Jim rushed to Toby who was grunting in pain and the left side of his stomach was bleeding much to Jim's horror. Jim put his hands behind his head not knowing what to do in the pain his best friend was in.
"Tobes stay with me okay? Stay with me." Jim said breathlessly.
Claire, Blinky and Argh caught up with them but were horrified when they saw Toby's wound.
"No, Toby!" Claire frightfully gasped.
"Wingman!" Argh shouted in vain.
"We need to get him out of here." Blinky urgently suggested.
Jim grinned his teeth furiously and looked above from where the goddess was who injured Toby. He then turned to his team.
"I'm not losing anyone else. When this thing comes down, make sure you get yourselves out."
"Wait, what about you?" Claire asked as Jim was walking. "Jim." She said with much worry in her eyes.
Jim slowly faced the girl who came from his high school crush to his true love and pulled her into a kiss. This surprised Claire somehow but it seemed appropriate.
"I love you Claire. Evan before I got to know you better." Jim assured her as he ran off to finish the fight.
His friends were frozen believing this is the last they will see off Jim. Blinky suddenly knew what has to happen. His eyes were focused on Claire and Argh.
"You two get Toby to safety. I know what must be done."
"Blinky?" Argh questioned what his longtime friend was doing.
"Good luck old friend." He smiled at his companion as he ran off.
Claire and Argh looked at each other with concern for their friends, but Toby was more important at this moment. Claire opened up a shadow portal, Argh placed Toby on his back and the three of them went through the portal for safety.
Jim walked slowly as he held his sword up, unknown to him someone was watching him from a ledge not too far down from where he was.
Bellroc launched herself at Jim when he saw and protected himself when his sword clashed with remains of Bellroc's staff.
"You're gonna pay for what you did!" Jim growled.
"He'll be as good as dead anyway." Bellroc coldly smirked.
"No!" Jim screamed as he pushed Bellroc back with a kick and the two continued dueling with one another.
Claire and Argh took Toby outside of town to the highest point where the view of Arcadia can be seen. Toby was grinning his teeth to fight against the pain and he was slowly bleeding. Claire was using her magic to heal him but there was no prevailing.
"Please hold on Toby. You're gonna be okay." Claire trying to spark some hope.
"Doesn't look like it. Guess it's the end of the road for me." Toby slightly smiled.
"Stop it Toby! You'll pull through we'll find a way to.."
"Claire. We both know I'm not getting out of this one."
Claire and Argh were both speechless, knowing deep down that was true.
Jim was fighting like never before in his entire life. His and Bellroc's blades were almost lighting a spark when they collided.
Blinky saw the heartstone losing life force. When he saw Jim in the armor from his new amulet, he realized the true magic of the Trollhunter amulet. He climbed to the level where the heartstone was draining it's glory. Jim was kicked in the chest by the goddess when it felt like he was outmatched by her.
"Master Jim!" Jim looked up seeing that Blinky was at the heartstone. "Throw the amulet!"
Jim removed the amulet from his chest and threw it up to Blinky. Bellroc seemed confused at what trickery was this. Blinky arrived at the source, he understood what would happen when magic was absorbed whoever harnessed it. But he had no hesitation either.
Blinky placed the amulet in the heartstone with two of his hands and started harnessing the amulet's magic into the heartstone itself, he was giving every last bit of his energy as he gritted his teeth. He knew the end of this outcome but this world was worth saving.
Bellroc suddenly felt powerless when she couldn't summon her fire power to kill Jim. She was horrified upon learning what was happening.
"My.. My magic." She spoke softly in fear. "I'm powerless."
Jim found the strength to pull himself back up with his sword.
"Don't worry. You get used to it."
He speed himself at the goddess and slashed Excalibur across her stomach.
Bellroc's lava spilled out of her as she screamed, she fell of the platform and her body exploded in tiny flames.
The Arcane Order was no more.
Claire was keeping pressure on Toby's wound but it wouldn't help him completely. Toby hold tightly to her hand as he glanced at his friends.
"Guys, I just wanna let you know that, I don't regret anything that's happened to us in the past few years. Defending a troll colony which you didn't know existed. Totally worth it." Toby smiled.
"Toby please." Claire said as her eyes got watery.
"Wingman." Argh said sadly.
"It's all right buddy. Tell Jim I'm the person I am today because of him."
"Toby." Argh started tearing up.
Toby continued smiling widely. "It's okay. I didn't think. I became."
Claire cried into Toby's chest.
Toby then stopped moving. Claire and Argh hugged as they cried over their fallen friend.
Then suddenly Toby began to cough. Claire and Argh were startled. They saw his blood was shrinking down. They realized Claire's tears had healed him. Claire was frozen knowing she only did that with Jim once.
Toby didn't know what was happening right now.
"Am I dead?"
Claire chuckled as she and Argh hugged him with much joy.
"Not by a long shot."
Toby happily hugged his friends knowing he'll live to see another day.
