House was getting bored with classical music. The trouble was, he reflected, that he played the piano. Most rock and roll (at least the rock and roll that he liked) just didn't sound right when played on a piano. Maybe he should take up guitar? "Shredding hot licks" did sound a lot cooler than "tickling the ivories".
No, he decided, not the guitar. It was too uncool when played sitting down. (That was one definite advantage of the piano.) Maybe the drums…
It hit him one day while listening to a record from the eighties. What he really needed to do was get a synthesizer.
