Author's Headnote: By now you see where this is going. But don't worry, some of the other students should be finishing their tasks just about this chapter. This being a warm-up mission shadowing a huntsman, I figured these missions would take longer. So... they'll come back around Wednesday... which is the start of the chapter. So, without it... let's just dive back into the chapter now, shall we?

Character Change: Ruby Rose - Blake Belladonna

Beacon Academy, 5:34 AM, Wednesday, RWBY Dormitory

Blake was woken up by the orchestra of untapped alarms. The sounds of the various beeping, radio chatter, and miscellaneous noise fill the room. Sure, the alarms wouldn't be noticed initially, but these alarms typically tend to be picked up by the ears quickly because their owners aren't around to hit 'snooze'. So, they just go off incredibly loud. And this will last for thirty minutes, because after thirty minutes the alarms turn themselves off.

No matter, she gets ready for the day, and her team too. Because nobody on her team can sleep through an entire dorm's worth of alarms. Blake wonders what her girlfriend is doing in this time. She's not asleep so which means she's not back or worse. Must be doing whatever Ozpin is tasking her or something. But no less, Blake claimed the shower before Yang uses all the hot water.

After she got out of the shower to get dressed, Yang blitzed into the bathroom. Blake feels sorry for Weiss for having to take a cold shower. Meanwhile Blake dressed into her clothes somewhere where no one would look at her.

She went out to the living room, just to see Ruby playing videogames with her headphones on. Well, at least her girlfriend is fine. But she was worried when Ruby didn't try to go to bed... yet again, she likely wouldn't be able to... even as a vampire. Given the alarms out there. But Blake's glad she doesn't have to find a dustpan and a broom to bury her girlfriend.

Blake sat next to Ruby. And tapped on her shoulder.

Ruby took off her headphones and saw Blake. "Oh, well. Uhh... What time is it?" She asked. And than she heard the alarms go off. "Wow, that is annoying." She spoke.

"Yep. It's annoying. And it's not even 6 AM yet. How long have you been playing video games for, Ruby?" Blake asked.

"Since around... 1 AM?" Ruby guessed.

"So... you spent the last four hours playing video games?"

"Yep. I didn't want to wake you up, hence the headphones."

"Well, that's considering. So... what has Ozpin assigned you to do."

"Oh, that. Oh, he's having me- oops, I forgot I'm not allowed to tell you."

"Why?"

"He says that your interference may cost your lives. And that it's a 'me-only' job. And yes, it involves my vampirism."

"Oh... well. Hopefully you can handle whatever is thrown at you on your own."

"I hope so too."

Ruby saved and shut off her game. And went to wrap her arm around Blake. Blake was blushing from this, and feeling Ruby's room temperature arm.

"Ruby, you're cold." Blake said.

"And you're warm." Ruby replied.

"So... any reason you wrapped your arm around me?"

"I'm just trying to show some love to my girlfriend, one who's warm and beautiful."

Ruby went for a kiss; Blake appreciates the attempt and accepts the kiss. There was no tongue it was rather more affectionate and passionate than something more towards hot and fiery like the last full kiss they had, yet again they're not kissing with tongue so Blake doesn't taste Ruby's tongue, which tastes like blood. Not sure how Ruby puts up with the taste, but it must be a vampire thing. She doesn't try to add tongue in the scenario, nor does she try to advance anything.

But after ten seconds, Ruby and Blake stopped

"No tongue this time?" Blake asked.

"I didn't feel like it was appropriate giving the mood." Ruby said.

"Didn't stop you last time."

"True, and I should be getting ready for bed now, I don't want to be up the same time as the sun."

"Not yet. You would have trouble going to sleep, even as a vampire."

"Don't worry about it. And besides, I should make you and the rest of the team something to eat before I hit the hay."

"I appreciate it."

Ruby went out and put her headphones away and prepared to cook in the kitchen. Blake can appreciate all that Ruby's doing for her team, even as a vampire. Although she does need something to wash the taste of blood, Blake has no Idea how Ruby can put up with the taste, must be a vampire thing. She's really liking it here, despite there not being any night classes.

