Character Change: Ruby Rose - Jaune Arc
Beacon Academy, 6:30 PM, Wednesday, JNPR Dorm
Jaune had a rough day cleaning and all, but now he's got a date with Weiss now that he has walked the dog. Thankfully parks provide baggies for disposal of dog waste. Which Jaune is grateful for, since he really needed to go...
But no matter, after that, he returned the dog to team RWBY. Do the school dorms even allow pets? And how did they even get a dog here? Through the mail? How could the dog even fit through the mail? There are unanswered questions, but sometimes Jaune likely doesn't even want to know the answers.
But anyways, with all of that, Jaune can get back into the investigation with a report with Blake. She said Ruby had to do something for Ozpin so she couldn't come. Blake came into the dorm with knowledge from mountain glenn, hopefully it's good news.
"Did you pick up anything from the White Fang?" Jaune asked.
"Nope, the White Fang had nothing to do with the blackout surprisingly." Blake said.
"Well... that's a shame. Which means the only suspects would be students in Beacon Academy." Jaune said.
"Well... at least we have an idea of who our perp is. We just need to find some sort of motive for it."
"What could a student gain from sabotaging their own school, clearly not for equal rights since the White Fang had nothing to do with it. So, chances are the perp is not a faunas."
"But night vision could be helpful for dealing with the blackout."
"That's true. And you said that nobody bought or sold one in a while, so chances are, it's still in the School grounds."
"So... a student or teacher just has one hidden somewhere?"
"It's the most likely chance."
"Do you have any suspects?" Blake asked.
"Well... there's Penny, but I'd rule her out because she was absent during the entire blackout." Jaune said.
"Anyone else?"
"Well... I think Ruby could be an accomplice."
"What? Why?"
"Given that she's up all night, chances are she's meeting with the actual accomplice, but I really don't see her doing all of that."
"I've been with Ruby almost all of those times since the Blackout. She really can't be the perp."
"Well, guess I'm stomped. I ruled out Coco because she didn't even know what a Dust Capacitor was."
"Do we even know what it looks like?"
"No, we do not."
"So... we're looking for someone who stole something that we don't even know what it looks like?"
"Yep... What about the third year, wasn't he your chaperone on your mission?"
"How did you know about that?"
"Eh... word gets around."
"I doubt he'd gain anything from stealing a dust capacitor. Although it's quite suspicious he's the only third year student..."
"Yeah... So, we don't really have any valid motive and our only major suspect is that he's the only one in his class."
"Well... looks like we got our work cut out for us, Jaune. Where's the rest of the team?"
"Oh, Nora and Ren are at an Arcade, they brought Magnhild with them."
"Oh."
"Ya... chances are things are not going to end well."
"And Pyrrha?"
"I don't know, like... since after the Blackout she's been very distant."
"She did interrupt you when you were eavesdropping."
"Well, that was like one time."
"That is weird though. She also was at the Opera two Saturdays ago."
"Huh, that explains the ticket."
"Well... that is weird."
"Well... I think you can go now."
"Wait, not yet."
"What do you mean?"
"You have a date with Weiss tomorrow, I need to get you to minimum classy girl requirements." Blake said, texting on her scroll. "We'll be going to the ball room."
"Okay... why are we going to the ballroom?"
"The dorm is not large enough for your lessons, Yang also said it's more convenient..."
"That's why she's there?"
"That, and she has all the stuff we need."
"I have seven sisters; I think I'd know how to treat a girl."
"Weiss is not like your sisters; she's raised in a rich family and has high standards."
"Okay, and? I don't need lessons. I'm pretty sure I got this."
"Just go to the ballroom. We've had the whole thing set up for this."
"Alright, fine."
The two of them had left the dorm. And closed the door... although Jaune wasn't looking where he was going because he tripped and fell down intront of one of the haven students. He had grey hair... grey eyes, and was wearing track pants and a grey and blue jacket.
