Author's Headnote: Now, We're at Volume 3. I decided to give the intro to Round One it's own chapter given it's difference from the rest of the episode, speaking of... this is that chapter. So, let's hop into it it.

Amity Colosseum, 10:00 AM (Daylight Warning), Tuesday, Amity Arena
Amity Colosseum, the most advanced combat arena on Remnant, which has been used to emulate Biomes and Atmospheres, simulating an actual battle. This makes it so that no two arena fights are alike. Well, save for the single fights. She's seen the thirty-ninth Vytal tournament on the television two years ago. Wonder what happened to the other Beacon students back in Mistral? The Arena has a Blue and white color complex, since it was made in Atlas. In addition, it can store an audience in the tens of thousands. It is projected up high with Gravity Dust.
It is the second day of the Vytal Tournament. Team CMSN and team CVFY have both gone up yesterday on the first day, both of them got pretty easy foes, they were pinned up against schools from the non-capital cities. But ya... any of the non-capital students usually end up in a hospital in the Vytal tournament, sure they're strong enough to qualify, but they sure aren't strong enough to win. However, team RWBY sure has this in the bag.
The randomizer had pinned her team against Haven's Team ABRN. The fight has not started yet.
Ruby was wearing one of her red-violet outfits, along with her bandanna. Weiss is wearing her combat dress, which she used to wear more often. But she decided to like wearing casual clothing more often. Maybe Yang and Ruby should take her shopping for some new combat clothes. She's also wearing her hair down. Blake and Yang were pretty much wearing the same clothes.

"Hello and welcome to the second day of the Vytal Festival, you're tuned into the Vytal Tournament. "Port announced.
"That's Right, Peter. Today is the second day of the fortieth Vytal Tournament." Oobleck announced.
"He's Bartholomew Oobleck, and I'm Peter Port!"
"And it's our job to teach the students of Beacon Academy and perform commentary on this years Vytal Tournament!"
"The Rules are simple. There are three types of battles, Teams, Doubles, and Singles!"
"Precisely in that order. The winners of the team battles move onto the doubles, in which the winners of the doubles move onto the singles. From there all the chosen combatants will be lined up at random, the winners of the initial bracket are than randomized again until the semi-finals."
"The fighters in the top three position earn a medal, and a carved tablet with all their team members engraved in it. The sole winner also receivesa trophy, and have their name and team be memorialized, and gives their school bragging rights for the next two years!"
"The Team fights have the biomes randomized half and half, for doubles, there is a biome for every corner of the arena, and for singles the biomes are removed and the reduced to a single platform."
"The rules are simple: get Aura down to a maximum of 15%, Do not attack a downed combatant, and most importantly no brutalities or fatalities!"
"Additionally, any Aura amplification and personal dust is forbidden as it could be enhanced, giving an unfair advantage. All Dust used must come from the Colosseum lockers, this way the only altered modifier between combatants is skill and knowledge."
"And I know we've been working hard to teach our students to fight."
"But these fights do not see School or Year, they see only skill. And right now, let's get onto the tournament. The randomizers have already selected the first matchup of the day, Team RWBY of Beacon Academy vs Team ABRN of Haven Academy."
"It's time for a... Vytal Tournament fight!"
Team RWBY vs Team ABRN
The two teams have stepped onto the arena. When they both reached the center platform, the biome randomizer started to generate the... biomes.
"Talk about starting off the Day with a Bang. Team RWBY's biome is the Volcano Biome, filled with lava and geysers alike." Oobleck announced.
"Don't you mean it started off with a YANG!? Huh, get it? Cause... Yang." Port announced.
Yang facepalmed when she heard that. "I make puns every now and than, but that's just bad. And I've made that one!" She stated.
"On the other side, Team ABRN's Biome is arctic glaciers, all Ice, no actual land. One giant glacier, hope no one uses fire dust there!" Oobleck announced.
"Indeed, it seems this fight's going to be a duel of fire and ice. Two polar opposite biomes, extreme temperatures which tends to lower aura passively." Port announced.
"Their leader is just a child? Well, this is going to be easy!" Reese Chloris said with a cocky attitude.
"Your team scored lowest of all the Haven teams that passed the Qualifier!" Neptune heckled.
"SHUT UP NEPTUNE!" Nadir Shiko yelled.
"You, specifically are the reason why it's the case!" Neptune specifically heckled.
"Neptune, can you stop giving information on us to our enemy team?" Bolin Hori asked.
"I would if you just learned to fight better!" Neptune heckled.
