End of main character status report.

City of Vale, 7:44 PM, Wednesday, Industrial District

Ruby was heading to the industrial district, since chances are the contact in the White Fang would most likely be there.

Before doing so... she had an interesting afternoon... When Blake and Yang showed up, apparently the two of them went swimming with Sun. And Ruby learned that Blake never knew how to swim... Although that doesn't explain why Blake was wearing one of Ruby's swimming outfits. She knows it's hers because she'd know her own swimwear. She than told Blake that she'd need to help Jaune with his date with Weiss, like how Ruby would be helping Weiss. The three of them were having various topic discussions, which than Ruby made the three of them food and headed out.

Now Ruby's here in White Fang territory. Doing a task for someone she wants nothing to do with, because she needs makeup work for that failing grade that she got from Mountain Glenn. Ruby went around looking for the contact. Well... until someone was trying to get into her attention.

"Pssst... kid, come here." The individual said.

Ruby walked toward them, if they weren't the contact, Ruby has Slice of Life and would deal with them swiftly, but not fatally. And that's assuming they are a creep. She wanted to mix things up and use her other weapon, and besides, Slice of Life needs a field test, after all. But she did walk toward the individual that got Ruby's attention, which is going against everything she was taught.

"Ah, so you're the Duke's new agent. You look familiar by the way." The individual said. They were wearing a full White Fang uniform, the only thing telling them apart from other White Fang mooks was the vampire fangs and the veins around them.

Ruby nodded. She really doesn't feel like talking to any of the Duke's associates.

"I figured you'd be more of a talker. But anyways, we're here for the task at hand. The operation in mountain glenn was a bust. The Duke would be happy to hear about that. Don't want Atlas mechs popping up." The contact said.

Ruby titled her head in confusion.

"Forgot about the new one. Atlassian mechs have a mechanism that has them target at anything with grimm. Including vampires, like you and me." They spoke.

Ruby nodded.

"However, since that failure, the White Fang has increased it's presence in the Industrial district and downtown twofold. Chances are, they are looking for the Hideout." They stated.

Ruby nodded and rotated her hand.

"So, your task will be creating a diversion from finding the hideout. Do not report to the Duke, I'll give him whatever info you got from Ozpin. Anything to be said?" The contact asked.

Ruby nodded 'no'. If it's not directly to the Duke, it'd be wasting her time. Even if Ozpin told her to tell him that thing. She doesn't even know what it means.

"Figures. The Headmaster of Beacon was always one that's wary of vampires, and likely knows you are one. Just be careful around Beacon. So... create the diversion already, I'll be heading back to the hideout." They said, before leaving.

Ruby's been tasked with creating a diversion for the vampires... if she doesn't, it'd look suspicious. If she does... well, not like the headmaster would care for them... but Ruby won't kill them. She has her standards. She can't betray her morals... again. She can't give in.

Ruby had an Idea, what if she put on a disguise and triggered an alarm? That would be a lot more clever and much more morally intact than trying to use her powers to cause a scene.

She waited until she found a White Fang mook her size was alone by themselves... and knocked them out and stripped them. Ruby used her rocket locker to store her original clothing and had it launched back to Beacon. There she is... alone in an alleyway, changing into someone else's clothes. Well, there's a first for everything.

After she got the uniform on, she proceeded to carefully walk into the White Fang warehouse. So far, it looks like she's not drawing any attention from anyone. Although some people are looking at her, they just shrug it and get it over with. Hopefully, she doesn't encounter that Ice cream girl... things typically don't end well whenever Ruby's around her. First, she had to flee because she signed something offensive apparently, then the girl had used sun lamps to trigger Feral Ruby.

It seems whenever Ruby's around the White Fang, the Ice cream girl is around her... although she never got a name. But it matters little, Ruby had a to create a diversion without sparking up negativity across the non-White Fang populace.