Blake went to eat breakfast with her living team as Ruby prepares to go to bed. Ruby's a good cook, no doubt about that. However, given her unique traits, chances are she hasn't actually tasted her food for awhile. But regardless, it's good.

"Ruby sure didn't forget how to cook." Yang stated.

"Pretty sure her vampirism didn't affect her skills." Blake said.

"Glad it didn't or I'd actually would have to try to cook myself."

"Please don't."

"I could have Weiss do it."

"You know I'm the only other one who does the cooking here, right? Weiss' cooking needs to improve before she could actually serve something edible. And you need to learn to not set the entire kitchen on fire first."

"I can handle it."

"Well, don't burn down the entire building."

"On another topic, should someone tell Weiss breakfast is ready?"

"Nah, she's being Lazy again. Let her handle it on her own."

By the time Blake and Yang finished and went to head out, the two see Weiss finally getting up to eat her breakfast. Well, Blake doesn't want her to complain if her food's cold, that's on her. And by the time she's done, she'd be on the couch binging old sitcoms. Thankfully Lazy Weiss doesn't have to be dealt with in classes and missions. Otherwise, her grades would suffer and the entire team would pay for it. But it's nice to see her relax for once, even if it's just a bit much to how she's relaxing.

Beacon Academy, 8:50 AM, Wednesday, Beacon Courtyard

Blake and Yang were walking out to meet up with anyone they'd recognize. Yet again, they only really know like a handful of teams. The rest of the students at Beacon are a mystery to them. Ruby's not here with them because she's asleep and vampires can't be out during sunlight hours. Weiss is being lazy, so it's just Blake and Yang.

To Blake's surprise, JNPR has shown up. Although it looks like Oobleck was not too happy about it. Infact, he looks angry. Guess it appears the team has destroyed some historical artifact or temple or something. But Blake could catch up with JNPR later. Because chances are, they are going to be scolded soon by Oobleck, and later the headmaster.

Team SSSN soon followed. And Yang looks happy to see him.

"Hey Sun!" Yang said in a good mood.

"Hey Yang, good to see you dropped by." Sun stated.

"Maybe I was wondering if me and Blake here, and you and Neptune could stop by the pool this afternoon."

"Actually, I don't think that'd be a-" Neptune said, before being interrupted.

"Great, It's a date. Not sure why you'd want third wheels." Sun interrupted.

"If I wanted to bring a third wheel, I'd bring my sis."

"So... Why Blake?"

"She's a good friend. And Weiss feels lazy today. I'd figure Hey, whynot bring you and Neptune and me and Blake to the Vale Indoor swimming pool?"

"Why the indoor one?" Blake asked.

"It's autumn and the temperature's dropping, not exactly swimsuit weather." Yang stated.

"So... uhh... ya, no reason to go swimming now." Neptune commented.

"I said indoor swimming pool, which means the temperature would be artificially modified to make it more like a beach or an outdoor swimming pool. And for some reason they have UV Greenhouse lights. But that just means one could have a free tan there if they want."

Note to self: The indoor swimming pool is not a good place to go on a date with Ruby. Also, why does Yang want me and Neptune to accompany her and Sun to their date? Going to a public swimming pool with just two people isn't that awkward.

Guess Blake is going to a swimming pool against her will... with Neptune. Hopefully Yang has everything that's needed for this trip. Otherwise, this will be an awkward experience for everyone involved. Well, it'd be awkward for Blake and Neptune for sure that is, regardless of the circumstances.

Yang went to go pack some things, Sun came with, likely packing his and Neptune's stuff. Whilst her and Neptune were waiting... awkwardly.

"So... while the two of them are away for the moment how about you and I-" Neptune tried to flirt with Blake, but Blake slapped him.

"Ow! What was that for?" Neptune asked.

"I have a girlfriend!" Blake stated.

"Oh. Sorry, didn't know."

"Next time, it won't be just a slap in the face."