Port and Oobleck are just laughing from their booths upon this conversation. Soon, the entire crowd follows, the entire arena is bursting from laughter. It even catches onto the point where team RWBY caught the laughter and starting laughing. Thank goodness for the bandana otherwise the world would see her fangs. Although they're not laughing at Neptune's heckling, they're laughing at the fact that the scene is public and live, and is not just broadcasted across the major kingdoms, but every single corner of Remnant. Literally everyone is watching this!
Mid-chapter AN: So is everyone reading this fanfiction, and much, much more. Oh, and if you're still playing the music, you can stop now.
"Can you all please get on with the fight?" Arslan Atlan asked.
"You're asking to lose faster, than?" Neptune heckled.
"Don't let them bother you, Arslan. Besides, they're led by a kid. We've got this in the bag." Reese re-assured.
"She's in the top-ten of her year!" Neptune heckled.
"Neptune, you really are not helping!" Nadir stated.
"I know!" Neptune heckled.
"Ya, we got this." Yang taunted, still bursting in laughter.
Eventually the laughter calmed down and the announcer can focus on actually beginning the fight.
"Well, let's see if you're as good of a leader as you are a fighter." Arslan taunted Ruby, entering her fighting stance.
"I'd come up with a comeback, but Neptune beat me to it." Ruby countered, drawing Crescent Rose.
"So, you can't really come up with your comebacks?" Bolin taunted, drawing his blade-staff... which has a gun somewhere in it... maybe.
"Her bite is much worse than her bark." Weiss stated, drawing Myrtenaster.
"Is that so? Maybe it's to make up the lack of skills your team has?" Reese taunted, getting her hoverboard ready to use.
"Oh, trust me. We're very specialized." Blake countered, drawing Gambrol shroud.
"Prove it!" Nadir taunted, getting out an assault rifle with a bayonet strapped onto it.
"We're going to prove it alright. And, also, wow, Neptune was right about you, my sister was using that kind of weapon when she was FIVE!" Yang responded, and taunted, cocking Ember Celicia.

FIGHT!
Team ABRN makes the first strike, with Reese using her hoverboard to blitz Ruby, only for her to kick the board back across the arctic biome, Reese with it.
"Well, that's a terrible start for team ABRN, the first move already countered by the opposing leader's foot." Oobleck announced.
"She doesn't even have a weapon on there!" Port announced.
Yang went after Arslan, which means the two heavy fighters of each team are going to be busy tanking each other. Weiss went after Nadir and Reese. Blake is going after Bolin. Guess Ruby's going to be doing some aid between them.
She started by helping her girlfriend. Even without saying, they did the Ladybug routine, constantly slashing with a fast pace before Bolin could even react. The various slashes chop his aura bit by bit until he uses his bo staff to swing across, knocking both Ruby and Blake back.
"Well, would you look at that? People aren't doing one on one." Port announced.
"There is no precise rule against them doing that." Oobleck announced.
"I know, it's just very interesting to watch."
"Indeed. Being outnumbered is a disadvantage if one can overcome this, they truly are skilled. If not, it's an easy win for the other team."
"Quite like the beowulves and ursai, who typically attack in packs. To make up for their poor attack power or speed. They are simple foe by themselves, but a challenge in large numbers."
Weiss on the other-hand was being Blitzed from Reese's Hoverboard and being gunned down by Nadir... well being suppressed by Nadir, Nadir's not actually hitting Weiss, but if she moves at the wrong time, Weiss would be hit by a stray bullet. What makes this worse is that they're in the volcanic biome, so one wrong step could also mean either she'd be doused in lava or scalding hot water.
Glyphs take more concentration than one would think, and she doesn't want to use up all her dust on Nadir. So, out of a move of desperation, she took off her shoe and threw it at Nadir, in which he was knocked back by the impact. However, he was hit by a wall so he wasn't ringed out.
"If your aim was better, you wouldn't have had a shoe thrown in your face!" Neptune heckled.
"Shut up, Neptune!" Nadir yelled.
"Bart, you owe me 50 Lien." Port announced.
"I never really expected anyone to shoe someone in the Vytal tournament." Oobleck announced.
"It's not against the rules."
"Fair point."
Yang and Arslan exchanges punches. Both of them able to tank whatever the other throws at them. Well, until Arslan stopped holding back and punched Yang out of the arctic biome and across the Volcano Biome.
"Freezerburn!" Ruby yelled.
