Chapter 2
416 AD Hungary
Alexander Corvinus sat outside his home and waited anxiously his wife Helena with him. Their little son Lionel was already long asleep in his room and only the lord and lady of the house remained awake. Hours earlier Alexander's older sons Marcus and William had left to hunt together. At first Alexander was perfectly alright with the idea of his sons going hunting. After all it was perfectly natural of young men to see entertainment that way and to bring home some meat. The winter had been hard and all would welcome some fresh meat to eat. When Alexander gave permission both his sons had been overjoyed as they were bored of staying indoors. Alexander watched as his boys rode away without a worry in his head until he heard Marcus shout to him "Father don't wait up for us, we're going to the Old Forest" and then gallop of. It was at that moment that Alexander felt true dread. The forest was ancient and many said that it was enchanted. Therefore nobody went there and both William and Marcus knew that. However they were stubborn and always wanted to go their and explore. Alexander had always forbidden it until this very day. Now after many hours the sun had went down and still no sign of William or Marcus. Alexander and his wife had started to fear that they would never see their sons again.
