Author's Headnote: See, I'd be back, whether I actually waited to post this on May or return early is on my patience, if the former, I'm glad you stuck around… if the latter, well I'm still around and I'm not dead. I wrote this note on my phone so mind the grammar. So, let's jump onto the chapter. Also, having finished watching the season finale of Volume 8, what the hell Rooster Teeth? So... let's just jump into the chapter now.

Beacon Academy, 12:55 PM (Daylight Warning), Friday, RWBY Dormitory

Ruby was excited to see Blake and Weiss fight today. She texted Yang to let her know she's watching the fight. Hopefully that training session from Winter pulled off to help for the fight. It's actually how Ruby woke up this morning. And the rest of her team...

Seven Hours ago

Ruby was sleeping like the dead, with Blake at her side... when all of the sudden...

THUMP!

Ruby was attached to a black Schnee glyph, from what Ruby knows about Weiss' semblance, those ones stop movement. And below her was a white one. She looked around and saw Winter inside the dorm room. She also sees the rest of her team. Is also in a similar position.

"Rise and shine. There is training to be done." Winter announced.

"Err... it's 6 AM. We don't get up this early unless there's classes." Yang complained.

"And I will be tutoring you."

"Is... that even legal? Giving training to students during the festival?" Blake asked.

"I've read the rules thoroughly, there is nothing saying about that." Winter stated.

"Do all of us have to?" Ruby complained.

"Yes. I cannot just train the ones entering the doubles, it would show bias and the tabloids would have your team disqualified. So go on, meet me in the indoor combat arena in the school." Winter ordered followed by using her semblance to throw them on the floor which had another black Schnee glyph on the to catch them... after they were on the glyph, it had disappeared.

"Your sister is really good with that semblance." Yang said in an annoyed tone, followed by her getting up.

"It's how she and my mother woke me and Whitley up. I used to be a heavy sleeper when I was a kid." Weiss said, also getting up from the floor.

"Guess being thrashed around by Glyphs made you more of a light sleeper?" Blake asked, jumping back up from the floor and helping Ruby up.

"Yep. And guessing by her tone, she'll be doing this to us every morning."

Ruby groaned in an annoyed tone.

"We can't tell her about your condition, so suck it up." Weiss retorted.

"Err... fine." Ruby said in an annoyed tone.

She grabbed the opened bloodpack from the fridge and drank it until her aura was at 100%. Which was the rest of the bloodpack, her aura was at 88%. But she was still slightly thirsty, but she doesn't really have much options for substance. After that she grabbed her rainshade and headed towards the school building to where her team and Winter would be meeting up.

Beacon Academy, 7:30 AM (Daylight Warning), Friday, Indoor Combat Arena

Ruby arrived at the Combat Arena. And when doing so... Winter used her glyph to force her team in a battling position. They were perfectly aligned on the left side of the arena. And across them was a holographic replica of Team RWBY. Except they more so resembled the team back in the first Semester. Appearently Winter is pinning training against younger versions of the team.

"This here is holograms of your team collected from Battle footage of your initiation. They are designed to fight exactly like you did on the very second day of attending your school. You are to face against them, if you cannot win against your less experienced selves, than I'm afraid you're hopeless as huntresses." Winter lectured.

Well... that's very blunt.

Blunt or not. She initiated the match.

The holograms charge in haphazardly like the inexperienced replicas of huntresses they are. Especially the Ruby hologram. Real Ruby parried the scythe strike with her own and swung the hologram back. And proceeded to fire a bullet at it. Meanwhile Weiss and hologram Weiss are dueling in the sense, so far, they appear evenly matched. Hologram Blake seems to be struggling against the real Blake though. It's obvious signs that Blake has improved. But Ruby ended up getting distracted by the Blake's for hologram Ruby to take a surprise strike on her.

Ruby wasn't surprised, although Ruby is moral, she's also known for her dirty fighting. Yang's still a head-on fighter, fighting with strength and guts, the shotgun blasts seem to parry each other. Although the real Yang managed to break it with a kick in the gut. And a punch down. So, Yang has been a bit more creative in fighting, albeit a bit aggressive. It seems the real Weiss' skills have improved too, since the stagnation has broken... all without throwing shoes! She had managed to detect a pattern in her fighting and countered it.

Blake's been... let's not look at Blake right now, let's pay attention to hologram Ruby. The two Scythes were clashing, one high-energetic and rushing. The other patient and agile. Since Ruby's been improving her fighting skills to match her condition, she's able to take on her past self with ease, parrying the scythe followed by a kick in the air land behind her, and strike her from behind. After that the hologram got de-activated and so she waited for the rest of the team to finish up theirs. After that, they cycled through the teammates.