Neptune squealed out of fear. Well, at least Neptune won't be hitting on Blake now... or Yang. Although Blake does admit to herself that was a bit rough. Yet again, she was like that when Ruby was using her night vision stare at Blake's breasts.

After awhile Yang and Sun showed up with bags, one for Yang and Blake, the other for Sun and Neptune. Given the location of the pool, chances are there's sunscreen in there. From what Ren has told Yang and Blake a month ago, Aura can't exactly provide 100% protection against radiation. And sometimes, the radiation would go through the aura. In Ruby's or any other vampire's case the UV lights would outright damage and deplete the aura. Yet again, modern UV lights perfectly replicate the sun's rays. So, it's really a hard factor whether or not Ruby's damaged from the 'holy light of the sun' or 'UV radiation'.

"We got the stuff for the pool." Yang announced.

"yay..." Neptune said quietly. Neptune doesn't sound too pleased about going to a swimming pool, what's up with that?

But Blake isn't too excited to be a third wheel and doesn't honestly feel like swimming. She really doesn't like swimming in the first place. Come to think of it, Blake has never learned how to swim, or tried to learn how to swim. Nor did she even want to learn how to swim. Going to be awkward when Yang offers Blake to come to the water.

But no matter, Blake's here reluctantly with Neptune. Blake went and texted Weiss.

'Weiss. I am accompanying Yang, Sun, and Neptune to the swimming pool. Look after Ruby for me.' Blake texted.

'Does that mean?' Weiss texted.

'If she wakes up and there aren't any bloodpacks, yes. You have to.'

Weiss responded with a frowny face emoticon. Not even an emoji, just a colon and left parenthesis.

Guess Weiss doesn't sound happy about potentially losing blood. Let's just hope Ruby has bloodpacks to spare.

Character Change: Blake Belladonna - Jaune Arc

Beacon Academy, 9:00 AM, Wednesday, Oobleck's classroom (not in session)

Jaune and his team were punished for the accidental destruction of the entire temple, that and triggering all the traps in the ancient under temple. The punishment is that the entire team is to clean Oobleck's classroom daily until the beginning of the Vytal tournament. Something tells Jaune that the punishment was soft because of Pyrrha's exceptional skills. Jaune already does this anyway, so not like it's punishment to him, the punishment is really his teammates being mad at him.

Jaune was cleaning up the room, as he normally does... sweeping the floors. And vacuuming the carpets. His team can't leave the room until the place is spotless. Normally, this would be brief with Ren around, but it doesn't look like he's doing things at 'Ren-speed' just to spite Jaune right now.

Eventually, after four hours. The place was clean. Now they can check with Oobleck to see if they can leave.

"Hmmm... well, it looks clean. But..." Oobleck stated.

The entire team was silent out of anticipation.

"I've noticed that you forgot one thing." Oobleck said, looking under the desks.

"Scrape the gum off of the desks!" He stated.

The entire team groaned. And since there was no tool to remove the gum, they had to use their hands.

Why is there so much gum under desks? And why don't people use the edible sticks? They exist! Guess whatever cosmic being is out there, they want to make Jaune suffer. Since he's using his hands to remove the gum one at a time. Nora on the other hand is slamming each of the desk platforms and making all the gum fall off. Jaune would have to get the broom and sweep up whatever is left.

Eventually, after getting on piece of chewed gum off the desk, Nora slams that desk platform and they all came down, one of which enters Jaune's mouth and he's choking it out.

Oh god! Why Nora? Can't you just wait! It's so disgusting.

After a couple of gags and choking, Jaune managed to spit out the chewed gum... which landed on Nora's left leg.

"Jaune, why did you spit gum on me?" Nora complained.

"Not my fault, you were the one who slammed the desk and got it caught in my throat." Jaune stated.

"NO TALKING!" Oobleck yelled.

The two of them were ordered to stop yelling. No need to make a matter worse. Ren eventually intervened and carefully removed the gum.

Jaune than threw away the gum. And scrubbed up the place where it's been. Jaune than went got a broom and swept the entire room. And than scrubbed it.

