Chapter 3: Im not in Love
It was time to get off the train. Hermione had had enough time to think things over and clear her mind. She got changed and walked to the school. Some people said she looked like a zombie. Others say she looked half dead. But she was just alone.
She saw the red and black hair again and was embraced by the two boys she might trust. She couldn't tell them about her life though. She didn't want anyone to know where those bruises came from or how come she was afraid of men or whom she lost her virginity to. She didn't want these questions, yet they kept on coming. She wanted someone who she could trust with all her secrets. Someone who knew what it felt like to be hurt by people you loved. Someone who would be there for her. Someone she could love.
The great hall was packed with children, ranging from 11 years old to 16 years old. Hermione felt at home. She sat down next to her 2 best friends and listened to Dumbledore go on and on about the forbidden forest being forbidden, about who the prefects and head boy and girl were, about rules of running around and so on. Then the food appeared. Ron stuffed his mouth as usual, while Harry talked to Ginny, his new girlfriend. Ron then started talking to Lavender about what she did in the holidays. Everyone knew about their secret relationship. All of this pairing made Hermione feel very left out. The only boy left in the entire great hall that did not have a lover was the famous Draco Malfoy. He was staring at Hermione, wondering what had happened to her in the summer and why she was terrified of men. He had to find out.
She slowly walked up to the Gryffindor Common room, looking down at the floor as she walked. Something was in front of her, something tall that cast a shadow over her. It was Draco Malfoy. "What do you want Malfoy?" she asked. He stroked her cheek with a finger and she flinched away, revealing a tear stained face. "I want to know what happened" he whispered. She just shook her head and tried to run, but he was holding onto her arm, with a look of concern. After looking into his eyes she knew that he would take care of her and that he could hear her secrets. She just wasn't ready yet to tell him or anybody. She smiled a weak smile at him and said "Maybe another time. I need some sleep. But thanks". She then walked to her room and had dreams of a blonde haired boy who was concerned for her. There was something in his eyes. She had seen the same emotion in his eyes that she had in hers. Fear.
