The Return to Phantomile

~ VISION 1-4: The Past? ~

Within a blurry vision, Klonoa slowly opened his eyes... he faintly hears loud explosions and the area rumbling all around them... While a girl was holding him.

Klonoa (Thoughts): Ngh... wait... where am i...?

As Klonoa tries to look around, he that the area was on the brink of exploding, as well as that she seemed to look like she was in a hurry... Although Klonoa couldn't exactly make out her face, he noticed that she had a few similar traits to his own... specifically the ears.

"...uld do it..."

Klonoa (Thoughts): Who is she...? Is this a dream? Or...

The unknown girl then puts down Klonoa faintly into the middle of what seemed like a shrine in a cave, almost collapsing herself from exhaustion... but she reaches out to Klonoa, while faintly smiling.

"...live... sake... noa."

Klonoa (Thoughts): Wait... live...? What does she mean...?!

As the area around himself lighted up just between him and the mysterious girl, she passed out with a smile... Klonoa tried to reach out to her, noticing that his own hand was super small...

Klonoa (Thoughts): Did i shrink...? H-hold on...! Wait! Who are you? ! ?

Everything around Klonoa lighted up...

Klonoa: Ack! !

Klonoa woke up back on the plains at the camp in Phantomile with a bit of a shock, realising it was early in the morning as the dark blue and faint yellow orange sky were getting a tiny bit brighter by the minute due to the sun slowly rising in the distance... He calmly tried to catch up with his own breath, as he looked around him. He noticed that the campfire had burnt out, and that Huepow and Kio were still sleeping. Although Huepow slowly woke up a few seconds after Klonoa's sudden shock, trying to clumsily get up from his bed.

Huepow: N-ngh... What happened...? Are you okay, Klonoa?

Klonoa: Oh... it's nothing. I think i was just having a vision...

Huepow: A vision? As in... like a dream? But nobody can see dreams.

Klonoa: I know, but... I think I did though... I saw it faintly in front of me like a mysterious event. A girl told me to "live" in a crumbling cave, as the world around me lighted up... i was smaller, and couldn't do anything either. I'm not sure what that was about... Was it something from the past...?

Huepow: That is rather bizarre. Although... you are a Dream Traveler, so it could be an exception. Maybe this dream deeply means something of significance to you?

Klonoa: Perhaps. But... what would it even mean to me? I don't even remember anything from before i came to Phantomile... Hmm...

Klonoa tried his hardest to think through, but eventually shook his head a bit out of frustration as it draws a blank.

Klonoa: Oh, nevermind. I shouldn't think about something i couldn't even know about.

Huepow: Perhaps not for now. But maybe it'll come back properly to you.

Klonoa as he was sitting down, looks down to the ground as he seemed pretty sad but also determinated.

Klonoa: Maybe... But for now, i'm really set on discovering on how I was able to return here, and if I can return back to Lunatea at least one more time. I have to. Even if i'm not allowed to just like how i couldn't stay here... I have to do it.

Huepow walks up a bit closer to Klonoa, sits onto his bed next to him and puts his arm around him. Klonoa slowly looked back at Huepow.

Klonoa: Huepow...

Huepow smiled up a bit towards Klonoa.

Huepow: I will help you discover the truth. You're my friend, after all. Don't carry that burden alone.

Klonoa seemed surprised, as a tear ran down his face... Klonoa wiped it off, as he smiled a bit, and then nodded his head back at him.

Klonoa: Mm... you're right. Thank you, Huepow.

Meanwhile, Kio quickly got up, heavily yawned and stretched his arms out while doing it.

Kio: Uaaaahhhh... Good morning, Phantomile!

Klonoa and Huepow stared a bit out of surprise at Kio, as he confusingly looked back at the two.

Kio: What? What's the matter? You two fighting again?

Klonoa: W-what? No, of course not...

Huepow: We two are just astounded from how you can quickly jump out of your bed like that... I still feel a bit fuzzy.

