The first chapter focusing on Randy Cunningham has been posted, and I do hope you guys head on over and read it. Anyway, I do not own anything, but I hope you guys enjoy the chapter.
"I can't believe you got da Professor to agree for us to go on vacation." Kurt Wagner says as Danny drives him, Kurt, Rogue, and Dawn down the highway.
"You can say all yah want Kurt, but you are still grounded for the stunts yah pulled with Tabitha last week." Rogue reminds the blue furry mutant.
"You screw up one time, and everyone holds you for it." Kurt mutters glancing at his girlfriend who was not even giving him a glance. "How much vork do I have to do to make it up to you?"
Dawn turns her head away from Kurt getting him to sigh in defeat. "You dug your own grave dude." Danny says getting Kurt to groan.
Kurt runs his right hand through his hair thinking, 'Maybe zis vas not such a good idea.'
"Where are you planning to take us anyway?" Dawn asks Danny feeling curious on what he was planning for them.
"I was planning on taking us to the beach to relax from everything that has been going on…"
"You mean everything that has been going on in your life." Rogue interrupts her boyfriend getting him to wince at the truth in her words. "Yah go out to save people, fight villains, and still have time to teach Stacy how to control her powers. Ah'm surprised yah didn't do this sooner."
'That's because he has a good reason to do it now.' Dawn thinks as she looks at Danny's aura noticing the small fear of a certain person in his aura. 'Who would he have met that would make him like this?'
Danny smiles uneasily and says, "I didn't have a good reason to. I mean with everything going on around us with school and the new mutants; we don't really have much down time for us."
"He's not wrong about that." Dawn speaks up getting Kurt to look at her. "We try to teach everything we can to the new mutants, but some of us tend to lose our cool." She glances at Kurt who winces at the meaning to her words. "While I like to be a part of the calm environment, I know that some people don't like that."
"You don't have to keep rubbing salt on da wound." Kurt mutters sadly.
Dawn looks at Kurt who turns his head to look out the window and puts his head on his left hand. Dawn sighs sadly and mutters, "Sorry."
Flashback
Dawn stands against the wall on the right of Professor Xavier's office glaring at the door as she waits for her boyfriend, Kurt, to come out of the room. She heard from Rogue what he and Tabitha did behind everyone's backs and sighs knowing that Kurt was not used to having a girlfriend yet, but she does not want to give him the satisfaction of what he did. She hears the door open and watches as Kurt exits the room with a downcast look.
Kurt turns his head and widens his eyes when he sees his girlfriends standing against the wall with a neutral expression on her face. "How long have you been waiting?" He asks deciding that it was not worth making the situation more awkward.
Dawn sighs and walks up to her boyfriend. "I've waited since I found out." She admits getting him to sigh and look down in defeat. "Why did you do it Kurt?"
Kurt looks away and puts his hands in his pockets. "I don't know."
"Yes, you do." Dawn replies immediately. She looks over Kurt's aura and shakes her head. "You wanted to have fun like you used to with Danny, but you got carried away when Tabitha kept making things more dangerous for you guys. What I want to know is why you agreed with her."
Kurt runs his right hand through his hair and mutters, "I fell for her charm." Dawn shakes her head and walks away getting him to look at her in surprise. "Where are you going?"
"To let you think about why I decided to start dating you. I'm not breaking up with you Kurt, but don't expect me to talk to you until you figure out the answer." Dawn leaves his view and continues walking until she enters the garage where Danny was exiting his truck.
Danny walks around his truck and stops when he sees Dawn. "Hey Dawn, why are you here?" He asks unsure as to why she was in the garage.
"May we talk? I might need some help with my relationship with Kurt."
'Oh boy…' Danny thinks not sure if he was the person Dawn should talk to about relationships. He opens the back of his truck and sits down on the hatch patting on it for Dawn to come join him. Dawn walks over to him and sits down next to him wondering what he was going to say. "What did Kurt do this time?"
Dawn sighs mentally knowing Danny wanted to get an idea of the situation. "He messed around with Tabitha during a training course a couple days ago, and they got in trouble for doing that."
"That doesn't sound so bad."
"It gets worse."
Danny sighs, "Of course it does."
"Tabitha decided to go to the fair at our school and invited Kurt to go with her. I don't know what she did to convince him to go, but it hurts to know that he went with her when I told him that I will stay behind with him."
