A/N: Fitz as a father, with his and Liv's children. We never got it on the show, but I can use my imagination. Happy reading and enjoy.
Chapter 5
"Goodnight room, Goodnight moon. Goodnight starts, goodnight air."
"Goodnight noises everywhere." Brielle's arms went out to the spread the room, signaling her everywhere. "Thank you for reading to me mommy. I am going to read to Soriyah. I am so happy daddy gets to have her before Father's Day."
Olivia poked her young daughter's nose. "He has you also, Boo. Are you excited for the father/daughter dance? I can't wait until he sees you in your beautiful dress."
Brielle nodded. "Daddy is going to be the most handsome daddy there." The Pentagon was having a father/daughter dance in honor of Father's Day. Fitz and Liv had Huck on standby just in case Liv hadn't had the baby yet.
Her due date was exactly on Father's Day, but their little girl had different plans. She wanted out and on June 6th, Soriyah Olivia Grant was born. She weighed in at 7lbs 4oz and was 19 inches long. For as much pain as the little one gave Olivia during her pregnancy, the labor was quick and smooth.
Liv looked over now at the new picture on Brielle's dresser. It was from the hospital bed. Fitz was sitting, his arm around Liv, Brielle was in between Liv's legs, like she was now, and Soriyah was in the loving arms of her big sister, sound asleep. Brielle was not smiling at the camera, instead she was looking lovingly at the new life she carried in her arms.
"Your baby sister made sure he would be able to go with you, that's why Soriyah came out early, she didn't want her big sister to miss the dance."
Brielle nodded in agreement. "Soon, daddy can take us both to the father/daughter dance. Do you think daddy is happy he has two girls, mommy?"
"He is more than happy. Both of you fill his heart with love." They turned towards the sound the baby monitor was making. Soriyah had been sleeping, but now some grunts were coming from the nursery, and out came the tiniest of cries.
"Uh-oh, sounds like she's hungry mommy, do you have to go feed her?"
"No, daddy has a bottle ready that I had made, we're good to finish another book if you want."
Brielle was just about to answer her mother when they heard Fitz enter the nursery. They sat quietly and listened. Liv thought her heart would explode, and Brielle was smiling so big, Liv could feel it from behind.
"Hey, my baby Soriyah, shhh, daddy is here. Are you hungry, huh, yeah, you're hungry? I think mommy fell asleep with your sister, but daddy is prepared."
Brielle's shoulders lifted as she smiled, and she covered her mouth, so not to make a sound. Liv picked her up to her lap, and together they continued to listen to the conversation Fitz was having with his newborn.
"Let's get in the rocking chair." Soriyah squealed a little squeal, and quickly grabbed the nipple as Fitz put it by her mouth. "There you go sweet pea, drink away." Liv couldn't see, as Fitz placed a gentle kiss on his new daughter's forehead.
Fitz looked lovingly at her. Brielle was all him, but Soriyah was all Olivia. She had light brown smooth skin, slightly darker than Brielle, and her facial features were all Liv. She had dark hair, and the only thing Fitz gave her were the blue eyes that were closing back to sleep. They were big blue eyes, shaped just like her momma's and Fitz couldn't love three people more than he loved his three girls.
"She must be falling back asleep which is what you should be doing also big sister." Liv put Brielle's head on her pillow and handed her Tiger. Brielle, put Tiger in the crook of her neck. Liv bent down and Brielle gave her a kiss on her cheek.
"I love you so much mommy. Thank you for bringing Soriyah safely into this world." She watched as Liv looked lovingly into her brown eyes.
Liv kissed her daughter on her forehead. "Aww, Boo, you're welcome and thank you for helping mommy so much. She's only a few days old, but she already loves you." Liv reached over to get the monitor but stopped as she heard Fitz again.
Brielle's head turned towards the monitor, and she smiled again. She heard her father begin singing softly to his youngest daughter.
"Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars.
Liv looked at Brielle. "You know your father used to sing Brown Eyed Girl to you when you were that little."
"I remember" she said. She wasn't remembering that particular time, but Fitz did occasionally still sing the song to Brielle.