Back to Present

It was tiring, but thankfully Weiss and Blake got a bit of pumped-up energy that would last the match and than some before passing out. Mostly because they had some of the longlast Coffee that is made for studying purposes. Although it doesn't hyper-up someone like coffee does, the rush does last longer, the crash is also less severe but it lasts longer. These batches are the only ones available at stock because coffee tends to have bad side effects. Then there's also the decaf coffee, which Nora always drinks. When asked, Nora would respond with a long rant about her insomnia, in which she would lose her color... or simply jump out of existence.

And that's when Ruby realized Ren's semblance doesn't make people invisible. It just masks a person's presence from grimm... and vampires. Although chances are Ren doesn't know that his semblance would mask people from her as well... now Ruby feels incredibly stupid. But she is still utterly shocked at the fact that Ren could make people disappear from her field of view.

But now she prepares to watch the fight.

Character Change: Ruby Rose - Blake Belladonna

Amity Colosseum, 12:55 PM, Friday, Amity Arena

Blake and Weiss were walking toward the Arena.

"So... what do you think we're fighting?" Blake asked.

"Considering they're an Atlas Team, they're heavily disciplined and exceptional tacticians." Weiss stated.

And across them was a well-dressed man with a brimmed hat and a trumpet. His outfit consists of a suit pants and a collar shirt, with a vest over it, along with a tie. He is also seen wearing loafers. He's mostly wearing White and Black. Along with him is another gentleman wearing a mostly blue outfit. Consisting of a polo T-shirt and khakis, also wearing loafers. There is also a small amount of light armor on the torso of the polo and the knees, he's also wearing a pair of gloves and a bracer on his left arm. His hair was blue, with an updo Ponytail.

"The combatants are lined up in the arena. On the left side is Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna of Team RWBY, two agile and fast tricksters." Oobleck announced.

"And on the right are two strong, and durable fighters of Team FNKI. Flynt Coal and Kobalt Waters." Port announced.

"Or... whoever they are." Weiss said in surprise.

"You're Weiss Schnee?" The first man, Flynt said, facing Weiss.

"Uhh... ya, why?"

"My father owned a small dust shop in Mantle a decade ago, until your father shut it down and took everything."

"Well, I can assure you I am not like my father."

"Right, well you're going to have to prove it."

"You know it's impractical to fight in heels." the second man, Kobalt said.

"Isn't it impractical to fight in loafers?" Blake asked, in an offended tone.

"Fair point."

The arena is now randomizing the biomes. Since it's a doubles match that means there will be six individual biomes on the arena.

"And on RWBY's side is Volcano, City Ruins, and Tundra. An interesting combination to say!" Port announced.

"Quite indeed. The Volcano's hot temperature would naturally deplete aura from the hot temperatures." Oobleck announced.

"And don't let the city ruins biome fool you, it has hazards right in plain sight!"

"The Tundra biome is a safe zone, simple as that. Purely because the biomes do not generate wild animals."

"And on the FNKI's side of the arena is the rare Gravity Biome, the Thunderous Mountain Biome, and the Swamp Biome."

"Ah, the Gravity Biome. This one rarely comes up, and it gets interesting when it does. Given the unique properties to change the direction of where one walks."

"And taking up a lot of gravity dust doing so."

"That too."

"We've seen Thunderous Mountain before in the JNPR fight, it's recommended to go up that mountain unless your semblance reacts to lightning."

"As for the swamp biome, it's best to change your clothes after the fight if you wander in there."

Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna vs Flynt Coal and Kobalt Waters

The two pairs prepare to draw their weapons... and crack their fists.

"Let's see if you can keep up with the Rhythm, Schnee." Flynt Taunted.

"Definitely, I learned how to fight in Dance class." Weiss taunted.

"But I can assure you, we're more fast-paced than you're used to." Kobalt taunted.

"That's fine with me, I can take you on." Blake taunted.

TRUMPET NOISE!

"Oooh, 0.05 seconds after the fight starts, and already the first strike was made. Flynt Coal used his trumpet to blow back Weiss and Blake across their side of the Arena. Team FNKI is already at a head start!" Port announced.

"Ya! Show them whose boss Flynt!" The ginger cat faunas heckled.

"Get back up and kick their butts!" Yang heckled.

Weiss got and and went to fight Flynt. Blake got up, only to be met with the strong fists of Kobalt. It seems that he really packs a punch. Well, it's time to bring out the semblance, combined with Ice dust, she makes a shadow copy of herself to trap cobalt in, and than strikes him from behind by knocking him off balance. Blake than went the approach to swing him across the other-side of the arena with her bow, but he quickly caught on and caught it, and yanked it, bringing Blake towards Kobalt, who ducked and finally Blake hitting the ice-sculpture.

