End of Main character status report
City of Vale, 12:05 AM, Tuesday, Old Vale
Old Vale, or simply 'Old Town' the local valeans call it, is a little piece of history from when vale was first built. Most of the buildings here are wooden or stone, not concrete. And the tree would make sense, Old Vale is much less urban. The tree near the catacombs is identical ones found in the Emerald Forest. The floral life in Old Vale is less restrictive than in the rest of the city. Notably, the trees here grow and die at their own rate. The tree right here has only been around since AFTER the great war. Of course, very few people other than very stubborn traditionalists live in Old town, mostly because the infrastructure is harder to adapt to modern dust powered standards. Ruby would admire the view of this time-capsule-esque part of Vale, if it weren't for her ravenous thirst.
Blood... need blood... NO! Can't think straight! Got to... find somewhere... to feed... STOP IT!
Ruby realized she doesn't what happens if she starves herself of blood. Sure, she may read it up on the book she got from the catacombs, but she probably doesn't have time to do so until she either dies of thirst or go feral. If she dies of thirst, it would be bad for her team since if one member of a team dies (especially the leader), the remaining members get held back until the numbers go back up to four. If she goes feral, it would be bad for Ruby. Being on a mindless crave for blood can have disastrous consequences for Ruby. But her freaking out about the ravenous thirst is only making it HARDER to think.
Must drink... MUST... RESIST TEMPTATION! Just a bit longer, got to go somewhere... somewhere with less possible witnesses... somewhere... blood...
Ruby trying to fend off her ravenous insanity, seeks to leave old town and go back downtown to hopefully quench her ravenous thirst on some low-life criminal and not some innocent old-timer. She uses her semblance to rush into downtown in an instant, leaving behind a trail of wilted rose petals.
City of Vale, 12:07 AM, Tuesday, Downtown.
Back at downtown, it's midnight, so all the crooks would be out targeting an unfortunate wanderer of the urban area. Her vampiric sense can allow her to sense negativity in the area, so she follows it. Weird, she didn't sense this in the catacombs, not even among the non-vampiric prisoners. Perhaps it can only sense negativity on the non-enthralled living? She heads towards the negativity, of course trying to stay hidden (A girl with veiny lips is going to bring out questions, and not just for the civilians). The negativity of course, leads to a bunch of White Fang members harassing a woman, mid-30's wearing a red bandanna, in an alleyway, no cameras around to record the scene. The Bandanna was a simple red, no details on it or anything. It'd be a shame if-
No! Not stealing bandana... thirst makes... thinking hard...
Ruby can't straight with the vampiric thirst and desire for blood clogging her tactical stratagem. Typically, in this position, Ruby would have thwarted the goons and saved that woman by now. But given her obvious symptom to her condition, it may only frighten her. Yet again, the vampire who turned Ruby walked around with his lips out in the open, yet again, he was likely baiting a huntsman or huntress. Why would she think that? Well, sensing negativity is a trait one would consider... grimm. She plots on how to take out each of those mooks in a stealthy manner. Clearly not by gunfire, because one shot would alert the rest. Can't do melee takedowns, Blake's the stealth expert.
What is she going to do? What is she going to do? Clearly this course of action is of need of-
MUST! FEED! BLOOD! NEED! BLOOD!
Character change: Ruby Rose - Feral Ruby
Concrete Jungle, Midnight, "Downtown"
The predator is thirsty! She cannot wait no more, she sees prey! She sees 5 prey: 4 wearing white, hiding their faces, trying to look like predator. 1 wears red, like blood.
Mmm... blood... must feed...
The Prey are all in a thin place, nowhere to run from the hunt! The predator goes down at all fours, like the hunter she is. She stalks on one of the 5 prey, waiting for them to be taken in by surprise... and... POUNCE! She jumps up at the masked prey, grabbing onto it with her claws (albeit said claws are dull for a predator like her), and keep her grip onto it using the rest of her grasping paws. She bites the neck of the prey, draining the blood from the prey, all of it! As soon as the prey was empty, she sees the red prey running from her. The taste of blood is addicting to this predator!
Blood... mmm... the taste, savor it. Prey had good blood.
The prey thinks it can run from the hunt, but the hunt doesn't end until it the hunter wants it to! The predator pounces at the red prey, in hopes of grabbing it, she fails. The prey is slippery, trying to stop the predator from her feast, it makes her angry. The predator's claws, change into a much sharper, black form, as if they belonged to a beowulf. She than pounces at the prey again, pinning her to the ground. She uses her claws to maul the resilient prey until she stops resisting, then she licks all the blood off the corpse and herself.
Prey make hunter Dirty! She need lick blood now! mmm... blood!
The remaining prey ceased standing around shocked in fear, and opened fire at the fierce predator. The predator is amused that her food is finally fighting back, this is going to be fun! Unlike most great predators like herself, she has an aura, mostly due to the soul in her body being unlocked. She runs up, all fours at the closest prey, and prepares to pounce at it. The prey than slides back, making the predator miss her mark and collapse on her face, humbling her. The predator than growls at her target, she cannot understand the prey and their complex mouth movements, but they are likely saying something about her, and she does not like it!
