A/N: Just a slightly angsty, Lorelai-centric one-shot, set while Luke is off on the school trip with April.

Lorelai lay sprawled across her bed. With Luke gone, it felt entirely too big. And despite the troubles they'd been having lately, she still missed him.
Terribly.
Her mind wandered to thoughts of all things Nardini.
From the little she'd seen and the lot she'd heard, April seemed like a decent kid. Sweet. Nice. Smart.
The descriptions sort of reminded her of her own daughter.
She thought about Anna.
And it was then that she realized how hypocritical she was being.
It wasn't Anna's fault.
Getting pregnant took two people. She'd known that since that conversation in the girl's bathroom in the second grade.
She knew Luke wasn't cheating on her. But she couldn't help thinking…
Lorelai shoved these thoughts aside.
No.
He wouldn't.
If she couldn't trust him with Anna, how could she ever have expected him to trust her with Christopher?
She laughed at her realization.
She'd been coming into this relationship with a daughter and her daughter's father in tow.
Had she really been naïve enough to think that she'd end up with a man with no baggage of his own?
She shook her head.
Luke really had been too good to be true.
God sure had a funny way of fixing that.
