I do not own anything.
Randy runs down the maze and takes a left hoping to get out of the maze quickly to finish the eighth trial for his test. He skids to a stop when he sees a monk in front of him blocking the way for him to continue through the maze. Randy stares at the monk keeping his fear from showing on his face. "What do you want?" Randy asks the monk.
"What do you fear about losing the most?" The monk asks Randy.
Randy blinks a couple times at the question. 'Did he just ask me what I fear losing the most?' Randy opens his mouth to speak but stops when memories of his past deeds as the ninja came to mind. He shuts his mouth and gives the monk a determined look. "I fear losing the ability to protect those who need it."
"Hm," the monk stares at Randy's eyes then moves to the side gesturing Randy to continue past him.
Randy nods his head and runs past the monk not noticing the look the monk was giving him. Randy runs through the maze taking a few turns through the maze and stops when he finds another monk blocking his path. Randy stops a few feet from the monk and asks, "What do you have for me?"
The monk gazes at Randy for a couple seconds and asks, "What would you consider the most important thing to you?"
Randy rubs his chin with his right hand and goes through his memories thinking about what he considers the most important thing to him. 'Normally, I would say Howard, but my job as the ninja has made me care about so many other things including Theresa.' Randy takes a deep breath and gives the monk a stern look. "The friendships I make in my life." Randy admits.
The monk moves to the side allowing Randy to pass by him and watches the teen leave his view. 'Hm, the kid is actually thinking about his answers. I'm actually hoping his last answer is the same.'
Randy slides at the end of the path and continues running through the maze. 'I don't know how long I've been in this maze, but I do know things have gone a bit long, or it feels like it anyway. I need to finish this stuff quickly. Theresa has things she wants to do, and she does not want to spend most of her day here.' Randy glances up at the walls seeing that they reached the ceiling and mutters, "Why am I not surprised?" 'That idea is out. I need to finish this trial quickly.' He runs out into the next open area and sees the monk standing on the other side waiting for him.
"What do you want out of life?" The monk asks Randy.
Randy blinks at the sudden question and raises an eyebrow. "Uh, is that a trick question?" The monk shakes his head in response getting Randy to blink a couple times. "Huh, I guess…" Randy pauses and taps his chin thinking of his answer. 'It can't be selfish reasons. The trial is trying to make me think like a hero should. What do I want out of life then?' He closes his eye and sighs in defeat. "To be honest, I would love to meet all the other famous heroes, but I guess I want to be able to be able to see the world to know what I'm protecting." He admits before giving the monk a serious look.
"Sometimes it's our selfish reasons that we have to use to find out what we really want." The monk explains before moving to the side for Randy to continue the maze.
"I'm just going to act like I know what you meant." Randy mutters before taking off down the maze hoping that there were no more questions for him to answer. He makes a turn to the left and smirks when he sees the door in front of him. "Sweet, this ninja just escaped the maze and…" Randy runs into the next room and stops when he sees two ninjas standing at the other side of the room. "What the juice?! Why do I have to face more ninjas?!"
Randy watches as the ninjas get into their battle stance and notices that neither ninja was wielding a weapon. "Uh, what am I supposed to be doing here?" The two ninjas point up at the ceiling getting Randy to look up to see a single light bulb in the room. "Ok, I'm even more confused about all of this." He looks back at the ninjas only for them not to be there. He looks around the room frantically and stops when the lights go out in the room.
"Your test is to get out of the room, but you will have to get past us in the dark room." A ninja tells Randy as the voice echoes throughout the room.
Randy stares at where the door was in front of him and mutters, "Well, I am not going to enjoy this one." Randy reaches into his little pouch and pulls a ball out of his bag. "Ninja hot ball!" Randy throws the ball up at the ceiling and watches the room light up in flames.
The two ninjas stare at the fire in surprise then turn to Randy with surprised looks in their eyes. "Are you crazy? The fire inside those balls could burn the whole building down!"
Randy chuckles, "I would believe that, but my test was to face you guys. If you told me that I couldn't use anything that could make me see you guys, then I wouldn't have done that. Plus, a ninja is supposed to be equipped with the tools to help him out of all types of situations. I thought everyone should know." Randy stares up at the two ninjas hanging on the walls and smirks at them. "The thing about this test was that you should have been more specific."