Less mouth moving! more dying! WANT BLOOD!
The predator, as much she despises it, stands on 2 legs, allowing more control to kill her prey in this body. She than runs towards her target, making the first move again, using her right hand to claw downward toward it. The target blocks the attack with a knife, and stabs her hand. While her right hand is stabbed, she uses her left arm to grab the target's head and throw it across the parallel wall of the concrete jungle she's in. Her target's head cracks open, killing it, she than grabs her neck, and bites it, draining all the blood that's in the corpse.
Food fight back! But food made hunter walk like food!
Only 2 Prey remain, they still on insisting on trying to kill their predator, the predator knows they will fail, but food that fights back is much more fun than it running away or being defenseless. She may be full, but she still wants to kill! She goes back to all fours, like a proper predator and not those prey, and pounces at her next target. Since she's killing for fun this time, she just goes straight to the mauling. She licks the blood off herself, but not the corpse, mostly because she doesn't need the corpses blood, and a proper hunter doesn't keep herself unkempt.
mmmm... Blood look pretty on dead corpse!
This just leaves the sole prey, all alone, nowhere to run, perfect for the final meal. Just because she's full, doesn't mean she can't enjoy a little dessert? Instead of pouncing on the last one, she plays with her food, biting at it's legs, draining only some of the blood from them. With weakened legs, the final prey can't stand properly and collapses, in vain, it takes one last shot at her predator, it hits her in the chest. A shot in the chest would kill her, if she wasn't already dead! The prey screams in horror as it's blood is about to be drained by the predator.
HUNT DONE! Now hunter bored... or predator? can't decide...
The hunt may be done, but she still has plenty of time to emit carnage. She smells around for negativity, and follows the scent, leading to her next victim. It's behind a wall! She cannot open this wall, so she must break it! She gets up on 2 legs and starts punching the wall, but only in vain, the wall refuses to break! She will punch it until it breaks so she can continue to-
NO DANGER! NOT THIRSTY! CAN... Think better now.
Her grimm claws revert back into it's human shape.
Character change: Feral Ruby - Ruby Rose
City of Vale, 12:24 AM, Tuesday, Downtown.
Ruby came to, from that blackout, and notices her clothes are covered in... saliva? She turns around and...
SWEAT STRAWBERRY FIRECRACKERS! WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED!?
Ruby's seen that the White Fang mooks are dead and decorating these walls, she feels bad for whoever has to clean them up. She also notices that the woman she tried to save was mauled to death, was she facing a wall while a grimm was attacking her? Unless...
No no no... no no no no... NO NO NO NO NO! Did I do this? Did I cause all of this? This is not good, NOT GOOD AT ALL! How am I going to explain what happened? Calm down Ruby, there's no cameras, and there's nothing pinning the scene to you. But I still need something to cover my face.
Ruby knows now she can't use the bandanna from the dead woman since it'll connect her to the crime. Nor can she steal anything from the White Fang corpses for the same reason. Ruby has to go out and buy one. Thankfully, coincidence or not, there's a clothing store right next to this alley. It's open too, she covers her mouth as she enters the store and browses for a bandanna, or a face mask to wear over her face. She turned to find a simple, red, bandanna, one that's the same shade of red as her outfit. She grabs it, heads to the 'less than 15 items' cashier, there's always one of those, and no, they don't count the items.
Well, if I'm gonna cover my face, I may as well make sure the thing I cover it with goes with my outfit.
She hands the cashier the bandanna, and the 40 lien to pay for it. After the transaction, she puts the bandanna on. She now needs to know how to get a regular supply of blood, so she doesn't black out and cause a scene of murder. Ruby unfolds crescent rose to see if there's any blood on the scythe... and... nope. No blood. That likely won't last very long knowing her fate, having to fight down huntsmen who specialize in hunting vampires and all. The young huntress-in-training (forever young that is, whether she likes it or not) now has to head back to beacon and try and adjust to her new 'lifestyle'.
Wait, where in downtown am I? gonna need to double-check the map to see where the nearest bullhead station is.
She checks her scroll to see where she is... and... wait? Her aura's back up at 100%? How'd that happen? It was stuck at 75% before she blacked out from starvation... perhaps drinking blood restores a vampire's aura? She's really going to need to read up on this as she's heading back, sure the night is young, but her team is likely worried as heck about her, being gone for 6 hours and all after simply ordering contact lenses for Yang. But that just means more time to figure out a reliable blood source from Beacon, so she doesn't have to feed on random people every night or go on feral rampages.
Author's Footnote: Well, here we are, another eye-gouging chapter. Ruby goes Feral and is honestly what I'd believe is the best part about this chapter, unless it's the worst part, which it probably is, repetitive has heck, not good with the primitive feral aggressive animal third person perspective style anyway, sorry if it sounded repetitive. So Next Chapter is returning to Beacon, and Ruby trying to find out how to adjust her daily life, and get something that covers her head in daylight, she'll need it when classes start back up. Or perhaps she'll stalk around the entrance hall at sunrise and wait for classes to start. Anyways, I Apologize if my terrible writing offended your eyes and brain.