Ruby had seen Roman and his little Ice Cream girl friend, although they did not notice her. It didn't take long until she found a Fire alarm. Since her hand is fully covered, any goop that would cover her up would be covered by the clothes. She pulled the fire alarm aaand...

RRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING

Ruby should get out of the scene before she gets caught. Although to justify the fire alarm going off... she'd need to find an excuse for Ruby to not get caught. She loaded one of the steel discs onto slice of life and loaded up a fire dust round... and fired the disc onto the warehouse, setting it on fire. The blade quickly returned to the Pizza-Cutter.

Way to go Ruby, you're an arsonist now. Are you proud of yourself now?

Ruby was not proud of herself. In fact, she was getting out of there, with Slice of Life of course, one would advise against carrying the weapon used to commit crimes, but she spent an entire week making this, she is not throwing it away. She blitzed out of there and jumped into the water, but quickly turned into bird form to fly out of the scene of the arson, she does not need to be there for the aftermath.

City of Vale, 8:23 PM, Wednesday, Downtown

Ruby landed herself on a rooftop and went back to human form to catch a breath... wait... why is she doing that? Vampires can't get tired. Guess she feels emotionally drained right now. And for good reason, she just set off an alarm... and commited arson. And Ruby feels guilty for doing so... even if it was owned by the White Fang.

Although Ruby would have to quit sulking. That, and she's a bit too young to drink... alcohol, she just has to stay strong.

Although she did see a couple of White Fang mooks heading down and mugging some poor citizen. Guess Ruby would have to play vigilante. Ruby went on to prepare to snipe the white fang mooks. Now she can actually test out the weapon in this field. She gave the weapon a couple of upgrades in class. Like one that would let her set the speed frequency of the blade launcher. She has it set to low when firing it, mid-low when using it as a melee weapon. She also made sure that her sharp weapons are set to stun, not kill. Modern weapons have this feature to avoid any accidental killings.

She had fired the weapon... and...

SCHLING!

The blade disc went through and knocked out all three White Fang mooks at once. Ruby had set it to low... anything higher than medium would guarantee a kill just from the intensity of the blade. Thankfully she knows the difference between a KO and a kill when she sees it.

The civilian fled the scene and Ruby had jumped down to get a drink, and to make sure the mooks are not dead. Better safe than sorry. And thankfully, the stun mode had ensured that the mooks had only been knocked out, not dead. Well, now she can have something to drink.

She drank till she was full... the mook she drank from is still alive from... but chances are they'd have void grimm... well, at least now that the White Fang's food supply would receive a decline... not sure if Ruby should be happy about that though.

But no matter Ruby's full and her aura's back up to 100%, which is good because classes are going to be resuming. And they'd be annoying to deal with. But Ruby would prefer classes to what she had done back in the Industrial district. Thankfully, with her team knowing, she could have an easier time hiding it... or the lips would be loosened and everyone would know. Ruby hopes the latter isn't the case. Although relations with Weiss and Yang are bit more strained, although they still are friendly with her. But Ruby's not sure if it's out of respect of her leadership, or fear of her vampirism. And Ruby's relieved for that. The reason why Blake was more supportive because she's going through a similar thing, hiding her faunashood out of fear being seen as 'what she is'. Ruby is doing that too, and the fact that the existence of vampirism isn't exactly common knowledge.

But for now, Ruby just raised her bandana and changed to bird form. She just wanted to report her tasks to the Headmaster ASAP and just get the day over with. Hopefully she doesn't get in too much trouble for starting a fire.

Beacon Academy, 8:44 PM, Wednesday, Ozpin's Office

Ruby flew into the Headmaster's window and crashed. Ozpin heard the crash and had opened the window. And let Ruby in. She than went back to her human form.

"Guessing by the way you're dressed; I'm guessing you have something to report?" Ozpin asked.

"Two things." Ruby stated.

"Oh?"

"Well, one. The White Fang has increased their activity over Downtown Vale, and the Industrial district since our mission in Mountain Glenn. The contact said they're looking for the clan hideout."

