Chapter Two- Action
To his surprise, the threat wasn't behind him, he slowly turned and silently watched as a snow leopard slowly moved on top of a building. Upon closer inspection he could make out a sniper rifle in the mammals hands, he didn't do anything but watch as he saw the leopard take aim and after a few moments, a loud echoing shot was heard causing one of the targets to slump onto the ground.
Then, as if they appeared magically, one of the SWAT teams rushed into the churchyard and fighting soon ensued.
Still the SWAT team wasn't his main concern, the hostage was, as the bear began quietly and swiftly moving down the steps and in the background of the battle, one of the SWAT officers pointed at him and he began to take fire.
Just then, a polar bear came out with an MG3 machine gun and both him and the SWAT team were pinned down before long.
. . .
As Manson was getting fired at, Officers Nicholas Wild, Fangmyer and Mchorn were currently firing back at the enemy, being in Team 1 they were the first to see action. Although every possible thing had gone wrong until now, they were finally able to make a move to retrieve the hostage and find Rouen.
"There's someone trying to flank us!" Officer Fangmyer yelled, pointing at what appeared to be a grizzly bear huddled up behind a tree and a few bushes, in clear view of the trio. "What about the big guy?!" Nick yelled, fairly concerned about their current situation, "wait for him to reload and then shoot him!" Mchorn yelled as he kept an eye on the mystery figure beside them.
. . .
At the moment, Manson's main concern was finding a good position to fire a single burst at the raging polar bear but every time he thought it was good he was shot at, eventually even he grew impatient of it so he switched his weapons, wanting to resolve the battle in a single swoop, he cocked his other machine gun.
. . .
As two other assailants were taken out by Grizzoli, the trio suddenly halted as a sudden burst of machine gun fire came from behind the tree, the first burst hitting the polar bear thrice in the stomach then another in the head, as Mchorn moved closer to the mystery figure with his ballistic shield in hand, he had a clear shot of the machine gunner who, now resorted to one continuous fully automatic stream of rounds as he got into a crouching position and stopped firing.
It was then when the two locked eyes, the bear raised his hand saying four words "don't shoot! I'm blue!" As much as Mchorn wanted to lower his weapon he couldn't due to their current situation, suddenly the bear pulled the rhino down and yelled at him "hey! there's a sniper up there you muppet!" As he was pulled in front of the mammals face, Mchorn pointed to their own sniper, the snow leopard the bear had seen earlier.
Mchorn expected him to understand but he was given a wry laugh in response to his gesture "what team?" The officer asked "One" he responded noticing the lit cigar in the bear's mouth "Four" he said back before pointing at the church itself "your sniper have a clear shot of the other one?" Mchorn looked at the building with a worried look "I hope she does" the bear laid down and fired a burst at the criminals, downing about five, Mchorn did the same, firing his M240 at the group.
He was tugged on the shoulder "looks like missy sniper has got a problem" the bear said pointing at a maned wolf holding an RPG.
Manson looked at the rest of SWAT Team One and ran over to the trio of mammals, officer Grizzoli turned to the grizzly but didn't have an opportunity to speak "take out that bloody RPG or your sniper is dead!" The grizzly said crouching against cover "where the hell did you come from?!" Officer Wilde shouted "does that fucking matter?! Shoot that bastard!" The bear yelled with anger
. . .
Officer Grizzoli had a good shot on the maned wolf with the RPG, he aimed his M16 rifle at the wolf's head and hovered his paw over the trigger just as the wolf prepared to fire. With a single four round burst he watched the wolf fall to the ground next to the other attackers, Grizzoli looked beside him as the bear set his bipod on the concrete and fired a long burst of bullets at the remaining assailants.
Without any words, the grizzly officer stood up and got out of cover, beginning to dash across the churchyard with his machine gun in hand "don't just stand there! On me!" The officer said against the wall beside the church door.
As the maned wolf and their allies were suddenly dispatched, the snow leopard in the tower watched a grizzly bear dash over to the church door and look directly at her. He gave her a nod before Nick, Grizzoli and the others ran up beside him "who's that?!" She yelled in the radio before returning back to cover "John Price, he's with Team Four! Apparently the rest of team four is KIA . . ." "Or missing." An unfamiliar voice interrupted before continuing "there's as many of those bastards as I have bullets, my team was overwhelmed within the first hour" there was still another sniper firing on the snow leopard, watching every move she took.
"Well, glad you're here but . . . Ya know it'd really help if you found a way to get this fucker off my tail" She watched the grizzly bear look up at where the sniper was nested. A sound of frustration came from the radio "no shot, throwing a frag up there won't do a thing either, just try to cover our arse best you can" the leopard reloaded her rifle "it'll be tricky but I'll try" "the hostage is in there right?" Officer Grizzoli spoke "yeah, but we're pretty short on ammo" the lion said as he reloaded.
Frederick Manson looked at the various weapons on the ground, including the MG3, then looked at the rhino "hey big guy, that MG3's better than nothing" Mchorn looked down at the grizzly and at his machine gun, he too was running dangerously low on ammo "ya think so?" Price looked at him assuredly "trust me . . . Fox, cover the rhino while he gets it" Mchorn looked at Nick, who's eyes were widened from being called.
Nick stepped out from the line and aimed at the tower as the rhino dashed over to the machine gun and picked it up rather clumsily before running back to the team, as did Wilde.
Officer Grizzoli watched Price reach into his pocket and pull out a pack of cigars and a lighter. He watched as the grizzly took a cigar out, wedged it in his mouth and lit it before putting everything away. Officer Price looked at him and moved up, grabbing the door handle and speaking up "ready?" The question was met by multiple yeses from the team, he followed Price to the other end of the door "be ready to open fire immediately when we open this door" Grizzoli said as the captain of the team, before Price opened the door, swinging it open.
AN: Ooooooh suspense . . . Well, not really but ya know . . . Anyways! Manson just met the other main characters (Nick, Fangmeyer, Grizzoli, Delgato and Catherine Frost). I like the idea of having the skill gap between the SWAT team and Manson be kind of shone upon because it's basically one of the main things that separates him from Team 1. There's also the fact that he immediately takes the initiative and all that, there'll be some dynamics and whatnot moving on. Hope this is a good story so far for y'all, reviews are very appreciated.
