Author's Headnote: Now you know what my Art looks like, do you hate it? You likely do, my art is not that great. Anyways, I originally planned on the last chapter featuring a 'Dream Ruby', but that sounds kind of creepy, and cheesy. But instead of going through a vampire's dreams, I plan on developing more on to the story and bring up something that would last until 4:30 PM, Fanfic time. and since time moves erratically in the world of fiction, it could take 1 chapter, it could take 100. Now let's sit back and observe on the major character report.

End of Major character status report

Beacon Academy, 7:48 AM, Tuesday, Library

Beacon's library contains just about every book known to the public eye, which is why stuff about vampires here wouldn't be 100% accurate, unlike Ruby's Vampirica Encyclopedia.

Blake smuggled in Ruby's new book from the dorm so she could read it under a false cover, if anyone gets suspicious, they'll think she's reading smut or one of her romance novels. She's reading this to help Ruby with her condition, after all, the best way to look after a vampire is to know what they are.

Vampirica Encyclopedia: Volume 1, Chapter 2: Blood consumption.

Stating the obvious, vampires need blood. Human and Faunas blood provides much more nourishment to a vampire than other animals. Many theorize why vampires need to drink blood to survive, some say it's because the Grimm Queen was violent when it came to Cain's bedding, and bled him out dry in an attempt to turn him into a grimm himself, but the process fails and thus the body seeks to acquire blood from an outside source. Other's claim it's due to the vampire's undead nature that they cannot produce their own blood to maintain their sanity. But a vampire needs blood none the less. If a vampire goes too long without feeding, they will go feral and behave like the grimm that's bound to their soul.

A vampire can drink directly or indirectly from humans and faunas. Vampire's should bring a blood pack with them incase of an emergency, the quick drink can delay the feralhood and allow more time to feed off of someone before going feral. If a vampire goes feral on the other hand, the feral vampire will need to consume three times the normal amount of blood it takes to fill up a vampire full.

If the vampire has acquired previous knowledge in the culinary arts, they could mix blood inside their meals, note this does not provide as much nourishment as sucking blood from a neck. There is no consequence for a vampire in eating human food, just it gets decayed as soon as It enters the stomach. There is no consequence for mortals eating blood-mixed food meals, save for the taste. Mixing blood into drinks on the other hand, provides more nourishment than eating solid food mixed with blood, not not as much as pure, undiluted blood. However, a Blood-mixed drink will get a mortal sick and thus a vampire should drink it as soon as it is made. Blood mixed with food or drink, as said in the last chapter, does not restore a vampire's aura, if the vampire has unlocked it before their transformation.

Drinking blood from humans and faunas is recommended since it's more nutritious, and if the vampire shows restraint, they'd be re-usable. Drinking blood from animals however, is less nourishing, and will often end up draining the smaller ones dry instantly: like rodents, housecats, chickens, and dogs. Also, what kind of sick psychopath would feed off of cats instead of people!? Sure, they're vampires, but mortals have more blood and it feeds them better! Like, what the heck? As for larger animals on the contrary, sure a vampire would not dry them out instantly, but still they'd provide less nourishment than human or faunas blood. The odd exception is frog's blood, which is equally as nutritious as humans or faunas, but from research has shown, it tastes AWFUL! Vampire's do not like the taste of frogs, so it's unwise for a mortal to knowingly give them frog's blood.

Blake is intrigued by this, animal blood is a viable substitute, but is needed in a larger quantity? She wonders what happens if it's mixed with human or faunas blood. This knowledge will sure come in handy when it comes to feeding Ruby. She also learned about the blackout Ruby experienced, she went 'Feral', which from the book says is when the vampire enters a grimm-like mindset, with a large appetite and a bloodthirsty attitude (pun not intended). And Blake is shocked about reading on the part about vampire auras. Apparently, they cannot recover on their own, so which means Blake's going to have to sneak Ruby some drinks in combat practice classes. And from what this chapter says, it can't be mixed with anything, so she'll need to sneak out some blood packs from the clinic or have Ruby bite her.

