Chapter 3
"Speech"
"Native Dragon Tongue"
-Meanwhile-
A solitary groan echoed in the air, filling the dark cave that the sound originated from with a sibilant noise that turned into a pained whine. The owner of the groan slowly lifted itself up, at least into an proper laying position, wiping their eyes of dust and debris with a closed paw. Once the figure was sure their vision wouldn't be obstructed, they opened their eyes, revealing purple irises and strained pupils. "That's the last time I have what ever they call a 'food supplement' for lunch." The figure said, shaking itself free of more debris and stretching its wings. Slowly though, the figure's brain caught up with its surroundings and its purple eyes widened to the size of dinner plates. "W-wait what...Cynder!" The figure exclaimed before bounding up on all of it's legs, the last of the free dust shaken by the act to reveal the purple dragon underneath all the grime and rock. Scanning the cavernous room the dragon found itself it, it noticed another dragon covered in dust and a few rocks around the figure at the edge of the room. Rushing over quickly to the other dragon, the purple one quickly looked over the dragon on the ground, its jet black scales hiding the dirt upon them well. 'No, no, not her too!' The purple dragon thought in fear as it looked down at the black she-dragon in dismay before perking up at the sight of her chest. The purple dragon noticed slow, labored rising and falling of the prone dragon's chest as an indication of breathing. Sighing in relief the purple dragon sat down and put its head down a small bit. "Thank the ancients..." The purple dragon said in a pained and panting voice.
As its friend slept, the purple dragon began scanning the room that it woke up in, noticing how it looked as if it was just constructed within a few weeks. The rocks were freshly piled and stacked in a disjointed manner that it could've fooled almost anyone about it being a natural formation of rock. A few tunnels were on the eastern wall, each leading off is any number of possible directions from where the duo rested. Sighing a small bit, the purple dragon looked back to its sleeping friend, trying its best to examine for injuries of any sort. Thankfully the only issues it noticed were a few bruises across the sleeping dragon's underbelly and on one leg. While relieved that its female friend was alright, the purple dragon sighed. "I'm sorry Cynder...I-I...should've sent you back." The purple dragon said as it put a paw gently on the bruised leg of the black dragon, causing the owner of the bruise to wince in her sleep some before calming down a small bit. Another minute or two of silence later, the purple dragon felt a stirring under its paw as it gently rubbed the black dragon back and forth across her neck in a soothing manner. Startled by this, the purple dragon pulled back a bit to see green eyes open and look around. A groan of pain came from the black dragon as it slowly began to awaken, stretching out in a similar fashion as the purple one but winced when her bruised leg made contact with the ground. Gritting her teeth the black dragon failed to notice the purple one rush to her side and push its body against hers in an effort to keep weight off the hurt paw and leg.
Chuckling a little bit, the black dragoness turned to the purple one. "You're still kind as ever Spyro." The purple dragon now named Spyro dryly chuckled back a bit.
"We can just say I had good friends to help with that." Spyro replied turning to Cynder, locking eyes with the dragoness briefly before quickly turning away, hiding a small flustered expression forming across his face. Cynder hid her face as well while they stood in awkward silence before Spyro broke it with a quick cough. "S-s-so um...I noticed there were three exits but I was waiting on you to choose so we could try to find the way out together..." The purple dragon said in a sheepishly quick manner, gesturing to the three paths the room ventured off into. Cynder nodded some, regaining some of her composure and nodded.
"So which way did you want to try first?" Cynder asked Spyro. Said purple dragon opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out and he instead looked down a small bit with a grunt. Giggling a bit, Cynder rolled her eyes and pulled her black and red wings close to her body, stepped in-front of Spyro, and gestured to the middle passage. "Why don't we try this one?" Cynder asked, turning back to Spyro who nodded a bit behind her, walking up to her side. With a smile Cynder led the way, more like limped in-front of Spyro, through the tunnel. The only sounds made were paw steps and the occasional grunt from Cynder as the two went on, after a few minutes though Spyro was the one to break the silence.
"Hey Cynder, um...about what you said back there...when I was about to pull the world back together, or at least try to..." Spyro began which caused Cynder to mentally freeze. 'Did I say it outloud?!' Cynder mentally exclaimed.
"W-wh-what about it?" Cynder asked quickly, hiding her face a small bit from Spyro's gaze. The purple dragon cocked a brow a small bit at the act but pushed on with the conversation.
