Chapter Six
The Rescue
Everybody was looking at Carter in shock. Carter looked just as shocked.
"I-I can't believe it," uttered Carter in shock, "We all thought she was dead."
"What are you talking about, Mr Pewterschmidt?" questioned Joe in a serious manner.
"Kate was Lois's younger sister," sighed Carter, who suddenly seemed even older than he already was, "When she was just eight, Kate went missing in a park."
"But how come we've never heard of her?" asked Peter in confusion.
"Because, I … uhhh, never reported it." answered Carter sheepishly.
"WHAT!" cried everyone in unison.
"It was a ransom demand," explained Carter, "I didn't want to waste any of my money, so I refused to pay when the kidnappers called."
"So, you left your own daughter to die?" cried Jake in disgust.
"He certainly did!" hollered a familiar voice.
The others watched as Babs marched towards her husband and slapped him across the face.
"That hurt!" barked the elderly man.
"Well it serves you right!" scolded Babs before turning to face the others, "I wanted to hand over the money, but Carter wouldn't let me. Now, I think we should try and rescue my daughter and grandson. Carter can come and try to fix the mess he started."
"Y-you can't be serious," whimpered Carter, "It's not my fault that I care so much about money."
Carter gulped as be saw every other person in the room giving him death glares.
Over at the Warehouse, Kate had just finished telling Lois what Carter had told the others.
"But, how are you still alive?" asked Lois, who still couldn't quite believe what was happening.
"It turned out that the kidnappers were bluffing," replied Kate, "They had no intention of killing me. They tried burying me alive, but I escaped, and so, I became homeless."
"So, you've been living on the streets this whole time?" cried Lois in shock, "Oh my god, I am so sorry, Kate."
"LIAR!" snapped Kate as she struck the other redhead across the face, knocking her to the floor, "Any one of you could've tried to find me over the years, but you didn't. All my friends are the people I befriended on the streets. We survived for years. Then I saw you one day with your husband and children, leading me to devise this whole kidnapping scheme. I was never interested in the money, only revenge against my family."
Lois looked at her sister with sympathy; Kate had clearly suffered greatly, and needed help.
"Please, just stop this," pleaded Lois as she got to her feet, "I can help you. I'll make sure you get all the therapy you need. I won't let Daddy or a court throw you in an insane asylum."
"I DON'T WANT YOUR HELP!" shrieked Kate before kicking Lois in her side, knocking her to the floor, "I want you to suffer."
Kate pulled Lois up by the arms and threw her to two of the masked thugs, who dragged the terrified woman into another room.
Soon after, a dozen Quahog S.W.A.T. officers arrived, along with Peter, Joe, Carter, Jake and Gina.
"Right, be on your guard!" said the S.W.A.T. commander as he spoke into a megaphone, "There are multiple hostiles in the building and two hostages. Good luck to all of you."
"Oh God, I need to pee." cried Peter in exasperation, dancing around like an idiot.
"Damnit, Peter, you should've gone earlier!" cried an annoyed Joe.
"What's the plan, Swanson?" asked Carter.
"Right, Peter, you-
But when Joe turned to face Peter, he was gone. "Peter? Peter?" he called out in confusion before throwing his radio to the ground in frustration, "Damnit!"
Inside the warehouse, Lois was sat against a wall, hugging Stewie in a protective manner. The redhead's ears pricked up as she heard a familiar voice.
"Hey, can I use the bathroom?" asked Peter as he entered the room.
"Peter, thank God." cried Lois in relief.
Peter ran towards his wife and child, but quite suddenly, two of the masked thugs leapt out of nowhere and pinned the obese man to the floor. Kate, the couple that burnt the station wagon and the other masked thugs entered the room.
"Looks like your dumbass husband tried to save you," sneered Kate, "My revenge is going to be sweet."
The two thugs let go of Peter. The other thugs joined them and began punching and kicking the man, ignoring his terrified crying and begging.
"Ooohhh, Peter!" cried Lois in terror as the couple grabbed the redhead by the feet and dragged her to the centre of the room, "Please, leave Peter alone. Don't hurt him."
"Stop it, Kate!" barked a familiar voice, causing everyone to turn in its direction.
Carter had entered the room. He glared straight at Kate before giving her a sympathetic smile, "Come on, sweetheart, you don't want to hurt anybody."
"Daddy." cried Lois and Kate in surprise.
"We can talk about this," insisted Carter calmly as he walked towards his long lost daughter, "I'll give you whatever you want."
The elderly man walked right up to Kate. "you can keep the money … as big a pain as he may be, Lois wouldn't forgive me if I let anything bad happen to her husband."
"Thanks, Carter." groaned Peter.
Kate walked towards Carter, as if she were about to give him a hug. The two then hugged, only for Carter to suddenly grunt in pain. The elderly man staggered back and looked down at the blood seeping from a wound in his gut. Kate looked at him in shock while holding a bloody knife.
Peter, Lois and Stewie watched in shock as Carter fell backwards on to the floor.
"DADDY!" shrieked Lois.
There was a sudden bright flash. The room filled with smoke and the Quahog S.W.A.T. officers stormed in with their guns raised and yelling for Kate's gang to get down on their knees, which they did. Joe, Jake and Gina approached Kate, who was still holding the knife.
"Drop the knife, Kate!" ordered Joe as he, Jake and Gina raised their guns and aimed them at her, "I think enough blood has been spilt."
Kate hesitated for several seconds before slowly dropping the knife, going down on her knees and placing her hands to the back of her head.
Jake walked over and kicked the knife away, while Gina got behind Kate and placed handcuffs on her. "Kate Pewterschmidt, you are under arrest for the abduction of Stewie Griffin, conspiring to kidnap Lois Griffin, assault and the attempted murder of your own father." she declared as she hauled Kate to her feet and frogmarched the redhead out of the building while reading out her rights, "You have the right to remain silent, though anything you do say can and will be used against you in a court of law."
Joe quickly rolled over to Carter and pulled out his radio in order to call for ambulances.
(AN) And that was the penultimate chapter of The Abduction of Stewie Griffin. I hope you all enjoyed.
So, what will happen now? Will Carter survive? What will become of Kate. Well, you'll just have to wait and see.