The two ninjas jump at Randy who throws a smoke bomb on the ground as they come at him. The smoke surrounds Randy and the two ninjas making them go on guard for the battle about to happen. The ninjas wait and look around carefully waiting for Randy to make his move, but the moment they heard a door open and close they jump out of the smoke and stare at the smoke cloud in surprise.
"We got played." The first ninja tells his partner.
"No, we were outsmarted. He used the smoke as a distraction and left the room like he was supposed to. We were expecting him to fight us, and it was our fault to think that he would have fought us instead of heading for the door." The second ninja explains to his partner.
"He only has six trials left."
"Yep, and it will get harder from here on out."
Randy walks through the hallway and feels his foot going down in the floor getting him to stop and look down at the brick sinking into the floor. "Oh great, I just found another honking trap! What is it going to be this time? Swinging axes? The floor giving way for me to fall onto spikes? Oh wait, it's going to be going back and forth between the walls…" Randy shuts his mouth when he sees all three traps he just said show up right in front of him. He stares at the swinging axes that were swinging over the only two platforms that he could only stand on and turns his attention to the arrows shooting out from both sides of the hallway. "Why do I always shoob things up?"
"We need to stop this search Angelic." Phantom says turning his head to his heroic partner who was looking over the city with a holo-scanner over her eyes.
"No, it is one thing to find out that the Norisville Ninja is in town, but Force was right to be suspicious about him being here. Who would he come to meet here if his fight with this Sorcerer is over?" Angelic Code asks her partner.
Phantom shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, but we know how unhealthy it can be if we put too much thought into it. It isn't our life to worry about." He admits.
Angelic Code sighs, "True, but I'm worried that he's here for something else."
Phantom sighs in defeat and puts his hand on her shoulder getting her to look over at him to see the worry in his eyes. "I know that you lost Jeremy a few days ago Aelita, but you can't suspect everyone you meet could be working with Hydra."
Aelita moves her shoulder to get Danny's hand off her and looks away feeling a little angry that Danny would bring up the events from earlier. "You know how sensitive I am about those days, Danny, and I can suspect anything since Hydra never stops plotting their next course of actions to rule the world."
"I don't want to go through this again." Danny mutters rubbing his eyelids feeling a talk with his best friend would become an argument between them.
"Then stop trying to lecture me then. You're my best friend Danny, and I want Hydra to pay for what they did to my family and friends."
"What are you going to do then Aelita? Kill them?" Danny asks catching Aelita off guard from the sudden question. "I know you're not someone who goes after people for stupid things like revenge. Tyron is locked up, and you got your mom back. Yes, Jeremy sacrificed himself to destroy the Cortex, but if he didn't do anything and told you about his condition, you would be losing so much more time trying to save his memories when we both know that he knew that he couldn't be saved."
"I could have saved him!"
"By doing what exactly? He wanted you to have a better life. That's why he gave us the information on the whereabouts on your mother. You were reunited with her, and we're making progress on restoring your father. What more do you want?"
'You…' Aelita thinks as she stares at her best friend. 'I never mentioned how right Jeremy was when he said that he believed you and I were getting closer. It hurts so much that I can't tell you. I can't betray Rogue like that.' Aelita looks away crossing her arms over her chest trying not to think about the pain inside her heart and mind. "All I want is for people to stop suffering because of evil agencies like Hydra." She admits trying to hide a true feeling.
Danny stares at Aelita for a few seconds and sighs believing she was trying to hide her pain where she could never see Jeremy again. "Aelita…"
"Let's just find the Ninja and figure out why he's here. I didn't pursue him yesterday for good reasons Danny. Right now, I have a feeling that there is more going on than we know."
'There's always something going on that we should know.' Danny thinks bitterly. "Fine, we'll go for a couple more hours. After this, you are going back to the institute and spend time with your mom. You've barely hung out with her the past couple days, and I'm worried she might start thinking you're avoiding her."
Aelita does not allow him to see the hurt in her eyes when he says that and mutters, "I wish it was that easy."
"Hm?"
"I don't know how to talk to her without accidentally mentioning Hydra." Aelita admits feeling uneasy in her stomach. "I want to talk to her, but the way things are right now makes everything awkward between us."
"What do you mean by that?" Danny asks raising an eyebrow confused on what she meant.
Aelita sits down on the edge of the building and pulls her legs up to her chest. "I know mom wants to live a normal live, but she wants to move back to France just the two of us."
"What did you say?"
