EPISODE 11 – NO POKEMON – NO SERVICE!

INTRO: Team Heroes, Bee, Ranger Orchid, and their Pokémon ended up in Entomo Forest's Enchanted Woods after accidentally falling from a cliff. There, they discovered that Team EXO had invaded the area in order to infiltrate the colossal ancient tree, where the legendary bug-type Pokémon Entomogul sleeps. After battling a couple of Team EXO grunts and escaping a lot of wild angry swarms of bug-type Pokémon, Team Heroes and company took cover and ended up in a cave. The cave turned into an underground hive where Bebe, Bee's Pokémon, evolved into an Abeequeen. Abeequeen sensed danger and led them to the core of the ancient tree, where Team EXO officer Lethe and Dr. Aethon were located; they wanted to steal Entomogul's legendary item and catch Entomogul itself but ultimately failed. Team Heroes and company were able to hold off Team EXO until their backup showed up, Professor Irving and Fhranisa's champion David, but Team EXO escaped with Entomogul's legendary item. Shortly after, Entomogul turned into its Terrestrial Form and fell into a comatose state. Irving and David showed up and helped taking care of Team EXO's aftermath within the ancient tree; after the investigation, they returned to the Ranger Union with Entomogul, joined by Orchid, Coco, and Irving's research team…

[Entomo Forest/Enchanted Woods/Ancient Tree/Thursday]

"AAAHHH‼" screamed Belen all creeped out.

"UH?! WHAT?! WHAT'S HAPPENING?!" everyone woke up alarmed and disoriented.

"Belen, what's the matter?!" asked Francis and got near her.

"Francis! There's…there's something sleeping next to me…and I'm afraid…I'm afraid it's a big bug!" Belen was petrified; she didn't want to move and startle the thing sleeping next to her.

"Something's snoozing inside your sleeping bag, you say?" everyone got close, and took a look.

"I WON'T LET ANY BUGS OR ANY CREATURES SCARE YOU, SIS!" shouted Johnny; he grabbed a tree branch and approached Belen, "Just stay put, sis, and I will take care of this!" Johnny studied the sleeping bag and spotted a bulge on the right side of Belen's hips; the creature seemed to have gotten underneath Belen's sleeping quilt and fallen asleep. Johnny began lifting the quilt slowly with his left hand while holding the tree branch with his right hand ready to confront the creature, but then…

"Wait Johnny! That looks like a Pokémon!" Francis and Josh were able to make out what it was.

"A Pokémon, eh?" Johnny and Bee were surprised.

Belen calmed down, but she was still trembling in fear; she kept thinking it was a bug-type Pokémon, "What are you guys going to do?"

"Well, if it is a Pokémon, maybe we should have Markitty deal with it!" thought Francis.

Johnny wasn't scared of Pokémon, so he lifted the quilt and exposed the sleeping Pokémon, "I'LL DEAL WITH IT! UH?"

"What kind of Pokémon is it, brother? What kind?!" Belen had closed her eyes once her quilt was removed.

"I'm…I'm not sure…but it is kind of adorable…" expressed Johnny; he lowered his guard and let go of the tree branch.

"I've seen this Pokémon before, around the forest!" declared Bee; she was swayed by the Pokémon's beauty.

"THAT'S A JEWELAIR, GUYS!" yelled Josh excitedly and accidentally woke up the Pokémon.

"HUH?!" everyone looked at it.

The Pokémon woke up, yawned, and opened its eyes slowly; then, it looked up, looked around, and finally freaked out, "AIRR‼ AAAAAIIIIRR‼ JEWELAIIIRR‼" cried the Pokémon and began flying.

"AAAHHHH‼" everyone freaked out as well.

Belen stared into Jewelair's eyes, Jewelair stared into Belen's eyes, and then it dashed off.

Everyone was confused for a moment, "What was all that about…"

Team Heroes and Bee gathered their belongings and placed them in their backpacks. They could see the sun rising and shining thru the tree's hole Team EXO created last night to escape. They only had a few snacks left with them, so they shared them all for breakfast and ate very little; they decided to restock on supplies once they arrive to Entomo Town. Using the ropes David and Irving used to climb the tree yesterday, they descended to ground level and said farewell to the colossal ancient tree. David updated Josh's PokePAD yesterday and the map application was working properly. Josh led the way and they all made it back to Route 2 safely.

[Entomo Forest/Route 2/Thursday Morning]

Team Heroes and Bee were walking southward Route 2 cheerfully; they seemed to have had a good night's rest and shared their Pokémon training experience so far with each other. They were chatting while admiring the landscape Route 2 is surrounded with…

"GUYS! The map shows that we're getting close to Entomo Town!" said Josh while analyzing the map on his PokePAD, "But it looks like there's a big lake nearby!"

"A lake?"

"Yeah! Just half a mile from us; this lake is located at the outskirts of the town!" stated Josh.

"Oh, yes! Entomo Lake is located adjacent to Route 2 and just before we hit the town, if I remember correctly!" declared Bee.

"DOPE! But we need to go to the town right away and get our gym badges, team!" declared Francis seriously and determined to make it happen.

"That sounds groovy, bro, but I think it's better if we let our Pokémon train just a tad bit more before we actually challenge any gyms…" commented Johnny.

"I actually agree with my brother for once…" expressed Belen, "And it will be great if we train around the lake! Pokémon training with a view, what do you say, Francis?"

"Mmm…training, eh…" Francis was thinking and walking at the same time.

"LOOK! There's the lake's pier!" yelled Josh excitedly; he ran to the pier's entry and looked around.