Kio: What do you mean? It's just part of my usual morning routine like the others! Besides, you two were up before me.

Huepow: I usually sleep much longer than this, but Klonoa's noise made me get up earlier.

Klonoa: Sorry for that. But... Routine? You can do that usually? I would rather just take my time to get up...

Kio: Seems like you are a bit of the lazy type, hehe.

Klonoa: L-Lazy?!

Huepow then slowly got up from the bed he sat on with Klonoa, as he then stood up as well.

Huepow: But regardless, we should get going now and make our way over to Jugpot. I haven't been there in a while myself, but the King of Jugpot probably knows something.

Klonoa: The king?

Huepow: You forgot about the king there? Well, it's been quite a long time for us both, so it's understandable... Either way, we could try to pick up some more clues over there. He could know a lot more about that mysterious crystal you have than we currently do.

Klonoa: Okay, i believe you.

Kio: Alright alright, lemme just pack everything before we head off.

As Kio folds the bed sheets that were on the ground and puts them back in his backpack as quickly as he can, he then turns back to both Klonoa and Huepow.

Kio: Right. Let's go!

Kio then took a few steps ready to head for Jugpot up ahead, but stopped for a bit... he then quickly grabbed one of the spears that was still stuck in the ground from last night, and turned back to the two.

Kio: Wait a moment... how do we really put up a fight after last time? I mean, you got the strength as you're a prince and all, Huepow. But Klonoa himself seemed like he was about to face death last time along with me. And nevermind myself, as i'm not good as a fighter at all either! I can only really defend but that's it...

Huepow then laughed a bit, as he pointed at the Wind Ring that was attached to Klonoa's belt.

Huepow: That right there is a one of a kind weapon... and what makes my friend truly stand out. We will fight on and protect you. No need to worry.

Kio: How so? That thing needs 'spiritual energy' to be powered... whatever that means!

Huepow then held his arm up to his own chest, as he smirked a bit.

Huepow: Who do you take me for? You said it yourself. I am a prince! Klonoa, demonstrate it for him, will you?

Klonoa: R-right...

Klonoa then detached the Wind Ring from his belt and held it with his right hand...

Huepow: Here goes!

Huepow then quickly stuck his arms out, and spiritually entered into the Wind Ring, as the green crystal within the ring lighted up. Klonoa held the Wind Ring in front of him as he closed his eyes.

Klonoa (Thoughts): It feels good to finally be able to do this again...

Klonoa then reopened his eyes, and aimed the Wind Ring right at the burnt out campfire a few meters away from them, having grabbed a hold of the ring with both hands... taking a wider and firm stance with his feet, as his right foot slides over the ground.

Klonoa: WIND BULLET! !

Klonoa then shot a green Wind Bullet right at the burnt out campfire, as the Wind Bullet returns right at the Wind Ring, with Klonoa now holding the burnt planks from the campfire... Kio seemed amazed.

Kio: Whoa...?!

Klonoa grinned a bit, as he then throws the burnt planks off towards the rising sun in the distance, almost disappearing from their sight completely. As Kio was still looking over into the distance, Klonoa goes back to his regular stance and turns towards Kio as he held up the Wind Ring.

Klonoa: No need to worry, alright? We got this.

Kio shook his head a bit and turned back to Klonoa, looking right at the Wind Ring... Kio then started to ponder to himself for a bit.

Kio: So that's what it was back then... I remember it clearly... a green orb exactly like that one hit the bubble I was trapped in and broke me out...! So you two always worked together as one...? You were the one who was in the ring all along, Prince Huepow?!

Klonoa slowly started to walk on ahead for Jugpot into the distance... as Kio was still pondering for a few seconds and snapped back to it, he realised Klonoa with Huepow in the Wind Ring went on further without him.

Kio: H-hey! Don't leave me behind after having me realise things like that! I still need to properly thank you two for saving me! !

Kio with his heavy backpack started to run after Klonoa and Huepow to try and catch up with them.
