Title: Raindrops

Disclaimer: Ed is not my son, T- T

I just don't show my feelings well… But, I thought you would realize it by now…

Everyone predicted that it'll rain today. The sun was covered with dark clouds, which happen to blend in well in this situation. The whole military behind me were speechless, but I hear a voice yelling,

"Papa! Papa!"

Henceforth, I hear Armstrong trying to delay his tears and pain. Then, I see Taisa with his head down, showing no reaction at all. All I can do, all we can do is to wish Hughes to rest in peace.

Alchemy is useless when trying to resurrect a dead body. Even if it is used with restricted taboos, no soul knows what the outcome might turn out to be.

Everybody turned back and went back to their milieu. However, Taisa was standing still, with no words coming out from his mouth. I, too, stand next to him putting my head down, waiting for him to turn back to reality. The wind is blowing from nowhere, dazzling the grass to lean each other like dominoes.

"It's starting to rain."

I look up toward the cloudy sky, but there was no sign of raindrops. Then, I look back at Taisa's face and I see the raindrop: a drop of luminous tears gradually falling from his eyes. Once again, I put my head down, and reply,

"Yes, sir."

After few minutes later, Taisa and I walk slowly toward our parking area. From here to there is an extensive distance. We pass through numerous graves with unknown names and flowers. I wonder how long do we have to walk?

Taisa suddenly stops and turns his head to his left. As I turned my head to the same direction, I saw Hughes' wife shedding tears. She was yelling with compassion and pain that will be sealed inside her heart. It is better to leave her alone. She has to face her own obstacles and keep on walking.

"Lieutenant Hawkeye,"

"Yes, sir."

"Riza…"

I was stunned when he called my first name.

"Y-Yes, sir?"

Taisa gave out a long sigh, and said,

"Would you mind if I… borrow your shoulder?"

It is my first time seeing Taisa like these- frail. One stroke can make him shatter into million pieces. My heart feels sympathy.

"No, sir."

Taisa grabs my hips with both of his hands, and wrap me.

I feel Taisa's chin on my left shoulder.

I feel his body.

I feel his pain, as the rain started to fall. The real rain…

"Arigato, Riza."