"Oh yeah! The pier!" Everyone looked and enjoyed the scenery, but then noticed a lonely boy with his Pokémon at the end of the pier. They decided to walk on the pier slowly while looking at the water underneath, but after a long moment, they reached the pier's end. The boy, who seemed to be around Francis' age, and his Pokémon were sitting on the edge of the pier, looking down at the water, and sighting in a disappointing and frustrated tone…

-Clearing his throat- "U-hump…hello, buddy…" said Francis timidly.

"Hi, there…" said everyone else.

The boy didn't respond; he was still staring at the water with such a depressing mood, but then his Pokémon realized they had company and looked back, "KITTI! KITTI! TIIIMEE‼" meowed the Pokémon.

"AWW! SO CUTE‼" shouted Belen and Bee.

"That's a Kittime!" shouted Josh and approached it to pet it, but then the Pokémon got the boy's attention and he finally snapped back to reality…

"UH?! What?! What is it, friend?" asked the clueless boy; Kittime pointed behind him, and then he turned around, "OH! Hello!"

Everyone got a bit awkward, but then Francis broke the ice, "Hello, buddy!"

"OH! I'm sorry if we are in the way…we didn't mean to take over the pier's end…" the boy stood up.

"OH NO! It's all good!" said everyone.

The boy and Kittime moved out of the way and continued to stare at the water waving while feeling the breeze; he sighed.

Team Heroes and company stared at each other puzzled and wondered if the boy was really okay; they decided to speak to him and ask if he needed any help. Francis, appointed by his team, approached the boy and said, "We were just looking around, buddy, but then we noticed the two of you sitting here all alone looking somewhat under the weather…" Francis paused, "Are you guys meditating, or daydreaming, or are you actually in any kind of trouble?"

The boy, surprised, looked down to his feet and said, "EH? Why'd you say that? It shows?" The boy got confused and his Pokémon was holding onto his leg.

"NO buddy, nothing like that…it's just that you didn't notice when we got close to you, even though we were kind of noisy and said hello...you also seem like you're holding the world's weight on your shoulders…" explained Francis concerned for the boy, "My team and I wanted to know if you are okay…"

"Team?" The boy thought for a minute, "Do you really care about how I feel?" the boy looked astounded, but then glanced at everyone in the group, and felt somewhat safe opening up, "Thanks for asking, pal. It...it means a lot…by the way, my name is Adam…"

"Hello, Adam!" said everyone with a welcoming smile.

"Adam, I am Francis! And this is my team: Johnny, Belen, and Bee!" Francis pointed at every single one of his teammates, "And this is my little brother, Josh!"

"Hello, everyone…" Adam was acting a bit reserved still, "how's it going…"

"Hey Adam! Is it okay to pet your Kittime?" interrupted Josh, very eager to make a new Pokémon friend.

"Oh no, this little guy…is actually not my Pokémon…" disclosed Adam, while petting Kittime.

"WHAT…it is not your Pokémon?!"

"This little guy is my bestie and it lives around this lake; every time I come around here and spots me, it comes out to spend time with me; it also wants to get fed some of the restaurant's leftovers I always bring with me…"

"Really?" Everyone looked amazed, "That's awesome..."

"Yeah…I met it a long while back…I think…I think I was here at this pier trying to fish…Kittime was around the pier looking for food and then had noticed that I was using some delicious leftovers as bait for fishing…Kittime had this hungry look on its face and wanted to eat so bad so I invited it to get closer to me and I gave him the leftovers; after that, every time I come to the lake, it seeks me out to get fed and to also keep me company…" Adam seemed in high spirits after telling that story; the Kittime realized Team Heroes and company posed no danger and began sniffing Josh curiously.

"JAJAJA! That tickles!" Josh got happy that Kittime started to play with him.

"That's a really wonderful story, Adam!" said Belen.

"It really is! It sounds like you really care about that little guy!" expressed Bee.

"Groovy! I want to know what kind of Pokémon it is though, so let's see…" Johnny, using his smartphone, activated his PokeDEX App and scanned Kittime…

[POKEDEX:

017) Kittime – The Timekeeper Kitten Pokémon [PSYCHIC] (Baby Pokémon)

"Kittime are a male-only species of psychic Pokémon with the ability to keep time and use it whenever they please; they do so by using their special whiskers as if they were the hands of a clock, but they're only limited to keep up to 24 hours. After keeping time and not using it, Kittime goes into nap mode, in which its body releases the time it had consumed thus creating some déjà vu or time skipping moments for some beings around it. Since it is just a baby Pokémon, it doesn't know much about its own abilities and how to properly use them, so most of its time is spent napping. If properly trained and cared for, a powerful Kittime is able to gift their trainers with time travel (past only)."

POSSIBLE ATTACKS: Confusion/Teleport/Mimic/Hidden Power]

"A Psychic type? That's neat!" commented Johnny after storing his smartphone away.

"If you two are happy with each other then, how come the long face, buddy? Any issues at home? School?" Francis was curious; he recalled Adam had mentioned a restaurant.

"Yeah, if Kittime keeps you company, why are you over here looking sad?" wondered Belen.

Adam stared at the lake, thought for a moment, stared at Team Heroes, and finally vented, "Well…I am…I am having issues at home, with my grandparents and little sis…"

"UH? What kind of issues?" wondered everyone, "If it's okay to ask, though..."

"See that building over there on the other side of the lake?" Adam pointed to a place opposite of the pier.

Everyone looked and noticed there was a place that looked like a huge mansion; they looked again and realized it was a restaurant with a waterfront, "What's that place, Adam?"

"My family owns that building, which includes a restaurant and lounge downstairs and a huge apartment upstairs…and I live there…" shared Adam subtly.

"Really?!" everyone was shocked.