Danny runs his right hand through his hair and puts his left arm around Dawn to comfort her. Dawn leans in allowing him to comfort her through the pain Kurt unintentionally put her through. "Dawn, I'm going to say one thing that would explain most men. We're idiots when it comes to the opposite gender. Honestly, I don't even know what Rogue wants to do half the time."
"That's because you go out and protect people, and I think Rogue is feeling ignored by you when you leave to go save lives." Dawn explains getting Danny to sigh.
"Don't remind me. My relationship with Rogue is already getting complicated as it is."
"What do you mean?"
Danny sighs and runs his right hand through his hair. "When we started to date, we only had one thing in mind, and it was that we felt attracted to each other. I was the only person she could touch, and I thought nothing about it at the time. She reminded me about an old friend back at home, but I never compared the two. I've been changing so much the past few months that I've barely spent time with her. I'm starting to wonder if dating her was such a wise move."
"I see. You guys rushed into getting together that you didn't think about the consequences or back lash it could have in the future." Dawn summarizes as she sees what he was talking about.
"Honestly, Kurt would have done the same thing since he used to be hung up on asking Kitty out. She refused every time he asked, but you get my point. Rogue and I are not as connected as we used to be, and how things are now, we're not going to be lasting much longer."
"Hm…" Dawn's mind starts racking up on ideas of what Danny could do to try and reconnect with Rogue, but she realizes that Danny and Rogue might not be able to connect like they used to. "Why don't you try to take her out on a date? You could take her out to the park or something."
"Wouldn't work. My heroic part would take over since New York is a focal point for all types of villains." Danny points out getting the blond girl to sigh in agreement. "Maybe we could go out of town and head to the beach?"
"She might enjoy the idea, but Professor Xavier would not allow you two to go alone." Dawn says knowing that things are not getting any easier around the institute.
"There goes that plan."
"I'm certain you can up with something. You are crafty when it comes to making a plan."
End Flashback
'I could have worded that better.' Dawn thinks as she sighs mentally. 'I might not know how Danny convinced Professor Xavier and the other mentors to allow us to go, but I'm not going to complain about it.'
Odd Della Robbia walks onto the roof of his apartment building acting that everything was alright with his life. He looks around carefully and frowns when a certain moment came to mind.
Flashback
"Odd, you don't want to do this." Aelita says after Odd finished explaining what he was going to do.
"I'm not going to kill anyone Aelita." Odd replies turning around as his mind tries to come up with ideas on how he should free his mentor.
"I mean that you shouldn't break him out."
Odd stops his thoughts and turns around looking at Aelita feeling confused why she would say that. "Why would you tell me that?" Odd asks as he gets up off his chair. "Aelita, he has been training me for the past few weeks. Why in the world would you deny me to go and break Hawkeye out of prison for something he didn't do?!"
"Because, if you did something like that, your record for being a good person can go down the drain, and I don't want you to go down that road Odd."
"Oh, and trying to stop Hydra by thinking of killing them is any different?"
Aelita shakes her head and takes a couple steps back in shock and surprise from Odd's sudden outburst. "Kill? Odd, I'm trying to avenge Jeremy by making sure Hydra pays for what they did to him and my mom!"
"How is that any different for what I'm trying to do for my mentor?"
Aelita closes her eyes and sighs, "Breaking into a prison is against the law Odd."
"News flash Aelita, we've done even stupider things back in France!"
"Yeah, to save people from Xana's destructive ways."
Odd scoffs and looks away in anger. "That's no different from this situation."
Aelita opens her eyes sadness shown clear as day and sighs knowing that she was not going to get through to him. "Fine, just don't come crying to me when you know I'm right."
End Flashback
Odd balls his hands up and closes his eyes frustrated that Aelita did not share his view. 'I thought she would have understood.' Odd reaches into his pocket and pulls his chip out. 'Time to do this.' He activates the chip in his hand and transforms into his Lyoko form. He looks at his costume and mutters, "I still don't understand how Aelita has done this."
"There's nothing that we need to understand." Odd turns around and sees his best friend sitting on the ledge of the roof. "Aelita's powers allowed her to create the chips for us. I don't see what is needed to understand."
"Are you seriously trying to rain on my parade? You would think that your best friend would back you up when you need it." Odd says smirking at his best friend who was not returning the smile.
"I would back it up if Aelita didn't tell me what you were up to." Ulrich remarks getting Odd to frown.
"Oh…"
"Yeah…Odd, what in the world are you thinking?" Ulrich asks turning the conversation where he knows it should be.
Odd shakes his head and turns his back on his best friend. "I want my mentor to free so we can catch the person who put him there."