"W-when I asked you to leave...wh-why did you choose to stay?" Spyro asked Cynder, which caused the dragoness to sigh a bit in relief. "For all we knew what I had planned wouldn't have worked..." Cydner turned her head to Spyro as they made a left turn and felt the ground begin to elevate upwards.
"Where would I have gone Spyro?" She asked. "The world was falling apart as it was and soon nothing would've been left." She drew in a breath. "I stayed because..." 'Because I love you.' She thought. "...because I realized how much of a good friend you have been to me. Not judging me for what Malefor did to me in my past...and seeing me for well...me..." She answered with a slight blush, thankful the dirt hid it as she tried to explain in a subtle way how she felt towards the purple dragon. Spyro felt equally embarrassed, receiving such a praise.
"Well I'm glad I could make you feel that way." Spyro replied with a smile, turning to the path ahead as it split off in two various directions. Deciding quickly, Spyro took the lead and chose the right path which kept the steady incline upwards towards what the pair felt would be the surface. The occasional drip of water and the distinct smell of limestone filled they duo with hope to be free from the cavern's darkness that at any moment threatened to swallow up the pair without a trace of their existence. "So what do you think we will find when we get back?" Spyro asked, causing Cynder to shudder mid limp and cringe in pain. Sighing a bit the dragoness looked to Spyro, who by now took note of the pain across Cynder's face. "Cynder...?"
"I'm not going back Spyro." She said while looking down.
"What!?" Spyro exclaimed, stopping in place, causing Cynder to stop next to him. "B-but why..? I don't understand..."
"It's not you Spyro...believe me. I'm just..." Cynder said before pausing and looking away. "What will the other dragons who return think whenever they see me huh? Sure the guardians are fine with me now, but not everyone can be easily convinced I'm not that dragon any more." She said while her tail drooped down a small bit, causing Spyro to panic a bit. "I mean look at me...I still look corrupted Spyro..." She said in-between choked breaths.
"Cynder..." Spyro began, before catching the black dragon off-guard by nuzzling her neck. Cynder stood there silently and Spyro nuzzled her neck, calming her nerves greatly. "I'll be with you every step of the way. And hey...if anyone has a problem with you then they have to go through me!" Spyro said, pulling back and raising a forepaw and putting it in a fashion of pointing a thumb to his chest. Cynder giggled at the act and rolled her eyes and smiled a bit. "Sure not everyone can be convinced, but I'm sure with time they can be swayed just by how amazing you are." Spyro said causing both him and Cynder to quickly turn away from each other. Spyro chuckled nervously after saying that as Cynder just took a deep breath to regain herself.
"Thanks Spyro. I-I needed that." She began before continuing forward. "By the way when did you get so wise?" She asked in a somewhat teasing fashion. Spyro chuckled a small bit.
"Well I had a good teach...er." Spyro said before putting his head down some. Cynder realizing what she implied, looked back to Spyro apologetically.
"Sorry Spyro..." She began to which Spyro shook his head.
"It's not your fault Cynder...I just hope they gave him a proper burial..." Spyro replied looking forward again, though Cynder could see a pain behind his purple eyes which hurt her heart a small bit. Coughing a small bit and sniffing the air again, Spyro perked up and walked next to Cynder. "Anyways, I think I can smell the fresh air up ahead, c'mon." He said increasing his pace somewhat. Cynder followed suit and the two slowly reached the mouth of the cave leading to the outside world. The dragons had to squint as their vision adjusted to the new light source of the sun outside.
Expecting to see green hills as far as they eye can see, instead they both gaped a bit in horror when they saw the destruction outside the cave they just exited. The ground was black as ash and trees were burnt up to the point of looking like sharp pointed sticks jutting out from the ash covered landscape. Both dragons' eyes were wide as they saw the remnants of the landscape, paws crunching and sloshing on the burnt grass and ash soaked ground at their paws. Cynder was on the verge of tears, while Spyro was shaking a bit in a fit of rage and realization. 'This can't be how the rest of the world is...right?' Both dragons though simultaneously to themselves as they looked on. Eventually snapping out of their trance on the landscape ahead, the pair nodded to each other and spread their wings wide. Launching into the air with a mighty gust of upward momentum, a swirl of ash and black wood chips was sent flying in all directions as the two ascended into the skies above, taking note of the cloudy skies above their heads.