"Many say mind over matter, but I think Kobalt here's got both!" Port announced.

"Quite indeed. He's a good fighter, and great at improvising." Oobleck announced.

"Way to go, Kobalt!" The ginger cat faunas heckled.

"Neon, I didn't even fini-" Kobalt said, before being interrupted by Blake with a kick in the face.

"And ouch, getting distracted by the hecklers." Port announced.

"So that's the way you want to play? Fine." Kobalt said, flicking his left arm, his bracer than reforms into an entire gauntlet. A ball of lightning than forms from it. In which he than places it on his right hand and throws it at Blake, she barely got out of the blast radius, so she was grazed by the electrical explosion. If that's what Kobalt is capable of... well, it's no wonder FNKI made it to the doubles, but they won't make it past that... Blake can count on that.

"Kobalt's dust gauntlet. It's filled with a plentiful quantity of dust powder, which allows him to use dust directly, performing an array of dangerous attacks. Quite similar to Weiss' Myrtenaster." Oobleck announced.

"I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of Kobalt's gravity punch!" Port announced.

They were currently in the City Ruins biome, which means the fragile infrastructure could be used to aid Blake in an advantage. Blake had positioned her near a fragile part of the small structure, if it breaks, it goes crashing down. Blake sees Kobalt going towards her. And than went and aimed his gauntlet at Blake, in which it fired a fireball towards Blake. She than used her for it to take the bait as she ran away... only for the Fireball to somehow trace her...

"That is one determined fireball!" Neptune heckled.

Very clever Kobalt, a homing missile.

Blake had a plan; she was heading toward the Volcano biome where Weiss and Flynt were fighting. Although the Fireball was catching up to Blake, so figured she may change places with Weiss. She jumped across the railing and slid down and than jumped into the volcano biome. Kobalt was running towards her in the base arena platform. She than used her semblance as a platform to jump towards Flynt as the fireball hit. Damaging Blake, but also Flynt.

"Hahahahahah! He just attacked his own teammate!" Neptune heckled.

"Hold on... I had to read something. Apparently, the reason Kobalt's Fire missile can do that is because of a small mixture of gravity dust into the fire dust, allowing a gravitational pull toward the target. I'm not sure how that works... but okay." Port announced.

"So, you missed out on it exploding and causing Friendly Fire?" Oobleck announced.

"Well, I guess I'll have to do my reading when there isn't a show going on."

"Kobalt! Watch where you aim those things!" Flynt yelled.

"Sorry, guess she managed to manipulate it into hitting you as well." Kobalt defended himself.

"Doesn't matter, we're switching targets, you deal with the Schnee, I deal with the other girl."

"Right."

As soon as that happens. Kobalt begins to target Weiss using Earth Dust to fire an array of shards towards her using his Gauntlet. Which also provides a Flynt a beat to start a tune against Blake. Weiss has so far been deflecting the shards with her semblance. Whilst Blake is trying to avoid being in the blast range of Flynt's dust trumpet. Which currently has 'blizzard (Ice + Wind) dust' in it. The blasts from the cold wind from the trumpet is making it hard to even get near Flynt. Not to mention the Ice shards.

Any bullets fired toward the range of his trumpet-tornado, would just be stopped or slowed down by the blizzard dust. Guess the only way to take him on is from behind. She used her semblance as a platform to get out of the Volcano biome. Meanwhile Flynt is seen reloading his trumpet.

"Looks like Flynt is up to something." Port announced.

"Still, with how things are going, it could still go either way!" Oobleck announced.

Blake is bordering the Gravity Biome... the platforms there don't follow the concrete laws of gravity... but wind doesn't. As Flynt starts his attack... She jumps onto one of the platforms... now everything is upside down. And that's when activated his semblance, now there's four Flynt's to deal with. The four of them jumped onto the various platforms in an attempt to flank Blake. She than used her semblance with wind dust to blow them back and out of the platforms... half of the Flynt's landing in the Swamp biome, one in the thunderous mountain biome, and the final one on a side platform. Blake managed to push her on another side platform.

Meanwhile... Weiss and Kobalt are at it... she really can't do much against him... she has to reside with using ranged attacks... which he parries with Concenrated Ice bolts, if she goes up close... he claps with Wind dust, blowing Weiss back. They've managed to get to the Tundra biome in the fighting. Creative counters... and than Weiss put her blade into the ground and summoned a replica of herself. Guess she managed to take Winter's training to heart. The Weiss construct went first and charged toward Kobalt who than responded with a Wind-clap, blowing it back and as the construct is pushed back, the real Weiss heads in and attacks Kobalt while his guard is down.