Now that the self-admitted lesson in 'Vampirism 101' is done, Blake can get back on figuring out a way to get Yang and Sun out of Beacon for their little casual outing. And more importantly, figure out why the White Fang is working with Roman Torchwick AND the Blackout in Beacon! The news report stated that the CCT Relay was sabotaged and the main dust capacitor was stolen. First, the person would need access to the capacitor room in the first place. So, which means they must have been either a member of the staff, or a member of the student-body council, which makes up 1 person from each of the 4 years, with the notable exception being Beacon's third year, since it only has one student (poor guy is used as filler for fourth year students with a causality). The councilmen were picked anonymously by headmaster Ozpin himself, so it'll take awhile to figure that out. As for the staff, she needs to investigate each and every one of them.

She could look at JNPR's notes and see what they've found out. They're friends after all, surely, they won't mind having more people add on to the investigation, and Ruby would certainly help with her newly acquired night vision. But she'd need to wake her up early for that. And she needs to find a way to sneak OUT of School grounds and back IN. The only bullheads arriving to Beacon will be the ones containing students from Haven, Shade, and Atlas. Even than, Law enforcement has auto-pilot disabled which means she has to drive one. Or... the Emerald Forest! Of course, the police wouldn't even think huntsmen trainees are crazy enough to jump off a cliff, but it's her only way out of Beacon. Getting back in, would be a lot harder though.

"All fourth-year students please go to the interrogation room, or right next to it and at the back of the line. You'll be answering questions about yesterday's incident!" Chief Blue said on the intercom.

And of course, he goes after the fourth-years first. If the pattern continues, Ruby would only need to wake up at 1 PM for interrogations. Wait, he still needs to go after the staff so... 2 PM? I don't know, I'm not good at math.

Beacon Academy, 8:10 AM, Tuesday, Academy corridors

Blake sees some of the lazy or formerly busy fourth years lining up to be questioned, not as if they were given a choice. The police here would have likely rounded up any stragglers, which is why she's worried about Ruby, vampires can't exactly... leave the great indoors during daylight hours, at least without covering themselves up. Blake sees Yang and Sun talking in the Beacon Cafeteria, good that they're getting along. Such a shame they can't leave Beacon until the perp is caught. She sighs that a lot of potential plans for staff and students alike are grinded at a halt due to this one particular event, chances are Beacon's dance is most likely cancelled, and the training mission afterward will be delayed. Blake's mind is now on Old Town's catacombs, vampires are using it as their layer, and from what Ruby told her about it, is keeping people in there as if they were cows or chickens. She decides to think about something else, because sure, the vampires are a threat, but there's no way they could have caused this event.

It had to be someone in the White Fang, it had to. which means that the likely suspect is a faunas, or a human that thinks they're a faunas. She can clearly narrow down Sun and Velvet, she was with them when the Beacon Blackout occurred, in the library studying, in Sun's case it was playing video games, in Blake's case it's getting info on the White Fang attacks. Velvet was the only one that was actually studying. So, it had to be one of the faunas students Blake doesn't really know well, come to think of it, she never really talked to anyone outside of RWBY, JNPR, CVFY, and CDRL, along with Sun of course. There are hundreds of students in each year, and 1/20 of them are faunas. To avoid any direct contact, Blake decides to eavesdrop on some of the students.

"Hey, you've heard about the Grimm attack at downtown last night?" The first one said.

"It's all over the news! Of course, I've heard of it!" The second one replied.

"Wonder what that Ruby chick was doing when the nostferatu attacked those people."

"Nostfer-what?"

"That's what people's been calling it. I don't know, I'm not the designated grimm name giver!"

"Heard she was getting something for her sister Yin."

"Don't you mean Yoda?"

"It's likely something like 'Xiao'."

"Shayoh?"

"Xiao. It's mistrilian from what I've heard."

"She doesn't look like she's from mistral."

"So, you're saying this Yoda chick is not only from mistral, but has a valean sister?"

"I don't know. Maybe?"

"They don't even look alike! They could actually be dating and just say they're sisters!"

That's actually pretty disgusting. Now the thought of Ruby and Yang making out is stuck in my head!

Blake stopped eavesdropping after hearing that, she than shudders. Apparently, people's been labeling Ruby's 'feral blackout' as a grimm attacking from the newly discovered 'nostferatu'. Blake of course knows this 'nostferatu' isn't real and it's actually Ruby. How did Ruby make those claw marks on those bodies anyhow? She never said she could have grimm claws. Maybe she doesn't know about them, or perhaps it's a feral only thing. Blake will ask Ruby about this when she wakes up, after she is fed of course, no need to accidentally make her feral over a simple question.