Opting to stay bellow the clouds for now, the pair leveled off at around 150-186 meters above the ground and observed the ground bellow. Aside from the few foothills and scattered rocks, the landscape looked completely foreign to the two. Black ash and orange leaves and grass littered the lands, what were once grassy meadows and lush green forests were blanketed in a thick haze of soot and smog. The two could see the remains of a village or two bellow as well as dried up streams and rivers which held no doubt the ash remains of whatever lived within the waters. Looking between each other grimly, the two dragons decided to head to where a large patch of orange foliage was located in hopes to find any sort of civilization in the unfamiliar terrain.
The warm air against their scales gave way to a slightly colder temperature, indicating the affects of the fire were not as far reaching as they feared, but they still only passed orange and grey forests and grass wastelands devoid of any vibrant beauty or life that called those places home. Eventually however, the two saw the orange and greys give way to yellows and reds before finally turning into a deep green patchy landscape bellow them. The area, while not as vibrant as one would hope to see when exploring a new land, was a welcome sight to the dragons and helped alleviate a lot of their worries, but in the back of their minds they still worried. Worried not for the destruction continuing, but instead on those who lost everything to the war. It was Spyro to break the silence first to say what he had on his mind. "How many..." Spyro said in a long dejected tone, Cynder turned to the purple and gold dragons beside her and sighed.
"I don't know Spyro..." Cynder replied.
"It's not fair...if only I was faster, if we were stronger we could've..." Spyro began before Cynder cut him off.
"But we did all we could Spyro." Cynder replied with a sigh. "You saved the world in the end...that's what matters." She said to try reassuring Spyro who sighed and nodded a bit. "We should try to find our way back, I don't recognize any of these landmarks." Cynder said with a small huff looking down as the clouds above them began to part ways, lifting the grey veil they seemed to be trapped under.
"I don't either, maybe we can find someone to help out?" Spyro suggested with a mid-air shrug before his stomach growled, "Though um..."
"You don't have to tell me twice." Cynder cut in with a snort of amusement, causing Spyro to look down some embarrassed. "I was about to ask anyways." As if on queue her stomach growled as well. Chuckling Spyro nodded and lead Cynder down into a dive over the trees of the forest, finding a clearing to set down in. The two dragons landed with a thud in the tree line and nodded to each other, taking different paths into the forest to try to find any prey. The hunt had begun.
-Line Break-
Meanwhile in a mountain range close by, a solitary dragon was just waking up in a damp limestone shaft. Yawning a bit as his crimson eyes opened, Ravenwing stretched out his back, legs, wings, and even toes, the act causing a small splashing noise to be heard across the cave he slept in as his paws disturbed the light puddle formation across the stone floor. Shaking himself dry like a dog, Ravenwing decided it would be best to leave this temporary home of his and continue his search. Though the grumble of his stomach told him otherwise. 'Ah damnit...how does a dragon hunt again?' Ravenwing thought to himself with a sign and shaking his head. Padding his way out the cave and taking in the morning air, Ravenwing took note of a light breeze outside pushing towards the cave he slept the night in. 'Well at least I'll have a tail wind.' He thought as his two massive wings opened, angling his highly curved underbelly downwards. With a click of his tongue, Ravenwing shot into the air again causing another shockwave of air and a boom to be heard for a few meters around his location. Rolling his eyes, the grey dragon set off again towards the range of mountains in the distance, hoping to make up for lost time by sleeping the rest of the night. Another yawn escaped the maw of the dragon as he shook his head some to make sure he was fully awake. 'Note to self, next time I sleep in a cave, it better not be damp...' Ravenwing grumbly thought to himself. Huffing a bit, Ravenwing ignored his thoughts for the time being, focusing again on his task that Ignitus gave him. That was, before his stomach grumbled back at him in a desire to eat fresh meat. The obsidian grey and black dragon paused in the air, sighing to himself and shaking his head. "Fine, fine, whatever..." Ravenwing grumbled. "I'll give you, your damned food."
