In the library of Hollow Bastion, plans were being made. "Well, since we can't go back to Traverse Town, why don't we live here?" asked a curious Aerith. "We would have to eliminate all of the heartless first," said Leon. "Don't worry Squall, we can all take care of the heartless with Cloud and Cid helping us," said a cheerful Yuffie. They were all heading to the hallway when they heard a voice that said, "Wait foor me!" When they looked behind them, they saw a kid running up to them wearing SOLDIER clothing (see FFVII). Now they would have had a lot more respect for this kid if he didn't trip, knock over the table, caused the books to fly and knock over three bookcases, making a lot of noise. They stood for what seemed like twelve seconds until Cid broke the silence by almost passing from too much laughter. "Shut up!" said the kid. "What kind of moron can't run without tripping of his own feet," said Cid after regaining his breath. "Hey I'm here to help you gramps!" replied the kid. "What did you call me you runt!" shouted Cid.
Ten minutes later, after they separated Cid and the kid, Leon asked, "What's your name?" "I'm Reil," said Reil. "Well I guess we could use all the help we could get," said Leon. "Just don't trip," said Cid in a sarcastic tone. "Are we all ready for the battle?" asked Leon. "Ready captain," they all said while saluting him.
Right when they opened the door a Soldier tried to attack Reil, and Shadow came up and clawed Yuffie. "Don't let your guard down and take down Ansem and Maleficent," shouted Leon. Aerith and Cloud tried to hit Maleficent but an air solider knocked out Aerith and kicked Cloud. Cid tried a direct assault on Ansem when another air soldier got in the way. "Come on Reil, Maleficent is wide open!" shouted Yuffie. As soon as she heard this, Maleficent knocked back Reil and charged at Leon. Cloud blocked the attack so Cid could attack and wound Maleficent for now. Cid shouted, "Take that you no good witc…" and was surprised by an air soldier. A Large body jumped on Yuffie, knocking her out, but Leon got rid of it while another Large body was attacking Reil. After beating the Large body, Reil looked around and said, "Leoon, we are the oonly oones still coonscioous." "I could use some help," said Leon. All the heartless were ganging up on him and Maleficent recovered from her attack from Cid. "I'm oon it," said Reil. He took out a keyblade and said, "Watch this!"