"Do you need a hand?" the man asked.
"No, sorry... I just needed to know where I'm going." Jaune stated.
"Well, you need to watch your step than."
"Wait... I think I recognize you. You were in detention last Wednesday."
"Yes, I was. Mercury Black, by the way."
"Jaune Arc."
"What are you guys doing?"
"Oh, we're going to a ballroom to help me improve my romance skills."
"Okay... I'll just be going... that way now."
"Nice to meet you!"
"Yeah... nice to meet you too." Mercury said in a strained tone... walking away from Jaune and Blake.
"He... seemed, interesting." Blake said, sounding confused.
"Well, let's just get to the ballroom now." Jaune said in an impatient tone.
"Right."
Beacon Academy, 6:40 PM, Wednesday, Beacon Ballroom
The Beacon Ballroom was where Jaune and the other first year students had slept before initiation. Not sure why this wasn't used for the dance, and the school rented the observatory in central park instead, but the night was enjoyable too bad he couldn't afford a DJ at the dance and the music was quiet, other than that, it was good. The ballroom is wide with a set of bathrooms and a balcony as the second floor. It is also the closest building in Beacon to the youngest flight of stairs to the main city of Vale.
Yang was there with an array of props. Likely for the lessons Blake's going to give Jaune. Guess that means Ruby's helping Weiss or something? He has no idea what is in store for him. So, he's not sure what he's prepared for.
Blake had walked back into the ballroom... wearing a White Wig over her hair, wearing blue contact lenses, wearing a blue and white dress, and blue heels. She sort of resembles what appears to be an older-looking Weiss. Although Weiss is seventeen, so it's not a very accurate statement. He doesn't have the words for it, but Jaune knows this is just Blake.
"What's with the outfit?" Jaune asked.
"This is to help you not embarrass yourself when on your date with Weiss. So, I'll be acting as her for this session." Blake stated in a serious tone.
"So... what do I do?"
"Simple. You'll have to seduce me."
"What?"
"I'm the one whose taken acting classes, and we only have one shot at this. So, you'll have to flirt with me."
"Uhh... okay..." Jaune uttered, trying to get confident. He grabbed the boquet of daisies... inhaled and exhaled.
"Would you like some flowers?" Jaune asked, offering the boquet to 'Weiss'.
Blake slapped Jaune and imitated an angry face. "Daisies? Do you think I'm just your average drive-thru lady? I am a woman! I have class!" Blake shouted, imitating Weiss' voice.
"Ow... what's wrong with Daisies?" Jaune asked.
"Weiss wouldn't like cheap flowers. Even if she slumming it with commoners such as us." Blake lectured.
"Well, I didn't really check on what flowers they were."
"Before we continue, tell me what exactly do you plan on taking Weiss tomorrow?" Blake asked.
"Somewhere to eat?"
"Well... table manners it is. We only have an hour and half to cover before this wig kills me. Figuratively."
Jaune had properly seated Blake like a gentleman, although Blake might be grateful, she's acting like she isn't. Jaune's not actually sure if she's in-character or not. In front of them there is a set of silverware and a plate. There are two forks of various sizes. One of them is larger than the other. Both of them are pretty much identical other than that.
"Pick up a fork, and before you say anything, Yang had to tell me the difference between a salad and dinner fork." Blake stated.
"Which one do I pick up?" Jaune asked in curiosity.
"Salad fork."
Jaune had picked up the larger fork. Blake was looking at Jaune at a curiosity.
"And what makes you think that's the salad fork?" Blake asked.
"It could stab more of the salad?" Jaune guessed in a confused tone.
"Well, that's incorrect. The Salad fork is the smaller one, according to Yang."
"Wait, Yang. How do you know the difference?" Jaune asked.
"I looked it up, chances are not even Weiss would know." Yang said in a casual tone.
"Well, that was a pointless waste of time." Blake said.
"Says the faunas dressed as a Schnee." Yang said jokingly.