"Well. Now that the gum is dealt with, you four can go. But you will expect to clean my classroom after you finish classes tomorrow." Oobleck stated.

"Thank you." Jaune stated. And exited the classroom.

Jaune's curious to see what team RWBY is up to, maybe pop on by.

Beacon Academy, 1:34 PM, Wednesday, RWBY Dormitory

Jaune knocked on the door. But nobody answered.

For some reason he knocked on it again.

'Alright, alright, just stop pounding the door!' Weiss yelled behind the door.

Footsteps could be heard, but not from heels clacking. So perhaps someone else is getting the door.

The door opens up, and he sees Weiss... she's wearing a T-shirt with sweatpants. With bed-hair. She's also barefoot. Did she not change her clothes when she got up? And from the looks of it she's the only one in the dorm.

"Weiss, don't you normally practice around this time?" Jaune asked.

"I would, but I don't feel like it." Weiss said.

"Whynot?"

"Cause sometimes I just want to lounge on the couch and watch Television."

"And when are those times?"

"Now. And why are you bothering me? I don't feel like going out."

"Is... Blake or Ruby here?"

"Blake's away somewhere, I don't know where."

"And Ruby?"

"She's sleeping."

"It's 1 PM!"

"She's been up all-night doing something."

"You don't know what she's doing?"

"No, and I don't care. It's Ruby. She's just out doing something."

"And it's always at night?"

"Ya."

"Weird. Can I come in?"

"No."

Weiss slammed the door shut. Guess she really isn't in the mood to talk to Jaune. Yet again, she rarely is. Sure, there was that time at the dance but Weiss was kind of humiliated at her date for wearing a dress. Jaune couldn't go back on his word! He had to!

But no matter, he left the door of the RWBY dorm and proceeded to go on about his business.

Character Change: Jaune Arc - Blake Belladonna

City of Vale, 11:50 AM, Wednesday, Indoor UV Pool

In the commercial district is a large indoor pool area, which uses greenhouse sun lamps for lighting, simulating the sun. The tiles are white, and the walls are painted blue. The water is filtered so it's like one is swimming in a giant water bottle. The shallow end of the pool consists of 2 feet of water downward. Mostly children and people who don't know how to swim are around this part. And than there's the semi-shallow end. Which is around 3-5 feet of water. The more so teenagers and novices at swimming are around there. Then there's the Semi-Deep end, which is around 6-8 feet of water. Experienced swimmers are around here, mostly to practice competitive swimming. Hence the lines around that area.

And than there's the Deep end... consisting of 9-12 feet of water. Experienced swimmers are around here for Leisure reasons. Same with some of the fish faunas who naturally know how to swim. Since they have gills along with lungs. Yang's around there in a one-piece swimsuit. Apparently, she's a good swimmer. Considering her semblance, one would think she'd stay away from large bodies of water. B

lake on the other hand, can't swim. So, she's around one of the benches watching people have fun wearing swim trunks and a shirt, with a bikini top under the shirt. Not sure where Yang got Blake swimwear, since Blake has never worn a swimsuit ever before in her life. Well, until now. Blake can't help but notice that it doesn't 100% fit her, so it may be one of Yang's older swimsuits, which would be kind of disturbing.

Neptune was next to her, kind of looking like he's relaxed and chilled... but Blake thinks it's just a show, given that he hasn't changed into his swimwear. Sun was out there wearing swim trunks, swimming with Yang. Not sure why they needed Blake and Neptune with them, they seem to be happy on their own.

Blake was watching people swim. What else is she supposed to do, chill out at the shallow end and be surrounded by children and teenagers that can't swim or barely know how to swim? Yet again, she herself has never set foot in a swimming pool. And she's honestly humbled on it, and she really can't get a tan because she's not wearing a bikini. So, she's just wearing sunscreen and sitting on a bench next to Neptune, who would be sweating in his own clothes if not for his aura. Aura can equalize temperature to a degree. However, even with Aura, it's recommended to dress according to the weather.

"Why aren't you swimming?" Neptune asked.

"Well, it's really hard for me to do so." Blake stated.

