Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters portrayed in this work of utter fiction.
I recline at my desk thinking upon my current situation and future plans. Whimsically I ponder about my pawns…
Katsuragi-She desperately wanted to destroy the angels at any cost, and although she hates me because of my demeanor she needs me to exact her vengeance to satisfy her incessant need to avenge her father. The recent departure of Kaji left her more emotionally insecure than before...but that was my hope
Ritsuko- She was as easily manipulated as her mother. Desperately seeking my tender embrace, she desires the warmth and compassion that was lacking in her development. Also the scientific intrigue surrounding the Evangelions no doubt attracted her...
Ibuki- So devoted to Ritsuko and yet so blind as to her true purpose; she was a possible replacement to the "good doctor", should said doctor become unmanageable. As long as Ritsuko remain loyal, so would she, due to her infatuation with
The alarm klaxons blaring pull me out of my introspection. As I watch the "saviors of the earth" entering their EVAs, I muse on the Children's own willingness to sacrifice themselves for my ambition or "saving the world", at least in front of his subordinates and the rest of the world, but to SEELE he would always report that instrumentality was his first objective.
Asuka- Obviously the easiest of the Children to manipulate. With the rather dramatic suicide of her mother, she had an inferiority complex the size of Tokyo-3. All one needed to do was insult her ability to pilot and she was already one foot inside her "precious Unit 02". Little did she know that her mother...
Rei- Being her guardian and raising her kept her loyal only to me. She would follow my orders no matter the consequence, which was exactly why she was to be my pawn to unleash Third Impact, and eradicate the populace missed by the First and Second. Additionally, should this second version of Rei become unstable or too emotionally attached all that was need was to have her die and replace her with another one of the endless amounts of clones.
Shinji- My own offspring and the pilot of Unit 01. I do enjoy tormenting the boy. I slightly push for Shinji to develop more than friendly feelings for Rei, if only that he may face hell on earth once I allow Shinji to learn of Rei's unique nature. I additionally desire Yui to become aware and have Shinji's soul replace hers within Unit 01, if it is at all possible, but if not, then Third Impact shall remedy the situation if it is
The Children return from their defeat of the angel, and I absently think of Kaji and his recent betrayal.
Kaji- He was the only unaccounted for person here, but I did get a perverse pleasure in the antics of the former lovers, Kaji and Misato. Asuka was in love with him at first which cemented her to NERV as long as he was here, thus making him an integral part. But he was very flighty when it came down to the Angels. That made him semi-unpredictable, but his blunder in his attempt at the Third Child annulled this uncertainty. Now nothing stands in my path to Yui, after all…if one had to go…why not go out with the biggest bang imaginable…
Author's notes: This is a rewrite of my first fiction. Let me know if it has improved or worsened. I also attempted to throw in some stream-of-consciousness (too much Faulkner). Let me know if it was effective and how I might perfect it. To those of you that don't know about the fourth vantage point, stream-of-consciousness, it has a few conventions, time distortion being the most prominent, and…I can't remember the others. Oh, and if you spot any grammatical, plot, or cohesion problems, let me know.
Until the next time,
Genryuu
