I sat watching as Braeden sat down and placed her feet on the coffee table in front of Peter and Derek.

"That table's Italian," Peter told her clenching his teeth.

"So are these boots. Are we going to talk interior designing fashion or are we going to talk numbers?" She asked making Derek smirk. She looked at me pointedly where I was sitting on top of the counter.

"She can do whatever she wants," Peter told her icily, Derek's smirk went away and he focused on the sunglasses in his hands. Braeden ignored him until Peter wrote a number on a piece of paper and slid it to her. I watched curiously as she crossed it out and wrote a number not even looking down and sliding it back to him.

Peter sighed "We're hiring you to find Kate, not assassinate the President." he told her frankly. He must not like the number.

"I was hired by the Calaveras to find Kate. You're hiring me to find her first. Going against the Calaveras is what's going to cost you,"

He looked like he was going to have an aneurysm. He wrote another number down and pushed it to her. She didn't bother looking as she shoved it back. Peter groaned standing up to pace as Derek grabbed the paper and shredded it without looking.

"We'll pay," Peter turned to look at Derek like he was crazy "Just find Kate, that's all we want," He told her. She smirked and grabbed her stuff, eyes lingering on him a little too long. So I cleared my throat and nodded to the door. Which Peter was more than happy to slam behind her.

"Are you insane?" He growled at him

"We don't have a choice. We spent a week looking for her and came up with nothing," Derek said hunched over his desk.

"If we don't find out, who told Kate about the vault, we don't get those bonds back!" Peter yelled at him. I slid slowly off the counter making my way to the door since this got very family-oriented fast "What do you think I'm gonna do then, huh? Get a job? My resume is slightly out of date. We got robbed, Derek," I slid open the door quietly when Peter grabbed Derek's shoulder "Robbed!" Even as he said the last part Derek had his arm in his grip snarling at him and flashing his eyes. His yellow eyes.

I could sense the confusion rolling off of Peter as I slid the door closed "Oh, that's a new look for you. What happened to your eyes?"

I started to take the stairs two at a time as I could hear Derek's reply "I don't know. But I'm willing to pay to find out,"

I had been planning on saying goodbye to Derek but they need some alone time, and I didn't want to be late again.

I checked in with Scott and Stiles, the latter grumping about someone named Liam who showed up out of nowhere. I tried to follow what they were saying but as we all know Stiles is a little erratic. I separated from them once they got to their math class and went on to the first period that I had with Kira. She looked nervous throughout it and only gave me a small smile when I asked if she was alright.

Classes flew by until lunch when I got a text from Derek who asked if he could take me to lunch. I could feel people staring as I got into his car leaning over to kiss him. He sighed into the kiss and pulled away slowly. He brought me to a small diner and when I went to go in the seat across from him. I felt myself being pulled into the booth on his side, his arm easily going over my shoulders and cuddling me into his side. I leaned against him happily as we gave our orders to the waitress.

"Sorry about this morning," He told me.

"It's fine, it looked like you guys needed to have a family discussion, and it was important,"

He looked at me and smiled "I don't think either of us minded that you were there,"

"Well he probably would have minded if we were acting like a couple around him," I pointed out. His grin faded a little "But despite being a little cagey he's been great, I kinda miss talking to him,"

He tried to pull away but I just kept his arm tightly around me by clasping our hands together "You miss him?"

"Just chatting with him and you know he and Stiles are the only ones that can match my snark," I tell him.

He grinned "I thought I was snarky too?"

I grinned back "Sour, Derek, your sour-wolf," He rolled his eyes and muttered about taking off Stiles's head. I laughed as I thanked the waitress for the food she had placed in front of us. We both dug in. I casually gave him a few bites of my food not wanting him to know I was worried about him. Ever since he changed back to himself he has been eating more, like he needs more energy than what he has. I know he is worried about his eyes, they are part of his identity. Either way. "I love you," I told him causing him to choke on a fry. I grinned and hit him on the back. He glared at me for laughing "Good to know I can still take your breath away," I teased him, something similar he had said to me at one point while we weren't dating.