Blinky was taking a few deep breaths as Jim climbed to where his mentor was standing.
"Blinky you did it. You powered the amulet's magic into the Heartstone. I gotta say, you were always the smart one of the team."
Blinky did not respond right away or turned around.
"Blink, you okay?" Jim asked slowly.
Blinky finally let out a sigh and turned to Jim's direction.
All four of his arm were covered in stone, he was slowly becoming stone. His six eyes gazed upon Jim.
"Oh no Blinky!" He rushed towards the troll and felt his hard stone arms. "What's happening. I don't..." He questioned anxiously.
"The magic absorb couldn't be handled with the troll harnessing it." Blinky confirmed.
Jim covered his face with fear for his master. "No, Blinky I've should've been the one to do this."
"Jim." Blinky putting on a smile. "Just because you're the Trollhunter, doesn't mean you have to do everything."
"It'll be okay Blink, we'll find some way to fix you up somehow or..."
"Jim." Blinky put on a considerate face. "Since I already absorbed it's magic, I need to stay to make sure this Titan never harms anyone again."
Jim shook his head. "No, you can't. Please don't don't this."
Tears started to roll down Jim's face when Blinky wiped them away with a comforting smile.
"Jim. For most of my life I've been buried in my books, hiding from conflicts that I did as best to stood out off. But then I met you. A brave and kind young man who became a champion not because it was your destiny. Because you knew it was right and you never ran away from things even at their darkest hour. It was you who taught me that Jim. Now I have to do what must be done."
Jim let the tears roll down his cheeks, not wanting his victory to turn out like this. But he accepted the outcome. He rushed and hugged the only real father who actually cared for him, stood by his side and most of all loved him. Blinky proudly hugged the boy back letting out a tear.
"Tell the others that I thank them for everything. Especially to Argh." Blinky softly asked.
"You were the best dad I could ever ask for Blink." Jim said tearfully.
"I've could've been more proud to have you as a son". Blinky embraced Jim even further.
The two let go of one another. Jim sniffed as he let his true father accomplished his life. He ran to the cavern wall, made a jump and slide down with his sword.
Blinky continued giving the heartstone life from the amulet. His transformation into stone was almost completed but Blinky was at peace with it. He shut his eyes gently and powered the heartstone.
"For the good of all." He faithfully proclaimed.
The Heartstone unleashed a massive amount of energy the spread all across Arcadia. The Orc army were dissolved of that energy and disappeared right before the army's eyes. The Army cheered at their victory as Steve, Eli and Nari came to their friends to watch this remarkable event. The Heartstone started to turn green when it's source of magic was continuing to spread all of Arcadia. It was a beautiful thing to witness in a lifetime.
It was then when Douxie noticed something off about Nari. She was dissolving as well.
"Nari what's happening to you?" He asked in confusion.
"I belong to the stone. The stone full of life and will thrive to all magical beings. Which is why it is my duty to merge with the core."
Douxie shook his head at this statement. "What, I don't understand."
Nari gave an assuring smile to the young wizard. "It's alright Douxie, I'll be very happy there with my true kind." She hugged him. "Thank you for everything."
Douxie hugged her back as she dissolved into green energy and was harnessed into the new Heartstone.
The others looked at the Heartstone with sadness but pride knowing Nari will be very much alive in there. Especially to Douxie when he gave a sad smile towards the Heartstone showing much proudness to Nari.
Claire cast another one of her shadow portals to bring herself, Toby and Argh to the destruction of the Titan where nothing remains but huge boulders from the lava giant. They were stunned at the energetic sky.
Toby had his mouth drop downed and didn't even bother to do one of his "what" reactions.
"This is the most weird yet inspiring thing I've ever seen and I've seen a lot stuff at this point." Toby pointed out.
Claire was frequently looking around for her boyfriend when she saw a figure limply walking up to them. Just as she hoped it was Jim covered in dirt and scratches.
"Jim!"
Toby and Claire both hugged him when he embraced them back. Argh was turning his body around looking for someone else. Claire and Toby let go of Jim when they realize there was one missing.
"Blinky?" Argh asked with worry in his tone.
Jim looked down with ultimate sadness. "He saved us all."
Argh's face came to realization. He fell to the ground and broke down in tears by the loss of his dearest friend. Toby consoled his wingman with tears in his eyes. Claire brought Jim into a hug where they mourned together.
"He really did it didn't he?" Toby wiping away a tear.
"The wisest troll we've ever knew." Claire sadly said.
"The best." Argh sniffed.
"Guys look." Jim pointed something in the air.
The four of them spotted the heartstone in the middle of the town which felt like every magic energy including the magic from the amulet. It was the most amazing sight they've ever saw. They've realized what needed to be done to make that happen and those sacrifices along the way weren't in vain.
This was the true glory of being a hero in a magical place called Arcadia.
This was pretty emotional. One last chapter coming up and then finally there's something I wanna say to the fans of TOA at the end.
