A/N: Just decided to revisit this story as a St. Patrick's Day feel good. I want to thank a reader who pointed out with my last update that General is not a rank in the NAVY. I have changed Fitz's title to Admiral, and I apologize to any military for the discrepancy. I meant no disrespect. Enjoy and may the Luck of the Irish be upon you.
"Good morning my princess warrior. How is daddy's girl today?" Fitz had just woken up this bright Saturday morning. He finally had the weekend off after working endless hours this past week at the Pentagon. The conflict in the Middle East had him staying later each night. He was missing his family.
Technically, he didn't have off completely. He was going to be leading the League of Aviation Pilots in the St. Patrick's Day parade tomorrow, but at least today he had off and he wanted to spend it with his favorite two girls.
"Daddy!" Brielle jumped up from her art table into her father's arms. She gave him the tightest hug around his neck. "I have missed you so much this week. Promise you're going to tell me a story today and tonight, please. I feel so empty without your stories."
"Aww, I have missed you too. I promise, I will tell you two stories today, but only one will be about your mom and me, the other we will read from a book, is that ok."
"Yes, that's great." She kissed him on the cheek and jumped back into her chair. "Look daddy, do you like the shamrock I am making?"
Fitz hadn't glanced over at the shamrock yet. He looked in the kitchen, but he didn't see Olivia. "Hey Brielle, where's your mom?"
"I'm right here" Olivia came out from the spare room. In a few weeks they were going to be turning it into a nursery for the arrival of the new baby. They hadn't yet told Brielle, but they were planning on soon. Liv had just found out the gender, but Fitz wanted to be surprised with Brielle. They wouldn't be able to hide it much longer since Olivia was beginning to get the slightest baby bump.
Olivia was carrying two small jars of glitter. One was green, one was gold. "Here you go sweet pea, I found the glitter for your shamrock." She placed the jars on the table and walked over to Fitz.
"Good morning my Mister, did you sleep well?" Olivia gave him a small peck on the lips.
"I sure did, thanks for letting me sleep in, do you need any help with anything?"
Olivia shook her head. "I am good, but why don't you help Brielle with the glitter, so it doesn't get all over the carpet. I'll make you a few pancakes."
"Yes, daddy, you can help, sit down next to me."
Fitz finally looked at the craft his daughter was making. She had a pattern of a shamrock and several pieces of green construction paper. She was tracing the pattern on one piece of the green paper.
"Do you know daddy, when you look at a Shamrock you can see three hearts. The hearts are connected."
"I never looked at it like that, but yes, you're right, it does look like three hearts. So, who are you making a shamrock for?"
Olivia handed him a glass of orange juice and put her hand on his shoulder. She needed to be there for his reaction.
"Oh, I am making a shamrock for Morgan. He's my boyfriend, but he doesn't know yet. This side will be my heart, this side will be his heart, and the heart on top will be ours connected." Brielle never looked up from her cutting now.
Fitz began coughing up the orange juice he just swallowed. He stood up and ran to the kitchen before he spit it out of his mouth. Liv followed closely behind him.
Brielle didn't even realize what happened as the she was too involved in making sure her shamrock was cut perfectly.
"Livvie, what is she talking about a boyfriend?" Before Liv could answer, Brielle explained.
"Oh, don't worry daddy, you will meet him at the parade tomorrow. His mom is in the Army though. They will be moving to Italy next month, I am sad about it, that's why I want our hearts to stay connected through this shamrock." She looked admiringly at the now cut out shamrock and was thinking what to do next.
"Aww, come here, Fitz." Liv put her arms around his waist. "It's just a little kid thing, don't get all worked up over it. Besides I don't think Morgan Duncan has a diamond ring stashed in his jacket. I certainly don't think he has a house to take Brielle to and propose."
Fitz kissed her forehead. "Well, if she is anything like her mother, he is going to have a hard time getting that done." He walked back over to Brielle ready to face his daughter.
"You know Brielle, I asked your mom to marry me on St. Patrick's Day. It wasn't easy though; I didn't think she was going to say yes."
Brielle put her shamrock down. She climbed into Fitz's lap. "Tell me daddy. Was she being silly again? I thought you wanted her to look at houses with you."
"Oh, I did, but that made her nervous and I didn't hear from her for two weeks."
Liv looked over at them both. Besides the brown eyes, Brielle was the spitting image of Fitz. She took a deep breath thinking back to that day. She was scared, not nervous, but the overwhelming love she has for her daughter and husband now she wished she didn't make it so hard for Fitz.