"What do you think you will be doing after that then?" Ulrich retorts getting Odd to turn his head glaring back at Ulrich. "You'll be running from the law or be in jail for a few years with a criminal record that cannot be removed."
"Aelita can remove it for me."
"No, she won't." Odd scoffs at Ulrich's words. "She said that what you do will affect your future. She, Yumi, and William don't want you to do this, and I don't want to see my best friend go down a path that could ruin his future."
"What future? I'm one of the laziest people when it comes to schoolwork, and the only person who helps me doesn't even go to our school!" Odd exclaims angrily. "You never help me with my homework."
Ulrich shakes his head. "That's because we don't do homework when we work together. We goof off."
Odd blinks a couple times and chuckles, "Ok, you got me there." He returns to his serious mood and glares at Ulrich. "What are you going to do then? Fight me until I learn my lesson?"
"If it comes to it, then yes." Ulrich activates his Lyoko form and reaches back grabbing the hilt of both katanas. "What do you plan to do Odd?"
"I'm going to do what needs to be done."
"A city where it is mostly beach, a guy could get used to zis." Kurt says as he puts sun glasses over his eyes.
"You still have to carry our stuff to the hotel Kurt." Danny reminds him. "Don't want the Professor and the others to find out that you did nothing to help us."
Kurt's ego deflates from Danny's reminder. "Spoil da fun man." Kurt mutters as he walks back to the truck.
"You'll have fun since most of your punishment is at the Institute." Danny turns to look at his girlfriend as she and Dawn enter their motel room. "Besides, you have a relationship to work on."
"Are you talking about me or you?" Kurt asks as he grabs Dawn's suitcase. "Don't zink I haven't noticed your lack of time vid Rogue."
Danny runs his right hand through his hair and grabs the handle of Rogue's suitcase. "Ok, I might have also taken a part of this trip to reconnect with Rogue."
"I see."
Danny sees Kurt's hurt look and sighs, "Kurt, when I started my relationship with Rogue, we didn't exactly pace things through or whatever people call it. You could say that we rushed it without thinking too much on how the future could affect our relationship."
"You're talking about your hero work."
"Yeah," Danny sighs as he shuts the back of the truck, "it's taking a big strain on my relationship with Rogue. I don't even know if she likes the idea of me risking my life."
"Who knows? You might get lucky later if she starts seeing zings your way."
"I doubt it." Danny mutters as he and Kurt walk to the motel. "We might be teenagers Kurt, but Rogue doesn't like the idea of risking things. I even heard her say that she worries about losing me while I'm out protecting people."
"Da fight against Hydra was not easy for any of us to see on the news." Kurt points out getting Danny to close his eyes and take a deep breath. "Why did you, Rachel, and Marcus fight them anyway?"
"We were protecting the virtual world, but things became more complicated afterwards."
Kurt's eyes widen in realization. "Aelita lost Jeremy but found her mother."
"That's the simple version, and to be fair I doubt she wants people to know the details of what really happened."
"That explains why you refused to tell us everything about the fight and why it took so long for you guys to come home."
'I wish that was the only reason Kurt, but some things are meant to stay unknown.' Danny thinks as they approach the girls' room. Danny sees Rogue walk out of the room and says, "I can't explain everything Kurt. You know that."
"Yeah, you're right. I vish you could zough."
Danny walks up to Rogue and hands her suitcase to her. "Thanks." She kisses Danny's cheek who smiles in response. "Ah'm going to go change before we go looking at the town."
"Cool, Kurt and I still have to go to our room."
Kurt walks into the Dawn's motel room and puts her bag down on the bed where she was meditating. He stares at her for a couple seconds and smiles sadly at her. "I'm going to get you to talk to me again. You can count on it." Kurt mutters before leaving the room.
Dawn opens her eyes and mutters, "I don't doubt it." She looks at the door as Rogue enters the room and shuts it behind her. "You and Danny have a plan to walk around the town together?"
"Yep, we plan to find out what this little town is like. We might only be here a couple days, but Ah want to enjoy all the alone time we can get." Rogue explains as she sets her suitcase down on the other bed in the room. She opens her suitcase and asks, "What do you plan on doing?"
"Collect seashells and not talk to Kurt until he realizes the real reason why I decided to date him. I might also like to see what kind of secret this town is holding." Dawn explains as she gets off her bed to grab something from her suitcase.
"What do you mean by secret?" Rogue asks feeling a little uneasy with Dawn's words.
