The Prodigal Son
By, Tarawen
Harry's leaving today (don't know where he's going).
Holds his head in disgrace (he can't escape the truth).
He knows the price that he's paid.
The broken man drops to his knees before his master, he lost – his plan did not work the way it should have. He was to have killed his Master – the Dark Lord – join him, and kill him.
He admits that it's too late to admit that he's afraid.
"Potter," the hissing voice of his master penetrates his mind "You understand your mission?"
The man can hear his own heart beat – he would be brave – would be fearless and refuse to ruin his last chance at redemption with this mission – but he is afraid, and he is in much to deep.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
He killed them – Hermione and Ron – at their own wedding to send a message to the Wizarding world – The dark lord is death – is fear – and you must obey.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
He can still recall a time when they were best friends – when he was the hero the-boy-who-lived, but now he is the traitor – the evil that haunts their dreams.
Oh Harry.
He remembers the day he got the letter – a letter about joining the Dark Lord – and how he had formed a plan – Ron and Hermione would never know until it was too late to stop him – they were much to absorbed in each other to notice.
Harry's leaving today (don't know where he's going).
He's got lines on his face (they tell the story of his pain).
He accepts it's his fate.
So he joined Voldemort – to kill him – to destroy the evil that plagued the Wizarding World.
He admits it took too long to admit that he was wrong.
But it went wrong – went so very wrong – he killed – he destroyed – and he liked it.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
Guilty – always guilty – but loving the pain – the suffering he causes.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
He remembers Ginny – oh yes – he remembers what he did to her too.
Oh Harry.
It had all started when he stopped dating her – to protect her – but he'd accepted the Dark Lord into his very soul not long after – and with evil always seems to come released lust.
Once he was a lover sleeping with another.
Now he's just known as a cheat.
He didn't even know her name – but he'd played with her – sweet talked her – to get what he wanted, and when Ginny walked in on them in that abandoned classroom…
And he wish he'd had a mirror; looked a little clearer.
Seen into the eyes of the weak.
He was evil – he was dark – he had killed everyone he'd once loved – killed countless innocents.
Tomorrow comes. Sorrow becomes his soul mate.
But he couldn't stop – will never stop – because it's the only thing he understands anymore – and the only thing he can do.
The damage is done. The prodigal son is too late.
He'd failed – completely and totally.
Old doors are closed but he's always open,
To relive time in his mind.
He destroyed everything…everyone…anything except his Master.
Oh Harry.
And the World is doomed because he is a slave to the Darkness.
A/N: Allright your average One-Shot Dark!Harry Song-Fic thing. But the song was begging for it. The song is called Billy (The parts of the song that say Harry should actually say Billy) and it's by James Blunt.