Sniffing the air, Ravenwing was assaulted by a mixture of smells, all of which his draconic brain easily identified as prey animals ranging from sheep to birds in the sky bellow him. Eventually though, he singled out the smell of deer, at which point his lips watered in anticipation of the fresh kill. His eyes dilated and silted a bit as he focused on the ground bellow him and saw a heard of deer bellow his body. Smirking to himself, Ravenwing arced his body in a slow glide to get above and behind the deer, the wing blowing towards his face as to mask his scent from his prey's nose. Instead of diving though like he expected, Ravenwing felt his mind bombarded with new yearnings and desires. One such desire to burn an area around his quarry to trap it in place. As a result, Ravenwing felt warmth be puled from within his body, as if part of his very life essence was used in this effort. What happened next though shocked both his prey and himself. Instead of red fire like he expected, Ravenwing shot out a blast of pure white dragon fire that carved a circle around his prey. The deer, obviously scared for it's safety tried to run but was pinned in the now formed ring of white fire. 'Like shooting fish in a barrel.' Ravenwing thought. Smirking some, The grey and black dragon finished his hunt by swooping down and landing swiftly on the deer, claws digging into it's neck and shoulders causing red blood to ooze from the open wounds. The deer cried out in pain before Ravenwing took his forepaws and snapped the deer's neck, putting it out of it's misery. "Sorry buddy, but I have to eat other wise my stomach will drive me nuts." Ravenwing said to his now deceased prey as he pulled back from his quarry, blood staining his paws as his fire ring slowly died away as the wind blew. 'Hope no one minds me eating right here.' Ravenwing thought with a chuckle, 'Who knows, this may be some 'ancient shrine to the savoir of the world'.' Chuckling more, Ravenwing dug into his meal, first eating the skin and flesh before turning to the innards and eating those as well, leaving behind just the skin and meat on the dear's head and neck behind as the rest of the carcass was reduced to a skeleton. Panting a bit from his quick meal, Ravenwing licked his lips clean, followed by his claws of any blood. Sighing a bit and looking at the now empty clearing and carcass at his paws, Ravenwing grabbed the bony leg of the deer and dragged it with him to a nearby forest edge.
Mentally Ravenwing cursed himself a bit for not having a proper way at disposing of the carcass he just consumed. He debated eating more of it but decided to just bury it instead, maybe giving the tree more nutrient fibers as what was left of the deer decomposed. 'At least you can still provide for your herd in some way righ?...' Ravenwing thought as he finished covering the carcass with dirt. 'Oh what am I thinking?' Ravenwing huffed while his ears flattened. Sighing again, the dragon was about to take off into the distance, but was stopped when the wind changed. The change of wind revealed a new smell to the dragon, one that was unfamiliar at first, but rationally his mind was drawing blanks. It wasn't until he took a wider sniff of the air did he realized what he smelt was another dragon. A gulp came from his form as he stared off into the woods. 'Ah shit, now I might have to explain myself to someone.' He thought as he stepped into the woods to pursue the owner of the scent. Keeping low to the ground to avoid being seen, Ravenwing made his way quietly thought the forest, careful to avoid any and all loose twigs or leaves. His fae-like ears perked at any sounds of the forest as a few birds chirped in the tree canopy above him, masking what ever sound his paws made as they hit the ground.
Eventually, after a few minutes of continuous walking, Ravenwing found himself on the very edge of a clearing by a line of shrubs. The clearing has a few patches of flowers and dark green grass that surrounded a small pond in the middle. Poking his head into the shrubbery, Ravenwing heard a voice near the other side of the clearing. Turning his head in that direction, he saw a black dragon with a red underbelly, sleek and slender form, wing blades and a tail blade that sort-of resembled his two but not exactly, and white glyphs on its shoulders. Green eyes seemed to dart around the clearing as if searching for something before a second later it came back with a sheep carcass between it's forepaws. dragging it along the ground like a human would pull a dolly. A small sigh escaped his lips as he watched the dragon drag the sheep into the clearing and began to eat, shortly joined by another dragon to which made Ravenwing's eyes widen a small bit. 'Let's see that old blue geezer said a purple dragon with orange underbelly, wing tips, and horns...' Ravenwing mused as he looked at the purple dragon who landed next to the black dragon. Ignoring their conversation Ravenwing continued to watch and smirked. 'Looks like I'm done already then. Hell yeah, not even a full day or so passed by...' Ravenwing said before getting a chill down his spine. Shaking the feeling off and smiling in contempt, he decided to leave the forest and try to knock himself out hard enough to tell Ignitus that his friend was alive. However, as he turned to leave, he let his guard down on where he was standing causing a branch to snap underpaw. 'Shit...' He thought as he heard the two dragons behind him stop talking, his nose told him that one was slowly advancing on his position. Panic swirled a bit in Ravenwing's mind as he turned back to find the black dragon advance to his location. He wanted to move but his paws were locked in place. Turning back, he saw just as the black face of the first dragon he saw peak through the bush. By the time the dragon poked through the bush, Ravenwing mustered the strength to move his legs and dove for cover behind a tree. Keeping his breathing silent as possible, Ravenwing listened for any more advances that the black dragon made, to his relief were none. "huh...I thought I saw..." He heard a female voice say from behind his hiding spot. It sounded younger than him, that much was for certain, but he reasoned it was just due to his hearing sensitivity and not anything to meditate on. Eventually, the obsidian grey and black dragon heard the back pedal of the black dragon though the bush, turning back, he saw the black dragon trot back over to the purple one which caused his ears to perk up a bit.