"Does that mean you're related to the Greene?" asked Bee, "I remember making deliveries with my mom to that place a couple of times before, but I never been inside…I know about the old couple that own it and live there as well, but I've actually never met their family…"

"Impressive, you're spot on!" said Adam fascinated by Bee's insight, "Yes, my grandparents run that restaurant over there and sometimes I help with work…but lately…" he paused and reflected.

"That's cool!" Team Heroes were impressed; Josh was still playing with Kittime, "But what's the matter, then?"

"Don't get me wrong, I mean…our food is extraordinarily good! We get our fresh produce from the farmers' market in Entomo Town and we make sure that all our suppliers are all-natural and our supplies are healthy, earthy, and safe for people to consume! We always aim to serve fresh, organic, delicious, and exotic dishes as we take pride in our recipes and quality…but…but there's a catch…" explained Adam heartily but then his profile changed.

"All of that sounds really amazing, Adam!" agreed everyone, but then -GGGRRRRR!- "Oops! Our stomachs..." Team Heroes and Josh' stomachs growled; listening to Adam talking about food has made them hungry, "Sorry, we had a little breakfast and now it seems like we could use a meal…"

Adam chuckled and smiled, "No worries…I am myself hungry too…I woke up and decided to take a walk around the lake without eating breakfast now that I think about it…" -Looking at his AirWatch- "It's not even nine yet, so lunch isn't ready…I think maybe we can get my Oma and Opa to prepare us brunch…"

"Brunch?!" everyone's eyes sparkled.

"Yeah…" Adam paused, "But I wonder...since we're not open yet, would they follow the dining standards?"

"What do you mean?" asked everyone.

"There's something you should know about my family's restaurant…"

Everyone was paying attention, "What is it, Adam?"

"In order to get a table and service, you have to defeat the hostess and maître d' in a Pokémon Multi Battle!"

"POKEMON MULTI BATTLE? You serious?!"

"Yes, I'm serious!" declared Adam, "After win the battle, the etiquette is that you must sit with your Pokémon, the one you battled with, and eat together at the table as a family…"

"Wow, that's something unique..." everyone was baffled.

"Yes, and lastly, IF you'd like your meal to be free…" explained Adam, "You must challenge and defeat both my grandparents in another Multi Battle!"

"Get out of here!" Everyone was perplexed and intrigued, looking at each other.

"I know…but trust me, my family's tradition is sacred and followed among members and staff no matter what; if you wanna dine at our restaurant, you better have a Pokémon and be a good trainer…if you don't have a Pokémon, kinda like me, they will say to you: "No Pokémon, no service!" and show you the way to Entomo Diner…" Adam sounded impartial, "You are Pokémon trainers, right?"

"YEAH, all of us are Pokémon trainers, buddy…with the exception of my little brother Josh here, who is still kinda young to be one…" shared Francis.

"But next year I'll turn ten and I will be able to become one!" shared Josh.

"That's good to hear, I guess…" said Adam, "You guys shouldn't have any issues getting in, then…" Adam looked at Kittime and said, "Pal, I'm going to get a meal with these cool kids we've just met…I will be back with some leftovers for you later, okay?!"

"KIIIITTTIII! KIIITTTIIIMEE!" Kittime jumped with joy, but then became bummed out once it saw Adam leaving.

Adam led the group, "Follow me…"

"YEY! FOOD!" Everyone was ecstatic and followed Adam.

"UH?!" Belen caught something with the corner of her eye, stopped, and looked towards the lake confused.

"What's the matter, Belen?" pondered Francis.

"I swear that I just saw Jewelair flying around the lake! I know it was Jewelair!" claimed Belen.

"You're probably right! It must live around here…but there must be plenty of them around…" expressed Francis.

"No, it was the same one we met earlier…I remember the way its pearl shined, I promise you…"

"I believe you…" said Francis and grabbed Belen's hand, "But let's go or they're going to leave us behind…"

"Okay...you're right…" Belen followed Francis and they both caught up with the rest.

Kittime watched as Adam left and saw how his mood changed for the better; it was a bit jealous of Team Heroes, so it patiently waited for all of them to leave in order to make its move…

[Entomo Town/Entomo Lake/Greene Restaurant & Lounge/Thursday Morning]

Team Heroes and company arrived at the restaurant; the building/mansion has been built in a Tudor architectural style with some high-end modern tones that complimented its surroundings and overall ambiance, such as: the lighting and the signs, the patio overlooking the lake and the patio furniture, the garden and the decor, the big entrance with valet parking available, a stylish battlefield next to the parking lot, and it also had a Pokémon spa on the corner left of the battlefield connected to the main entrance of the building, where the front desk/check-in area was located; there, the main hostess and maître d' were organizing the area and big entrance. A little girl spotted Adam coming in with a group of friends and decided to welcome them herself…

"OZZY! You're back!" yelled the girl and rushed to give her big brother a hug.

Adam blushed all embarrassed, "Why must you give me a hug every time you see me, Daisy?"

"Shush! I love you, big bro, that's why!" stated the little girl, "Anyways, who are these people Ozzy?"

Team Heroes were surprised and wondered, "Ozzy? Is that his middle name..."

"They are Team Heroes…and the little guy there is Josh, Francis' brother…" explained Adam.

"Team Heroes?" Daisy looked confused, "they're a team of what?"

"Hello! I am Francis!"

"I am Johnny!"

"I am Belen!"

"I am Bee!"

"Hi…I'm Josh!"

"HELLO, Team of heroes and Francis' little brother Josh!" said Daisy, but then turned to Adam and began nagging him, "SO OZZY, have you caught a Pokémon yet? UH? UH? Have you?!"

"I told you already, Daisy…I don't want to catch a Pokémon! I don't want to battle them or with them, and I certainly wouldn't want to trap them in a pokeball!"