"I don't know truthfully." Dawn opens her suitcase and pulls out a big sac. She puts the sac down on the bed and closes her suitcase. "All I know is that this place a mysterious vibe to it, and I want to find out what it is."
"Good luck with that." Rogue mutters not meaning a single word of it.
"It doesn't matter if you believe me Rogue. There is something here, and I feel like it might affect us in the future."
"You can say what you want." Rogue says as she puts her clothes from her suitcase into the middle drawer of the dresser with the television on top of it. "You got what yah like, and Ah got what Ah like."
Dawn opens the door and exits the room saying, "I'll see you later Rogue." She shuts the door behind her and walks her way to the beach to gather some seashells.
Odd blocks Ulrich's katana with his left claw and swings his right claw at Ulrich who blocks it with his other katana. "You should have let me go Ulrich." Odd tells his friend. He raises his left wrist and points it at Ulrich who gasps.
Ulrich jumps back to avoid the laser arrow only to see that Odd did not fire at him. "That was cheap Odd."
"Did you actually expect me to fire in the middle of New York? I don't want to put innocent lives in danger even though we're fighting." Odd remarks getting back into a battle stance.
"Thanks for the reminder." Ulrich runs at Odd and clashes with Odd's claws with his katanas. "This is pointless Odd."
"Then let me do what I need to do!"
"You know I can't do that!" They push each other away and stare at each other intensely.
Odd summons his Overboard and kicks it at Ulrich. Ulrich brings his katanas up and slices the Overboard getting it to devirtualize. He looks at Odd and widens his eyes when he feels a fist hit his stomach. Ulrich grunts in pain and falls onto his knees trying to bare the pain he was feeling. He looks up and sees Odd's wrist pointing at him. "You lost Ulrich."
"I haven't lost yet." Ulrich uses his super sprint and swipes Odd from under his feet. He gets back up on his feet while Odd falls onto his back grunting in pain. He points his katana in Odd's face getting the blond to stare at the katana with a bored look.
Odd whacks the katana away and kicks Ulrich in the stomach with both of his feet. He pushes off his hands and lands back on his feet staring at his best friend who was trying to keep an even breath. "I say you have." Odd raises his wrist and fires a laser arrow getting Ulrich's Lyoko form to disappear.
Odd turns around and starts walking away when he hears, "Was it worth it?"
Odd stops in his tracks and turns around to find Spiderman standing next to Ulrich as Ulrich tries to get back up on his feet. "Why are you here?"
"Your best friend asked me to watch to make sure nothing bad would happen." Spiderman explains. "The down side is that I was not expecting to find you guys fighting each other, and honestly, it's sort of lame that you guys have to rely on health bars in your hero forms."
"It's how the program works. Angelic Code is trying to change it, so we can stay in costume no matter how much damage we take." Ulrich explains as he grunts in pain of Odd's kick to his stomach. "The down side is that we can now feel pain."
"Whatever you say Ronin." Odd remarks before walking away. "I got something I need to do."
"You need to stop him." Ulrich whispers to Spiderman.
"What do you mean? Why do I need to stop him?" Spiderman asks turning his attention to Ulrich.
"Because, his mentor was wrongfully accused and put in jail, and he wants to break into it to free his mentor. All you need to do is make him feel guilty enough to stop him from making a bad choice." Ulrich explains.
"I see." Spiderman turns his attention back to Ferocious Feline and asks, "Feline, what's the hurry? You got a date or something?"
Odd stops and turns his head to look at Spiderman. "No, I wished I did though. Girls would be all over this me if they knew what I did." Odd jokes making a pose in his cat suit.
'That's going to be hard to wash out of my mind.' Spiderman thinks not liking the idea of seeing a guy pose in anything least of all a catsuit. "I guess that could be true. Girls do have the tendency for going after bad boys even those who have a criminal record."
Odd looks at Spiderman feeling the sting the words' impact held. Odd closes his eyes and sighs, "Are you trying to guilt trip me Spiderman?"
"No, but it'll be a guilt trip if you make the biggest mistake in your life." Spiderman answers truthfully. "You want to free your mentor and prove his innocence. Will it solve anything if you break him out? What would happen if you were caught and failed? You could be facing time in jail or worse, and honestly, you and Ronin can become so much more in a good way. With great power comes great responsibility."
Odd turns his head away from Spiderman and walks away feeling the weight of Spiderman's words. "I'll keep it in mind. I'll see you later." Odd virtualizes his Overboard and gets on it the board knowing that what he is about to do will affect his future. "I'm going to do what needs to be done."