"What was it Cynder?" The purple dragon asked with a cocked brow after finishing his skinning of the sheep the black dragon caught. The black dragon looked back to the treeline towards where Ravenwing was observing and shook its head.
"I don't know Spyro, I thought I heard something over there, but it must've been a squirrel or something." The now named Cynder replied shaking its, no her, head a bit is dismay. She took one quick glance over to the shrubs again, right at where Ravenwing was observing, and her eyes slightly widened. Ravenwing blinked some before realizing what she must've saw. 'Fuck my irises must stick out from the green.' Ravenwing thought with a small sigh. Gritting his teeth, he watched as the purple dragon noticed the quick shift in posture of the black one and put a paw on her shoulder, shaking her frame a small bit.
"Cynder you alright...?" Spyro asked, causing Cynder to break from her trance. Nodding quickly, Cynder looked back at Spyro who looked towards where Cynder was staring and blinked a bit in confusion.
"Hm-o-oh I'm fine I thought I saw something again...hehehe must've been the cavern's air still playing tricks on me." Cynder said with a nervous giggle and trying to draw Spyro's attention away. Spyro looked back at her confused and shrugged.
"Oh ok, well I skinned the sheep your you." Spyro said, offering Cynder's catch back to her. Nodding some in thanks, both failed to notice as Ravenwing slipped back into the trees with a sigh of relief.
Reaching the edge of the forest, Ravenwing opened his wings wide and launched back into the sky, pulling out all the stops as he did so. "Well that was easier than expected...now to just find a way to talk to big blue again and," Ravenwing mused while reaching past the clouds. Quickly his musing came to a halt as his ears flattened. "And finding any sort of way to contact him is probably with something he referred to as the 'Guardians.'" He said with a grumble, hovering in place as he looked to the mountains with a sigh. Shrugging off his annoyance, Ravenwing sped off into the distance, trying to reach the dragon city he was informed about to seek answers on where the 'Guardians' resided.
-Back with Spyro and Cynder-
The pair ate in silence, both eating to satisfy their hunger which left little room for conversation between bites. After a few minute's though, the two had completely devoured their respective meals, buried them and then washed off in the pond. 'I wonder who those eyes belonged to?' Cynder thought as she looked back to where she saw to burning crimson orbs staring from. 'Certainly not any animal I've seen before...unless it's a remnant of one of Malefor's corruptions.' Snapping from her thoughts as she dunked her head bellow the water to clean it, she was pulled back to the surface by Spyro, who was nudging her side a bit. "What's up?" She asked.
"Well I heard a boom off in the distance and some weird shape flying away ahead of us, looked kind-of like a dragon." Spyro said gesturing upwards, to which Cynder looked and saw a dark figure slowly disappearing over the tree canopy as it got further and further away. "Was thinking maybe we can ask them for directions since they are the first person we've seen since...well..." Spyro didn't finish the statement because he didn't need to. Cynder nodded a bit in understanding and unfurrowed her wings a bit. Spyro did the same after cleaning himself off and the two took off from the clearing after the black figure in the sky, hoping to at least have a civil conversation with the dragon they saw.
Scanning the horizon, They quickly found the figure just as it reached the edges of a mountain range the two had failed to notice a while ago. The mild surprise of their laser like focus on the ground brought and embarrassed chuckle between the two dragons as they flew in silence, trying to stay above and behind the figure as it twisted and turned between some of the lower mountain tops and ducked into a canyon. The two hear something unusual from the figure as well, a roar from the dragon echoed throughout the canyon it flew though as it skimmed the small river at the bottom of the canyon with enough speed to cause a wake behind it. The roar itself wasn't anything new, all dragons could roar, but this one sounded like it had a purpose, like it exclaimed something neither of the young dragons could understand. Spyro and Cynder barely could keep up as the dragon arced back and went though some tight rock formations before diving down between a naturally formed rock arcway. The dive caused enough of a slow-down in the dragon's horizontal movement to cause the now nearly panting Spyro and Cynder to catch up to it enough to possibly shout to it and get a response. "Excuse us!" Spyro shouted down at the dragon, the dragon paused and looked up, widened crimson eyes landing on both of them which made Cynder freeze up again. Though by looking up, the dragon failed to notice as a rock formation was directly in front of it. Turning back to face the wall, it quickly tried to stop moving while changing directions upward, almost succeeding, but clipping a tail-blade against a rock causing a loud clang to be heard across the canyon surrounded by stony green peaks. Spyro and Cynder cringed a bit as the dragon stopped to hover in place, huffing a bit it turned to the purple and black dragon that distracted it.