"This is Olivia Pope, leave a message." Beep.
"Olivia please, what is going on. I have been calling you for two weeks now. You're not returning my calls, I have stopped by the office, by your place, just call me, tell me what is happening. "
Liv looked at her phone buzzing and lighting up on the big conference table. Abby looked at her. "How long do you think you can outrun that man. He isn't going to let up. Right now, he may be busy at work, but he isn't going to let up. He is in love with you, you need to be true to your feelings."
"Abby, he wants me to pick out a house with him. I am not ready to pick out houses. He wants a house in the suburbs of Virginia. I am not cut out to be an Admiral's wife, to be a soccer mom, to hang curtains, I am just not….no, I can't. What if we fight, argue, or things get like they got with Russell? I don't know, Abby. "
"You can, you are just denying it. Liv, he isn't Russell, Fitz loves you. Go pick out a house. It's not like he's asking you to marry him. I can see you making green pancakes for breakfast before St. Patrick's Day. Oh and I can give you my recipe for my green sugar cookies. Yep I can so see…." She stopped because the glare Liv was giving to her froze her a bit.
"Here's some more." Quinn walked into the conference room holding a huge pile of small green papers. "Huck asked if we could fold some and keep some unfolded, he wants us to give them out at the parade tomorrow." She looked at Abby then to Olivia. "What's going on?"
"She's ignoring his calls again."
Quinn shot a look at Liv. "Seriously, Liv, what the hell. You are so in love with him, it's so obvious, what is the problem now."
Liv went to speak, but Abby did it for her. "He wants her to pick a house with him."
"Liv that's great. Maybe he will propose."
Abby smacked Quinn's shoulder. "No, maybe he won't", Abby said with grinded teeth.
Quinn looked confused. "Ok, maybe he won't."
Liv stood up and looked at the cracked glass display behind them. She took a deep breath. "I haven't talked to him in two weeks. We went together to look at one house, a place in Silver Springs Virginia. Silver Springs," she repeated. She blew air out of her mouth. "I don't know Quinn, I am scared."
"Liv, do you love him?"
"I can't stop thinking about him. I am having trouble sleeping. I…yeah, I love him."
"Then answer his calls. Besides I want to be a maid of honor, so you'll be fulfilling my dream also."
"Quinn," Abby said. "Stop with the marriage talk, besides I am going to be the maid of honor, right Liv?"
Liv buried her face in her hands. "I can't do this." She ran out of the office and into the bathroom.
She looked in the mirror. Abby and Quinn were right. She loved him, she should be with him, just everything moved so fast, it scared her.
"Hello beautiful Livvie." They had settled down for a movie. Liv didn't remember much after that. She was tired and she had fallen asleep laying on his lap watching the movie. Now, she woke up in his bed, still at the hotel.
She rubbed her eyes. "I fell asleep huh?"
"You sure did. You didn't even move when I carried you in here. You just cuddled up next to me and continued to sleep."
"Not much company, am I? Sorry about that Fitz."
"I'm not. Having you in my arms all night, that's the best feeling ever."
Liv smiled. She pulled him down for a morning kiss, but once she felt his lips, she couldn't let them go.
She felt his hand go up her thigh, slowly, giving her a moment to adjust to the feeling and she immediately felt the ache in her core. Her kiss went deeper, and she let out a moan when she felt his fingers enter her.
He pulled back and brought the kisses to her neck as she put her head slightly back enjoying the feeling of his touch all over her clit and inside her. He began circular motions and waited for the sound he loved to hear, her "I'm close moan."
"Fitz" she whispered.
He pulled his fingers out, and without so much as a warning, he was inside her, as he guided her head to the pillow. He saw her mouth opened in pleasure and her eyes closed tight. He felt her knees bend just a bit, welcoming him to go deeper.
She rubbed her hands all over his back as she let her body just be moved by these thrusts in and out of her body. Their lips connected once more, and Liv could feel her walls closing. She buried her face in the crook of his neck as her climax overtook her body and she felt herself in the familiar pleasure she was getting used to him giving her.
He wasn't far behind, and as he rolled off her, he looked lovingly at her. "I can get used to this every morning. Are you excited to go look at a few more houses today?"
Liv didn't answer right away, and Fitz continued. "It's March 1st. The realtor said people are moving out with the first of the month, there are a few on the market that…." He stopped. "Livvie, what's wrong?"
"Nothing" but she couldn't lie. "Fitz, I don't know. Do you want me to look at the house because you want my opinion or because you want…." She couldn't say it.