"HUH?" Team Heroes got confused, "What does he mean…"

"BUT that's okay, Ozzie! All Pokémon like to battle and they like to be in their pokeballs too!" stated Daisy, "That's what my parents and grandparents say! And I say it too cuz I have Silky now!"

"But what do you all know! Besides, I really believe it's just plain cruel using Pokémon to battle each other for our sakes! They have feelings, you know…" expressed Adam with conviction.

Team Heroes got more confused with Adam; they disagreed with some of his statements, since they have bonded with their Pokémon thru battling and traveling together…

"Adam, I don't think Pokémon think or feel that way…" chipped in Francis but was interrupted by Daisy.

"YOU'RE WRONG, OZZY! Silkie and I are best friends! My Pokémon likes to battle and it likes to spend time in its pokeball when we're done playing!" whined Daisy.

"But that's how you feel, sis…I have a different perspective…" declared Adam.

"COMMON! I want you to get a Pokémon so you and I can battle together just like our mom and dad do and Opa and Oma do too! Pretty, pretty please?!" demanded Daisy of his big brother.

"I already told you, I won't! Pokémon and I can always be friends, but they belong in the wild…so just stop bugging me with this…" concluded Adam, but then an old couple showed up behind Daisy.

"You're not wrong, Ozzy, but you're also not right!" said an elderly woman, "Pokémon are unique!"

"How can you say you understand Pokémon when you never had one, Ozzy?" stated an old man.

"Oma! Opa! Good morning!" Adam bowed and greeted his grandparents.

"Good morning!" said Team Heroes.

"Good morning!" replied Adam's grandparents and examined Team Heroes.

"These guys are my new friends, Opa and Oma!" Adam introduced them, "This is Francis, Belen, Johnny, Bee, and Josh!"

"Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you, Opa and Oma!" Team Heroes bowed.

"EH?! Those are not their names guys, but what the family calls them…" explained Adam ashamed.

"Oops! Our apologies!" Team Heroes bowed again.

"My grandparents' names are Forrest and Marina!" declared Adam.

"WHAT? You made friends, Ozzy?" asked Forrest; he and his wife were a bit shocked.

"That's marvelous, sweetie! I mean, you always repel people with your eccentricity, mystery, and secrecy, but there's always a first!" shared Marina delighted to have Adam's friends over.

Team Heroes began to understand why Adam said he had issues at home; they looked stunned.

"What are you all doing today? Playing video games? Cards? Sports?" asked Forrest and Marina.

"Actually, they have never ate here before and all of us are hungry, so I brought them with me to get brunch together here at the restaurant…is that alright?" told Adam.

"Of course, it's alright, Ozzy!" said Marina, "As long as they comply!"

"You know the rules, Ozzy, a Pokémon battle for a meal and service at our restaurant!" declared Forrest.

"I know, I know! These guys are Pokémon trainers, though!" said Adam.

"Are they?" Forrest and Marina stared, "Then how about this, if they all defeat our main hostess, the maître d', and the both of us in a Multi battle, they can get brunch here at our amazing restaurant! Are you all up to the challenge?"

Team Heroes looked at each other and agreed, "Yes! We will battle all of you!"

"Excellent! But we are tough even thought we might not look like it! We are a couple of old seniors but we know how to battle!" expressed Forrest proudly.

"But I wanna battle too! I WANNA BATTLE, Opa and Oma!" complained Daisy.

"Easy, Daisy! You will get your chance, doll, but now we need you to behave, watch the battles, and learn from them!" explained Marina delicately.

"Let's proceed to the battlefield, shall we! It's this way!" Forrest led everyone to their establishment's Pokémon battlefield thru the main entrance.

Team Heroes and company walked in and immediately got dazzled with the restaurant décor, the rustic front desk, the spacious and cozy waiting area, and the main entrance's walls that had huge arched windows, which waiting guests can see thru and watch the Pokémon battles happening outside at the battlefield during any moment; the hostess and maître d' greeted everyone and they were asked by the owners to follow them to the battlefield. Francis asked Josh to stay in the waiting area and attend virtual school since it was about to be nine o'clock; Josh got disillusioned and a bit mad, but understood; he had promised his parents to not miss school ever again. He wished his team good luck and watched them leave to the battlefield outside…

"Listen up everyone!" shouted Forrest, "Since it's your first-time dining with us, we should explain to you how we like to run our business…"

Everyone paid attention, "Yes, sir!"

"If you or anyone want to dine at our amazing restaurant, you must bring a Pokémon with you always!" explained Forrest.

"Correct! If you would like to get a table and excellent service, you must defeat our front desk staff in a Pokémon Multi Battle!" shared Marina.

"Once you do that, we will treat your Pokémon and then invite the both of you to have a meal at our establishment! You both will share a meal together as a family made by us and our chefs!" continued Forrest.

"If you happen to lose the battle, then you can try again on the next shift or next day; that means, if you battle during the lunch shift but lose, you can come back later and battle during the dinner shift and vice versa!" disclosed Marina.

"Opa and Oma…" interrupted Adam, "I kinda explained all of this to them already…"

"Alrighty then! Let's get down to business!" said Forrest, "Which two of you will battle our hostess Rika and maître d' Augusto?"

Team Heroes discussed and settled, "You girls got this one? Johnny and I will battle next, deal?" Belen and Bee agreed but seemed shy since it was their first Multi Battle together.

"Bee and I will battle them, sir!" said Belen and both of them entered the battlefield.

"Excellent! Alright you two, time to work! Show these young ladies how we run things around here!" stated Forrest and Marina.

"OF COURSE, sir and ma'am!" replied hostess Rika and maître d' Augusto; they both walked into the battlefield and released their Pokémon at the same time, "GO, Silkypede!"