Ulrich and Spiderman watch him fly off, and Spiderman turns his head to Ulrich. "Are you sure that you don't want me to go after him?"
Ulrich sighs, "You don't know him like I do. In the end I know he'll make the right decision, and that's all that matters. I think those words got through though." Ulrich looks down to see his chip on the roof next to the air vent and walks over to pick it up.
"I guess that's that then."
"Yeah, I guess it is." Ulrich mutters. He picks his chip up and sticks it in his pocket. "I'll see you around Spiderman."
"Same for you Ronin. Oh, by the way, don't try sticking me into something like that ever again. It isn't pleasant to see best friends fight. I should know." Spiderman finishes with a mutter. He turns away from Ulrich and leaves the roof allowing Ulrich to be alone to his thoughts.
Dawn walks down the beach and smiles as she breaths in the ocean air. She closes her eyes and smiles as the air makes her become calm from the worries of the world. She looks down and smiles when she sees some seashells in the sand. She reaches down and starts grabbing the seashells and putting them into her bag. 'I wonder if Kurt would enjoy doing this with me.' She thinks sighing in sadness knowing that her not talking to Kurt was being childish. 'Once he finds out why I dated him, then everything should be back to normal…Well, I might be a bit childish on that part. Nothing can be normal when it comes to us.'
"Uh, what are you doing?" Dawn hears someone asks behind her.
Dawn turns her head to see a black hair kid with a red shirt with a yellow star in the center of it, blue jeans, and red flip flops on his feet. "I'm collecting seashells." Dawn answers as she looks at the aura of the kid. 'His aura, it's definitely interesting. Who would have an aura that would be a mix of human and alien? It feels almost impossible to be true, yet here he is with that kind of aura.'
"Oh cool, may I join you? I need to do something to keep my mind off something." The kid asks.
Dawn notices the conflict going on in his aura and smiles sadly, "You can join me, but your aura is telling me that you are feeling distressed over something."
The kid blinks a couple times letting the words settle into his mind and raises an eyebrow not completely understanding what she meant. "What do you mean? Wait, did you just say my aura? Are you a psychic or something?" His confusion turns into excitement when he asks the last question.
"No, I'm not psychic." Dawn replies getting a groan of disappointment from the kid. "I'm just someone that can read people on how they are feeling."
"That's so cool!" The kid says excitingly as stars shine brightly for his eyes.
"It seems you think that about a lot of things."
"Because it's true. I mean…yeah, I deal with a lot of gem stuff, but learning that there are other humans who can do things normal humans can't is so cool." The kid explains with a big grin on his face.
Dawn blinks a couple times and mutters, "Gem stuff?"
"Oh right, we never met before, so you probably wouldn't know." The kid moves his shirt up to reveal a pink gem where his belly button would be. "I can't put it into good words, but I'm half human and half gem."
'What did I just get myself into?' Dawn thinks not sure how she should take the situation she got herself in.
Kurt stares out at the view of the ocean and sighs wishing he would be able to enjoy it with his girlfriend. He puts his hands in his pockets and starts thinking about the reasons why Dawn would want to date. 'Let's see. I am good looking, and my fur is soft, but Dawn doesn't care about zat. I mean, we did start dating because I decided to go past my fears of what she zought about me, but I doubt zat she would go out vid me because of dat. Zis is way harder dan I zought.' He runs his right hand through his hair and turns his head to see Dawn talking to someone.
Kurt walks over to his girlfriend who turns her head to look at Kurt with a blank face. Kurt winces knowing why she was giving him that look. "Uh, who are you?"
Kurt turns his head to the short teen who was talking to Dawn and says, "I'm Kurt Wagner. I'm her boyfriend."
The boy's eyes widen in realization. "Oh sorry, I was just telling her about me being half human and half gem. I didn't want to leave any wrong impressions or anything." The teen says feeling a little uncomfortable.
Kurt smiles, "Don't worry. She isn't like that at all. She only talks to strangers when she finds something interesting about them."
The young teen sighs in relief. "Oh good, I'm glad to hear that." He looks down at his watch and gasps, "Oh no, I need to get going. I promised to meet Pearl and Connie for training! I'll see you guys later!"
