amy's lap.
"Oh man! I hear this is the fastest roller coaster in the world!" Amy squealed excitedly, holding onto the bar.
The blue hedgehog though rolled his eyes and relaxed, because there was nothing in the world that was faster than he was. To him, even the fastest roller coasters were still slower. "We'll see about that."
Just as the ride began to take off, Robotnik, Decoe, Bocoe and Bokkun ran up passing the receptionist, panting to get on and capture the Mobians before they could get away in their final attempt to ruin their date.
"Don't let them get away!" The evil scientist wheezed, and the four all leaped into the carts, just about four or five away from where Sonic and Amy were...
Except Robotink, due to being over weighted, he ended up being slumped awkwardly with the bar strapped right into his stomach and squeezing him, with his three minions in front just as the ride took off slowly.
"We made it!" Bocoe cheered, before he and Decoe gave their boss a thumbs up.
Only for their creator to have a flash-back as they all went up the first part of the ride, and he murmured in terror. "There's just one problem..."
The roller coaster then descended downward in high-speed that was half of Sonic's and while nowhere near as fast as the teenager, it was still far too fast for the mad doctor.
"I forgot I'm terrified of roller coasters! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Robotnik screamed in full horror, pleading for the ride to stop already. Ever since he was a young boy, roller coasters always scared him to no end and to make matters worse, Julius made the fun out of him by calling Ivo a big wailing baby.
As the ride went through the twists and turns, with Amy squealing excitedly, Sonic simply sighing and looking about ready to fall asleep, and Robotnik screaming in terror, Decoe and Bocoe decided to try and take the matters into their own hands.
"Don't worry, Dr. Robotnik!" Bocoe declared.
"We'll get them!" Decoe finished.
But as the two bumbling morons broke the old themepark rules and ran up from cart to cart to capture Sonic and Amy, the ride went up through a loop and caused the robots to fall off once the roller coaster went upside down and they screamed before crashing onto the ground below and scattered into pieces.
"So that's why you're supposed to stay in the car at all times." Decoe remarked, as he and his friend now had to put themselves back together, while understanding why roller coasters were dangerous.
"Thrown for a loop again..." Bocoe complained.
Sadly, this was failed plan to ruin Sonic and Amy's date number 4.
"This is a disaster!" Robotnik screamed, hanging on for dear life. 'Why can't this thing just end already!? Stop! I want to get oooooofffff!'
"No worries, boss! I just rigged the back car with enough boom to launch the whole train!" Bokkun reassured happily, having already thought ahead, much to his creator's surprise and quick delight.
"Excellent work, Bokkun! They...er..." But before he could finish, the ride then slowed to a stop and when he and his smallest robot looked up, to their surprise, it was already over, and Sonic and Amy climbed out, absolutely fine.
"Woo! What a rush!" Amy remarked as she and her 'boyfriend' stood on the platform.
Sonic yawned while stretching his arms upward, stating. "It was all right."
With that and their date at Twinkle Park officially over, the two hedgehogs walked off to leave and head for home, leaving the confused and disappointed villains behind. Bokkun blinked while climbing out and checked his watch. "Huh...I thought we had another minute. I guess it'll go off for nothing."
Robotnik in the meantime attempted to get out, only to end up struggling that he couldn't even pull or push himself from the bars, which was still firmly pressing into his stomach.
"I'm stuck!" He grunted, trying to free himself.
"Five, four, three, two..." Bokkun counted down while covering his 'ears', while the ride began to start up again with the evil scientist still on it.
"No! Let me off! I don't want to ride anymore!" Robotnik pleaded, which only had his remaining robot notice too late and, panicking, quickly went to try and free him, but it was too late.
The bomb went off and sent them and the cart flying right off the coaster rails and into the distance, Robotnik and Bokkun screaming in terror. All in the background as Sonic and Amy walked away calmly, seemingly unaware of this.
Thus this was failed plan to ruin Sonic and Amy's date number 5, and the final plan busted all together. The duo's date went on very nicely despite a few hiccups.
"I'm sorry I was hard on you earlier, Sonic." Amy whispered softly, her arms wrapped lovingly around Sonic's right arm once more with a smile. "I've had a great time tonight."
"Heh...Me too, Amy." Sonic admitted. He actually had fun tonight, though with a bit of an unexpected help after a few close calls.
The pink hedgehog beamed happily over this and hugged him, asking. "Enough for a second date?"
Cringing, the hero of Mobius muttered uneasily and once again wondered what he had gotten himself into. "Eh...Maybe?"
Thankfully before he could get himself into trouble with her, a limosine pulled up which made Sonic smirk and Amy surprised as the former declared charmingly. "Our chariot awaits!"
Tanaka, having been asked by Sonic to be their ride home, stepped out before opening the passenger door for the young 'lovers' to enter. "Mr. Sonic. Miss Rose."
"Thank you, Mr. Tanaka!" Amy smiled at the kindess, before she, with the generous help from her 'boyfriend', stepped inside.
"Keep the engine running! I'll be right back!" Sonic then requested the human butler, as he still had one last thing to do before speeding off, leaving behind his confused two friends behind as they wondered what he had to do.
What Amy and Tanaka didn't know was that Sonic was aware of what happened to Robotnik and Bokkun, who had crashed into the middle of the street with them crippled and groaning, and the roller coaster cart wrecked.
The blue hedgehog smirked at the sight before kneeling on one knee before his humiliated and defeated enemy. "Thanks for showing up tonight, Eggman. It would've been a boring date otherwise."
Robotnik could only moan before passing out, burying his face into the concrete ground.
As Sonic had said, he really had fun tonight, while his enemies were left vowing to never go through this ever again.
A/N: I know this episode wasn't everybody's taste(considering the problems fanfiction is having right now), but it's another one of my favorites from the Sonic X comics. Hopefully I'll post the next chapter before the end of the month or at least sometime next month...But I'm not so sure about that.