"This is to help Jaune get comfortable with all of this. Speaking of, you really need to work on your romantic dialogue."
"Oh... errr..." Jaune uttered.
"Jaune, you don't need to be all romantic and stuff immediately, not how romance works." Yang advised.
Jaune took Yang's advice and tried to come up with a regular conversation topic. Something that'd break the ice.
"So... how about the weather today?" Jaune attempted to ask 'Weiss'.
"What about the weather? You came here for me, not the weather." Blake said, imitating Weiss' voice. Holding her hand out in a way that she'd check for dirt.
Well, I'm off to a bad start. She really is good at imitating Weiss... or really bad at it.
Icebreakers won't work, since 'Weiss' would just overlook them. And offering gifts is off the table since Blake had said that Jaune doesn't know 'class'. Guess he'd have to get creative. Just inhales, get confident... and come up with something.
"I'm having quite a good time, are you?" Jaune asked 'Weiss'
"It's pretty mediocre, actually. I could think of much more ways to have fun." Blake stated, Imitating Weiss in an uptight tone.
The rest of the session was spent trying to get Jaune to try and successfully to get 'Weiss' having a good time. sadly, nothing. He even tried non-romantic conversation and Blake acted like Weiss wouldn't care. No matter how he tried or how creative he got, it seems that 'Weiss' won't budge. Let's just hope that the real Weiss isn't as snooty. As the failures are getting more awkward... Yang's been putting away stuff brought for this.
Blake took the wig off in defeat. "You know what? I give up. Sure, you know your manners, you just can't woo someone who's hard to please." She vented. "Yang, can you help me take these contacts off?"
"On it." Yang responded.
Yang and Blake had left to the bathroom. Meanwhile Jaune had just left the room. He felt this entire thing was pointless, wonder whose Idea was it. He knows that Weiss would be hard to please, but that show there is just ridiculous. But he can just handle it. And given that Weiss had offered the date, she wanted this. Even though it was more so of a bribe date to walk the dog. He doesn't even know what the dog's name is.
But no matter, the actual Weiss might be actually be easier to handle.
Beacon Academy, 10:30 AM, Thursday, Dust Studies (In session)
Thankfully no one Jaune knew got late for history class. But now it's time for Dust studies class.
Dust has its many functions and purposes, yes. Most notably for powering technology and being used for ammunition in place of gunpowder. Gunpowder in itself is less effective and less potent compared to dust. Gunpowder is commonly used in cheap civilian grade weapons, and grimm would simply shrug off bullets from gunpowder weapons, civilian grade weapons also have little effect against aura. Hence why insurgencies, military, huntsmen, and even civilians who could afford it would prefer to use dust. Since dust is a lot more potent and has a larger variety. Although Jaune already knew that and it's basically recap.
However, Jaune had none of that dust in his weapons. Because it's solely a melee weapon. Although he does notice crocea mors' shield is lighter in scabbard form for some reason, not really sure why. Just could be him though.
Well, most of the class is spent on learning about dust and its many features, essentially a glorified geology class, except solely focusing on dust and how it works. Mostly to prevent people from blowing themselves up all the time. It also teaches the many functions of dust.
But Jaune was just taking notes and deadly staring at the clock, because after this, he'll need to spend his lunch time cleaning up Oobleck's class, potentially more than just lunch. Well, that's what he gets for destroying a priceless artifact. Well at least until the Vytal tournament starts, mostly because Beacon needs to keep Pyrrha in fighting shape.
He does notice that Weiss is sitting next to him. Sure, there's no assigned seats, but typically team members seat with each other. Yet again, the two of them have a date. Jaune's thinking somewhere to eat, perhaps somewhere semi-fancy. Perhaps Jaune could dress up somewhat nice. And just hopes Blake's depiction of Weiss isn't 100% accurate.