The couple watches him run off then turns their heads to each other. Dawn sighs and turns her back to Kurt reaching down to continue collecting her seashells. Kurt sighs, "I know zat I haven't been much of a good boyfriend since da incident, and so much has happened between us zat I lost focus on what vas really important to me." He waits hoping to get a reply from her but only sees that she stops grabbing the seashells. "I'm a terrible person for doing what I did, but having a girlfriend was something I was never expecting to have. After finding out about da fight zat Danny and Aelita went through, and that Aelita's boyfriend died to stop them got me to zink about my relationship vid you." He explains deciding to explain the reason why he made his decision to date her.
"You only have one life to live." Dawn says as she stands back up on her feet and turns her head to Kurt. "Everyone had a way to cope when they found out what really happened to Jeremy, but everyone was happy that Aelita found her mother. You didn't think about their relationship as much as you did about our relationship."
"It's true. I feared of something like zat happening to us, and I made da move to get us together, but…"
"I beat you to the punch when I kissed you first." Dawn interrupts with a small smile forming on her face. "I guess losing someone can do that to people."
Kurt smiles sadly and pulls Dawn into a hug getting her to release her bag and hug him back. "I still don't know why you decided to date me though." He mutters.
"I don't think that matters at the moment." Dawn looks up at her boyfriend's face with a smile. "You realized what was important when you started to explain the reason why you wanted to date me, and honestly, I'm touched that you even thought of it."
"Hey, I got to have some redeemable qualities." Kurt jokes getting a small giggle out of Dawn.
"That you do."
"What did you think of the carnival?" Danny asks as he and Rogue walk past a sign that said, 'Beach City Funland.'
"It was ok…Ah guess." Rogue answers not really enjoying the time they were at the carnival.
Danny sighs, "What do you want to do now?"
"Ah want to know the real reason why we're here." Rogue stops in her tracks and crosses her arms over her chest.
"What do you mean, Rogue?" Danny asks as he turns around to look at his girlfriend. "I thought we went over this in the car. I needed some time to relax and decided to invite you guys to come along."
Rogue looks away with a sigh. "Why do yah have to make it so hard to tell me the truth? Do yah not trust me?"
Danny flinches from the question and shakes his head. "Rogue, why does everything that I do have to deal with hero work? You know I have a life outside of all of that."
Rogue shakes her head. "Danny, we are in one of the smallest towns that we have ever seen. There is literally nothing here, and you want us to believe that we are here because yah chose it."
Danny closes his eyes and sighs in defeat knowing Rogue was trying to prove something. "Rogue, Aelita and I have been looking at places that would be nice to get away from it all. Yes, something weird goes on around in this town, but we decided not to dig into it. I chose this place because I figured you wanted to get away from everything and hang out like a couple should." Danny answers getting Rogue to stare at him with a blank look. "Of course, it seems you believe everything has to do with my line of work, huh?" He mutters not liking that his girlfriend would believe that.
Rogue sighs, "It's not that Ah don't believe yah, Sugarh. You have been so busy with protecting people that we barely have time to be together anymore." She runs her right hand through her hair. "Yah spend more time with Kurt than with me."
Danny shuts his eyes and takes a calm breath. "Ok, I do tend to do other things that make me forget that I have a girlfriend, and honestly, can you blame me? After the incident with Magneto, I've been given the opportunity to become something more. I know you and the others can get that too. We can be like some…hero couple or something."
Rogue shakes her head with a small giggle. "You do tend to be cute when you don't know what you need to say, Sugarh, but you and Aelita are the only X-men who have control over your powers without worrying about someone finding out. Scott can't remove his glasses, Kurt must use that watch to make people see him without his fur, Jean's recent power up caused her to lose control, and Ah still can't touch anyone except you. When do yah think we'll get control over our powers, because Ah don't see it happening anytime soon."
Danny watches as he sees the softness turn into anger in her eyes and mutters, "I wish I could be at your level of control Rogue." Rogue raises an eyebrow and crosses her arms over her chest. "If I was, then I could understand the jealousy and hurt that you and the others are feeling, and don't you dare say that you are not either of those. I know how some of the other mutants are upset that they can't go out and do what they want with their powers. Stacy even told me about how you and Kitty were upset on how Rachel and Aelita were moving so fast with their control of their powers. So, the question remains; do you want to go out and protect people with me in the future?" Danny asks putting his hand out for her to grab.
Rogue looks at Danny's hand reluctantly and realizes what he was offering her. 'This could be my chance. Ah get to be by his side, but am Ah ready to the risks?' She wonders missing the last part of the question Danny added to his question. She looks away and sighs, "Ah'm sorry Danny, but Ah'm not sure Ah can accept doing it."
