I forgot to put one of these thingies on the previous two drabbles...

Teammates
Theme: #1-Teammates
When they had first met as teammates, he wasn't sure if he liked her or not. He had always thought that female shinobi, or kunoichi as they liked to be called, were hindrances, weak little things that only got in the way of accomplishing anything. But when he looked at her as she declared that she would be the strongest kunoichi in Konoha, he noticed the glimmer of furious determination in her eyes and something registered in his mind that said this one was different. But despite that, he just scoffed in difference. She had glared and sent a kunai so quickly past his head that he had barely enough time to jump out of the way. Oh, yes. She was definitely different from the other girls.
"You missed," he had smirked.
And instead of finding her with an angry frown on her face, he saw that she was smirking. "I did it on purpose. Don't want a death in the team on the first day, do we?" He had only stared at her, dumbfounded, then cracked into a small grin.
He didn't know if he liked her or not, but he was leaning towards the former. He smiled slightly, watching her twirl the kunai expertly. Perhaps in the future, he could like her enough to get to know her and eventually be friends. And maybe after that, he could like her enough to be more…
But for now, they'd be just teammates.