"I spoke my mind." Aelita admits pain aching in her heart. "I told her I couldn't leave everything. I couldn't leave everything we've worked for to stop and be with her in hiding. She denied that she was going to hide, but I could see how scared she was about losing me. I know she's in unfamiliar territory, but I guess the connection we had was mostly damaged by Hydra. Mom never told me what happened to her, and I feel scared to find out."
Danny kneels down next to Aelita and pulls her into a hug. He feels Aelita put her head against his chest and runs his right hand through her hair. "I might not be good with this kind of feeling Aelita, but I do know that you guys can come to an agreement. You have your mom, and she doesn't want to lose you. I know you feel the same way, and I don't doubt you guys can come up with an agreement."
Aelita smiles sadly at Danny's explanation. "Thanks…" Aelita was not able to continue when the hollo-scanner starts beeping catching the two teens off guard. Aelita gets out of Danny's grip and reads the scanner carefully. "We got a location." She tells him.
Danny watches Aelita get back on her feet and sighs, 'So much for trying to get out of this.' He gets back on his feet and asks, "Where do we have to go?"
Aelita stares at her scanner and mutters, "I should have thought of adding the address to the search."
Danny sighs in defeat. "How could you forget about the address? I doubt we could much of anything following a dot on your scanner." He says trying to get her to stop the pointless search to find the Ninja.
"You're right, but it will bring us to where he is which is…" Aelita brings up the map of New York on her holo-map and smiles as it shows that the ninja was a lot closer than they thought. "He's only a few blocks in that direction."
Danny stares at the map then at the direction Aelita was pointing. "Fine, but if he is doing something that doesn't concern us, we will leave him alone."
"I can work with that." The two take flight and fly to their destination to meet the ninja.
Randy puts his hands on his knees and sighs in relief as he just finished passing the traps. He catches his breath and glances back at the traps that he barely passed with his life. "I don't know if they were trying to kill me or testing my stealth skills." He mutters as he stands back up. He takes a coupe calm breaths and stares at three traps. 'I've really shoobed it up though.' He turns back around and walks up to the door with a tired look in his eyes. 'These events are starting to get to me. How many more do I even have?'
"Let's get this over with." He opens the door and walks into the next room to find that the only thing in the room was a table with a set of china sitting on it. "What the juice?"
"I see you've made it pass the trap test." A voice says catching Randy off guard.
Randy looks up to see an old man walking up to the table with the smile on his face. "Who are you?" Randy asks the man.
"That's a good question. You could say I'm a spirit from another realm or an old man who just wants some tea. I guess it matters on how you look at it." The old man replies cryptically as he sits down at the table.
"All I really asked for was a name." Randy admits not really knowing how to take the old man's answer.
"Well, that's actually an easy question, but it is impolite to ask someone for their name without giving your name first young one."
Randy blinks a couple times and smiles, "Oh, I never knew that." He rubs the back of his neck for being called out on that and says, "I'm Randy."
"It's nice to meet you Randy. I'm Iroh." Iroh says as he grabs the tea kettle and removes the lid. He pulls a box out of back pocket and drops a few leaves into the kettle. "Why don't you sit down and relax? I'm making my famous Jasmine Tea."
Randy decides to take the invite and sits down on the floor crossing his legs together as he wonder what was going on here. "Uh, not to be rude or anything, but I need to finish up the rest of these trials. You never told me what our trial is."
Iroh chuckles feeling amused by Randy's confused statement. "You don't need to worry. The trial is actually pretty simple." He stirs the leaves in the kettle for a couple seconds and removes the stir stick putting the lid back on the kettle. "Patience is a virtue that knows no bounds."
"Uh, what do you mean by that?" Randy asks feeling even more confused by the proverb.
"It means you will have to wait. I thought your teacher has taught you that." Iroh rests his hand on the kettle and turns his eyes to Randy who was rubbing the back of his neck with his right hand.
"He did, but I'm not completely keen into everything yet."
"I can tell. You don't really look like a warrior, but here you are two-thirds of the trials completed." Iroh contemplates getting Randy to look at him in surprise. "You didn't know?"
"I didn't stay around long enough to find out what trial I was on." Randy admits keeping his blush of embarrassment from showing on his face.
Iroh raises an eyebrow and shrugs his shoulders in response. "No matter, I guess it's up to me to explain the last four trials you will face along with helping you complete this trial."
"What do you mean by that?" Randy asks as Iroh moves his hand from the top of the kettle to the handle.