Danny lowers his hand and sighs, 'I should have seen that coming. She's worried about losing me with the way she's been acting, but this trip was supposed to rekindle our relationship not becoming partners as heroes.' He moves up to be in front of her and smiles sadly as he puts his arms around her waist getting her to look up at his eyes. "Rogue, I won't lie. I enjoy the feeling when it comes to fighting people and saving lives, and you might enjoy it too sometime in the future, but I've been focused on so many things that I've been ignoring you." He kisses her right cheek getting her to smile and blush lightly.
"Yah haven't been ignoring me Danny…"
"Yes, I have Rogue. We barely do anything together outside of schoolwork, and I want to change that." He moves her hair behind her right ear getting her blush to change from light pink to a bright pink. "What do you want to do?"
Rogue smiles and leans up against Danny. "Ah think we should just go for a walk along the beach."
"Whatever you say." Danny and Rogue kiss on the lips then walk away holding hands and big smiles on their faces.
Xavier Institute at the pool
Aelita watches Stacy, who was sitting on the concrete a couple feet away from the pool, as she balances an orb of water floating above each hand. She walks around Stacy to be in front of the teen and asks, "Why do you have Danny teach this kind of stuff to you?"
"Honestly, I wanted to start small since I didn't want to hurt anyone without a reason." Stacy admits as she carefully moves the water around her hands. "I say that it makes so much progress."
"Stacy, have you gone through any of the Danger Room scenarios that would increase the amount of water you would be using?"
Stacy gives Aelita an uneasy smile and looks away with a small tint of pink on her cheeks. "I have, but the first one I went on was more to understand what kind of situations I would go through. The second one went south when Bobby decided to show off to impress me." She shakes her head at the memory. "I asked if it was possible to train by myself so I could avoid doing something that stupid."
Aelita smirks, "I can't blame you for that one."
"Storm has been so helpful though. I no longer leak water when I'm asleep, and Danny has helped me created water throwing stars."
"Wait what?"
Aelita watches as the two streams of water going around Stacy's hands transform into four-pointed shuriken. "I got the design idea from David, but I can't seem to strike up a conversation with him. Do you know why?" Stacy asks feeling a little curious as to why David barely talks to anyone.
"I got some ideas, but I'm not allowed to say anything." Aelita admits getting the brunette to sigh. "Do you even know how to throw those things?"
"Nope, Danny says that I should learn how to do something that feels right for me, and throwing stars don't feel right for me to use."
'He's not wrong about that, but having some kind of backup plan is something Stacy needs since she doesn't take the self-defense classes.' "Wait, do you even attend the self-defense classes?"
Stacy shakes her head. "Storm told me that I should think about taking the class to help with my durability, but I asked if it was possible to take up Yoga instead since I'm not a huge fan of fighting."
"I see." Aelita mutters accepting the idea that Stacy was taking something to help her body. "I do believe we should have you learn how to use those shuriken just in case you get into a tight spot, and it will help you learn how to throw and aim at specific targets like a rope or string."
Stacy grabs both shuriken and looks over them carefully. "Sounds fair, I guess." Stacy absorbs the water into her body and stands up to stretch her legs. "What kind of weapon did you train with when you came here?"
Aelita puts her right arm around Stacy's neck and smiles, "Truthfully, my friends Ulrich and Yumi learned how to fight using katanas and fans."
"Fans? Do you mean those fans that people use to wave around to cool themselves off from the heat?"
"Yes, let's just go with your explanation."
Stacy blinks finding the idea of fighting with fans interesting. "Wow, that sounds pretty cool, but I guess there are more to her fans than originally given."
"Correct, but we'll talk about that later." Aelita says pushing the talk about weapons for another conversation. "I need to talk to David about letting him show you all the types of weapons you could use to make to defend yourself with."
"Sounds fair." Stacy admits before her phone goes off in her pocket. "And there's Candice." She reaches into her pocket and pulls her phone out putting it up to her ear. "Hey Candice, how's it going?"
Aelita walks away leaving Stacy alone to talk to her best friend and heads for her room when her communicator goes off. She activates her wings and flies up to her room and phases into her room. She deactivates her wings and sits down on her chair ready to have her private conversation with her friend. She brings up a holo-screen and sees Ulrich's concerned face. "How'd it go?" She asks him, knowing that he was calling about his encounter with Odd.
"Well, hello to you too Aelita." Ulrich remarks getting Aelita to smirk.
"Sorry, I'm just concerned about Odd." Aelita apologizes.
