Chapter 6-Girl Dad
"Wait, where are you going. You look absolutely." Fitz stopped himself. "You look so pretty." Fitz stopped his naughty words because Brielle was listening to him talking to Olivia.
Olivia handed Soriyah over to her father. "Thank you. Out, remember, we talked about this last week."
"Well, is Abby or Quinn coming to watch the kids?"
Liv stopped as she was putting her earring in. "No, I'm going out with Abby and Quinn. Don't you remember? You're on dad duty tonight. It's just you and your girls, right Brielle?"
Brielle nodded her head. "Yeah daddy, and look." Brielle held up a pink case. "Mommy bought me a brand new make up kit, she said you would let me practice on you. This is going to be so much fun. Why are you still in your uniform daddy?"
Fitz looked down at Soriyah. She widened her blue eyes at her father. "Hey daddy's little girl, let's see what we can do about this ok?"
"Liv, I have a virtual meeting with two colonels from the Army and a commander from the Navy. We are discussing the planes needed to purchase. What am I supposed to…"
"Fitz, I don't know, but Abby and Quinn are downstairs already, besides, they know you're a dad, you'll be fine." She kissed Soriyah on the forehead. "I love you blue eyed mini princess."
Brielle giggled. "Mini princess, Mommy, you're funny."
Olivia picked up Brielle. "Promise me you'll help daddy with Soriyah." She kissed Brielle's cheek.
"I promise mommy, and we can watch Frozen sing along right."
"Absolutely. I love you Boo, with all my heart."
She turned to Fitz. "Don't look so defeated. It'll be fine. Soriyah loves watching Brielle dance around. Brielle, go get daddy a diaper for me."
She turned back to Fitz. "Besides, I may have a bit of alcohol in me when I get back. Lucky you." She kissed his shocked mouth. "I love you." She was out the door, ready to have a much needed girls night out.
Brielle handed Fitz the diaper. He stood there with Soriyah and diaper in his hands. Brielle picked up her make up case and followed Fitz to the couch as he began to change Soriyah.
"OH MAN" Brielle was holding her nose. "Wow, Soriyah, that really stinks."
Fitz tilted his head back. "Yeah, Brielle you're right that does stink. Could you get daddy some new clothes to put on Soriyah, please?"
Brielle ran back to the room. Fitz was waiting with Soriyah. He had her diaper on, and she was just kicking her legs. Five minutes had passed, and still no sign of Brielle. "Brielle, you have those clothes for me?"
"Yes, I'm coming." Brielle handed Fitz the outfit, and Fitz noticed tags still on it.
"Brielle, this hasn't been worn yet."
"You said new clothes, those are the only new ones I could reach." She shrugged and walked over to get the remote control. "Can we watch Belle's Beauty Secrets first?" She clicked on the tv.
Fitz took a deep breath. He picked up Soriyah, still waiting patiently to get dressed, and walked back to the room. His phone began buzzing as he placed her in the crib.
"Hello Commander. Yes, about fifteen minutes. I sent the zoom link to your emails. See you then."
He grabbed a pink onesie and black leggings, as he dressed Soriyah in the crib. He had been thinking about a way to speed the meeting up, maybe even postpone the non-important information until Monday morning. He really wasn't focusing on what he was doing with the baby.
Soriyah was just kicking away, making cute little noises here and there. He came back to the living room, and Belle's voice was on the television explaining how to dress for a princess ball. He was about to sit Soriyah in her bouncy seat when Brielle said, "Daddy what did you do?"
"What do you mean?"
"Soriyah's pants are on wrong, see?" Brielle was pointing to the tag. Not only were they on backwards, but they were also on inside out. Fitz took a deep breath. Still holding her in his arm, he used his other hand to pull the pants off.
Brielle came over and took the pants from Fitz. As Fitz held her baby sister, Brielle slid the pants on correctly, and then turned to listen more to Belle.
"We make a good team, daddy."
"We sure do. Daddy is going to use the computer over there at the table, just try to keep the tv low. When daddy is done, we can order a pizza and watch Frozen, ok."
"Mommy said don't order pizza, we can make our own." She pointed behind him. On the counter were some pizza crusts and sauce, the cheese was in the fridge, no doubt.
"Fine, we'll make our own, but remember, keep the tv low, ok."
Brielle nodded her head. She sat next to Soriyah on the floor next to the bouncy seat. Fitz put on his headphones and clicked a few buttons. The three officers were already on the link, waiting for him to enter the room.