Weiss used one of her glyphs to bounce Yang back, Weiss followed back with using an array of Water-dust in which Yang used her fire rounds to create a set of steam across the arena.
"Well, that's one way to avoid a Ring-out." Port announced.
"There are non-monetary benefits for having a Schnee on your huntsman team. The Schnee family Semblance can summon glyphs. Ranging from ones that enhance movement, stopping it, and summoning. Even more possible options when using dust." Oobleck announced.
"That's if they actually partook in battle and didn't get a desk job."
"That is unfortunately correct."
While the steam is up and about in the area of arena. Ruby and Blake uses their enhanced vision to gang up on Arslan while she can't see through the fog made from the steam thanks to Yang and Weiss. Ruby kicks Arslan up in the air which Blake uses the bow to swing her down, slamming her on the ice. The ice had cracked.
Meanwhile, Yang and Weiss are ganging up on Bolin and Reese, leaving Nadir to his own devices, although he's still trying to help his team... he just does it very, very... poorly.
"What's going on? I can't see anything!" Neptune yelled.
"We can't see anything either, Captain Obvious." Mercury yelled.
"Can you two please stop yelling? I'm trying to watch the fight!" The ginger cat faunas with a tail yelled.
"Quite Interesting, it seems that Team RWBY has covered the battlefield in a field of fog. And from the looks of it, it seems the team has learned to fight in the fog." Oobleck announced.
"Talk about preparation. Poor ABRN can't see a thing in that fog." Port announced.
Bolin soon after realizing what's going on, swings his bo staff around, clearing the fog. And than went after Yang, attacking her from a range. Reese than switched from her hoverboard to her dual laser-pistols, and than spun in the air and shot them both down at Weiss, given that lasers don't have recoil, they don't increase her air-time, but she landed safely.
"Energy weapons? Bold decision for Reese Chloris." Port announced.
"Indeed. Energy weapons although can hit instantly and are more accurate due to the lack of recoil. It cannot benefit from the functions of recoil huntsmen use with their weapons, nor can laser beams be augmented with dust, making every shot is the same." Oobleck announced.
Weiss did take a couple of hits from the flurry of lasers, reducing her aura. Given that Reese cannot be mobile and deadly at the same time... she needs to make sure Reese is disarmed. That, and Nadir's constant shooting is distracting. However, she does have the answer for Nadir's shooting, and the fact that she's been walking at an angle because she threw one of her shoes. She takes off her other shoe and threw at Nadir on the head, making him lose balance and fall off the arena. There is a large buzzing noise and Nadir got ringed out! The crowd started to laugh.
"Ringout by shoe! Nadir Shiko is eliminated from the match. If that's not an embarrassing way to go down, I don't know what is!" Port announced.
"Given that Nadir Shiko was barely doing anything, the tide of the match still retains it's state." Oobleck announced.
"Wow! Imagine getting eliminated by a shoe!" The ginger cat faunas heckled.
"That's a new low! Even for him!" Neptune heckled.
After Weiss threw that shoe, she received a laser blast from Reese. Guess she has to fight barefoot now. She starts to use her glyphs to launch herself at Reese, building up momentum and blitzing her. Reese on the other hand is shooting at Weiss.
Bolin and Yang aren't done yet either, and the fight is in Bolin's favor, given his bo-staffs range prevents Yang from doing anything close range. From a moment of thought she fired a blast from ember celicia into the Geyser, erupting it and forcing Bolin to move out of the way, Yang quickly-repositioned herself to shotgun blast herself up to Bolin at point-blank range... only for her to get caught by a rope dart and swung into a glacier wall, kncoking off one of her boots from the impact. People can see her bright yellow sock.
"Ouch! She's going to feel that one in the morning." Port announced.
"Surprisingly, her aura is still in the green, at 74%." Oobleck announced.
Ruby and Blake underestimated Arslan and her strength. When the two of them went to gang up on her after she got up, she managed to throw the two of them aside onto glacier walls. And than used her Rope dart to drag Yang out of the Volcano biome and into here. And than Ruby thought of an Idea... albeit not a good one.
"Strawberry Sunrise!" Ruby yelled.
Yang looked awfully surprised when she heard that, but she insisted on testing it. Yang started to launch herself in towards Ruby and tossed her in the air in which Ruby started to spin. Yang than caught and started to Swing Ruby like one of those heavy swinging balls. In which she realized Ruby and than hit Arslan... only for her to catch Ruby and throw her at Weiss.
"WEISS!" Ruby yelled.