Two Pokémon appeared, "Sh-pede! Shhh-pede‼"

"Silkypede?!" Belen and Bee looked surprised and so did Francis and Jonny, who were watching from the battlefield's benches joined by Adam and his family.

"I've seen these Pokémon around the forest before, but I've never battled one!" shared Bee.

"I've seen them before too, but I don't know much about them…let's see…" commented Belen and then used her PokeDEX App…

[POKEDEX:

031) Silkypede – The Weaving Worm Pokémon [BUG]

"Silkypede are a bug-type Pokémon known for their weaving abilities and for being the main producers of a fabric known as the Silkypede's Silk. Wild Silkypede form big colonies and weave a wall-like fabric around their territories; most of these colonies settle nearby Razz berry trees or Bluk berry trees, which are their favorite food sources. Wild Silkypede's Silk is not treated and as smooth, thus unfit to be used commercially. Trained and domesticated Silkypede kept at a farm, are capable of creating smooth and polished silk, fit to be used commercially; Silkypede's Silk is important to the clothing and fashion industries. Silkypede don't mind threading the whole day as long as they can eat and weave simultaneously."

POSSIBLE ATTACKS: String Shot/Tackle/Bug Bite/Sticky Web]

"Chickleaf, we got this! Help me out, please!" Belen released Chickleaf. Chickleaf floated around Belen ready to go, "CHICK! CHICK! CHICKLEAF‼"

"Bebe will help us win this battle for sure!" Bee released Bebe, her Abeequeen, "ABEE! ABEE! ABEEQUEEN!" Bebe was pumped.

"My, oh my! A Chickleaf and an Abeequeen!" Marina was surprised and fascinated.

"This will be an interesting match! I wonder how our staff will handle this!" shared Forrest.

"If I was battling, my Silky will win for sure!" expressed Daisy, "My Silkypede is the strongest, boys!"

Francis and Johnny smiled, "Yeah…hehehe…"

Forrest served as the referee of the battle, "OK! 3…2…1…BATTLE BEGIN!"

"Silkypede, use your String Shot on Chickleaf!" directed hostess Rika; her Silkypede used String Shot, covered Chickleaf's wings with it, prevented it from floating any longer, and made it fell down.

"Chickleaf, are you okay?" asked Belen; it was their turn but Chickleaf was busy untangling itself.

"Silkypede, pal, use Poison Sting on Abeequeen!" commanded maître d' Augusto; his Silkypede used Poison Sting on Abeequeen and it was somewhat effective; it landed a critical hit!

"Bebe! Watch out, please!" Bebe got injured by Poison Sting; "ABEE…BZZZ…"

"Those Silkypede are strong and quick!" noted Francis.

"Yeah, they are! I hope my sis and Bee can come around!" agreed Johnny.

"You shouldn't judge a Pokémon's strength based on size, appearance, or type! That's what my mom says anyways!" blurted out Daisy.

"All I know is that both Rika and Augusto take pride on their Pokémon and their training…" commented Adam; he was watching the battle carefully.

"A well-trained Pokémon and a focused Pokémon trainer can overcome any obstacles!" preached Marina, "If they work as a team and know each other well, both of them will go places!"

"Are you two able to continue? Or should I stop the match?" asked Forrest.

"Bebe, shake it off and use your Gust attack! I know you can!" Bebe used Gust, but…

"Silkypede, use Defense Curl!" said Rika, "And let the gust pass you by!"

"Use Double Team, Silkypede!" shouted Augusto, "And don't get hit by the gust!" Both Silkypede were able to withstand the Gust attack.

"These two know what they're doing, but I believe in us! Chickleaf, use Peck on Rika's Silkypede!" Chickleaf used Peck; it was super effective!

"SILK-SILK-PEDE‼" cried Silkypede; "Oh-no, Silkypede!" grieved Rika.

"It's our turn since Augusto already went! Bebe, use Gust once more!" Bebe used Gust and it was able to hit both Silkypede; it was super effective!

"SILK-SILK-PEDE‼" cried both Silkypede, but Rika's Silkypede fainted.

"Well, that's that!" declared Forrest, "Silkypede is unable to battle!"

"Return, Silkypede! You did your best!" Rika returned her Pokémon to its pokeball.

"It's you and I then! Silkypede, use Sticky Web!" instructed Augusto and his Silkypede used Sticky Web; it was able to slow down both Chickleaf and Abeequeen for a moment, but Abeequeen was able to free itself.

"Bebe, we can do this! Use your best Tackle attack!" Bebe used Tackle.

"SILK-PEDE‼" Silkypede got hurt badly and fainted; "Silkypede, no-no-no! We were so close!" groaned Augusto.

"Silkypede is unable to battle! This Multi Match goes to Belen and Bee!" declared Forrest with a smile on his face; he was impressed by Belen and Bee.

"YEY! WE DID IT!" Belen and Bee were happy and proud of themselves, "You two were wonderful out there! Thanks for doing your best!" They hugged their Pokémon.

Francis and Johnny approached Belen and Bee, "You girls were dope! Both Chickleaf and Bebe were great too!"

"Thanks, guys…" Belen and Bee blushed; they healed their Pokémon.

"Belen, Bee, Chickleaf, and Bebe are welcomed to get brunch at our restaurant!" disclosed Marina.

"But you boys will have to gain your place at the table, according to our traditions!" stated Forrest, "Since Rika and Augusto need to take a break, you boys will battle my wife and I!"

"Yes, sir!" agreed Francis and Johnny.

"But Opa and Oma, you only battle our guests if they want their meal for free! And I know you guys are stronger than Rika and Augusto!" expressed Adam.