"And you said it's in the catacombs?"

"Correct. Also, the contact was a vampire themselves. So, chances are they're not a double agent loyal to the White Fang."

"Oh, and the second thing."

"I was told to create a diversion... so I set off an alarm in one of their warehouses... and started a fire..."

"While I applaud you for not causing a scene that would scare everyone, I don't recommend that you should actually start fires, Miss Rose. Let's just hope no one finds out that you were there."

"My apologies, I just didn't want to get caught, that's all."

"I understand Miss Rose, but let's get back on topic. Have you met with the Duke tonight?"

"Nope, I was told not to report directly to the hideout. Infact, I was referred to as 'Field Agent'."

"I see... well it makes sense, being that you have aura, something most vampires don't have."

"So... now what do I do?"

"Continue meeting with the contact, don't try and start an incident like earlier. I'll be upping your grade up in training missions. I'll be forgiving you this time, just don't start fires again. You may go."

"Thank you, headmaster." Ruby said, heading to the elevator. Although she felt her hair being plucked. It appears Ozpin had removed a string of Ruby's hair.

"Ow!" Ruby yelled.

"My apologies, Miss Rose. I just don't want the Atlassian mechs and machines targeting you now, would I?" Ozpin stated.

"Fair point." Ruby said, with that one particular hair string growing back on her head.

Ruby went down from the elevator and proceeded to head back to her dorm.

Beacon Academy, 9:03 PM, Wednesday, RWBY Dormitory

Ruby had just entered the dorm. She had sat down on the couch, and she noticed that Weiss was still there.

"Hey! Get off!" Weiss yelled.

"Oops. Sorry, I just had a rough night." Ruby said, getting off the couch.

Weiss got up as well. She apparently is heading out to the shower.

Ruby on the other hand just sat back down on the couch, now without anyone else on it. She needed to sit on something comfortable since she needed to relax and have to think about any round abouts incase she has to do anything for the vampires.

Ruby was just lounging... but still sitting but not laying down on the couch. Blake did walk in the room with her pajamas on.

"You're back early." Blake stated.

"Well, I didn't need to be on this task for long, thank goodness." Ruby said.

"So... what's with the Outfit?"

"Oh... I had to create a diversion for the White Fang."

"What for?"

"Can't tell, secret mission. But I can tell you it's related to my vampirism."

"Ruby, you can tell me. I'll still love you so as long as you keep your promise..."

"Well... I set a white fang warehouse on fire..."

"Well, I can't criticize you... considering that I've committed arson a couple of times on the SDC with Adam."

"Oh... do tell."

"Well... Ruby, it started like this..."

Character Change: Ruby Rose - Blake Belladonna (Age 13)

SDC Atlassian Industrial Complex, 18:00 PM, 4 years ago, Dust Refineries

'You know know by now that I used to be in the White Fang, right? Well, I was born into the organization, even when it was a peaceful organization. I went into every boycotting, protest, and rally as a kid. Well, five years ago, the previous leader had stepped down and a new leader took front with a new approach, one that prefers violent methods over pacifism. Peaceful protests turned into riots, boycotts turned into destroying businesses, although the rallies remained sort of the same. The White Fang went from the peaceful organization to represent it, to a bunch of thugs that force people to fear it.'

'Like the White Fang we deal with now?'

'Sort of, but the current status of Vale's White Fang is not relevant to the story I am telling.'

'Oh, sorry Blake. You can continue.'

'So, you know as well as I do that, I haven't had the cleanest past.'

The Schnee Dust company is the largest business and corporation that provides dust across the common populace. Most dust provided by militaries and huntsmen have came from the SDC. The same company, lead by Jacques Schnee (formerly known as Jacques Proulx), who has an initial disdain towards faunas, and has ignored any basic rights laws to any faunas, using them as slaves, despite slavery being illegal in all four kingdoms. This makes the SDC a common target for the White Fang attacks. Their defense army consists from mercenaries and officially hired guards to retired mechs and rogue huntsmen. It mostly depends on the priority of the target.