Quickly, Weiss drew a glyph that bounced Ruby back, preventing a Ring-out. Ruby was aimed towards Bolin, which would knock him out in one hit, Ruby prepares for the crash, only to get swung back towards Yang by Bolin with his Bo-Staff.
"It seems this has turned into a game of Hot Potato. With Ruby being the Potato." Port announced.
"Honestly, I'm surprised her aura is still in the green from all of this." Oobleck announced.
"60% is barely green, Bart."
"I know, but I would have expected it to be lower."
"I hope you're alright Ruby!" Nora yelled.
"She's being tossed around like a Ping-Pong ball! She's anything but alright!" Sage yelled.
"Does it matter? It's fun to watch!" Russel yelled.
Reese and Blake were clashing each other whilst Ruby was bouncing around all corners of the arena. Reese's hoverboard slashing through Blake's shadow clones as Blake went and used an aura-created sword-beam. Then Blake suddenly got an idea, she used the lightning dust in gambrol shroud to create a lightning clone, which electrocutes and disables the hoverboard. Reese unable to actually do anything resorted to hand-to-hand combat only for Blake to use the ice-dust to trap her in and than kick her down. Minorly cracking the ice. Bolin intervened and attacked Blake to gang up on her two-to-one. Weiss being busy trying to keep Ruby in the ring, only for her to end up crashing into the Ice and on Reese, which causes the ice to crack further.
"Uh oh! Looks like the arctic biome's getting a bit unstable. I honestly never expected to see blue ice crack this much." Port announced.
"If the ice cracks, the entire biome will fall and submerge everyone into the water below. Those who have trouble swimming will be removed from the Arena and will be eliminated. These were rules that were made ahead of time incase the blue ice does crack." Oobleck announced.
"Last thing we'd need is a bunch of students drowning in cold water."
"That isn't something you should joke about."
"And it seems here Ruby Rose's Aura is dropped to 27%, whilst Reese Chloris' is at 16%."
Must... kill... NO! Not in public!
Ruby fled to the other side of the battlefield and tagged Weiss, who than went to the arctic biome. Ruby meanwhile was trying to keep her grimm in control. She figured staying out of battle would prevent the security from killing her... and ruin the lives of her teammates. Although she does still try and help by getting up on high-ground and focus on sniping her foes. She than heard a buzzing noise.
"As expected, Reese Chloris has been eliminated." Oobleck announced.
"Weiss is really at it with shoeing her opponents." Port announced.
"Told ya these guys sucked!" Neptune heckled.
"Shut up Neptune! I'm trying to concentrate on the fight!" Emerald yelled.
Arslan and Bolin are putting up a fight. Although team RWBY does have the numbers advantage, without their leader they are not as coordinated. Well, until Yang has an idea. She loaded Ember Celicia with fire dust and started to punch the ice. Which melted some of the blue Ice and caused the arena to crack, making the ice fall apart. Some of the ice fall down to the ground, whilst the rest of the ice and the water is maintained by the pseudo-gravity of the arena. But now Bolin and Arslan can't really co-ordinate with each other.
Ruby sees this and thought Yang was clever to use it as an advantage. Ruby loads Crescent Rose with a fires dust round, and than firing a shot at Arslan's platform, melting it. But than she went to hop between the islands to get to the volcano biome. Ruby would need to stay out of Arslan's range.
Bolin than hopped onto Yang's ice island to attack, only for Blake to parry him and knock him off guard. Followed by Yang punching him off the arena. A buzzing noise can be heard.
"Oh, and Bolin Hori's been eliminated, this time without using a shoe!" Port announced.
It's now a 4v1. And Arslan insists on fighting Ruby. She fights with her strength, maybe she could use that against her. She hops down from the height point and waits for Arslan to come, and when she gets her rope dart to grab Ruby, the red cloaked huntress grabbed the rope and than swung her out of the arena, causing the final knockout!
"Well, it seems that the matchup was less one-sided than a certain Haven student said it would be." Port announced.
"I can hear you!" Neptune heckled.
"Quiet you! Anyways, it was an interesting fight!" Port yelled at Neptune.
"Indeed. Arslan nearly ringed out two members of team RWBY, whilst Reese Chloris and Bolin Hori put up a good fight against them. Nadir Shiko however, was completely useless. The person who taught him how to aim would need to get an eye-check." Oobleck announced.
"Yep, not to mention he had a weakness to shoes."
"That, and RWBY's teamwork, co-ordination, and clever tactics managed to pull off the victory."
"The winner is team RWBY, and they'll be moving on to the doubles, which half of the team? That's up to them and they can change it at anytime before the doubles start!"