"I tell you what, if you two actually defeat my wife and I, all of you will eat for free and each of you will get a slice of our famous homemade Bluk berry pie with vanilla ice cream on the house as well!" declared Forrest, "BUT, if you happen to lose to us, well…Umm…since you're Adam's friends, we will let you eat at our restaurant, BUT you will have to pay for your meals! Deal or no deal?" concluded Forrest.

Team Heroes conversed with each other and made a decision, "DEAL! Either way, we are super eager and very hungry to try your dishes!"

Forrest and Marina smiled, "Well then, let's go battle!" They entered the battlefield.

"Guys, don't underestimate my grandparents! They have been Pokémon trainers for decades!" warned Adam to both Francis and Johnny.

"We won't! We're actually thrilled to battle your grandparents, Adam!" claimed Francis.

"You are?!" Adam was astonished, "You're brave…"

"We're also looking forward to eat at your place…for FREE, though!" disclosed Johnny; he and Francis entered the battlefield.

Adam went back to the benches and sat next to Belen, Bee and their Pokémon; Rika and Daisy were also at the benches witnessing the battles, while Augusto served as the referee.

Forrest took out a pokeball from his dress pants' right pocket and released his Pokémon, "Come on out, old friend! Time to work!"

A Pokémon appeared, "PHYX! PHYX! HYX-HYX‼"

"Come out, sweetie pie! Time to shine!" Marina released her Pokémon.

A Pokémon appeared, "BYX! BYX! YX-YX‼"

"WOAH! Who are those two Pokémon?!" Johnny looked clueless.

"Couldn't tell you, bro, but let's check them out!" Francis activated his PokeDEX App and scanned Forrest's Pokémon.

[POKEDEX:

035) Morphyx – The Armor Moth Pokémon [BUG – STEEL]

"Morphyx are nocturnal and enjoy living inside caves, mines, abandoned buildings, and even basements. They are one of Silkypede's final forms, the other one being Bombyx. Unlike their counterpart, Morphyx can survive in the wild, be independent, consume other berries than just Razz or Bluk berries, and are able to create steel-like silky strings, which they use to build their nests. Anatomically, Morphyx are svelte, a tad smaller than Bombyx, sable colored, and have well-rounded steel-like wings. Morphyx are attracted to moonlight very much that they chase after it all night until they get lost and find themselves in new places."

POSSIBLE ATTACKS: Silver Wind/Steel Wing/Bug Buzz/Iron Defense]

"It's a fully evolved Pokémon, bro, but we may be able to pull it off!" Francis was confident.

"I hope so, but what about Marina's Pokémon?" Johnny used his PokeDEX App and searched.

[POKEDEX:

033) Bombyx – The Velvet Moth Pokémon [BUG – FAIRY]

"Bombyx are diurnal and thrive in luminous, sunny, and temperate environments. They are one of Silkypede's final forms, the other one being Morphyx. Due to being domestically bred for centuries for their fabric-like silky strings, Bombyx cannot survive in the wilderness and on their own, however, their Fairy powers allow them to survive long enough till they find a new home and/or trainer. Bombyx strictly feed on Razz and Bluk berries but may try foods that have been made using these two berries as main ingredients, like a Bluk berry pie or a Razz berry cookie. Bombyx are bigger than Morphyx, silver white colored, and possess delicate soft wings. They enjoy sunbathing and brushing their big, white, smooth, and beautiful wings."

POSSIBLE ATTACKS: Silver Wind/Dazzling Gleam/Quiver Dance/Struggle Bug]

Francis thought for a minute and decided his other Pokémon was best suited for this battle, "If I do this right, I think we can win..."

"Let's get battling, youngsters! Time is ticking!" shouted Forrest.

"We need to get ready to open the restaurant, kids, so let's hurry!" explained Marina.

"Rodemart, you're the Poké-man for this! Let's go!" Johnny released his partner; it was fired up, "RODE! MART! RODE-RODE!"

"Hieroston, buddy, I need your help!" Francis released his Pokémon; it was thrilled to battle, "STON-STON-STON‼"

"Eh?! A Rodemart and Hieroston! This is going to be an interesting battle!" Forrest was stocked.

"Indeed! We should put in the extra teamwork, sweetheart!" replied Marina.

"My brother may have the upper hand during this battle, I think…but I don't know about Francis' choice, though…" expressed Belen.

"If all of them battle as a team, they will defeat Adam's grandparents for sure, Belen!" cheered Bee.

"You know..." Adam looked at Belen, Bee, and their Pokémon, "All of you really enjoyed battling as a team, I could tell…even your Pokémon were having fun...and now, their Pokémon also look thrilled to battle as well..." Adam became deep in thought.

"Let's START! 3…2…1…BATTLE BEGIN!" instructed Augusto.

"Okay team! Let's do our best! Hieroston, use Rock Throw!" Hieroston used Rock Throw on Morphyx.

"Morphyx! Dodge that and hit it with a Steel Wing attack!" instructed Forrest; Morphyx was able to avoid Rock Throw and hit Hieroston with a Steel Wing; it was super effective!

"STON-STON-STON!" cried Hieroston and dropped; "Oh-no! Buddy!" Francis got worried.

"Darn it! Rodemart, use Ember against Morphyx!" directed Johnny and Rodemart used Ember, but…

"Bombyx, use Air Cutter and stop Ember from reaching you and Morphyx!" said Marina and Bombyx used Air Cutter; it repelled Ember from touching them and Air Cutter inflicted minor damages to both Rodemart and Hieroston.

"RODE!", "STON-STON-STON!" cried both Rodemart and Hieroston.

"They're strong, bro…" determined Johnny and became nervous, "What do we do?"