Character Change: Jaune Arc - Ruby Rose
Beacon Academy, 1:01 PM (Daylight warning), Thursday, Interrogation room
Classes have resumed. Ruby has to be up at all hours, and has to endure and entire classroom's worth of boredom and stress. Sure, she doesn't need to be asleep, but however, being up for more than twenty-four hours can be disorienting... so she takes small naps before classes start and during lunch. Well, after Ruby has fed of course.
Ruby's currently biting down on the neck of her girlfriend, been awhile too. She's been a vampire for two weeks so she knows how to bite someone without making them feel pain. After getting the minimal amount of blood needed, Ruby had let go of her neck and kissed Blake, no tongue of course. It'd be nauseating for Blake to tongue kiss Ruby when her tongue is covered in blood. After the kiss the two steped back from each other.
"Honestly didn't expect a kiss after the bite." Blake commented.
"I just wanted to show appreciation for what you're doing." Ruby said amorously.
"It's a good way to show it than."
"Thank you."
"I'd love to chat with you more, Ruby. However, I got to head back and eat."
"Kay, have fun. I'll just be here taking a nap."
Ruby had sent her alarm to 1:30 PM and proceeded to take a brief nap. Being up for more than twenty-four hours can be disorienting. Sure, Ruby could just shrug it off and fight fine, but she really doesn't like her head hurting.
Beacon Academy, 3:55 PM (Daylight warning), Indoor Combat Arena
Ruby was about to do her tournament qualifications. It was against team CRDL like Pyrrha. Ruby had a set of rules, she can't use her semblance openly now because of the wilted rose petals. And she has to restrain her strength, more importantly, she can't get her aura below 50%. Sure, Ruby's been fed, but if her aura's getting low, 'Feral Ruby' would take over in attempt to save Ruby's life. So which means she needs to avoid attacks while striking precisely, with minimal use of her semblance and restraint of her vampiric strength.
She steps into the arena, with CDRL all waiting for her to approach. She has Crescent Rose in rifle mode. Her hand at the trigger. Only use scythe mode if needed. This would very easy considering almost all of CRDL uses exclusively melee weapons.
Like all qualifications, simple dust rounds only. Simple dust rounds are essentially similar to gunpowder rounds, only difference is that it uses a minimal amount of fire dust, essentially making it better than gunpowder and essentially the stock conventional ammunitions.
"BEGIN!" Glynda announced.
All four of them started charging at Ruby. Although she does not blitz, but waited. When Cardin was at swinging distance at Ruby, she jumped on Cardin's face, kicked back and fired a shot from her rifle Now that Ruby's in mid-air... she cocked her rifle again and took another shot keeping her airtime. She then went and changed to her weapon to it's scythe form. Ruby than took a revolving swing with the scythe and knocked back all of team CDRL at once.
They were still up though. And Ruby's now back on even ground. Skye started firing rounds through his cutlass pistol. It's a humble weapon, which Ruby can respect... if he could hit anything. Ruby's literally not moving and he is missing all his shots! Where did he learn to shoot? Actually, no. Ruby would prefer it if she didn't know.
After five seconds he ran out of ammo and started to charge towards Ruby. In which she carefully parried the attack and knocked him off balance, ringing him out.
One down three to go. Ruby had focused on dodging attacks right now. Simply to find a point of predictability. Cardin swings hard, not soft. And his balance is off, Ruby ducks down and sweep kicks Cardin's legs, knocking him down the floor. She than jumps and kicks on Russel's left shoulder to get her some airtime. In which she toggles rifle mode on Crescent Rose to shoot Russel and Dove down.
Ruby than lands stylishly, changes back to scythe mode and sweeps them all out of the Arena. Performing a triple ring out.
"Triple Ring out! The winner is Ruby Rose!" Glynda announced.
"Miss Rose, you have surely passed the combat qualifications. But do better on your training missions and only then will be able to participate in the tournament." Professor Goodwitch lectured.
"Thank you, professor goodwitch." Ruby stated humbly.