"We did it! We WON!" Ruby yelled in excitement.
Ruby went to hug Blake passionately. Weiss and Yang meanwhile were diving in the ice-water to retrieve a shoe.
"Something tells me throwing your shoes in the arctic biome was a bad idea in hindsight." Blake said, but chances are she didn't hear it.
"I think her other shoe's in the volcano biome." Ruby stated.
"Come to think of it, she went barefoot in the volcano biome, how did the other shoe get in the arctic biome?" Blake asked.
"Sorry, that was my shoe she used." Yang stated, emerging into the water holding onto the center platform with one hand, and her shoe in another.
Weiss also emerges, and than gasps for breath.
"Can team RWBY please vacate from the arena?" Port announced.
"Sorry!" Ruby said, leaving the arena.
Amity Colosseum, 10:11 AM (Daylight warning), Tuesday, Amity Corridors
The corridors of the Amity Colosseum, the location in the complex colosseum to reach the bleachers, arena, the boxes, and the upper-stage where the arena's systems are managed. Along with the staff areas and exits and entrances to the arena.
Ruby and Blake are at the restroom. Blake was 'feeding' Ruby. Ruby drinks slower on Blake because she enjoys Blake's blood more than anyone else's. They're doing it in the restroom because the stall doors would ensure privacy and no one would ask questions. Even if there's four feet in the stalls. Although after the bite, Ruby started to kiss Blake, but Blake pushed Ruby.
"What?" Ruby asked.
"Let's not make out on a toilet." Blake stated.
"Oh, right..."
The two of them left the restroom and met up with the rest of the team, who are still soaking wet.
"Maybe we should head back to the dorm to dry up... and rest up before heading to the fairgrounds." Yang offered.
"During the day?" Blake asked.
"Ruby, you the rainshade, sure you won't be able to do any of the outdoor activities... but you would be there, socializing." Weiss stated.
Ruby just stayed silent from hearing that.
"But I think we should take time to rest up before heading outside again, that was a troubling fight." Yang stated.
"It'll give me a good time to decide who gets to move on the doubles!" Ruby stated.
"Ruby, you're not moving on to the doubles." Yang stated.
"I know that!"
"So... who do want to advance to the doubles?"
"I know I want Blake to advance to the doubles."
"Why Blake?" Weiss asked.
"She's fast, agile, and a good trickster with her semblance." Ruby stated.
"Who's going to be the second?" Blake asked.
"That's what I'm thinking about." Ruby said.
As soon as they decided to go to where they placed Ruby's box (amity doesn't allow rainshades for some reason), they were soon met by JNPR.
"Congratulations on your fight, guys." Jaune said.
"Ya... we were going to head back to the dorm and relax a bit before hitting the fairgrounds." Yang said.
"Guess we'll be seeing you there, then." Nora stated.
Afterwards, Yang and Weiss went on watch as Blake got Ruby into the box... than the group headed back to the dorm.
Beacon Academy, 12:40 PM (Daylight Warning), Tuesday, RWBY Dormitory
Ruby was taking a nap... well... asleep because it was daytime and she wanted to sleep the sunlight away as much as she could. She figured she'd be fine sleeping for the rest of the day, she'd have the team to wake her up if JNPR or SSSN are watching but that's all.
Well, until she's being nudged by her sister...
"Yaaang... I'm trying to sleep." Ruby said.
"I know you are, but I'd figure if you want to go to the festival grounds with your rainshade and hang out with your friends." Yang offered.
"Eeeuurgh... fine, but I am wearing my cloak over my hair."
"fair enough, Contessa Ruby." Yang joked.
Ruby groaned. But she got out of bed and took a shower. Her sister is going to pester her until she does anyway. Not that Ruby doesn't want to go to the fairgrounds, she just doesn't want to go there during daytime. Ruby hopes it's cloudy. Maybe than she could go without the rainshade. Not to mention her aura's not fully recovered, it's at 53% right now.
Ruby went to get dressed somewhere out of the eyes of her team. Guess she has to risk her aura getting drained just to talk to people. She's not even at 100%, thankfully she requested to the headmaster to take some bloodpacks from the clinic, although she was only allowed to take ten, so she's still at rationing, unfortunately.
Ruby definitely won't be going up for the doubles. As much as she wants her and Blake fighting in the doubles, going so would require her to be at 100% Aura. But she would need to drink on more people, and she's not thirsty right now, not to mention her moral qualms. So, she would just stay out of combat for now. Ruby grabbed her rainshade and downed her cloak over her head. She really doesn't like the sun, for good reason. At least when she does go out during the day, it's only briefly to go between another building.