"We need to concentrate and work together, bro! We can't give up now!" motivated Francis.

"You're right, bro…but how can we do it?" thought Johnny and glanced at the girls and Adam.

Adam knew how his grandparents battle and how their Pokémon have been defeated before; he has never interrupted a battle nor cheered for any challengers, but Adam wanted his friends to win; he knew how his newly acquired friends can make it work, so..."Johnny! Your Rodemart is capable of taking down my Opa's Pokémon if you and Francis find a way together!"

"UH?! What's this?!" Forrest and Marina were appalled; they've never seen Adam psyched about a Pokémon battle or helping the challenging team with insider's tips.

"Likewise, Hieroston is able to take down both Morphyx and Bombyx! Work together and find a way‼" shouted Adam passionately; his sister, Rika, and Augusto were speechless.

"NOTED!" yelled Francis and Johnny, "Let's take his advice, guys! Are you two alright?"

"STON-STON-STON‼" Hieroston got up and waited for instructions; "RODE-RODE-MART!" Rodemart was ready to go at it again.

"DOPE! Let's do this, bro!" Francis was focused, "Hieroston, use Rock Blast and try your best to hit either Morphyx and Bombyx!" Hieroston used Rock Blast; it blasted five rocks.

"Morphyx, watch out for those rocks! Use Steel Wing once again!" Morphyx used Steel Wing.

"Not so fast! Rodemart, hit Morphyx with your best Ember attack as soon as it gets close to Hieroston!" Rodemart waited; once it saw Morphyx approaching Hieroston, it blasted an Ember attack which made a direct hit and dealt some damage.

"PHYX! PHYX! YX-YX‼" Morphyx got hit; it was super effective! "Umm, they are starting to turn things around, I see…" Forrest was impressed.

"Bombyx, get in there and use Air Cutter one more time!" Bombyx used Air Cutter but didn't notice a rock was coming its way, so it quickly avoided it but missed Rodemart and Hieroston.

"This is our chance! Hieroston, use your strongest Headbutt attack and stop Bombyx!" Hieroston used Headbutt; it dealt some damage.

"BYX! BYX! YX-YX!" cried Bombyx; "They're getting the hang of this, sweetheart! Guess we will see how far they are able to go!" Marina was fascinated by the battle.

"Morphyx, use Steel Wing one more time and make sure to knockout Hieroston once and for all!" Morphyx flew quickly and got around Hieroston, ready to hit it with its Steel Wing attack, but…

"Rodemart, cover Hieroston! Use Ember again and protect yourselves!" Rodemart got between Hieroston and Morphyx, and used Ember against Morphyx; it was super effective, and it was a critical hit!"

"PHYX! PHYX! PHYX…" Morphyx burst in flames and ultimately fainted.

"YEY! They all did it!" cheered Adam, Belen, Bee, and their Pokémon.

"Morphyx is unable to battle! Retrieve your Pokémon, sir!" instructed Augusto.

"All of you put up a good fight! Well done!" Forrest returned Morphyx to its pokeball, "Guess you two will have to finish this, honey!"

"We got this!" Marina was more determined than ever, "Bombyx! Use Dazzling Gleam and confuse our foes!" Bombyx used Dazzling Gleam and a powerful flash blinded and injured Rodemart, but not Hieroston due to its Keen Eye ability.

"UH? Hieroston, you're alright! DOPE!" Francis was surprised about Hieroston's hidden ability, but took the opportunity to get back at Bombyx, "Use your best Rock Blast, buddy, and win this for us, please!"

Hieroston used Rock Blast and it was able to hit Bombyx four times, dealing major damage and two critical hits!

"BYX! BYX! BYX…" Bombyx dropped to the ground and fainted; "Oh-no, my Bombyx!" grieved Marina.

"Bombyx is unable to battle! This match goes to Francis and Johnny! Congratulations!" declared Augusto and ended the battle.

"BRO! We all did it! We actually did it‼" Francis was happy and surprised about winning their first Multi Battle; he fist-bumped with Johnny, but then his Hieroston was also overwhelmed with joy that began to rub its rough, rocky body against Francis as a way to say good job, "AAAHH! That's a bit rough, Hieroston…BUT you did a great job so give me your loving!" Francis laughed.

"GROOVY! I am shocked, bro! Great job!" Johnny was proud of his Rodemart and then proceeded to heal it; "RODE! MART! RODE! MART!" Rodemart was pleased.

"We are beyond impressed by all of you! You surely aren't rookie trainers!" said Forrest.

"I agree! You showed great teamwork once you figured out how to make it work!" expressed Marina, "Well, with some tips from my grandson..."

"Anyways, you bunch are welcome into our establishment and you all deserve a delicious brunch, which my wife and I will cook for you!"

"Indeed! It will help all of you recover your stamina and fill you up to your hearts' content!" stated Marina.

Adam, Belen, Chickleaf, Bee, Bebe, Daisy, and Rika walked to the battlefield and congratulated Francis, Johnny, and their Pokémon. Team Heroes were so upbeat, "We're getting brunch! We're getting brunch!"

Rika and Augusto had gone ahead of them in order to prepare a table for Adam's friends and his family. Team Heroes, Adam, and Daisy were about to get in, but…

"OZZY!" called out Forrest and Marina.

"HUH?!" Adam looked back, "What is it Opa and Oma? Aren't we going in for brunch? Or are we eating out in the patio?"

"Ozzy! You know the rules, kiddo!" explained Forrest, "Since you don't have a Pokémon, you can't eat at the restaurant! It's the family tradition and our standards!"

"WHAT?!" Adam was shocked and so it was Team Heroes; "He can't?!"