The Atlassian Dust Refineries take raw and mined dust and convert them into crystal and powder used by the military and huntsmen, along as a power source for pretty much all of remnant. It is large, consisting of multiple stories and smoke chambers. And that's just one building. There are multiple buildings, some are refineries, some store raw dust, others processed dust. The reason for refinery is because raw dust is highly explosive, and unstable. If one throws a raw dust crystal, it will explode.

Thirteen-year-old Blake didn't have her semblance unlocked at the time, nor did she have gambrol shroud. She instead had a civilian-grade handgun and a knife. Sixteen-year-old Adam had only recently unlocked his semblance, but did not have his iconic weapon yet, instead used a regular katana, along with a sawed-off shotgun. Both of them at the time were wearing low-ranked White Fang Mook uniforms and armor, despite both of them having their aura unlocked by a rogue huntsman.

The two of them head into the largest building. Of course, when they entered it, they were surprised that everyone there was already dead. It turns out a grimm has attacked the place.

"We should investigate." Adam ordered.

"Wait, why?" Blake asked with fearful tone.

"We don't want a grimm to follow us back to the camp."

"Oohh... right."

Blake was a lot more hesitant back than. Didn't exactly have the fighter's spirit in her, especially since this was her first operation and already, she's expected to fight grimm. So, she's a bit scared, thankfully she has Adam... who's a lot more experienced in this stuff. Well... by a whole year in fairness. It has only been one year since Sienna Khan became leader of the White Fang. And Blake was honestly unsure about the direction the White Fang are going. But it's honestly the only path she thought she could follow.

The two of them were wondering around the facility to find that grimm, and kill it. Although Blake was staying close to Adam, she's never had any combat experience or training at this age. The number of dead bodies would be traumatizing, but surprisingly there's almost no blood for the size of those claw marks. Which would be a relief.

Eventually at the end of the trail of dead bodies, the two of them found the grimm...

The grimm looked psuedo-humanoid, human in shape, but the back was hunched, the ears were pointed, had wings, the hands were like claws and feet were talons. It was black with various white grimm armor plating across the non-jointed areas of the body. It's teeth were like claws. And it's eyes were glowing red. The grimm had... goat horns. Which surprisingly doesn't cancel out the scariness factor from the rest of the grimm.

The unknown grimm immediately looked at the two faunas and roared. The grimm than attacked them. Adam managed to block the attack.

"Get back, attack it from a range." Adam ordered.

"O-okay." Blake complied, going away from Adam and the grimm, and preparing to fire the gun at the grimm. The bullets seem to pierce the armor, but the grimm doesn't flinch.

The grimm prepared for another attack, which Adam had blocked, and took damage. The grimm is tough and unrelenting, yet again, the two of them never fought a grimm before. Adam was on the defensive, and can't risk going on the offensive.

The grimm roared again, and changed it's target to Blake, she tried to dodge the attack, and than she saw a duplicate of herself getting clawed by the grimm. Blake continued to the Flee from the grimm. Eventually leading to a series of raw dust crystals into a room. Blake was firing her gun at the grimm, not no effort. She eventually ran out of ammo, thankfully... there was a combat rifle nearby. She picked that up and fired a round, not knowing it was loaded with fire-dust rounds, the size of the gun and improper training made her miss the shots, and eventually started a fire. Thankfully the grimm was caught onto the fire. The grimm screamed in pain, but still continued to chase after Blake.

Blake had to flee from the fire she started. Considering she can't go back from the way she came, and that she's now running from a grimm that's on fire. Not to mention if she doesn't hurry, she'd die in the dust explosion.

The young cat faunas used one of the raw dust crystals as a grenade to create a pathway out. She ran as fast as she could to escape the grimm. She rolled out of the room... and eventually found an emergency exit... she quickly escaped the building... and heard a series of explosions. Which tore down half of the facility... the rest of the building eventually caught fire. Blake was tired... and hoped that Adam was okay.

