This is the second Stargate Atlantis fic I've writen about Carson and Teyla. The first is called "Moonlight Serenade" so if you missed it, there

Dr. Radek Zelenka strode through the halls of Atlantis, coffee mug in hand. He needed some SERIOUS fortification if he was doing to do battle with Rodney McKay again today. The two scientists had almost come to blows last night over what to do with one of their newest acquisitions from a new planet they had explored.

As he rubbed his eyes and looked out over the ocean, he heaved a contented sigh. Raising his lifeblood to his lips, his eyes strayed to the left and all thoughts of his morning pick me up left his mind.

There, curled up on a bench together, were Carson Beckett and Teyla Emmagen. A soft smile spread over the Czech scientist's face as he crept quietly back inside, deciding to leave the two of them in peace.

Dr. Elizabeth Weir raised a questioning eyebrow and he pointed to the spectacle that had caught his eye. "About time." she whispered. "Yes, I agree!" he replied.

Just then, Radek's favorite person came walking over to them. "What are the two of you looking at?" McKay asked loftily.

Elizabeth motioned to the outside and Rodney took a look. "Beckett and Teyla?" he cried.

He was quickly hushed. "God Rodney, shut up! You and your big mouth are going to wake them up!" Weir hissed.

"Yes Rodney, have a heart for once in your life." Radek added sarcastically. This earned him a glare from the man in question, which the Czech was only too happy to return.

"Okay boys, if you're going to fight, go do it in the lab…" Weir warned. "There will be no fight." Radek promised. "I do not fight girly men who have no prayer of winning…"

Elizabeth suppressed a snicker as Rodney's mouth opened and shut a few times. "You…you…" he sputtered.

"I what, Rodney?" Radek asked, his eyebrows going up. "Besides, I believe that you owe me 50 dollars for this!"

"Fine." McKay growled as he reached into his pocket and slapped the money into Zelenka's waiting hand. "Pleasure doing business with you, Rodney." Radek told him pleasantly.

"Oh shut up…" McKay said brusquely as he stalked away.

Weir and Zelenka watched him go. "Radek, how on earth do you work with him sometimes?" she asked, a slight smile on her face.

The long-suffering scientist heaved a heavy sigh. "It's a crap job, but somebody's got to do it!"

Carson awoke slowly with the sun shinning in his eyes and a comfortable weight on his shoulder. He looked down to see Teyla and he smiled. Last night officially ranked as the best night of his life and he silently thanked whoever was looking out for him that this woman had come into his life.

As he stretched slightly, Teyla stirred and finally opened her eyes. "It's morning." she complained. "Aye, it is." Carson replied softly.

She buried her face in his shoulder for a long moment before rising to her feet. "Uh oh…" she said softly. He looked up to see a smiling Weir and a smug Zelenka behind the door. "Uh oh would be right in this situation…the haggis is in the fire for sure…" Carson sighed.

"Haggis?" Teyla asked, her brow furrowed. Carson smiled and got to his own feet. "It's a dish from my homeland…" he began as they walked inside.

Sheppard showed up as Carson was finishing his explanation and had a more than slightly smug expression on his face. "And how are we this morning, children?" John asked.

Carson took Teyla's hand in his. "Just fine." he replied as the pair began to walk toward the cafeteria to get some breakfast.

"Go Beckett…" John muttered as he went to say hi to Elizabeth. Radek looked away embarrassedly as the two kissed and decided that it was time to go back to the lab…Atlantis was no place for a single scientist!