"I'm sure you do. This must be his song to Soriyah." Liv smiled at the monitor hearing her husband continue.
Fitz had stopped feeding Soriyah and put his finger in her hand. She gripped it, having fell back asleep in her daddy's arms.
"In other words
Hold my hand
In other words, and Fitz pecked his baby's cheek
"Baby, kiss me.'
He stopped and put Soriyah over his shoulder to gently pat her back. He walked slowly around the room, rocking her now in his arms. His head was cuddled against her as she slept on her daddy's shoulder.
Hearing the quiet now, Liv turned to Brielle to tell her to go to sleep, but she already was asleep, her father's voice soothing her as well. Liv covered her up and took the monitor to her room before joining Fitz in the nursery.
He was staring out the window, still holding Soriyah in his arms. He didn't hear Liv enter and she wrapped her arms around his waist, kissing her new daughter gently on her head.
"She's so comfortable in her daddy's arms." Liv rested her head against his back.
"Just like her momma." Fitz rubbed Liv's hands. "Let me put her down in the crib so I can hold you in my arms."
Lying in bed now, together in the quiet of their home, Liv rested her head on her husband's chest. Fitz rubbed her shoulder. "You were a champ bringing Soriyah into this world. I love you so much for that, Livvie, don't you ever forget that."
Liv closed her eyes to his words. "I had a great helper, dad, I couldn't have done it without you, and I love you more than so much for that." She began to rub his chest.
"I remember the night she was conceived." Fitz whispered.
"You would Mister." Liv laughed. Having just gave birth, there was no love making happening anytime soon. Fitz didn't let that stop him, he still spoke with his baritone voice, giving Olivia chills.
"I had just told Brielle the story of when we met, and you were listening." He whispered a bit deeper in his voice now.
"Mmm hmm." Liv shook her head against his chest. "You tell her stories so tenderly, she loves that about you." Liv gave him a soft kiss on his chest.
"When she fell asleep, I could think of nothing but that night, how you made me feel, how I fell in love with you, and how I wanted a life with you. Funny because I didn't have a clue who you really were." He kissed her forehead.
"Well, I didn't know who you were either, so don't even go there." She poked his stomach, and he grunted.
"God, Livvie, how I fell in love with you. Now look at us. Two beautiful baby girls. I am a father to two beautiful girls, thanks to you." He rolled her under him and began kissing her, thanking her for their life together.
Her hand was on the back of his neck, rubbing down his back and back up to his neck again. Ending the beautiful kiss, she held him for a hug. "I know how difficult I was, yet I wouldn't change what we have for anything Fitz. So, Happy Father's Day. That one little girl of yours is looking so forward to your dance."
"My first father/daughter dance. I can't dance Liv; she's going to be embarrassed."
"Are you crazy, she is going to be so proud. You think she cares if you can dance, she just wants to show off her daddy, just like she did with me at the mommy and me tea."
"Maybe we can practice dancing a bit tomorrow, you and me. I can feel down your back, grab your gorgeous ass." His hand was now going down her shoulder, down the side of her body, and back up again.
"Don't turn me on like this Fitz, knowing I can't do anything. It's not fair." She pulled him down, kissing his neck, and making her way back to his lips. She could play too, and her hand grabbed his fine ass, and rubbed it gently under his boxers.
"You're naughty, Livvie." He rolled back around and just watched her. Her finger began at his collar bone, and made its way down to his stomach, stopping just above his entrance of his boxers.
"I see you like this." Liv smiled with her eyebrows up looking at his erection through the boxers. "Let's set that free."
Fitz closed his eyes, rubbing her neck gently, and down to her back. "Liv." He whispered.
"Shh, feel it baby, ok." She wrapped her hand around his rock-hard organ and began stroking, while kissing all around his chest.
"Oh God, Livvie." He opened his eyes to see hers staring back at his. He put his hand behind her ear and pulled her down, devouring her lips.
Liv used her tongue to outline his lips. She looked at him, stroking him softly still feeling his body relax. She loved this. He took such good care of her during the pregnancy, he deserved this.
