Reyna and Jason try to strike Godspeed but his speed is too much. The son of Jupiter felt a punch hit him and sent flying.

"Jason!" Reyna shouts her fellow Praetor. The name stops Thalia however. "Jason? Is that you-"

She is interrupted as a punch hits her and lands next to Jason. Reyna tries to comply with Godspeed of the times they had. "August, listen to me! Whatever promise Minerva gave you cannot equal our deaths. You are my friend. We served in the same Legion and fought monsters together."

"And look where it got me. You chose Jason Grace over me to be Co-Praetor! You voted for him! She gave me a portion of Mercury's speed and all I have to do is destroy the camp for the rest!" Godspeed runs to the point of a white blur and strikes the Co-Praetors. Reyna and Jason fall but Thalia tries to stab the speedster but she misses with Godspeed standing beside her and wraps his arm around her shoulder. "What are you hitting girl?"

She gasps in shock but hits him with her spear. However he grabs the spear and rips the tip off it. He stabs her in the side and laughs as she falls to the ground. "Better luck nice time, little girl."

"My name is Thalia Grace!" The daughter of Zeus rips the spear tip of her side and stabs him on his leg. "AGH BITCH!"

Reyna acts quickly and grabs a shield. She bashes him in the face with it and Jason stabs him with his sword. The wounds heal quickly however and Godspeed punches both of them to force them back. Jason wields his sword and goes against the speedster. "I don't want to fight you, August. But you disgrace this camp with your actions."

"Minerva has given me a place in her new pantheon. I am the God of Speed now. Mercury may have been my father but I am now his better!" August declares his new name and title. Jason slashes at him while Reyna runs to check on Thalia however he dodges it and hits the son of Jupiter with a flurry of punches. Godspeed takes his sword and throws it away as he hits him again but this time, he is shocked out of nowhere. Jason encases lightning in his body and strikes Godspeed in the face. The force launches him but the son of Mercury lands on his feet and runs at him. The Co-Praetor is grabbed and slammed headfirst into the wall and suddenly finds himself thrown outside. He gets up to see Godspeed behind him so he elbows him in the nose, dazing him enough for Jason to grab his leg and perform a side sweep to fall Godspeed. He mounts him and hits him with lightning punches. If Godspeed doesn't get up, perhaps Jason Grace can win.

"Get off!" Godspeed shouts and punches Jason which knocks him off the wannabe god. He stands and stares at his fist to see white static coming off it. Curious with an idea, August focuses lightning into his hand and energy in the form of a sword comes out of his hand. "This power, yes I am a god! Velocity itself is under my command. Tag you're dead."

He races toward Jason and stabs him on the chest. He grunts in pain as Thalia shouts in grief. "JASON NO!"

But the son of Jupiter grabs Godspeed and shoots lightning into him. The new God of Speed simply absorbs the power and mocks him as he feels stronger. "Is that all you can do Jason Grace? You are just making me stronger. I cannot lose no matter what. I am now the last Roman!" However he feels his body can't take the excess energy anymore. "Wait what? Stop… Stop! My body is going to explode from the power!"

But Jason keeps summoning lightning and it enters Godspeed's body. Thalia tries to stop him but Reyna grabs her and holds her down. "Let me go! He is my brother!"

"And he is my friend but this may be the only way to defeat August!"

"It's okay guys, I am ready to sacrifice myself to stop this bastard!" Jason shouts as someone like this can't live. He looks at Thalia and gives a sad look. "So you are my sister. I wish we had time to talk. Goodbye sis. Reyna, please watch over her for me."

Jason Grace and Godspeed create an explosion with Reyna carrying Thalia and getting away from it but Diana jumps between them and the explosion. She holds her shield out to block the blast from the two demigods. Once it dissipates, Godspeed and Jason are gone but the others are okay. Thalia cries to lose her brother once again but Reyna and Diana comfort her. "It's okay daughter of Zeus though he is gone, your brother cared for you to sacrifice himself for you."

"You are a daughter of Zeus?" Reyna can't believe this revelation. Before she can ask questions a giant beam of energy is fired into the sky. The force knocks them back as they look up at the beam. Diana is worried and shouts the one person she knows is there. "PERCY!"

(Earlier)

Annabeth wakes up with pain in his head. "What happened? I was hit by a white blur then- Wait the helmet!"

She looks around the ground and finds the Helmet of Ares. The daughter of Athena is about to grab it but Percy appears and takes it first. Annabeth tries to take it away but he kicks her on the stomach. "I don't think so Annie. This is mine."

"Listen to me Percy, that helmet is corrupting you. If you keep using it then it will consume you." Annabeth pleads with him but he doesn't listen to her and places the helmet on his head.

"This is my power! Not Ares! He is dead and I was the one to do it! I deserve it and you and your mother can't stop that!" Percy feels the power of war comes back to his body. His suit of armor reappears but suddenly feels great pain. He screams as energy shoots out of his body. A voice speaks to him. Familiar but different. 'I must thank you Perseus Jackson. Your body is mine!'

Wonder Woman runs to the entrance of Camp Jupiter and sees Percy standing, motionless. Annabeth is shaking him, yelling at him. "Percy don't listen to him! Whatever he is promising you is a lie!"

"Get off him!" Diana grabs her and pushes her off him. She checks on him but he's face is vacant. "Percy, are you okay?"

He suddenly grabs her by the neck and throws her right next to Annabeth. Percy's eyes change to red and his armor changes form into a dark Roman armor. "Well well… To think this new form would make me stronger than before."

His voice is not at all Percy's. But it is someone that Diana has the displeasure of knowing. "Ares."

"You are half right Wonder Woman. You stand before the last Roman god: Mars. I should thank my foolish Greek side for creating this helmet." The God of War declares his name as he summons swords and launches them at Annabeth and Diana.

Perseus opens his eyes to find himself in a coliseum. It looks like the one that he saw in the history books. Mars teleports in front of him and smiles. "Welcome to The Flavian Amphitheatre. Home and Graveyard of Gladiators. My land of worship where such magnificent battles took place. Such deaths were made in my name. Good times."

The Merciless summons a greatsword and to cleave Mars but he creates a battleaxe and clashes together, creating a shockwave. "Get out of my head Mars!"

"I don't think so, Percy Jackson. Your body is mine!"