"It's quite simple actually." Iroh moves the kettle in his hand and starts pouring the tea into his cup. "This test is supposed to help you find your inner warrior or to be precise who you want to be."
"Who I want to be? I thought it was obvious when I came in to take the whole test in the first place." Randy explains to Iroh who chuckles in response as he pours the tea into Randy's cup. "I took this test to become a better ninja."
"Which you are already progressing in, but you haven't seemed to realize what you have been doing."
"I'm not following."
Iroh puts the kettle down and gives Randy a serious look. "Before you became the holder of the mask, how much skill did you have fighting people?"
"None, I couldn't do anything to save my life, but…"
"No 'buts' about it. Your skill was so lacking it will surprise anyone that you were chosen to wield the mask, but here you are tasked to become better than you were. The only thing missing is the mask."
Randy's eyes widen when the whole situation settles down in his mind. "Wait, I've been doing all of this without the mask?! I never fought without the mask! How is it even possible?"
'Perhaps, this will take a bit longer than I originally thought.'
"I mean…I knew I wasn't wearing the mask when I came in, but how did I lose my train of thought and start thinking I was wearing the mask?"
"You didn't." Randy turns his attention back to Iroh who was smiling at Randy.
"What do you mean?"
"When did you start thinking about the mask during the trials?"
Randy opens his mouth to answer but stops when he realizes he never thought of it until now. Randy lowers his head and sighs, "I never thought about it."
"Exactly, you never thought about it, but you acted like you were wearing it. Every trial you went through you thought like you did when you wore the mask, and now you are the ninja without the mask."
"I don't completely understand what you mean, but you're saying that I went through everything acting like I was the protector instead of being who I am." Randy summarizes.
"Nope." Randy flinches back at the blunt answer that Iroh gives back. "You were acting like yourself the whole time, but there is still a part of you who believes that your life would be better without the ninja."
"Hold the cheese…"
"Cheese? We're not having cheese just tea." Iroh responds feeling confused on why Randy said that.
Randy rubs his right index finger and thumb on his eyelids and sighs, "Sorry, that's just something I say, but we'll worry about that later." Randy looks back at Iroh and asks, "What do you mean that there is still a part of me who believes that I'm better off without being the ninja?"
"You should know what I mean, but do you have those moments when you think about your life without becoming what you are now?" Iroh grabs his cup of tea and takes a sip hoping that Randy was getting the meaning.
Randy sighs and puts his hands on the ground behind him. "I think about it every now and then since it usually interfered with me wanting to hang out with my best friend and the girl I like."
"That's not the kind of situation I'm talking about, but it is a good point. Everyone goes through that in their lives, but it's the negative words and thoughts we receive when you fail at doing your job. Those thoughts haunt their minds and will continue doing that if you don't resolve it."
"Are you saying that I have negative thoughts buried inside of me or something?" Randy asks trying to understand what the old man was telling him.
"Yes, and in order to resolve those negative thoughts you have to finish the battle inside your mind."
"What do I have to do?"
"You have to go far into your soul and finish the battle that you have been fighting since you have become the ninja."
Randy looks down at his hands and balls them up as the determination came to finish the battle came to his mind. He looks up at Iroh and asks, "How do I do that?"
"Close your eyes." Randy obeys the order and listens to Iroh's orders. "You will need to relax to reach the inside of your soul. You don't need to overthink on how to get there, but you need to imagine seeing the ninja…"
"Uh…hello?" Randy opens his eyes and gasps in surprise when he finds himself sitting on the floor of his school. "What the juice is going on here?"
"I would ask you the same thing."
Randy gets up on his feet and turns around to find a version of himself in the ninja suit standing in front of the double doors to enter the school. "Wait a minute, I made it?"
The Ninja chuckles at Randy's surprise. "Yes, it seems you have."
"Are you me?" Randy asks raising an eyebrow at the Ninja standing a few feet away from him.
"I'm a version of you, but we're not here to pay twenty questions." The Ninja pulls his sword out of his suit and asks, "Are you here to finish what you started?"
"I guess I am." Randy admits closing his eyes and sighing in defeat. "Let's do this." He gets into a battle stance while the Ninja just stands there raising an eyebrow at him. "Wait, am I supposed to be fighting you?"
The Ninja rolls his eyes and puts his left hand on his side. "You're not as naïve as I originally thought." Another voice says catching Randy off guard.
Randy turns around to find a black version of himself with white hair and green eyes. Randy stares at the figure trying to figure out who it was standing in front of him and widens his eyes when he realizes what he was staring at. "You're my negative emotions."