"You know that you can always eat upstairs but not down here, sweetie. If any of our guests or regulars happen to see you down here eating without being accompanied by a Pokémon, they might start questioning our traditions, our policies, and our standards, baby, and we can't have that! I am truly sorry, Ozzy!" explained Marina delicately.

"Oh-no…" Team Heroes looked disappointed; Daisy got sad for his brother, "Ozzy…"

Adam got heartbroken; he finally has made friends and was really excited to share a meal together with all of them and their Pokémon, but understood the reasons why he couldn't do it so, "I understand Opa, Oma…rules are rules and must be followed..." His eyes were tearing a little, "Well, I really hope you enjoy it guys! You all deserve it!" paused Adam, "Unlike me; I will be eating upstairs alone like I do most times…"

"Ozzy…" Forrest and Marina just figured why Adam has been feeling neglected and under the weather.

Adam was about to rush upstairs sobbing, but all of the sudden, Kittime appeared in front of him.

"KITTI-KITTI-KITTIME‼" Kittime had used Teleport and showed up before Adam; it had gotten impatient waiting for Adam and its leftovers.

"Kittime, pal! What are you doing here?!" Adam was stunned that Kittime showed up; it has never done that before.

"It's Kittime!" Team Heroes were shocked, "I guess it teleported here to be with Adam!"

"Who's this little fellow, Ozzy?" asked Forrest and Marina intrigued.

"UH? Is that your Pokémon, Ozzy? Is it? Is it?" Daisy got super excited, "If so, we can all eat together then! YEY!" She was jumping with joy.

Kittime read the room and approached Adam; it began to rub its body and tail against his legs while purring with affection; finally, it jumped to Adam's arms and licked his face, "KITTI! KITTIME!"

"Perfect timing!" thought Team Heroes and they all smiled; they approached Adam and Kittime.

"It surely acts like your Pokémon, Ozzy! Why were you hiding it from us?" wondered Forrest and Marina; they were trying to study the situation.

Francis whispered into Adam's ear, "You know, although Kittime is not actually yours, it really looks like it belongs to you! This is your chance to experience what it feels to have a Pokémon of your own..."

Belen chipped in and whispered, "It really seems like it wants to be with you, Adam…listen to it purring…"

Bee and Johnny agreed; Johnny handed a pokeball to Adam stealthily and told him to use it on Kittime.

Kittime understood and stared at Adam; Adam stared at Kittime and smiled, "Do you wanna be my Pokémon, Kittime?" Kittime nodded and pushed the pokeball's button with its nose. After three flashes, Kittime just became Adam's first Pokémon, "Did I just…did I just…caught a Pokémon?!"

"Yeah!" Team Heroes were happy for him.

"Unbelievable! This feels surreal and new…but Kittime wants to be with me…" Adam was ecstatic.

Forrest, Marina, and Daisy walked up to Adam very confused and asked, "How come you recalled your Pokémon? You don't want to introduce your Pokémon to us, Ozzy?"

Adam blushed and played along, "Maybe…I just didn't want to tell you about it because you probably would have wanted us to battle all the time…"

"Well, perhaps, but if you guys are not up for it, we understand kiddo…" stated Forrest and Marina.

"I'm sorry, Ozzy…I promise I won't force you to battle me or anyone! Only when you want to! But show me your Pokémon, pretty please?" asked Daisy.

"Alright-alright!" Adam released Kittime and said, "Honestly, this is the best day of my life!"

"KITTI! KITTI! KITTIME!" Kittime was bouncing around Adam.

"HI!" Daisy approached Kittime and pet it; Kittime was jolly.

"Hello, Kittime! I am Forrest and this is my wife, Marina! Nice to meet you!"

Kittime bounced towards Forrest and Marina, sniffed them, and then rubbed its body on their legs.

"What an adorable and hyper Pokémon! You're welcome here, sweetie!" declared Marina.

"Well, since your Pokémon showed up in time, I guess you can join your friends after all, Ozzy! Common! Let's all have a great meal together!" said Forrest.

"YEAH! LET'S GO!" Adam picked up Kittime and rushed inside excited to finally eat downstairs.

...

Hostess Rika and Maître D' Augusto showed everyone to their table, which it was ready and set; they have gotten Josh from the waiting area, since he was on recess, and had been waiting for all of them, "Guys, hi! I'm glad you won the Pokémon multi battles!"

"Josh! We did it!" Francis sat next to his brother and Hieroston "sat" next to him; everyone else sat down too with their Pokémon by their side.

"Welcome to Greene Restaurant and Lounge, where we take pride on the family's traditions and gourmet food! Bon Appetit!" proclaimed Rika and Augusto while placing some brunch dishes at the center of the table; Forrest and Marina had cooked a quick but delicious brunch. After helping out, Rika and Augusto were about to leave to their restaurant duties but...

"Why don't you two and your Silkypede, join us?" asked Forrest and Marina; they were done cooking and placed the last dishes at the center of the table; it was family-style brunch.

"Can we?!" Rika and Augusto were surprised.

"Of course! It's 10:30 and we all have some time to eat with them before we have to open shop! Let's sit down!" declared Forrest; he released his Morphyx and both of them sat down. Marina released her Bombyx and they also sat down. Rika and Augusto followed suit and released their Pokémon.

Team Heroes and Adam were delighted, "Finally, some food! Let's dig in!"

They all ate, laughed, shared, and enjoyed a delicious and nutritious meal. They also toasted for Adam's Pokémon and his new friends. Lastly, they got to savor the restaurant's famous homemade Bluk berry pie accompanied with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, which became the cherry on the top. Overall, Team Heroes' first battling and dining experience at Greene Restaurant and Lounge were out of this world; they gave it five stars for the food and service, but also for the friends and family.