"Good evening, sorry, I am on daddy duty tonight, had to get them settled. So, using the planes listed here from Colonel Briggs, it looks like spending will exceed the budget, do you have any other suggestions, Commander?"
"When applying eye shadow", Belle was saying. "Make sure you use a smooth small applicator."
As the Commander was speaking, Brielle walked over to Fitz. She stood behind him and waved at the officers who gave a wave back. Fitz turned. "Brielle, give me a few more minutes, ok."
Brielle's hands were a bit too fast, and she stroked her small applicator on Fitz, putting the lightest shade of blue eye shadow on both his eyelids. Brielle nodded and ran back over to the television.
Fitz turned back around, trying to rub his eyelids as the Commander began speaking about the best planes to be used in the training of pilots. One of the Colonels cleared his throat trying not to laugh.
"Something funny, Colonel?" Commander Smythe asked.
"Not about the planes, the shade of blue the Admiral has for eye shadow."
Fitz continued to rub his eyes, reaching over for a napkin, and rubbing with that. "Is it gone now?" He asked, looking into the computer camera.
"Just a bit more on your right eyelid." Colonel Robbs said. "Although."
"Stop." Fitz said. "Commander, you were saying."
"The T-38 Talon as opposed to the L-39 Albatross would keep the budget up, perhaps we could go lower on the orders and use the Albatross."
Fitz shook his head. "Using the Albatross for training purposes isn't such a bad idea, and the money it would save would be." Fitz stopped mid-sentence as he heard Soriyah let out a small cry. He turned to see Brielle bothering her hair.
"Brielle, stop that." He turned to the computer. "Give me a moment, sorry." All three nodded in understanding.
Brielle was applying a headband to Soriyah's head, as Belle was instructing on the television. He pushed Brielle's hand away and rubbed Soriyah's head. "Brielle, try not to bother your sister for a few more minutes ok, that was bothering her." He didn't even feel Brielle put the purple headband on his head, he had too much hair to feel it.
"Sorry, Daddy, but thank you."
He walked back over to the computer. The plastic headband sitting nicely on top of his head really didn't match the blue uniform jacket he had on. "Now, as I was saying the Albatross doesn't break the budget, but I would like to go over a few more that could possibly bring the price down, since this is for training and not actual battle." Fitz looked at the three of them. They looked like they were all holding in laughter.
"Admiral." Briggs cleared his throat. "The purple is an unlikely color to have chosen with the jacket." Fitz looked closer to himself in the computer.
He rubbed his hand on his head, sweeping back the head band, and placing it beside the computer. His face must have been beet red by then. He began laughing, which brought relief to the three officers. They began laughing as well.
Commander Smythe began to speak. "Admiral, if I may suggest, perhaps we can conclude this meeting until Monday. The three of us will narrow the list to the Albatross, the Talon, and we'll choose one more. At least we got to analyze two tonight."
"I appreciate your understanding, my wife just."
"No need to explain Admiral, go enjoy the time with your beautiful girls."
Brielle jumped up on Fitz's lap. "You hear that Brielle; we're closing the meeting down so I can spend time with you. What do you say?"
Brielle waved again. "Thank you. We're going to sing Frozen songs, and I'm going to practice putting make up on my daddy."
Fitz tilted his head down, scratching his cheek. "Thanks again guys, see you on Monday." Fitz couldn't push the "leave meeting" button fast enough. He scooped up Brielle and put her in his arms like an airplane.
"We were talking about airplanes that go like this." He glided Brielle through the living room to the sound of her giggles. "And some go like this, and he tilted her to the side, and she was giggling louder.
"Do. They. Go. Upside. Down." She said in between laughing breaths.
"Do they go upside down? That's a silly question. Hold on."
Fitz flipped her and wrapped his arm around her waist as she was upside down. Her hands touched the ground and Fitz said. "Landing." Her legs went down, and she was laying on the floor, breathing heavy and laughing.
"That was so much fun. Can I be a practice airplane everyday daddy?" She was holding her stomach. She had been laughing so hard, it was hurting a bit.
"Why don't you go get into your pajamas while I give Soriyah a bottle. She'll go to sleep, and we can make our pizzas, how does that sound. And maybe calm down just a bit, ok."
"Ok daddy." She jumped into his arms. She kissed him on the cheek. "I love you so much."
"Love you too my brown eyed girl."
Soriyah was just focused on the light coming from the television. She was looking straight at Belle who was applying nail polish to her nails. "The best color to use is pink, pink will go well with the dress." Fitz paused the show and turned to get Soriyah.
"I'm sure you'll be painting my nails soon enough with your sister, let's get you a bottle." She gave a little sound as if agreeing with Fitz and as he scooped her into his arms, he kissed her soft head.