"Ding ding ding, give the boy a prize. You could call me Nega-Randy or Nega so we don't cause confusion. Now, are we going to get this over with so I could have some fun with Theresa?"
Randy stiffens at the mention of his crush. "If you ever think of harming her, I will make sure it hurts."
Nega laughs at Randy's assumption. "Oh man, you really think I want to harm her. I am made up of your negative emotions. While you have a crush on her and actual feelings, I hold the couple emotions you have yet to show her. I can barely wait to hear her…"
"Enough!" Ninja yells before Nega could continue his description. "If you actually believe that you will do naughty things to her, then you have another thing coming."
"Oh please, you're only here because he put the mask on." Nega explains pointing his finger at his host. "Of course, I've been here since his birth, but you were never here in my world. The only people here were our host and me, but here you are trying to change him, to make him something he is not…I hate it! I hate protecting those selfish, uncaring people. Most of them don't realize what he's been sacrificing to save those ungrateful losers!"
Randy stares at Nega with wide eyes and realizes the negative emotions he was burying inside his body. 'This is what Iroh meant. My inner-battle isn't just between these two. It's on me. While I never thought of doing naughty things to Theresa…I'm getting off track.' He shakes his head and asks, "What do you plan on doing then? You can't expect me to let you take over my body and do those things."
Nega chuckles and pulls out Randy's ninja sword surprising Randy when he saw it was a black blade with a green and silver handle and guard connected with it. "I guess I do have to thank you for getting me this. I never thought becoming a ninja would be awesome." The ninja points the sword at Randy and smirks, "Too bad you use it for your stupid reasons to protect those people. Now I get to kill you and take over your body. It sounds like such a great gift, and Theresa is just an added bonus."
"Wait, kill me!"
"What else am I supposed to do? I can't let you kill me. It would ruin all the plans I've been making since your birth."
Randy reaches in the back of his jacket to grab his sword only to feel nothing there. Randy tries to feel round his jacket and starts to panic when he realizes that none of his weapons were with him. "Did you really expect your weapons to come with your mind into your soul?"
Randy turns his head to the Ninja who was giving Randy a dead gaze. Randy gives the Ninja an uneasy smile and shrugs his shoulders. "Maybe?"
The Ninja tosses his sword to Randy who catches it and raises an eyebrow in question. "You will need something to defend yourself with."
Randy turns his attention back to Nega and brings his sword up just in time to block the sword Nega swung at him. "Your reaction time is still sluggish." Nega remarks as he pushes his sword onto Randy's blade.
"I might be sluggish, but it also means that you're sluggish as well." Randy pushes back with his own force then swings his leg out at Nega's legs.
Nega jumps back to avoid the leg and pulls out his chain sickle holding the blade with his right hand. "I'm better than you ever will be!" He swings the blunt end up in the air and throws it at Randy.
Randy ducks under the chain watching the chain fly over his head. He swings his leg outand stomps down on the chain locking the force of the chain getting Nega to frown as the force pulled him off the ground to Randy. "You might be like me, but you forgot one important thing." Randy smashes his fist into Nega's face getting Nega to fly back dropping the chain sickle. "A ninja without balance will fall." He watches Nega hit the ground and slide back into the wall.
Nega chuckles, "Without balance? That's rich coming from you. Your thoughts were always selfish, but you started to change when you entered tenth grade, and I hated it! You started to become serious in school, to be more honest as a hero, to give up so much selflessly, and to do it all with a smile. You were mostly the same in ninth grade, but the Nomicon changed you, and I'm going to end what it started." Nega gets up on his feet and summons his Sai into his hands.
"I like to see you try, but I have a best friend to get back to and a girl waiting for me to finish the test. I'm going to finish this battle quickly." Randy stabs the sword into the ground and grabs the chain sickle off the ground. He pulls it up for him to grab both ends of the weapon with the blade in his left hand. Hope is the light that vanquishes all shadows. Randy blinks a couple times when the quote came to mind and mutters, "That was when Howard was going to get a pool on a very hot day."
Randy felt a foot hit his gut and flies back a few feet. He looks up and grits his teeth while Nega frowns at Randy. "You shouldn't get distracted during a fight Randy."
The best way to avoid an attack is to avoid an attack. Randy drops the chain sickle getting a confused look from Ninja and Nega. "This fight is over." He turns around and starts walking to the Ninja who was staring at Randy confused as to why Randy was ending the fight.