"Because I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Livvie, that's why. I am not holding back my feelings anymore and I wish you wouldn't. Do you love me?"
She looked in his eyes, his pleading eyes that looked so sad. I do love you Fitz with every ounce of my being. You have been on my mind from the moment I left that cabin on the Naval Base. I just can't seem to wrap myself around the reality of it though, the thought that someone may love me as much back.
Of course, she didn't say those words. She just couldn't. Everything he did was right. He loved her, held her, made his intentions clear from the moment they met up again. Then what is your problem, Olivia?
"I don't know what happened with Russell, but I am not Russell. I respect that you had three years with the creep, but I am not him and if that's what's holding you back, you need to tell yourself that I am different. I am going to shower, when I come out, please have an answer for me."
Liv watched him walk away. It wasn't Russell, ok, it was. What if she made a decision and it was wrong, what if Fitz…she stopped herself? She knew in her gut Fitz was genuine, a kindhearted loving man, and any woman would want him as a husband.
Just the very thought of the word sent a fear through her. She got dressed, left a note she'll call him later and headed home.
Present Day
"Oh no, mommy, you left daddy all alone. You didn't even tell him you were leaving."
"I didn't, wasn't that terrible Boo. But what did I tell you, he was like Prince Charming. He kept trying until he found his Cinderella."
"mm hmm," Brielle said, "and you didn't even lose a shoe." She finished her green glitter and formed a capital letter B on the left side.
"Your mom is worth it Brielle. Don't ever forget how much I love you and her and…."
"Brielle, that's a nice letter B, are you using the gold glitter next?" Olivia interrupted Fitz. Fitz looked at her. Not yet, she mouthed but didn't say it. She wanted Brielle's full attention when they told her about the baby, right now she was really into her shamrock.
"You know daddy, mommy made green pancakes and later we are making green sugar cookies with Aunt Abby's recipe. I can't wait for the parade tomorrow. I finally get to march with you. Maybe Morgan can walk with me, we can hold hands."
Fitz took a deep breath. He looked over at Liv for support, but she was plating the pancakes. "So anyway." Fitz continued with a clenched jaw.

"I think you're absolutely crazy for stringing him along. He is everything you would want in a man. He's charming, good looking, rich and the top rank in the Navy. He looks delicious in that uniform."
"Okay, Abby, let's just focus on what Huck asked us to do." Liv and Abby were waiting for Quinn, but she texted she was tied up in parade traffic. Huck wanted to give out ads about the community business. It was going to be up and running in a week, and they needed clients.
Much to their resistance, Huck had them dressed all in green with green top hats to stand out. On the top hat was a big print of the address of the office. 752 18th Street. Liv thought she looked ridiculous in green, but it suited Abby and her red hair blended right in.
The parade began and Liv and Abby began at the end of the parade route and followed opposite of the way it was going. Abby was on one side handing out green beads and the ad, and Liv on the other side.
About two blocks up the route was Fitz with his Aviation buddies. He spotted Quinn walking quickly amongst the crowd and she was looking for someone. Fitz's stomach turned. If Quinn was here, Liv was here.
He walked over to her and tapped her shoulder. "Quinn, where is Liv."
Quinn looked at Fitz. "Uhm, she's" Quinn moved her eyes and bit her lip.
"Please, Quinn, just tell me." Fitz pleaded.
Quinn looked down at her phone. The text came in from Liv as she looked at it. Quinn tightened her lips. She nodded her head up the road. "She's about two blocks up."
"Thank you, Quinn." Fitz almost sprinted. He whizzed through all the green, bumped a few drinking teenagers on the one corner, and ignored the shouts from his Aviation club on where he was off to.
He stopped. There was a marching band right in front of him, and he saw her, almost had to laugh seeing her all in green, but he focused on her. Abby bumped him, purposely and he looked at her.
"Oh. My. God. She's going to freak out Fitz."
"Good." He walked directly towards her, having the drummers in the marching band move to avoid getting bumped by them.
He scooped her up from the back, holding her cradle style and when the papers fell from her hands, and she looked at him, he buried his lips on to hers. Some children began picking the papers up as everyone directed their attention from the band to the kissing couple on the street.
Liv heard whistles and cheers, clapping and chants, but she couldn't take her lips from his. She cupped his cheek, and she felt her eyes grow wet with tears. "I am sorry, Fitz, so sorry." She continued to kiss him, as he settled her down.
He took two ten-dollar bills from his pocket and handed them to the kids that picked up the papers. "Could you ask your parents if you can give those out." The kids were stunned at the money and said "Sure" as they ran off.