'We were tasked to raid and blow a up a dust refinery, which was my first assignment since Sienna Khan took control, I didn't have any combat training until then. I really can't say why right now. We found bodies... dead, but minus the blood. I'm surprised I'm mentally healthy from an experience from that. Eventually we found a grimm. It was humanoid. I think it may have been a vampire that had went feral, possibly an old one. The grimminitially attacked Adam, I tried to help by shooting it, but it went after me. It was actually how I unlocked my semblance funnily enough. Trying to avoid getting killed by a grimmand all.

I eventually was traced into the raw dust room. I tried to use a gun that was too advanced for my training, I missed the shot... and caught the room on fire... I hesitated and used a raw dust crystal as a grenade to escape the building... which than exploded and caught on fire. I was tired and passed out. I than woke up in the camp with Adam. After that, Adam trained me how to fight, and you know the rest.'

Character Change: Blake Belladonna (Age 13) - Ruby Rose

Beacon Academy, 9:10 PM, Wednesday, RWBY Dormitory

"That was... an interesting story." Ruby said.

"Glad you think so." Blake said. "I've honestly never shared anything about my past to someone other than you."

"Well. I appreciate the trust you put into me... maybe I can trust you with this... even though the headmaster said not to trust anyone."

"Oh... do tell."

"I was told by the headmaster to work as a double agent, doing things for the head vampire of Vale."

"Well... I can see why that secret needs to be kept."

"I don't want you to intervene, but I will tell you everything I did."

"What did you do yesterday?"

"I had to enthrall someone, thankfully headmaster Ozpin provided me with a serial killer convict."

"Well... you still took someone's free thought away."

"Yes, I know... and I feel horrible for that."

"I can't judge you; I've done horrible in my life, just make sure you make sure you don't give into the darkness, like Adam did."

"I know, I intend to keep my promise, because I love you Blake."

"I love you too, Ruby."

The two of them wrapped their arms each other and did a brief smooch. Ruby felt happy that she can spend some time with her girlfriend.

"This is nice." Ruby said in a slightly happy tone.

"I agree." Blake responded.

"I just want to do this more often."

"Too bad we only have a small window of time that we can both be up. Not to mention Headmaster Ozpin keeping you busy."

"I'd love to skip out on it, but I'd need a 'C' in Training missions before I can."

"Well, hopefully that work for headmaster Ozpin can bump your grades back up."

"Thank you, now can you let me give you a kiss?"

"Sure, Ruby."

Ruby went and kissed Blake again, it was longer, still no tongue though, but the two liked the kiss. The two spent the next half hour with each other, sitting with their arms around together... they weren't exactly cuddling. But it was nice. Blake eventually got up to go to bed. Since she needs to sleep. Ruby enjoyed spending time with Blake, even if it was thirty minutes.

She waited until the rest of her team was asleep to tuck them in. Ruby can't sleep because of classes in the day, so may as well make her teammate's sleep much more comfortable. Vampire or not, she's their leader, got to make sure she's doing her part to keep the team together. Although getting at least a 'C' in training missions would help. Which means her team would be passing the grading requirements to participate in the Vytal tournament. Assuming that the rest of her team also got the minimum score requirements.

Ruby on the other hand. Was up, browsing on her scroll, headphones on. She's up all night, and it's quite boring to do so by herself. Perhaps she should visit the workshop before preparing her team's breakfast.

Author's Footnote: I'll end the chapter here, and I had a couple of double takes on this chapter, tried to not exactly break character just to advance the plot. I went and did another backstory, did one centered around Blake and one without Ruby this time. And we will be expecting a more double agenting, along with classes within the next few chapters. I also wanted to have Ruby use her other weapon for once, the one that was built earlier in the story? you thought I forgot? No, I didn't. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. Leave them in the reviews and see you next chapter.