Brielle had come out, dressed in her Elsa and Anna nightgown, holding her Elsa and Anna dolls. She whispered noticing Soriyah asleep in Fitz's arms. "I brought Elsa and Anna because they like to watch themselves on tv." She sat them on the couch and walked to the kitchen.
Fitz walked Soriyah to the room, put her in the crib, and turned on the monitor. He grabbed the other monitor from the bedroom and walked to the kitchen with Brielle.
The crusts Olivia left out were mini pizza crusts. Fitz held up the package of 4. There were two packages. She knew he could eat one package on his own. He looked at Brielle. "So, I was inspecting the insides of the fridge and mom just went shopping, huh."
Brielle shook her head. "We bought so many things from the supermarket, and I got to wheel my own cart."
"That's something special, huh. Well, see all the stuff I took out?" Fitz put his hand out on display.
"Yeah, why did you take out carrots and broccoli for pizza?" Brielle's little nose scrunched up confused.
"We're going to make Fitz's fabulous, faced pizza."
"Fitz is your name daddy."
"Yep, that's why I named it that. You ready? You're going to be in charge of putting the toppings on, ok?"
Brielle reached up and put on an apron. It had a big unicorn in the middle and her name in script below it. "Now I'm ready, daddy."
Fitz pretended he was looking at a camera, like a cooking show. "Hello, our viewing audience, today my young princess and I will be making Fitz's fabulous, faced pizzas."
"And I will be putting the toppings on." Brielle cut in.
"First you will need."
"Four mini pizza crusts." Brielle held up the package. She took out the four crusts and placed them in a line in front of her.
"Next, you'll need some sauce. A squeeze packet of sauce works the best because you can….." Fitz opened the packet and squeezed. He made a squishy noise…. "make funny noises as the sauce comes out."
Brielle covered her mouth and squealed with a giggle.
"Now for the toppings" Brielle said and looked at Fitz. "What's first daddy?"
"First I put on the sauce and the cheese, like this." He did it to all four pizza crusts.
"Ok, my turn." Brielle rubbed her hands together.
"First one, two small cut olives. Put them here. One small circle tomato, put it here, one small cut red pepper put it here, and two basil leaves, here." Brielle looked at what she created.
"Way cool, daddy, that looks like a pizza with a moustache." The leaves were on top of the pepper strip for the mouth and the tomato was the nose with the two round olive slices as the eyes.
They made three more and Brielle couldn't even help bring the crusts to the oven because she was laughing so hard.
"Hey, are you laughing at my face?"
"NO!" she said with laughter shaking her head, "the pizzas are funny looking. They all look like funny faces."
With the other four, he made just regular with cheese and sauce, and they put on the sing along waiting for them to cook.
"So how many tequilas are you having tonight, Liv, as many as you can without being able to walk." Quinn was joking.
"No, just two or three, I'm just happy to be out of the house, I was going stir crazy."
Abby held up Liv's hand. "Well, this shade of pink looks spectacular on your nails."
"I thought so too, Brielle said she would do yours for free." Liv gave her a shove.
"I may take her up on that offer." Abby looked around. "Ok, I'll be over there." She grabbed her drink and walked towards a tall dark haired guy waving at her.
Her and Quinn had tequilas in front of them, quick shots, and Liv did two to start. She closed her eyes and shook her head. "Been a long time since I've done that, wow."
Quinn laughed. "You ever think so many years ago at that naval base bar this is where you would be in life? Two beautiful baby girls and a husband that is so in love with you, you're lucky Liv."
She agreed. "It's everything I never would have dreamed, seriously. Fitz is amazing, the girls are just so wonderful, and mom life isn't as imprisoned as I thought it would be. Plus, I still get to go to the office to help out you two and Huck."
Abby came over. She took one of the shots and downed it. "Well, he was a dud, nothing new."
Quinn looked at her. "Don't try so hard, Abs, it'll come to you. Just be patient."
"Ah, you know what, I'm out with my girls tonight, who needs a guy?"
Liv and Quinn both raised their hands, "me" they said in unison.
Abby shrugged, "yeah, me too. Let's get a table so we can eat, I'm starving."
They were talking and laughing, drinking and eating. They brought up all the times they had down in Florida, the good, the bad, the ugly.
"No, no, wait," Quinn said. "The time at the frat house, when Abby."
"Oh, God, no, please, Quinn."
Liv was already laughing hard enough to rest her forehead on Abby's shoulder. Shaking her head. "I remember but go on."