"As for you four, take some rest, you've helped people qualify for the tournament enough." The professor advised to CDRL.
"Thank you." Cardin said, with his team heading to the Men's locker room.
Ruby on the other hand was heading to the girl's locker room to change in one of the private rooms. She's modest and doesn't want people to see her in her underwear, even if it's another girl... she finds it a bit disturbing, even if it is her own sister Yang, or her girlfriend Blake. Maybe in a couple years she might be comfortable undressing in front of Blake, but that's in a few years, not today. Today she is in a private room in the locker room changing back into her school uniform.
After that, the rest of her team needs to work on their qualifications and everything would go well. Guess Ruby's upgrades have improved the performance of the weapons. Because she's seeing Weiss winning, yet again... it's against a bunch of students Ruby doesn't even know. But at least Weiss is winning one of her fights for once.
Blake was doing stunningly well. And Ruby thinks she looks as good as she fights. And she fights incredibly well. Her fighting skill is pretty high for someone whose only been fighting for four years. Meanwhile Ruby's been training since she was five. And there's Blake, fighting like a pro, guess she learned from experience. Being that she fights with such grace and notion with notable amounts of evasions and great use of her semblance.
Yang of course, was a lot more head front and straight forward. Using her gauntlets and punches. She's quite similar to a berserker, although she does need to work on her balance, and not just her physical balance. She relies on her semblance too much. Sure, using semblances are not banned, but hers is different, it's a literal temper tantrum. She gets angry and punches harder, it's pretty different from active, passive, or reactionary semblances, which aids the huntsman in combat. Whereas Yang's is more of a fallback
JNPR already went last week, Sure Jaune lost his, but he managed to qualify for the tournament. Losing is not a choice for Ruby, as it may trigger her feral grimm counterpart. Nora and Ren also managed to qualify, hopefully Ruby doesn't end up fighting them in the tournament.
But no less Ruby is confident that if she continues the tasks at hand. Let's just hope Blake managed get Jaune prepared for his date with Weiss. That, and she has to meet up with the White Fang contact and report to Ozpin.
Character Change: Ruby Rose - Jaune Arc
City of Vale, 7:30 PM, Thursday, Commercial District
Jaune was wearing slacks and a sweater vest, although he was still wearing his normal shoes. And he was sitting with Weiss in one of the outside tables. She is wearing something more casual for her tone, being that it's a simple plain Blue T-Shirt with a white jacket and a white skirt. She was also wearing sneakers and socks along with it. It's like she's wearing a Weiss-colored variation of one of Nora's outfit, except it's a bit more plain and prim. She's also wearing her hair down, although it's freshly brushed.
The restaurant wasn't one of those reservation ones, yet again, it's a place where one would expect to dress nice. Jaune had simply ordered his food, Weiss did as well. Now he had to break the ice.
"So... you're wearing something new." Jaune said, commenting on Weiss' change in attire.
"Is there anything wrong with me dressing like this?" Weiss asked.
"No no, it looks nice actually." Jaune rebutted, trying to avoid a drop.
"Thank you, I don't get to wear stuff like this very often." Weiss said in a casual tone. "My family has a reputation to uphold... or what's left of that reputation. So, my father usually prefers it if I wear formal wear almost all the time, so I don't have time to just relax and just... wear something comfortable. Well, until Ruby literally ordered me to relax before the second semester started. Since than, I actually kind of like it. It feels a lot less burdening."
"So, you prefer to dress down?"
"To be honest, yeah. But god forbid if Father doesn't find me dressing all fancy. On a related note, why are you dressing so fancy?"
"It's a date, so I figured I'd dress nice."
"Makes sense."
"I'm also guessing you don't get along with your father?"
"You could put it that way, he always objected me trying to aspire to my own goals. He thinks I should be a desk worker or on tech support for the SDC so I can manage it better when I inherit it."
"Wait, did you say inherit?"
"Yeah, it's a family company. My older sister Winter would be the heiress if not for father writing her out of the company's inheritance for joining the Atlassian military."