"How so?"

"Because I never learned how to swim."

"What? How?"

"My parents didn't teach me to swim, they had other worries to be concerned with."

"Well, that's a bummer than."

"Why aren't you swimming than?"

"Well, because... I don't want my hair dye to be well... and it uhh..."

"Neptune, you do know modern hair-dye can take being wet, and is harmless to hair growth, right?"

"Oh... well, sorry... forgot."

"I mean, you haven't even changed into swimwear, Neptune."

"It's because... I don't have any?"

"I don't either."

"Then, what are you wearing?"

"Possibly one of Yang's older sets of swimwear."

"Well... that's..."

"Disturbing? Yes."

"So... who exactly are you dating?"

"Ruby Rose, my team leader. You've likely heard of her."

"Oh. So, Sun's girlfriend's sister?"

"Yes. She's Yang's sister."

"Seems like a nice girl."

"Don't think about it, Ruby doesn't like guys that way. You're better off trying to hit on Weiss."

"Didn't she go to the dance with a guy wearing a dress?"

"Yes... and it was kind of funny to see him wear one."

"So... ya... I was just there chilling... for the whole party."

"Not even dancing?"

"Well... I can't exactly... dance."

"Neptune, don't worry about it. Just have some fun right now and go swim."

"Well, I don't exactly want to..."

"Why not?"

"Well... what if I had a cramp or something?"

"That wouldn't be a problem unless you've eaten anything recently."

"Well, maybe I have." Neptune said in a higher pictched tone than normal.

"What could you have eaten in the past hour?" Blake asked.

"Gum." the pitch was still slightly higher.

"The edible sticks?"

"Of course, I'm not like those students who'd leave gum under their desks." Neptune's tone was pitched even higher now.

Before the conversation continued Sun and Yang went down to talk to them.

"Hey, you two. What exactly are you doing? Hop in the water, it's gonna stay cold as long as you don't get in." Yang stated.

"Well... I would... If I knew how to swim." Blake confessed.

"You're joking."

"Yep, I never learned how to swim."

"Well, this is a perfect time to teach you. Also, Neptune why haven't you changed?"

"Oh, I forgot to tell you that Neptune's afraid of Water." Sun said.

"HIS NAME IS LITERALLY NEPTUNE; HOW CAN HE BE AFRAID OF WATER!?" A random eavesdropper shouted.

"SHUT UP! IT'S RUDE TO LISTEN ON TO OTHER PEOPLE'S CONVERSATION, MUCH LESS INTERVIENE IN THEM WITHOUT THEM KNOWING!" Yang yelled.

"Yang, babe, calm down." Sun said.

"Sorry, I just got a bit carried away. Neptune, you could leave if you want."

And than Neptune just sprinted out the door. He ran across the room and went toward the exit. He didn't do it instantly like a cartoon, rather he just ran at his fastest speed. He's not really fast, but he does admit that he's generally faster than Weiss' running speed. Yet again, that's unfair considering she's wearing heels. Sure, Blake does. But she can walk on her toes. And Blake doubts that Weiss could.

"As for you, get a life-jacket on. We're teaching you how to swim." Yang stated.

"Careful there, you know they say cats don't like water." Sun joked.

Yang laughed. "I love you, sun." She stated. "But seriously, we're going to teach you to swim."

"Looks like, I have no way to talk your way out of it?" Blake asked.

"Nope, now get in the water."

Blake went and got a life jacket. And than went into the deep part of the pool. Blake went in and was pushed in by Yang, ended up being splashed by the water. She felt the cold water and it felt freezing to her. The only thing keeping her from being sunk into the bottom was the lifejacket.

"Don't worry, it won't feel as cold the more you stay in it." Yang consoled.

"Okay, what do I do?" Blake asked.

"Paddle your arms and kick your legs."

"Okay?"

Blake tried to do as Yang instructed. But she ended up splashing the water instead.

Yang sighed. "Let me show you." she said, diving into the water and swimming in the freestyle swimming pattern, across the pool moving her arms were paddling graciously across the water. Her legs were kicking in a synchronized pattern. She was also putting her head in and out of the water to breathe. She was an expert at this. As soon as she reached the other end of the pool she got out of the water.