He chuckled, over his coughing fit. And brought me in for a bone-melting kiss "I love you," he whispered brushing his nose against mine.

A throat cleared next to us causing me to yip in surprise which set off Derek again before we turned to see Parrish and Haigh standing next to us. Haigh was looking at me with a twisted grin and Parrish was looking between us "What have we here. Arielle, is it?" Haigh asked, "Skipping school?"

I rolled my eyes "I'm on my lunch break deputy," I told him lazily and took a bite of a french fry to prove my point.

His eyes narrowed at me eyes flicking back to take in Derek, he didn't look so brave when staring at the very tense alpha male with his arm around me. I tried not to grin at the bobbing of Haighs adams apple. Jordan was looking apologetic behind him and trying to get him to go to the counter "Well, better not have us catching you doing anything you're not supposed to be doing, your friend doesn't exactly look like he's in high school," Derek growled low in his throat at the implication. Haigh took a measured step back without thought and then looked mad. Derek kept his eyes on him while turning my face toward him and taking my lips in a savage kiss. I turned into goo against him.

I was a little dazed when he pulled back and he grinned a little at the look on my face. I forgot we had an audience until I heard Parrish behind me.

"Nice to see you, Arielle. We're going to have lunch now," he paused until Haigh walked away and then leaned toward us both "I don't know what his power trip is about but I think you should definitely file that complaint. I think he's gunning for you and if I'm not partnered with him I can't do anything," he told me seriously. I nodded and he walked away.

"So was that about me when I wasn't now me?" He looked confused even as he said it. I laughed.

"Yes it was about you, now wanna make out like teenagers in your car since you've started something you can't finish?" He laughed dropping some money on the table and following me out of the booth. I grinned and held my hand out to him and he grabbed it and pretended I helped him up. The rest of my lunch left me happy and frustrated.

After school, Malia and I met Kira on the bleachers since Scott and Stiles were doing tryouts. Kira filled us in on the whole: there's an Ax murderer in Beacon Hills.

"Doesn't Sean go here?" I asked her "He's a freshman right?" They both shrugged as I thought about it. I was pretty sure that coach was mad at him at the beginning of the year because he was fast but wouldn't join the track team. Maybe I'll go visit him when tryouts were over, I should probably call Melissa and ask if that's a good idea. I watched as Stiles collapsed after running Scott grabbing him before he could hit the ground and helping him off the field. "How is Stiles so out of shape? We are literally always on the run," I asked them. I could swear Malia growled at me. I looked at Kira and she shrugged surprised. I focused back on the team.

I could see that Kira was distracted, but I didn't want to say anything in front of Malia since she could be brutal at times. Turns out I didn't have to.

"What's wrong with you?" Malia demanded.

Kira jumped in surprise "Me? Nothing,"

"You reek of anxiety. And it's distracting. What's going on?" Malia asked and I nodded my head in agreement as it was already out there.

"Scott and I sort of had this thing happen. But it wasn't much of a thing. And I'm starting to think it never was anything at all,"

I was surprised "Like a bedroom thing?" I asked her and Malia perked up and glanced at Stiles and woah too much information for my brain.

"No!" Kira told us turning bright red.

Malia sighed "What do you want it to be?"

"More," She said softly and we both nodded our heads.

Scott missed the goal and one of the players was heckling him, Stiles was right there having Scott's back. For all of Stiles's faults, he did not let anyone mess around with his friends if he could help it. For a second I admired how shaggy his hair was until I felt Malia looking at me. I coughed inconspicuously and focused on the goal. It was starting to get embarrassing watching Scott fail so hard, even Stiles was doing better.

"Isn't the captain supposed to be one of the best players on the team? Or good?" Kira sighed after Scott had thrown the ball 5 feet away from the goal. Malia looked at the game but shrugged.

"Yeah, I almost want to leave so I don't have to see it," I told Kira. She grimaced as he missed again. Coach called for them to do two-on-ones, Kira and I clapped for them while Malia was looking over her notes not caring.