"Huh, what do you know. My Father's in the Atlassian military."
"Really, which branch?"
"The navy."
"Oh. Interesting, Atlas doesn't have much use of their navy other than long-distance transport and defending civilian ships."
"Ya... my father wanted to me to enlist in the Navy, but I wanted to be a huntsman. But they said that they're welcoming to have me back in case the 'huntsman thing' all fails."
"Wow, your parents really didn't have any faith in you."
"Yeah... not much of my family had any faith in me being a huntsman."
"Is there any that do?"
"Pretty sure my sister, Saffron would be proud of me. She's the second oldest child in the family."
"Who's the oldest?"
"Jade. She wanted to be a huntress and attend Atlas, but her arm got fractured in a White Fang attack."
"Oh my god."
"So... it quite inspired me to be one, so I could live on her dream. That, and I wanted to make a name for myself. And not just live in the family's shadow of being in the navy."
"What's Jade doing now?"
"She runs a vet clinic. Jade really likes pets."
"Good that she's doing something she likes. You said you have seven sisters?"
"Yep. Jade, Saffron, Fuchsia, and Holly are my older sisters. Olive, Burgundy, and Violet are my younger ones."
"Huh, interesting. Guess you spent a lot of time with them."
"Believe me, they wouldn't leave me alone. I had pig tails until I was ten."
Weiss was laughing. "Wow, your sisters really loved playing with your hair." She commented.
"Yep. That's the thing. They spent a lot of time with me. I found it annoying, but they're family so I don't hate them for it." Jaune said.
"Well, I just wish the same could be said for my family. I spent almost all of my time alone. My older sister, Winter had extra-curricular activities solely to spend time away from my Father. My younger brother, Whitley hides under his shadows just to be safe from him. My mother spent almost all her time at bars and the liquor cabinet just to drown out the sorrow my Father brings."
"Your Father doesn't sound like a good person."
"Given that he married into the Family, and dragged the reputation my Grandfather had built up down to the ground. In addition, he tried to sculpt me into the perfect little Idol for him. But given my time spent here, I learned that he was just trying to make sure I end up emulating his practices when he retires."
"Wow. I'm sorry."
"Don't be, you're not him. And he wouldn't apologize." She said, followed with a sigh. "Wow, that felt good to let out."
"Then I'm glad I'm helping you." Jaune commented in an awkward tone.
After that comment their food as arrived. Weiss ordered a vegetarian meal, although none of the tofu or the fake meat stuff. Guess she doesn't like the taste of meat? Well, whatever floats her boat. Jaune however, had a Medium-Well Steak with various sides.
The two of them were eating their meals. And so far, have been enjoying their time. After all, it's a simple date out eating food. Jaune was giggling to himself meanwhile.
"What's so funny?" Weiss asked.
"Oh nothing, just Blake had a practice date and even dressed and acted like you did back in the first semester. And wanted me to try and 'woo' her as practice for you." Jaune stated.
"Really? That's hilarious."
"She even had colored contact lenses and a wig and everything."
"Wow. They really think you'd mess up something this simple?"
"The best part, she acted like all snooty and hard to please. She even imitated your voice."
Weiss was bursting in laughter. "No way!" Weiss exclaimed.
"Yep. Although she was honestly trying to get me to woo her... dressed as you. Apparently, she thought you wouldn't like daisies." Jaune stated.
"What? I like daisies!"
"Really?"
"Yeah. They're a pretty simple, yet pretty design."
"Well, you should tell Blake that."
"Noted."
"On an unrelated note, you do know you're eating that with the salad fork, right?"
"Really? Huh. Usually someone would tell me which one is which."
"I only knew because Yang told me."
"How did Yang know?"
"She looked it up."
"Wow."
"I know."
"I'm having a great time right now."
"Same. This is just nice, just two friends, talking."
"Friends?"