"What do you want?" It asked flatly, huffing a small bit and grumbling in annoyance.
"We were just looking for directions." Spyro said sheepishly as the dragon glared at him with squinted eyes. "Sorry for almost making you crash, we were just looking for a city named Warfang. Do you happen to know where it is?" What surprised the purple dragon and his black dragon friend however was that the bigger dragon bellow them shrugged, letting some of its..fur?..drop over its left horn. A dragon having any sort of hair was new and weird to the pair, but they didn't dwell on it as they waited for a reply.
"I mean...if I said yes would you believe me?" The dragon replied with a shrug, turning back to the horizon. "Was told last night it was through this range a bit, the du-cheetah said something like 5-700 links away from the village but I don't know what the fuck an link even is." The Spyro and Cynder dropped their heads a little bit as the unknown dragon continued. "Why? You and your girlfriend going on a date?" It said with a smirk. While not knowing what the term 'girlfirend' meant, Spyro and Cynder certainly knew what the word 'date' meant and blushed, turning away from each other. That's when it hit them, this dragon never once revered to them by any fancy title like everyone else they met. The thought confused and disturbed them a bit. 'How long have we been out?' They collectively thought before being pulled from their thoughts by a snapping like sound from the larger dragon. "Sheesh love birds are always annoying at times...anyways is there anything else or where you two going to ask anything else?" Another blush was earned at the lovebirds comment before Cynder stopped in place.
"Wait did you say 5-700 links?" She asked, earning a nod from the grey dragon. "That's at least 4 weeks of flying Spyro." She commented turning to the purple dragon who nodded some and eyed the grey dragon some.
"Say um...if you're heading that way yourself, mind if we fly with you. We are kind of still unfamiliar with the landscape since the whole war and all..." Spyro asked which caused the grey dragon to cock a brow.
"Great now there's a war going on?" It rhetorically asked itself with a groan. "Let me guess it was a food stock rebellion..." He said which caused both Spyro and Cynder to chuckle a bit at the thought of a sheep on two legs with a shield and helmet before shaking their heads.
"No...the one against the 'Dark Master' and his army? The great destroyer..." Cynder began with earned more confused stares. "Do you not know any of this?"
"Not a clue." The dragon replied with a shrug. "Sounds like the start of a bad joke to be honest." Spyro and Cynder looked at the dragon incredulously.
"You don't know...h-how long have we been out then?" Spyro asked with a bit of fear it his voice.
"Well from what I heard...everyone was worried about a dragon who disappeared a few weeks ago. He matched you quite easily, had the same name as well. They went on and on about him being the 'dragon of legend' or some other stuff that doesn't really make sense." The dragon replied. "Though got to admit, they were a bit speciest due to my scale color which is weird." It mused with a shrug as it decided to land on the rocky outcropping it nearly crashed into. Spyro and Cynder landed in-front of it only now noticing this dragon was 1.5 times taller than them and had double the body and tail length. The wings were equally gigantic as well they noticed as the appendages folded along their owner's sides. "Mentioned something about a 'Terror of The Skies' as well but with the way stories are passed around I'm sure it was exaggerated." It commented. Cynder was about to put her head down and then raised a brow, 'He doesn't know?' She thought with a surprise. Spyro was equally as surprised as Cynder by the comments made by the grey dragon. "But to answer your first question...I guess you can, I mean more able bodies means more food right?" It said with a shrug as it turned away from the pair. Spyro and Cynder nodded a bit as the three dragons took to the air.
"By the way...we never got your name sir." Cynder said, which caused the dragon to roll its eyes.
"Never got yours officially either, but its fine I guess. Call me Ravenwing, a...pleasure...to make your acquaintance." The now named grey dragon replied as they flew.