"When Abby was just about to put the beer bong in her mouth. Liv, you came running over, knocking it out of her hand."
"That thing was disgusting. It had been in about five other mouths before it got to Abby."
"Oh my God, Abby was so drunk, she stamped her foot down, crossed her arms and said why did you go and do that?" Quinn was whining imitating Abby.
Abby was laughing. "I remember the frat house going quiet. I ran to the bathroom, and….." She couldn't finish, they all began laughing.
"You broke the door, right off it's hinges." Liv laughed. "Every frat brother was ready to kill you."
"We lifted you and ran out of that place faster than Usain Bolt." Quinn laughed.
"The three of us always looked out for one another." Quinn said.
"We sure did, we still do." Liv said.
"Over a cliff", Abby held up her drink.
"Over a cliff," They all chimed, giving a toast.
"Fitz going to be alright with the girls tonight?" Quinn asked.
"I think so. It's his first time alone with two of them. I may walk into a disaster, but I'm sure Brielle will tell me how much fun she had with daddy. He is just amazing with them."
"Well, soon enough the two of you will need a night out. The way I've been striking out, I'll watch them for you." Abby said.
"I'm taking you up on that Abby, don't think I'm not. Oh, and with Brielle beginning Kindergarten, you're on call for the bake sale, Abby's cupcakes for the win."
Back at the house, Brielle had Fitz's phone in her hand. She was recording Fitz, dressed in a white tutu over his sweatpants. He had a Tiana microphone in hand as he was singing Let it Go to the sing along on television. He was holding Soriyah in the other arm, without the microphone.
He plopped down on the couch and looked at Brielle. "Were you recording daddy?"
"Mm hmm. I want mommy to see." Brielle grabbed the remote and clicked so the screen changed. "Can we watch Encanto now? Please daddy"
"Ok, but I need you to sit on the couch with me and start to wind down alright? I am going to put Soriyah in her pajamas, and we'll need to go to sleep soon." Fitz got up to get pajamas as Brielle fixed the television.
She ran to her room to get Tiger and was back on the couch in time for Fitz to come in with Soriyah. Brielle had her make up case open and was looking at the contents. "Can I just try one thing on you, daddy, please?"
"You've been so good tonight. So helpful, so yes, go ahead."
Brielle took a small stick and dipped it in lipstick. "I want to see this color." She applied a bright red shade to Fitz's lips and Fitz made a mental note not to kiss Soriyah. Brielle studied him, and said "Perfect, now let's watch the movie."
Fitz had put Soriyah in her swing, letting it rock slowly, as she began to fall asleep. He handed Tiger to Brielle who cuddled it under her neck and rested her head on Fitz's chest. Her cheek close to his heart. "I love you daddy; I had the best time ever."
Fitz rubbed her hair. "So did I my brown eyed girl, this was great." He wasn't finished the sentence yet, and Brielle was already asleep. Fitz looked at both his girls. He closed his eyes, never imagining he would be this lucky.
He looked up at the wall, the wedding picture of him and Liv glowing from the light of the television. "All because I fell in love with you, my Livvie." He whispered to the picture, and with "We Don't Talk About Bruno playing in the background, Fitz's head rested on Brielle's as he fell asleep.
Liv thanked Quinn and Abby for a good time. They made it a promise to do it at least once a month. They all needed it. She left the Uber, not quite drunk, but not quite sober.
As she walked into the living room, the television was on a blank screen, the movie played out. She looked towards the kitchen, plates on the table with uneaten pizza in the middle and one plate with tiny bite marks in another pizza. Liv smiled as she saw the decoration on the pizza.
She looked over to the swing. It had stopped and Soriyah was sound asleep in her pink onesie pajamas. Liv gently picked her up and walked her to the crib. Without a movement, she stayed asleep, and Liv made sure the monitor was on. She saw the other one in the kitchen; she would grab it before settling in.
Walking back to the living room, she looked at the sight on the couch. She pulled out her phone needing a picture, as she covered her mouth to stifle the laugh. Fitz still had the white tutu on, and you can tell his lipstick had been smeared just a bit.
Brielle was still comforted in his arms, a feeling Liv knew all too well, clutching Tiger in her arm. Her other arm was out across Fitz's chest, and she looked exhausted, breathing softly with Elsa and Anna rising on her nightgown.
Liv clicked a few pictures, and she nudged Fitz just a bit. He moved his head and popped it up. "Shh, shh, I'm just going to take Brielle to her room. You maybe want to get to the bedroom?"