Blake needs to do something to get that thought of Ruby and Yang in a romantic session. Typically, she wouldn't mind seeing girl on girl in her head, but seeing Ruby and Yang doing it to each other is just gross, they're sisters!

Beacon Academy, 8:15, RWBY Dormitory

Blake is going through some of Yang's video games, perhaps one of the action hack and slashers will be mindless to get that cursed thought out of her head! She's already giving the pairing a name: 'Enabler'! Blake isn't sure if Ruby would happy or disturbed hearing that, but at least she would have a combo name for Ruby and Yang. She figured some video-games would clear her mind.

Blake popped the game into the console, and put on the VR equipment needed to play the game.

Let's hope it can get that imagery out of my head.

Beacon Academy, 8:18 AM, RWBY Dormitory

"Blake? What are you Playing?"

"Gah! Wha-wha-who's there?" Blake shouted, apparently never play an action horror game with VR equipment, you'll get scared easily.

"It's me, Blake." Weiss said.

"Sorry Weiss, I was too immersed by the game. I was lost in virtual reality I guess."

"Next time, don't make as much noise, you're going to wake up Ruby!"

"Since when did you suddenly care about Ruby? Wasn't it you who declared herself 'acting leader' while Ruby was gone last night?"

"Hey, I'm the 'W', so I'm next in line to lead team RWBY!"

"Unless Ozpin finds another 'R'."

"Like he would find one."

"He will."

"Prove it!"

"He accepted Jaune into Beacon; he'll just about take anyone whose name starts with the letter 'R'."

"Fair enough. he does look kind of cute though."

"To each their own Weiss, why don't you ask him out?"

"He may be cute, but he's not my type Blake. He's a bit of a... wimp."

"Says the girl whose never won a single duel in combat training!"

"Shush..."

"I rest my case."

Weiss storms out of the room, in an angered defeated manner. Blake feels good winning another argument against Weiss. Although the conversation wasn't an argument to begin with. She can't let Weiss near Ruby while she's asleep, she may end up noticing something off about Ruby. Knowing Ruby, she went with the silly 'Crossed arms and ceased breathing' vampire sleeping. Well, she is younger than the rest of RWBY. Blake's not going to wake her up for another 8 hours. So, she may as well read and play video games to pass the time, sure it may be a waste of time, but she knows JNPR won't accept just Blake's help by herself, sure she's a stealth expert, but so is Ren. Even if JNPR knew she was a Faunas, Ren wouldn't need night vision. Even if she wanted to do it on her own, she can't neglect Ruby, she may end up starting a 'nostferatu' search in beacon on top of the current Beacon Blackout investigation.

Thankfully, whatever was going on in Blake's head is now gone, she can go back to reading her books. The cat faunas isn't much of a fan of video-games anyway, and why would Yang need so much equipment for entertainment? A simple book and a good imagination can keep one occupied through boredom. But clearly, it's not for everyone, as evidence by Yang's choice in electronic entertainment. May as well read the time away, it's also less reality-sucking than the VR Set, so she can actually pay attention to Ruby's alarm. She'll need to ask Weiss when she comes back to ask for her mathematical advice on how long the fourth-year students will take up Chief Blue's time.

Come to think of it, Weiss never told anyone where she was when the blackout happened. Like stated earlier, Blake was in the library, and Ruby and Yang were in the gym. As for team JNPR, Jaune and Nora were with Ruby and Yang in the gym. Not sure about Pyrrha and Ren though, but since they are investigating the Blackout on their own, it's likely neither are involved. And she hasn't seen Penny since the attack at the docks, perhaps she might have caused it? And there's still the likelihood that the White Fang is behind the attacks, not to mention the plausibility of the vampire faction that turned Ruby.

Author's Footnote: Hey, you survived by horrible writing! I originally planned on Blake stealing blood packs for Ruby, but elected that was out of character for Blake to steal, since it will lead her to do darker things for the sake of keeping Ruby alive (or as alive as a vampire can be), and that's not who I want to make justifications for breaking the law or doing morally questionable actions (that would be for Ruby, the main character after all.) But it's okay, Next chapter will skip over a couple hours and we'll get back onto Ruby! Yaaaaaaay! Please leave a review, I have conflicting thoughts, I'm not sure If what I'm doing is horrible, or horrible but acceptable! See ya next chapter!