She planted her lips back down onto his mouth, her strokes going a bit faster now, and she was beginning to feel his body stiffen. "Yeah," she whispered in his ear. "My Mister, how does it feel?"
"Mmm, so good, baby, just a bit…." And he stopped because he felt her beautiful lips overtake her hand on his dick, and it was shattering his insides.
His hand rested gently on her head, and he felt his body stop, and release. Just like the first night they were together, Liv didn't flinch, and took it all in. She stopped a moment and rested her head on his stomach.
"Still so amazing, my gorgeous wife." Liv stood up and went to the bathroom, returned with a warm cloth several minutes later.
"You take such good care of us Fitz, it's time you get taken care of too." Liv was rubbing his chest and neck with the warm cloth. That's the last thing she remembered saying, as she drifted with Fitz off to sleep.
With the morning light peeking in, they were both awakened by the sounds of cries from Soriyah. Liv put her forehead on Fitz's chest. "I have to go feed her." He nodded and went back to sleep once Liv got up.
"Yes, you're hungry, aren't you Little Boo? Come here." Liv kissed her baby girl and sat on the rocker, as Soriyah latched on and began drinking, crying stopping instantly. Liv rubbed her dark hair as she bent and kissed her.
She heard pitter of footsteps stop at Soriyah's nursery. "Good morning mommy." Brielle was up, happy as ever. "Good morning, Soriyah, did you sleep ok?"
"She slept fine, no doubt dreaming of her big sister. Come, there's room in the chair."
"Mommy, do you think daddy is nervous that he won't dance well? I am just happy to be going, I love showing off my daddy and all his awards on his uniform."
"You just put your little feet on top of daddy's and let him guide you, ok? Also, there are going to be other things to do there, not just dance, you know that right?"
"Mmm hmm, my friend Trisha is in the third grade and said there is a photo booth and a dress up station. Her daddy is a Marine." Brielle watched as Soriyah fidgeted in her mother's arms. "Is she finished eating mommy?"
"Yes, I think so, do you want to hold her and sit in the rocking chair with her?"
"I do." Brielle shook her head up and down.
Liv stood up and let Brielle take up most of the chair now. She placed Soriyah in her arms and Brielle kissed her softly on the forehead.
Liv listened at Brielle talked to her little sister. "I am going with daddy to a dance. Don't be upset though, ok, we will both go together when you are older. We have a great daddy. He tells the best stories."
Soriyah loved the sound of her sister's voice. "Look, Boo, you are comforting her. She's falling asleep in your arms."
Liv heard a click behind her and turned around. Fitz had captured the moment of Brielle looking at her sister fall asleep and Liv watching them both. He showed Liv the picture and then he made it his background for his phone. He walked over to Brielle.
He picked up the baby from her arms and handed her to Liv. He sat Brielle on his lap while Liv began to change the baby. "So, you want to hear a story about when you were that little?"
Brielle had taken Fitz's phone and was staring at the picture. She rubbed her hand on the screen. She nodded her head. "Were you changing me like mommy is changing Soriyah now?"
Five years ago
Fitz had been working long hours since Olivia gave birth. There was so much going on where the military needed to be involved. They needed Fitz at the Pentagon to make sure the planes were being ordered, maintained, and manned correctly.
Each night Fitz would come home, Liv would be sound asleep, and Brielle would be right next to her in her little cradle. There were times Fitz would come in, fall asleep and leave the next morning, not even seeing the two of them awake at all.
Quinn and Abby were over as much as they could be to help Olivia get some rest from taking care of Brielle, and Fitz was thankful for that, but he didn't feel like he was being much of a new father.
In a way, he was happy he wasn't home for most of it, the truth being he was afraid of being a father. It made him the happiest person, he loved his daughter, but he was still afraid. He was nervous he would break her, picking her up. She was so tiny. Everything about her was perfect and he didn't want to ruin it. He didn't want to share his fears with Liv, he just didn't feel right.
One evening Fitz got a call from the Commander in Chief himself. He told Fitz the planes and Naval soldiers were all in order. He put two commanders just under Fitz in charge and gave Fitz the rest of the week off, including the weekend thanking him for his hard work.