Evan Malia had to smile once Scott and Stiles started to work together to take down everyone. We were all cheering and I had to laugh when they chest bumped each other and Stiles flew in the other direction. Next up was the new kid Liam that they had been complaining about, he had been doing the best out of everyone so far. I hope they took him down.

Liam smacked them down and hard. They didn't even get close as he raced and twisted around them. Even worse he made a perfect shot into the goal. Kira and I both groaned, I could tell Malia was paying more attention now especially when she stood up and yelled "That was luck!" I could hear Stiles groan from here. "Do-over!" She called.

"Sweetheart, there are no do-overs. This is a practice," The coach called condescending.

"Ten bucks on Scott and Stiles," She called back not ready to stand down, she can't follow regular human interaction but she knew how to make bets?

"I'll take that action," Coach called pointing at her in agreement. I shook my head "Hey! Get back in there, Liam," He looked ready to do it all over again. He ran around Stiles quickly and turned right into Scott who had him over his shoulder and Liam landed on his back with a sickening snap. Kira and I looked horrified at each other while Malia was happy because Stiles and Scott won "Don't move! Don't touch him!" Coach yelled.

Liam tried to get up and reassure him that he was alright but started to go down again. Stiles and Scott caught him at the same time and ran him to the nurse. Coach started to yell at the rest of the guys. I scrambled down the bleachers to go meet the guys at the nurse. I saw Coach throw the ball in anger, right at Malia's head. We both looked shocked than relieved when Kira caught the ball easily.

I laughed as he told her to throw it back and she hit him right in the gut causing him to collapse "Someone asks her if she's ever played lacrosse," He called out still holding onto his waist.

Liam ended up needing to go to the hospital, Scott and Stiles were going with him. I let Scott know that Kira was waiting for him in the hall and took off to see Derek. Hopefully, we could finish what we started earlier.

Imagine my surprise as I see an intimate scene where Braedean is pulling on her shirt. I stop dead in my tracks as they banter back and forth only a foot away from each other. Derek's attention is solely on her. They are closer together when she softly tells him she wants him to trust her. I am pissed. He grins and tells her she has a week, he tosses her a gun, freezing as he sees me in the doorway. She doesn't say anything just quickly moving past me into the elevator.

I could feel my chest heaving as I tried to hold in my anger.

"Arielle-" I held my hand out in a stop gesture. He cautiously walked toward me clearly nervous. I took one step firmly back and narrowed my eyes at him. He stopped.

I got control of my breathing "Is this going to be another Stiles/Jennifer/Peter thing?" I asked him clenching my jaw. He went to step forward again and I tilted my head in warning.

"No," he told me "No it's not like that,"

I nodded and turned around pressing for the elevator to come up.

"Wait! I just said-"

"I know, but I am really mad right now and if I stay I am either going to say somethings that we will both regret or I am going to lose my shit. So I am going to go now. I want you to think about everything. I am not messing around anymore Derek," I warned him. He looked lost all of the sudden.

I took the elevator down and tried to keep calm. I didn't even want to know why she was putting her shirt on in front of him but I was feeling a lot of things. I got a frantic call from Lydia telling me to get to the hospital now, and to find the kid Sean who had made it away from the axe murder. She sounded panicked so I ran to my car and took off, I tried to ask her questions but she said she had to call the others and hung up. I slid into a space at the hospital cutting off someone who was about to turn into it, they honked the horn and yelled but I was already halfway to the entrance.

I asked the person upfront where Melissa was since I know they wouldn't admit me to Sean's room due to not being family. As soon as she told me she should be on the 4th floor I ran up the stairs. I was about to head onto the floor when I heard someone yelling on the roof. I slammed through the door and skidded to a stop. Scott was holding someone up with his teeth off the side of the roof as Sean attacked him. I leaped up and pulled him off Scott and got in between them.

He snarled at me and I raised my hands in surrender just to hear a sickening thud. Whatever hit him propelled him forward, he would have gone over the roof, but I had gotten in the way. I could feel myself trip backward as he slammed into me. Crying out I felt myself in the open air, Scott getting smaller as I fell.