"It's over when I say it's over!" Nega yells angrily. He runs at Randy and swings his left fist at Randy's back. "You're dead!"
Randy turns around, punches Nega in the stomach, swipes the Sai from Nega's left hand, and stabs Nega in the heart surprising Nega of Randy's sudden speed. "I was hoping to avoid this, but a true ninja is always victorious." Randy tells Nega. He swipes the other Sai from Nega and mutters, "I'm not going to kill you." He stabs the Sai into the ground and stares at Nega with disappointment in his eyes. "I'm just glad I will never become you."
Nega chuckles in response as he finds the situation amusing. "A ninja without balance will fall." Nega quotes chuckling at the notion. "It seems I have no choice. I won't deny that you should be gone, but I guess you always had all the skill to stay in control. I guess you finally got the balance you needed."
Randy watches as Nega fades away and turns his attention to the Ninja who was still standing in front of the double doors. Ninja walks up to Randy and smiles under the mask. "I guess it's time for me to go as well. It was nice existing while I did."
"So this place won't be around anymore?" Randy asks as he looks over his school. "I honestly thought my fight would have been a lot harder."
"I would have been if I was originally a part of you from your birth. Nega never really trained and only knew some of your abilities. He was never able to gain access to your element abilities."
Randy blinks a couple times as he realizes the hidden meaning to Ninja's words. "Wait, are you saying I can use the ninja elements without the mask?!"
Ninja chuckles, "That would be telling. You take care of yourself now."
Randy opens his eyes and looks straight at Iroh who was sipping his tea. Iroh looks up at Randy and smiles when he sees Randy's eyes were open. "You're back. How do you feel?"
Randy looks down at his hands and imagines fire coming from his hand. Iroh's eyes widen in surprise when Randy's right hand becomes covered in fire. 'It worked.' Randy thinks..
"Now that is unexpected." Iroh remarks catching Randy's attention.
Randy makes the fire disappear and smiles, "Yeah, you could say that." He gets up on his feet and looks at the door in front of him.
"Are you going to take on the last four trials and finish the test?" Iroh asks curiously.
Randy glances at Iroh then back at the door and stands up knowing the answer. "No, my trial is complete." Randy answers before turning back to the door behind him.
"You're joking right? Those trials will help your knowledge on your skills unless…" Iroh smirks when the idea came to him. "Well, it seems you have found balance after all and much more."
Randy chuckles, "You could say that. I'll see you later old man."
Iroh watches Randy leave the room and chuckles finding the situation amusing. "It's too bad." Iroh watches Randy exit the room and shakes his head. "When I wake up back home, I won't remember any of this." He looks down at the table and sighs, "He forgot to drink his tea. I guess there's one bad memory I won't remember. Of course, there is so much that boy has to learn, but it seems he found what he really needed from all of this. He's becoming a true warrior."
Theresa stares at the tower worried on how Randy would do on his trials. 'I hope he is doing alright.' She thinks sadly.
"He should be doing fine." Wong says trying to push her worries away. "The eleventh trial is finding the inner warrior. After this trial the others will focus on him and his elemental powers."
"How long does finding the inner warrior take?" Theresa asks curiously.
"It matters on the warrior." Dr. Strange answers truthfully. "To find the inner warrior could take days or weeks or a few minutes. The tower only speeds things up for us." The front doors of the tower open surprising both sorcerers as Randy comes walking out of the tower. "It seems he might have given up."
"So it does." Wong admits not liking the idea of the current Ninja giving up. "Why would he be leaving the tower if he was determined to be trained by us?"
"I don't know, but giving up is something I was not expecting."
"Maybe he didn't give up?" Theresa suggests putting her thoughts into their minds.
"We'll see." Dr. Strange takes a few steps forward as Randy walks his way to them. "Why did you leave the tower Randy? You still have four more trials to complete."
Randy gives Dr. Strange a smirk and says, "You could say my inner warrior showed me what I can be capable of." Randy makes both of his hands get covered with fire and asks, "Why do you think I left?"
"We thought you gave up." Dr. Strange admits while glancing at both of Randy's hands in surprise.
"Why the cheese do people think I give up so easily?" Randy mutters feeling a little hurt that people thought so low of him. He disperses the fire off his hands and puts his right hand with a small gesture. "Can I have my mask back please?"
"You must tell us why you left the tower before we know you are worthy to take it back." Wong explains to Randy.