Fitz smiled when he saw her. Before she could get Brielle in her arms, he pulled her down for a kiss. "MMM, I taste tequila, can't wait to get to the bedroom now." He was groggy, but he knew what he wanted.
"Whatever, Mister." She scooped up Brielle, Tiger dropping in the scoop, and Fitz followed behind with Tiger in his hands.
She put Brielle in her bed, covered her, and put Tiger next to her on the pillow. Brielle, like her sister, didn't even stir. Liv gave her a kiss on her cheek, pushing her hair back softly. "Love you, Boo."
Liv walked into the room. Fitz was about to get into bed taking his shirt off. He looked at Liv who was getting ready to join him, she had a huge smile on her face.
"What?" he asked.
"You going to sleep in the tutu?"
Fitz rolled his eyes. He took it off, leaving on just his sweats. Liv walked over to him with a tissue. "Now, to get the rest of this lipstick off you, that you didn't leave on me. Usually, I'm the one leaving lipstick on you."
They just looked at each other, Liv sitting on the edge of the bed, as Fitz sat up against the headboard. He took her hand with the tissue in it. He put the tissue on the nightstand and held her hand, interlocking their fingers.
"It was great tonight, Liv, it really was. I'm so in love with them, and with their mother. But with you, the love makes my heart pound."
She leaned in, kissing him softly. "I'm just as in love with you too, Fitz. Drinking tonight, reminded me of the night we met, it began as one of the worst nights of my life, and turned into one of the best." She rested her head in his neck, putting her body on top of his.
They stayed like that for a few minutes, him caressing her hair, her kissing him, and resting on his chest. "Did you ever think what may have happened had you not come to the cemetery that day?"
"Yeah, I have, then I turn off the thought, because I don't know if I would've been able to ever get over you."
He pressed her close to his body, his hands going over the curves from her breasts to her torso. He kissed her, putting his tongue deep in her mouth as she moaned. She reached back, freeing his rock-hard erection from the sweats. It was resting on her back, as he pulled her down, sucking down on the top of her breast.
His hand reached down, as he rubbed the top of her clit, feeling her wetness, waiting for him. She leaned down to his ear, gripped his earlobe in her mouth. "I'm so ready for you baby. Hard, please."
He used his finger to spread some of her juices around, and watched as her closed her eyes, feeling her breast. His pelvis just holding her up. "Fitz, please." She whispered.
He licked his lips. "I taste that tequila, Livvie, it makes me want you more."
His hands went on either hip and he lifted her, he brought her down on his anticipating erection, and pushed her down, as she moaned softly into the air. He moved up and down, slowly, almost in slow motion, with his hand on her stomach.
He sat up, wrapping his arms around her, and put himself on top. "You said hard please, so since you asked so nicely." He took her one leg in the air and began thrusting into her.
"Oh God," She closed her eyes tightly, "Don't stop." She was grunting, holding his chest just for any kind of leverage, and he kissed her inner thigh, as he felt her body spasm. He pulled her up, as she was still trying to gain her strength back.
He turned her, lifted her by the stomach in the air, and had to spread the juices around, having her orgasm leave her wetter than before. He gently guided himself inside. "Deep enough for you?"
She bit her bottom lip, gripping the pillow. "Oh yeah." She barely whispered. He pulled her into to him as he pushed inside of her. She bit the pillow now, moaning, and with just a few more thrusts, held on to the back of her neck, and shot into her., landing his head on her back.
Liv brought her body down to the bed, turned her head, and closed her eyes. She felt his hand rub her back, and she turned on her side so he could spoon her. Feeling comfort in his arms, she fell fast asleep as did he, breathing softly into her neck.
With the cries of Soriyah as the sunlight peered through the windows, Liv and Fitz woke up as they had fallen asleep, holding on to one another. He put on his sweats and went to get his baby girl.
Liv slipped on some leggings and waited for Soriyah to come in to latch on. Fitz watched as Liv took her and she began feeding. They looked at each other when they heard singing coming from the other room.
Brielle ran in and jumped on the bed. "Good morning mommy and daddy. Hi Soriyah. Mommy, look, daddy was singing last night."
She showed Liv the video of Fitz in the tutu singing along with Elsa. "Boo, that's great."
"Mm hmm" she nodded. "And we ate Fitz's fabulous faced pizzas. They were so delicious. Can we have a girl daddy night every month, mommy, please?"
Fitz pulled Brielle on to him, tickling her and listening to her giggle. "Every month, every week, every day, I will always be your girl daddy."
The four of them in the bed together, enjoying one another as a family, there was nothing more Fitz and Liv could've wanted more in that moment.