Now, with a five-week-old daughter and an exhausted wife, Fitz had to face his fatherly duties. Olivia woke up the next morning surprised to have Fitz next to her. She cuddled under his arm, him holding her closely, and she could tell his was tense.
"Everything alright? Why aren't you at work?"
"Got the rest of the week off. We could finally be a family for a while."
Liv looked up and kissed him. "That's great news."
Brielle began to squeal a bit in her cradle. Before long it was a loud hunger cry and Fitz got up to get her. He handed her to Liv who began feeding her. Fitz sat next to them on the bed and rubbed Brielle's hair as she took her mother's milk.
Fitz watched lovingly as Liv kissed Brielle's forehead and told her daddy was here for the next few days. She whispered how exciting that was and he would finally get to change her, dress her, and feed her.
"You really think I can do all that, isn't she used to you doing it?"
"She may be, but she misses her father. Don't you see her when she hears your voice, she is looking for you."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
Brielle finally latched off, and Liv handed her back to Fitz. He rocked her a bit in his arms, walking towards the window and talking to her. He apologized for not being there much and said the next few days he would be with her. They would go for walks, and he would sing to her.
"Would you like that Brielle, would you like daddy to sing to you?"
Brielle started whimpering, a small whimper, indicating she was tired. "Oh, don't cry, my singing isn't that bad."
Fitz began to slowly sing to her.
"Hey where did we go?
Days when the rains came
Down in the hollow
Playin a new game
Laughin and a runnin, hey hey
Skippin and a jumpin
In the misty morning fog with you
Our hearts thumping and you
My brown eyed girl
And you, my brown eyed girl.
Fitz stopped, he didn't hear any more fuss from Brielle, and he looked down. She was cradled in his arms, just looking wide eyed at him. Her eyes were blinking, those brown eyes of Liv's that she inherited, and Fitz's heart melted in a split second.
"You like that? Huh, yeah, you liked that?" He kissed her gently and put her over his shoulder.
He turned to see Liv in the bed, just staring at him. "What?"
"That was beautiful Fitz. She never calmed so quickly and so easily with me. She loves your voice and your singing. Before she goes to sleep though, you should change her."
Fitz placed her on the changing table. He wasn't quite sure what to do, but he didn't want Liv to catch on to that, she looked comfortable in the bed, and he didn't want to bother her.
"Ok, let's see." He unsnapped the onesie and lifted its flaps.
He remembered watching Liv do this. He reached for a new diaper, taking the heavy one off, and put it to the side, as he gently wiped his baby girl. Like a pro, he lifted her legs, straightened the diaper, and on it went. He reached for a new onesie, discarding the old one.
The one he grabbed said: "My daddy is in the Navy, what's your superpower?"
Fitz smiled as he dressed her, all the time talking to her, and her eyes following his voice. It was the greatest feeling, and when Fitz picked her up, kissing her once again, she fell fast asleep on his shoulder.
After a few minutes he put her back in the cradle, cleaned off her changing table, and joined Liv in bed. She wrapped herself around him. "That was beautiful daddy. You are so amazing Fitz. You're a great father. That little girl loves you."
"I love her, and I love you for giving her to us." He kissed Liv on her forehead, who returned the kiss to his chest.
"It's good to have you home for a few days." She scrunched her body a bit closer to him, feeling him wrap her tighter in his arms, and she fell into a comfortable sleep.
Fitz had the view of watching the love of his life and his baby girl sleep so peacefully in his presence. This was the life he always wanted, and his heart could have exploded with love. That was day he realized he was going to be the best father he could be to Brielle.
Present Day
"And you are the best daddy in the whole world. We will have so much fun at the dance."
Fitz scooped her up in his arms and twirled her around. "I can't wait to dance with my favorite brown eyed little girl."
Liv walked in the room with Soriyah, and Fitz pulled her over. Liv had Soriyah cradled in her arms, and Fitz was holding Brielle. He kissed all three of them. "Tomorrow will be the best Father's Day ever."