He pulled Liv to a hug, and he heard his name being yelled. His Aviation club was going by. "Yeah, Fitz, get your Liv!"
Liv looked at him. Fitz shrugged. "You are all I talk about Livvie, don't you get it, I love you, I am in love with you, that's not going to change no matter how many times you run."
Liv nodded. She understood that now. She looked up at him. She missed him for two weeks. Stupid move by her to run, thinking she could run from love. "I love you too Fitz."
He took her hand and led her through the crowd.
Within 20 minutes they were standing inside an empty house. Liv was looking around. She still had on her green outfit, but it didn't matter, it was just her and Fitz. The house had the right feel, it made her feel at home.
"Four bedrooms Liv, that includes a master one for…well, it has a master bedroom upstairs, the other two rooms are down here. Come here, there's a big backyard too. It has an in-ground pool. I know how you like to swim, you know, when you visit."
She didn't want to visit. She wanted to live there. She wanted to build a life with him. She wasn't going to fool herself anymore. She walked out to the backyard. The pool was covered, but it was big enough to do laps.
She turned to tell him it was perfect. Everything was perfect. The house was perfect, the rooms were perfect, the street was perfect. "Fitz every…" She looked down at him. He was on one knee.
"I'm not waiting any longer Olivia, it's now or never. Will you marry me?"
She just fell into an embrace of him. She was crying into his neck as he held her close. She was nodding her head yes, the whole time. She felt him take her left hand and felt the ring slip on.
Present day
"Wow, mommy, you didn't even say yes, you just nodded. I love our pool. You teach me how to swim better every summer. I am joining the swim team this year, right mom."
"You bet, Boo."
"Look dad." Brielle held up the shamrock.
She had the middle clover filled with gold and green glitter and the right one with a capital M in gold glitter. Fitz looked up from eating his pancakes.
"This is B for me, this is M for Morgan, and the glitter comes together as one heart, just like you and mommy."
Fitz dropped his fork on to his plate. "Liv, I can't do this. Brielle, I think that's…"
"So sweet Boo, let the glitter dry and come over by mom and dad, ok." Liv gave him a stop it look with a smirk. It did look like he was going to vomit. Liv held in her laughter.
Brielle set the shamrock down. Fitz looked like he was going to have a fainting episode, still looking at the "love shamrock" his daughter put together. Liv grabbed his hand, interlocking her fingers with his.
Brielle sat across from them. "I am so happy you said yes mommy, because now I am here."
"That's right baby girl. You know what else?"
"What?" She asked with her brown eyes widening.
"Fitz, why don't you tell your daughter what's going on."
Fitz wrapped his arm around Liv's shoulder. He looked at his beautiful young daughter. "You're going to be a big sister Brielle; we are having another baby."
Brielle's mouth opened wide, and she covered her hands over it. She then clenched her hands into to fists and squealed a big cheer in the air. "Yay, I am going to be a big sister. Are you having a girl or a boy mommy?"
Liv reached over to one of the shelves. "Well, Brielle, daddy didn't even want to know that until you did, so you are both going to find out together. Are you ready?"
Brielle jumped into Fitz's lap. "I am ready now mommy."
Liv put a hat on Fitz's head. It was like the top hat she was wearing at the St. Patrick's Day parade that day he proposed.
"Tell daddy what it says, Boo."
"It says: Girl Dad. Oh yes, another girl."
"I don't know Fitz; will your heart be able to handle it?"
Fitz had tears in his eyes. He pulled them both close to him, rubbing Liv's bump on her belly. "My heart will always be on overdrive for my three girls."
Brielle jumped down. "Can I use your phone daddy; I have to call Morgan. I will give him the shamrock, so he can remember me in Italy, but my love has to be focused on my baby sister. I have to call it off."
She went to the room to make that call and Fitz looked at Liv.
"Call what off?"
Liv shrugged. "Maybe she was going to propose to him at the parade tomorrow."
Fitz turned a pale white, and Liv laughed. "Could be worse, she could meet someone in a bar and lie about her identity."
He kissed her, a small kiss on her lips. "You have made me the happiest leprechaun in the world Mrs. Grant."
"I love you so much Admiral. Let's go pick out some hideous green outfits for the parade tomorrow." They walked past the art table and Fitz stopped to look at the shamrock.
"Don't even think about it Mister. Maybe you should focus on your next story. I think she is going to want to know every detail about craziness of the wedding."
Happy St. Patrick's Day