The team, all wearing their standard outfits, went to the Vytal festival fairgrounds... whether they'd want to or not.
City of Vale, 2:20 PM (Daylight Warning), Tuesday, Vytal Fairgrounds.
The Vytal Festival Fairgrounds, usually built up around it's selected City every other year. Quite similar to the Pyrefest grounds. There are tents, stands, and stalls everywhere. But unlike Pyrefest, there's no hedonistic stuff here, everything in the fairgrounds is safe for kids. There are games, food, and a merry-go-round. It was also in central park.
Ruby had the rainshade over her head, casting a shadow to wherever she went. To avoid contact with the sunlight. She was standing right outside a noodle bar where the rest of her team was ordering some noodles. Ruby was next to them too so she can talk to them. She than saw JNPR coming in and sitting down alongside.
"Ruby, why don't you come sit with us?" Nora asked.
"No thanks, I'm not hungry." Ruby stated.
"Well, your loss. These noodles are good!"
"So, I'm guessing you're done with the resting up?" Jaune asked.
"Yep, Ruby and Blake took showers, me and Weiss dried off." Yang said.
"Swimming in arctic cold water looking for a boot was not fun. Not to mention walking barefoot looking for your heels." Weiss stated.
"On volcanic ground and blue Ice no less."
"Well, congratulations on your victory!" Pyrrha said.
"And good luck on your fight!" Blake stated.
"Oh, don't worry. We've got my strength, Ren's stealth, Pyrrha's skills, and Jaune's tactics. We can totally take this!" Nora stated.
"Yep, precisely." Jaune stated.
"And we will win. Otherwise, we'll be the laughing stock of the school, all of our friends won't talk to us, and we'll be shunned everywhere outside our home except we don't have a-" Nora ranted until she faded out of existence.
Ruby was phased at what she saw. Nora had gone: 'poof', like she never existed. Her eyes widened out of concern for Nora and Ruby's sanity. Ruby closed her eyes and and opened them again... nope, Nora is still there. What happened to Nora? Why is she gone? Where is she? And than she magically just pops out of nowhere. Which phased Ruby even the more, she just... didn't exist for thirty seconds. She honestly looked terrified.
"Ruby, what's wrong? It looks like you've seen a ghost." Nora asked.
"Oh, nothing... nothing." Ruby said.
"I think we're going to have to talk to her when we get back from the festival." Blake stated.
"Ya, Nora. Make sure you don't rant like that again. Good job on your semblance though, Ren." Weiss stated.
Ren can make people invisible? So that's why he's so good at stealth!
She was honestly confused by the sight, she would have reacted, but she would much like to stay in her own portable shade. But than she got bumped by someone which tipped the shade which has some sunlight touch her hand... which than she moved back to the shade, briefly damaging her aura.
"Hey, watch where you're going!" Ruby complained.
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Mercury stated. Ruby can feel annoyance and hatred from him.
"Do any of you smell burning flesh?" Ren asked.
"Nope!" Ruby yelped.
"I don't." Weiss stated.
"Not me." Blake said.
"Not at all." Yang claimed.
"Guess it was just me than." Ren said.
"Huh, guess something else is burning than." Nora said.
"Anyways. Congrats on the victory." Mercury said.
"So... where's the rest of your team?" Ruby asked.
"Emerald is somewhere here. Likely finding something for the rest of the team to eat, the other two are not exactly the social type."
"Ah... I see. Well, hopefully they don't cause any trouble."
"Kay. Oh, by the way, who are you going to send to the doubles?"
"I've decided that Weiss and Blake will be fighting for my team in the doubles, I figured it'd be a good combination."
"Oh, I see. Well, talk to you later." Mercury said, leaving the area.
Ruby was waving. The rest of her team was looking at Ruby.
"So... any reason that I won't be moving to the doubles?" Yang asked.
"You're a great fighter, but you're a bit... short tempered." Ruby said.
"Ruby's got a point, Yang. You do need to work on that temper of yours, maybe next tournament you can fight in the doubles." Weiss stated.
"Even than, two fast and agile fighters seem to synergize better than 1 fast, 1 strong." Blake stated.
"Alright, fine, you made your claim." Yang pouted.
"Don't worry Yang, you can always watch the fights with me." Ruby said.
"Well... I'm still a bit shocked that I won't get to fight."