Fitz took Soriyah out for an early morning walk while Liv spent the time fixing Brielle's hair for the dance. While Brielle was in her parent's room, she noticed her fathers uniform hanging up. "Is that what daddy is wearing today?"
"Yep Boo, he's all Navy Admiral for you."
"Aww, I love when daddy dresses in his uniform."
So do I, Liv thought, but didn't say it out loud. "Anything for his big Boo. There you go, look in the mirror."
"Wow, mommy, I love it." Brielle was gently patting the tight bun her mother had put her hair in. She looked just a princess. "When is the make-up."
"The little bit of make-up" Liv reminded her. "We'll do that after we get dressed. Now go, and no jumping around."
"I love you so much mommy." She kissed Liv as Liv walked her to her room to check on the dress.
Fitz came back with a sleeping Soriyah, an iced tea for Liv from Dunkin, and a corsage for his little date to the father daughter dance.
He walked over and gave Liv a kiss, a nice long kiss. "What was that for?" she asked resting her forehead on his shoulder.
Fitz shrugged. "I love you, that's what it is for. I love you for Soriyah and I love you for Brielle and I love that I can be a father on Father's Day."
"The best father on Father's Day. Put Soriyah in the cradle in our room while you're getting dressed, I need to get Brielle ready. See you in a few Mister." She kissed his cheek and took her iced tea to Brielle's room.
Brielle came out about an hour later and stood in the living room waiting for her father. Soriyah had started crying to be fed, and Liv was feeding her while they waited. "Ok, here I come." Fitz was holding his daughter's corsage of pink and white carnations.
Liv picked up Soriyah and went behind Brielle. Fitz appeared in the living room and Liv saw his breath being held in. She also saw some tears enter his eyes.
Brielle was dressed in a soft baby pink tulle skirted dress. It had short puff sleeves and it came just above the knees. She was wearing pump rhinestone shoes that closed the front and strapped at the ankle. She looked beautiful.
She walked over to her kneeling father and gave him a hug around his neck. "Happy Father's Day daddy." She touched over his emblems on his uniform, tracing the wings. "You look so handsome. I see why mommy loves you."
Fitz took her wrist and put her corsage on. He watched as she smelled the flowers and turned to show Liv. "Look mommy, daddy gave me flowers."
"He sure did, Boo." She tried to hold in the tears, but she couldn't, and Fitz pulled her in for a hug, kissing Soriyah.
"She looks beautiful Liv; you did a great job." He turned to Brielle. "Is that lipstick you have on young lady?"
She shook her head up and down, "and just a touch of eye shadow, right mommy?"
Liv put Soriyah in Fitz's arms and took a few pictures of the three of them. She then took Soriyah and took a few pictures with just Fitz and Brielle. She flipped the phone screen and took a few selfies of all four of them.
Before they left for the dance, Liv handed Fitz a box. Brielle clapped her hands in excitement, knowing what it was. Fitz took out a model naval aircraft. On the side it was painted #1 Dad, on the other side it had the names Brielle and Soriyah painted on it.
"I painted it, daddy, do you like it?"
"I love it. It's going with all my Navy awards." He kissed Liv. "I love you, Livvie. And I love you Soriyah"
Brielle was even more excited when she saw a car outside with a driver. He opened the door for them and said, "Good afternoon, Princess, we are heading to the Father/Daughter dance at the Pentagon?"
"Yes, we are, right daddy."
"To have a magical time."
Fitz had the best time with Brielle at the dance. They played dress up, they played some carnival games, he won her a unicorn. They had some daddy/daughter tea and cookies, and when the final dance was announced, Fitz escorted his Brielle to the dance floor.
She stood on his feet, like her mommy said to do, and he held her close as the music played "Brown Eyed Girl."
Brielle's mouth opened in excitement. "Daddy, it's the song you sang to me."
"It sure is" and he began to move with Brielle. Her head resting against his stomach as she let her daddy move her in dance.
"Thank you for being my daddy."
"Thank you for teaching me how to be a daddy, my brown eyed girl." He kissed the top of her head. "I love you."