Randy glances at Wong then back at Dr. Strange. "Fine…" Randy lowers his hand getting the two sorcerers to raise an eyebrow. "I'll tell you guys, but could we eat first? I haven't eaten anything these past couple hours, and my energy is practically running on empty now."
Randy kicks back on the couch and sighs feeling happy that he was done with the tower. He glances over at Theresa who was sitting next to him and staring at him worry in her eyes. "Are you upset about the tests I went through in the tower?" He asks her curiously.
Theresa looks away with a small blush on her cheeks. "You never did mention what you went through in there before your inner warrior test or trial or whatever you want to call it." She responds feeling a little nervous to talk about him and his secret life.
Randy shrugs his shoulders and crosses his right leg over his left leg. "What is there to talk about? I went through some basic ninja training which was boring. I mean what the juice? Those guys didn't even put up much of a fight. I felt a little insulted going inside that tower."
Theresa looks at Randy in surprise. She blinks a couple times trying to figure out how to respond to his sudden statement of his trials. "What do you mean?"
"I'm not going to bore you with the details Theresa." Randy answers completely avoiding her question. He sighs in defeat and put his hands behind his head. "I only had one trial that felt like it was worth my time, and the old man was really helpful with the trial. I wonder if I'll ever see him again."
'Oh Randy, what did you go through in those trials?' Theresa thinks not sure how she should feel about him not answering her question.
Randy gets out of his relaxed position putting both hand on his legs and both feet on the floor. "Anyway, I know this isn't what you had in mind for us to do, but you can choose whatever you want us to do tomorrow since you allowed me to do this today."
Theresa smiles at Randy's offer. "Thanks Randy, but do you think you'll be trained by Dr. Strange and the others?"
Randy shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know, but on how I left the tower, I wouldn't be surprised if I was denied to be trained." He admits not really feeling upset about the idea. 'I still have the first Ninja to train me anyway.'
"Which is why we have decided to train you." Dr. Strange says as he and Wong enter the living room.
"Wait really? That's so bruce!" Randy yells jumping onto his feet in victory with both of his hands up in the air.
Dr. Strange smiles finding Randy's joy a little amusing. "Yes, you will be training for a couple hours every day starting the day after tomorrow. We will create a special seal that will allow you to teleport here to train once you return to your home. Your training will end once we see fit."
"Oh thank you! Thank you guys for doing for me and my sensei." Randy says overflowing with joy in his emotions.
"Your sensei is an old friend of The Ancient One. It would be foolish to push you away." Wong admits.
"Either way I'm still thankful."
"We can tell. I will see you…" Dr. Strange stops talking when a sudden disturbance hits him full force.
"What do you feel Sorcerous Supreme?" Wong asks knowing that his friend's sudden stop had to be serious.
"I honestly do not know. It feels like something is messing with the balance somewhere mystical, but it doesn't feel that recent." Dr. Strange says not liking the negative feeling he was getting.
The front doors slam open surprising the two teens, and everyone turns their attention to the voice that yells, "Sorcerous Supreme, are you here? My friends and family need help!" The four watch as a teen with dark blond hair and back eyes walk into the room.
"Uh, who are you?" Randy asks pointing his right index finger at the teen.
The teen ignores the question and sees the Eye of Agamotto hanging off of Dr. Strange's chest. "Are you the Sorcerous Supreme?" The teen asks.
"I am, but I am curious on how you know about me." Dr. Strange admits not sure how to handle the current situation.
The teen sighs and runs his left hand through his hair. "Right sorry, I'm a bit on a time limit, and the others will not like the idea that I am doing this, but we're running out of options right now."
"This sounds really serious." Theresa mutters to Randy.
"I know, and I don't know if I could even help." Randy whispers back to her.
"Start from the beginning, and it might help if we know who you are." Dr. Strange says trying to get the teen to calm down.
"Sorry, but my time is really limited at the moment. My name is Tadduja Thaur, and I come from the race of special humans known as the Monster Tamers."
And…we're going to cut here. If anyone was expecting Danny and Aelita to come in at the end, you were wrong. They will be in the next chapter, but I'm going to make a few things a little different for you guys to enjoy. I might as well add that the Danny/Aelita scene was to show Aelita's emotional turmoil she's going through along with her mom.
If you can figure out what cartoon is being added to the story next, I will congratulate you, but I do believe I never dropped any hints about this show. I hoped you guys enjoyed the chapter. R&R