"It's okay, we don't always get what we want."
"Anyways, we're going to stay around here for a bit until either the festival closes or we're called to fight." Nora stated.
"We know we're going to fight inevitably, and we'll be ready for it." Jaune stated.
"Well, that's good." Ruby said.
"Well, given that we're done here, want to wonder around the fairgrounds?" Blake asked.
"Of course." Ruby stated.
The four members of team RWBY have spent some time at the fair-grounds. With most of her team spending time playing games and stuff, whilst Ruby was holding all the bags. She can't really complain because than she'd have to let go of the rainshade and be in the sun, and die! Eventually when the team had enough, they headed back to their dorm and let Ruby sleep for the rest of the day, save for the texts when JNPR and SSSN are playing so Ruby can watch them live from the living room. As for the rest of the team, they mostly went back to watch the fights when available, just chill at Beacon when they're not.
Author's Footnote: Heeeey... that's right, It's Volume 3, and we all know what that means, things will be revealed, and people are going to die! This Volume 3 may be... erratic. But I will tell you that I may be skipping over the JNPR and SSSN team fights solely because the events that take place there will be remaining the same. Interview, Ruby Rose
"This is Lisa Lavender, reporting to you live from Amity Colosseum, I am here with one of the fighters and the youngest of them. Ruby Rose, inside the locker room. I offered to go outside, but she insists on doing the interviews indoors. Ruby?" Lisa said, at the Camera, with her microphone and temporarly passing it to Ruby.
"Hi Dad! Hi Zwei! I'm on TV!" Ruby said, waving to the camera.
"Let's start off with a simple question, why did you become a huntress?"
"I want to help people. So, I figured I'd make a living out of it. Being a huntress means I can help people feel safe from the grimm. There's no real motive for me other than to help people."
"That's very noble. So, tell me, how does it feel to be the youngest person attending the tournament?"
"Not much different from the rest of my time at Beacon. I am already the youngest student there, the people there are nice, but I'm not that good with people, but I do have friends outside my team. Like Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, Ren, Velvet, Coco, Yatsu, Sun, Penny, and Neptune."
"Did you say that you are friends with Pyrrha Nikos? The Invincible champion of Mistral?"
"Ya, she's a student here, at Beacon. She's a really nice person."
"So, how is Pyrrha Nikos as a person?"
"Is this interview about me or Pyrrha?"
"Can you please answer the question?"
"Alright, fine. She's an interesting person, nice, very polite. I don't think she's ever done a bad thing in her life. She's also kind of attractive."
"Pretty much almost every boy your age would agree with you there. Tell me, how is does your team behave on average?"
"The team is alright; we pretty much spend time when we can and improve our tactics when we can. We're already going to spend our school career together, may as well be friends for the ride."
"You sure you aren't using one of your teammates for her money?"
"Weiss? Nah, we're friends. Besides, she was cut off from her family money a month ago. She's really fun to hang out, quite different than what most people say of her."
"And what of her thoughts of the faunas?"
"Weiss doesn't hate the faunas, she's pretty good friends with a student from Haven who's a faunas."
"How interesting. Tell me, would you consider dating a faunas."
"I don't see why not. They're basically people with just a single animal trait. I wouldn't mind if my girlfriend was human or faunas, especially if that faunas had black hair, pretty cat ears, and have-"
"I am going to stop you right there. There are children watching this."
"Oh, sorry. I must have gotten lost talking about a hypothetical scenario. No offense to my actual girlfriend, Blake."
"Isn't Blake a boy's name?"
"I think in most cases, yes. But I think it can be used for both boys and girls."
"How would you describe your relationship with your girlfriend?"
"She's a nice girl. We kiss, cuddle... hang out together. We also went bowling together. We're also on the same team together."
"Well, that's interesting to hear. And of your fourth team member?"
"Oh, Yang? She's my sister, of course I love her and would do what I can to make sure she's safe. She'd do the same for me."
"If she's the older sister, why are you the leader?"
"Well, I'm the better strategist, that's all."
"No... rivalry between you two?"
"Surprisingly no, in fact she's more so of a mother figure to me."
"That's quite interesting to hear. And of your mother?"
"Well, she went missing when I was really young. There were no leads to where she would have been. I miss her so much, and so does my sister. She was legally declared dead and we've had a grave dedicated to her incase we found her..." Ruby starts sobbing, but no tears come out.
"You don't have to finish!" Lisa exclaimed.
"Thank you. It's a sensitive subject for me."
"I understand. I feel like we're done here. I'll be interviewing the rest of your team now."
