Until I Met You

I once believed that there wasn't anything or anyone in this world worth dying for,

Until I met you.

You, who taught me that life was worth giving up if it meant that your loved ones were safe.

In the darkness of night, I thought my nightmares would consume me and leave nothing but an empty shell of who I once was,

Until I met you.

You, who said that overcoming nightmares meant that you must defeat the monsters within your very soul.

My heart was broken beyond compare, and was unable to hold anything but loneliness and regret,

Until I met you,

You, who not only picked up the pieces, but filled it with something I thought I would never be able to harbor again.

You, who I hold close to my heart.

You, who I cherish with my mind, body, and soul.

Until I met you,

I couldn't comprehend the meaning of true love.