"Now you try." She stated.

Blake, trying to copy the movements of Yang, with her belly in the water laying down... proceeded to start paddling her arms, and than kick her legs, it wasn't as well coordinated as Yang's swimming, but it moves her across the water, but slower... even though she's paddling and kick faster. She has a bit of trouble with moving her head while paddling, but she managed to get by.

"Good, although Freestyle's a bit harder for novices... I'll be showing you Butterfly." Yang said.

Character Change: Blake Belladonna - Ruby Rose

Beacon Academy, 1:13 PM (Daylight Warning), Wednesday, RWBY Dormitory

Ruby was sleeping like the dead... until she felt something licking her face... Ruby woke and opened her eyes only to find it was Zwei.

"Augh, Zwei... I'm trying to sleep." Ruby complained.

The Dog was barking. From the sound of it, he sounds hungry. Thankfully Zwei knows Ruby isn't actually dead. Otherwise, she'd be covered in Bite marks.

Ruby got up and went to feed Zwei. The Dog was going through the food quickly. And it also sounds like he needs to go for a walk. She than looks for Weiss. Ruby finds Weiss in the living room watching television. She went up to ask her something.

"Hey, Weiss? Could you take Zwei out for a walk? I'd do it myself... but... y'know." Ruby stated

"You want me to walk the dog?" Weiss asked.

"Ya, why?"

"Your girlfriend wants me to look after you. I'm surprised you're up."

"Aww... Blake cares about me. Where is she, by the way?"

"She's somewhere with Yang and Sun."

"Oh. I see. But you're the only one who could walk the dog here."

"I'm not walking the dog, but I'll know someone who'd will."

Weiss than got up and left the door and knocked on JNPR's dorm. Jaune appeared to answer it.

"Can you take Zwei on a walk?" Weiss asked.

"Uhhh... why?" Jaune asked.

"He's a dog and dogs need to go on walks."

"Why can't you do it? Or Ruby?"

"Ruby's asleep, as mentioned, and I don't want to walk outside with a dog right now."

"Isn't Ruby right there?" Jaune asked, pointing at Ruby who is standing across from him.

"If you do it, I'll go on a date with you." Weiss offered.

"Deal."

"Good. Ruby, can you leash Zwei and give it to Jaune?"

Ruby sighed and went and got Zwei on a leash. She also went and grabbed an old plastic bag. And proceded to walk Zwei to Jaune and gave the plastic bag to Jaune. "Make sure you clean up whatever mess he leaves." She said, giving the leash to Jaune.

"Riiight, gotchia." Jaune said, walking outside.

"Well... now I have to schedule a date with Jaune tomorrow." Weiss said in reluctance.

"I know you want this." Ruby teased.

"I do... it's just Jaune's a bit very... improper. He's fine everywhere else, he's just a bit on the lowbrow side."

"Don't worry, I'll be calling Blake to help him when she comes back. As for you, you really need to lower your standards a bit."

"Why exactly?"

"Well... given that you occasionally spend your off time lounging and watching TV, you really don't get to call Jaune 'lowbrow'."

"Thank you for reminding me I have a show to watch." Weiss said, going back to lounge on the couch and watched TV.

This is going to take awhile. Normally, I'd go back to sleep. But I honestly don't want Weiss to screw over her date with Jaune. And even than, after sundown, I'd have to meet up with the Duke's White Fang contact. I really have my work cut out for me. Not to mention classes resume tomorrow. Well... this is going to be an interesting week.

Author's Footnote: I decided to do some more light-hearted stuff this chapter. But don't worry, the action will be next chapter. I wanted to get the Jaune and Weiss relationship start up... but I don't want to rush it... so I figured... this would do. Sure, it's not the best way, but it'll do. And I haven't forgot about the Blackout at the start of the work, just that we're still trying to figure out who exactly is responsible. But, if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. Leave them in the reviews and see ya next chapter.