Interview, Weiss Schnee
"Lisa Lavender here, with one of the combatants of the Vytal tournament and the heiress of the Schnee Dust Company, Weiss Schnee. Outside Amity Colosseum, where people are lining up to see the fights. Do you have anything to say before we begin?" Lisa asked, letting Weiss have the mic for a bit.
"Well, I would like to say hello to my sister, Winter. Also, to Whitley: stop leaving the cap off the toothpaste when you brush your teeth!" Weiss stated, taking the microphone, before giving it back to the news reporter.
"Why did you become a huntress? Surely one of your status doesn't have to risk their life."
"That's where you're wrong. Reputation means everything, and my father's been dragging it through the mud. I'd like to show the world that the Schnee family isn't a decadent one."
"That's unexpected to come from you."
"And that's the problem. Many people would see me as a younger, female version of my father. I am not my father."
"Then what are you, as a person?"
"I'm assertive, I'm a skilled fighter, and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty."
"Well, your father's hands aren't clean either."
"You know exactly what I meant."
"Your leader said that you've been cut off from the family funds, is this true?"
"Yep, it's true, and it was totally worth it."
"Do you think you could survive without your family fortune?"
"My team's been teaching me skills that I'd need to survive on my own, besides, I have a drivers license already."
"Are you worried that you won't inherit the company?"
"Nope, not all. Come to think of it, I am expecting my father to write me out of inheriting the company anyway."
"So, you're fine with not inheriting the company."
"When you're fighting grimm, the last thing you should worry about is whether or not you will own a billion-lien company."
"About your fighting style, how do you manage to fight in heels?"
"Intense training and countless twisted ankles. I didn't want to wear heels in combat, but my father insisted I do. Selfish prick."
"You really seem to not have anything good to say about your father."
"Try living with him. Can we talk about something else before I lose my temper?"
"Alright, what are your thoughts on not being team leader?"
"Honestly, I was a bit upset at first, but than as time grew on, I realize that Ruby's a better leader than I'd ever be. And there was that time I tried to take power when Ruby took to long to get back after the blackout. But than in hindsight, I sounded way childish there."
"How interesting. And what of your other teammates?"
"Blake is interesting. Well, and surprising. There was stuff about her I wouldn't expect her to be. And than Yang, she's smarter than what people lead her on to be, but she's not very good when keeping her emotions in check."
"Are you sure you don't want to talk about your father?"
"I'm sure, I'm not taking the bait you tabloid journalists give out!"
"I see. I'll be heading on to your next teammate."
Interview, Blake Belladonna
"Lisa Lavender here, with one of the combatants of the Vytal tournament. We are directly outside the Beacon Academy Library where I dragged trainee huntress Blake Belladonna. Do you have anything to say before we start the interview?" Lisa said, speaking to the camera, passing the microphone to Blake.
"Uhh... can I go back reading my book now?" Blake asked, than handed back the microphone to the news reporter.
"After this interview is over. So, tell me... why did you become a huntress?"
"Because I want to?"
"And why do you?"
"Because I didn't feel like becoming a news reporter who likes snooping on children."
"Excuse me, how dare you!"
"Now can I get back to my book or not?"
"After the interview. I see you're wearing a bow, why is that?"
"I just like wearing them. Is that a problem to you?"
"No, it's not. It's just me as a reporter needs to know this stuff."
"And why is that?"
"Because we'd like to know the combatants better. So, what can you tell me about your team?"
"Ruby's my girlfriend, Weiss and Yang are nice. That's really all I'll say."
"You really are hard to get information out of."
"And this interview is over." Blake said, heading back to the library.
Interview, Yang Xiao Long
"Lisa Lavender here, we're at the outdoor training yard with Yang Xiao Long, a student here at Beacon Academy and combatant at the Vytal tournament. Do you have anything you'd like to say before we begin?" Lisa said, speaking to the camera.
"Well, I'd like to say hi to my father, but that's pretty much it." Yang said.
"So, tell me. Why did you become a huntress?"
"Eh, I just felt like it."
"No rational reason, just felt like it?"
"Yep. I typically go with the flow. Given that my dad's a huntsman and that my sister wants to be a huntress, I figured why not?"
"How interesting. So... how does it feel giong to-HEY! AH! GET THIS CROW OFF ME!" Lisa yelled, being attacked by a crow that has a bad stench of alchohol on it for some reason. And than the camera crew had left to get out of the area. Yang was just laughing at the event's that were occurring.