"I mean, we're acting like friends right now."
"Oh. Ya, makes sense. I originally was going to think you're just going to be all super-romantic and stuff, I'm not really into that romantic stuff."
"Yeah... I was going to, but I felt like it'd be inappropriate at the first date."
"Tell that to Ruby and Blake. Apparently since the dance, they've started kissing each other."
"Well, whatever floats their boat."
"Okay than."
"On an unrelated note, you should try and dress down more often, I think it really fits you."
"Thank you, but I'll have to be wearing the dress in the arena, because my Father will be watching."
The two of them went on to discuss various topics for the rest of the date. Nothing super-romantic or romantic. They're just acting like friends. It is a classical first date, no kissing or any romance stuff like that. The date went on pretty well and their relationship pretty much improved as a whole. Guess Jaune walking a dog led out to a good friendship, perhaps it may become more.
Character Change: Jaune Arc - Ruby Rose
City of Vale, 7:30 PM, Thursday, Industrial District
Ruby went down and met with the contact in the White Fang. At the spot they were yesterday.
"Setting off an alarm and setting the warehouse on fire? Creative, but no casualties." The contact said.
Ruby tilted her head in confusion, not speaking a word.
"The Duke wanted casualties so the White Fang can focus on recovering, now they're double in size."
Ruby nodded.
"We don't know what exactly the White Fang want, but it's clear they have suddenly known about our presence since the Beacon Blackout."
Ruby titled her head in confusion, why did he mention the blackout?
"The blackout was impressive. Can't give you the details, but the orders from the Duke says the one who stole the dust capacitor has to keep it on them."
So... the perp still has the dust capacitor on them. Well, Ruby doesn't know what it looks like. So, she's stumped. And she really can't tell anyone this info since the source would reveal the existence of vampires, and that Ruby is one. But at least she knows that the vampires are responsible. She has to report this to the headmaster.
"So... your task is simple; you are to infiltrate to the new hideout and blow up the dust supplies, this should cripple the White Fang and keep them off us. There will be vampires that will assist you if things go sour."
Ruby nodded. But she can't go through with this plan. She'd end up being the cause of many deaths if she does.
Ruby than pretended to head out and and get a disguise. But in reality, she went in and reported back to Ozpin.
Beacon Academy, 7:55 PM, Thursday Ozpin's Office
Ruby flew into the window and crashed onto it, in which the headmaster had opened for Ruby. After going inside, she transformed back into her human form.
"You really need to learn how to spot glass in window form." Ozpin said in scolding tone.
"Sorry, I was just in a hurry." Ruby said.
"So... what do you have to tell me?"
"The vampires are responsible for the Blackout. And the perp who stole it still has the dust capacitor on them."
The headmaster looked surprised at the statement
"Well, it makes sense now." Ozpin stated.
"What? What makes sense?" Ruby asked.
"Well... I can't tell you exactly. Mostly because the information is not for your ears, even if you are among the few who know about vampires. There are some things I know that have to be kept in the dark, even from you, even from Mister Jasper."
"Why?"
"You'll know in time. I will inform your team when you graduate. But now is not the time."
"I-I understand."
"Anything else?"
"The vampires want me to blow up the White Fang dust supply."
"Well. We can't let you do that now, would we?"
"No sir."
"Good thing you went straight to me this time instead of causing a scene."
"So... what do I do?"
"Infiltrate the White Fang base, do not blow up the dust, rather warn them of an upcoming raid. They'll search for the Duke's vampires. And you can tell the Contact that they've spotted you and barely got out."
"Would that actually work?"
"Miss Rose. I've been at this for a long time. I should know when a plan of mine would work or not. This one would work certainly unless a third party involves themselves."
"Well. Okay. I'll be off now."
"Very well, try to keep casualties at a minimum."
"That's the plan."
Ruby changed back into bird mode and flew out the window. Hopefully Ozpin's plan would end up going well. Lives, whether good or bad are on the line.