"I am too, but we'll just have to wait and hope he makes the right choice."
"What happened between you guys?"
"We fought, and he won." Ulrich admits getting Aelita to roll her eyes at the blunt explanation. "I had Spiderman come and talk to Odd since he doesn't want to listen to us. I thought he could get Odd to think about what he is about to do."
Aelita sighs, "I guess that will have to do then. All we have to do is wait and see what he does next." She leans back on her chair and mutters, "I don't want to be fighting him and sending him to jail."
"Neither do I, but there's nothing we can do. Whatever happens next is up to him. I wish I could have convinced him to stay, but Yumi said that I can't force Odd to do anything at this moment."
"She's not wrong, but none of us have been in a situation like this before. All of us have made mistakes at one point in time concerning Lyoko, but Odd's decision will affect everyone, and rewinding time can't change it."
Ulrich snickers, "I wish it could, but you're right." Ulrich runs his hand through his hair and sighs, "Could you keep an eye on Odd when he gets to the prison? I need to know what he decides to do."
"I'll keep you and the others posted." Aelita glances back at the window realizing that she and Stacy were not finished with Stacy's training. "I got to go. I'll talk to you later Ulrich."
"See you later Princess."
David stares worryingly at the four containment units and looks over the four unconscious kids inside them. He runs his hand through his hair and sits down on the chair allowing him to see them and think about the situation they got themselves in. "Hey guys, I know that you guys probably can't hear me, but I feel like this is necessary." He runs his hand through his hair and mutters, "I hate seeing them like this."
"I can't blame you." David turns his head to see Maurice. "Just tell them what is on your mind. No one except me will know what you will be saying to them."
David nods his head appreciating that Maurice was backing him up. David takes a deep breath and turns his attention to his teammates. "I wish you guys were awake. We've been through so much as a team, but our lives were ruined by Father. Now I wake up a teenager, and you guys are still in the kid age unconscious in these pods." David sighs, "I've learned so much about things going on during our stasis, and so much has changed. Number 1 has betrayed us, I'm a mutant who can create all types of weapons with this weird type of energy, and there is a Teens Next Door."
David runs his hand through his hair and smiles, "I wish you guys could be here with me. There are so many people we would make as friends, but I guess not everyone is so lucky, huh? I barely get any time to come see you guys since I have training to control my power, but I've been improving."
Maurice smiles at the scene and leaves the room to find Jason/Number 100 walking up to the room. "Hello, Number 9, is everything going well here?"
"Yes sir, Number 0.2 is just talking to his team. I decided that he needed the privacy." Maurice explains pointing his thumb at the door behind him.
Jason frowns, "I see. Has Fury been making you work harder?"
"No and thank goodness for that. He does want me and Number 362 to check out the Hydra base Angelic Code and her team were at before it blew up, but he's been backing off when giving me orders."
Jason nods happy with Maurice's answer. "Good, make sure David gets back to his place safely. I don't want us to lose any of the Sector Z members. It wouldn't look good for any of us if that happens."
"Will do sir." Maurice watches his leader leave and mutters, "Now all I have to do is convince Rachel to come and fly me there since Fury refuses to let me learn how to fly a plane. Life just has to make things hard, doesn't it?"
A figure walks down the beach and stops when the figure sees two people walking across the beach holding hands. The figure watches them as they disappear from its view. 'So, it has finally happened.' The figure thinks as it looks up at the sky. "The mutant X-gene has gotten a new host."
"Are you certain?" Another person asks as it walks up next to the taller figure. "He did tell us that he was going to be passing the X-gene on to someone, but that was over 300 years ago."
"Yes, it has finally happened, and the new holder has so much to learn about it."
Well, that's one way to end a chapter. I know people were expecting Danny and Rogue's relationship to end soon, but that will not be happening for a little while longer. I just got Danny and Rogue to start reconnecting, and Kurt and Dawn are back on good terms as well.
The next chapter will be about the four finding out what these two figures were talking about and about Maurice's mission to the Hydra base with Rachel. Danny will be finding out stuff about his X-gene, and we're going to be finding out what happened with the base after it was destroyed by Jeremy.
I know a lot of people want the relationship between Danny and Aelita to start, but their relationship cannot be rushed. I was going to break Danny and Rogue up, but I realized that ending their relationship on a sour note was not necessary since their relationship matters a lot more than I realized. They'll be together for a bit longer, and I need you guys to believe in what I plan for Danny's love life.
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter and leave a review. I would love to read on what you thought about the chapter. R&R