Back to Blake, she had been focused on fight Flynt. His clones apparently can be recalled at anytime. So, it's just a constant four on one fight. Thankfully she uses an Electrical shadow clone to burst the clones to fight the real Flynt. They really do put up a good fight. Afterwards... she kicked Flynt into the air... leaving the platforms center of gravity and causing him to enter the Swamp Biome. Well... she's going to have to change her clothes after this.

She had jumped into the swamp biome... looking for Flynt... only to be met with a loud trumpet noise and a fire... guess the trumpet's also a flamethrower. And she quickly gets out of the biome before it burns down.

"Be careful, you're going to burn down the entire Arena!" Neptune heckled.

"Oh, quiet you. All you do is either get scared of water or heckle." The ginger cat faunas yelled.

"For any children in the audience: starting fire in places with a lot of plant life is very, very bad. You shouldn't do it." Port announced.

Well... that's a given. The PSA that is.

Meanwhile, Weiss has been using her summons to mess with Kobalt, specifically an array of Weiss constructs. Well... one at a time that is. She's been getting cheering from Weiss... and than she sees Kobalt has had enough... he began to charge up his fist... and starting running toward Weiss... If this was any other person... this trick would work. But thankfully she wouldn't let this happen. She uses her glyphs to slow down Kobalt and make him stay in place... Only for him to punch the ground and launch himself in the air.

"That showed him, Weiss!" Yang heckled.

"The climax of the fight has begun. I believe this would be the point where the tables lean toward one side." Oobleck announced... followed by the sound of a table collapsing.

"You just had to jynx it, Bart." Port announced.

As Kobalt went crashing down... Weiss put an array of glyphs to slow down... but Kobalt used that as an advantage to throw an array of electric balls down... only for Weiss to use her semblance to bounce them back up. Kobalt's strong and tough, but he's slow. The balls than hit back at Kobalt... followed by a crash in the ground.

Blake meanwhile was keeping Flynt from intervening with Weiss' fight with her fighting, using Gambrol shroud's bow to bring him back toward the burnt swamp.

Blake needed to make sure Flynt can't help out his teammate. Which would be incredibly hard, given his semblance. She needs to get behind Flynt. The mini-tornado formed from the Trumpet would end up thrashing Blake if she gets too close. Not to mention the four of them. And that's when she heard screaming...

"Whoa, looks like Kobalt managed to hit Weiss with that Gravity Punch of his!" Port announced.

"The Knockback from the punch is astounding... she's going to get ringed out or hit by a burnt tree is my safe bet. Either way, she'll get eliminated from the match." Oobleck announced.

"Way to show her, Kobalt!" The ginger cat faunas heckled.

Wait... hitting a burn tree?

She's coming towards Blake. She looked behind her reacted quickly, grabbing Weiss with gambrol shroud's bow and using her to slam Flynt. Two Buzzing noises are heard.

"A Double Knockout! Weiss Schnee's Aura holding on at 1% and Flynt's at 9%, they are both eliminated from the match. So now it's just down to Kobalt and Blake." Port announced.

"You can take her, Kobalt!" The ginger cat faunas yelled.

"Come on Blake, finish this!" Yang yelled.

Blake walked toward the center platform. Kobalt is seen activating his gravity fist and is running toward Blake... thankfully she saved one of her semblance dust rounds just for this... she runs towards Kobalt... the crowd gasps in surprise. And...

She jumps, activates her semblance with Gravity dust... her clone creates a gravitational field... which pulls Kobalt toward it... after the clone explodes... sending Kobalt sky high, she uses her bow to grab onto Kobalt and throws him toward the City Ruins Biome. Kobalt crashed into one of the ruins and fell down... and so did the rest of biomes as a result... a buzzing noise is heard.

"An unexpected finish. Kobalt Waters has been downed." Port announced.

"A lot of dust was spent in the match. Like the battles that were fought, dust is a key factor. However, team FNKI's main flaw is that their weapon's main functions were solely reliant on it. Dust is useful, but it's finite." Oobleck announced.

"Overall, the fight was a close one. One side didn't have an advantage over the other for a while. But the results are clear, the winner is Weiss Schnee and Blake Belladonna of Team RWBY."

Blake sheathed Gambrol shroud and went to help Weiss and Flynt up. Flynt grabbed her hand and congratulated the girls for winning, and than left on his own. Although Blake did offer help. Kobalt on the other hand dug his way out of the rubble and walked toward Blake.

"That was a bold move. I never fought someone other than my team who could counter my dust gauntlet's most powerful move." Kobalt said, in a respectful tone.

"Thank you, that was a good match." Blake responded. Weiss than waved.

"Kobalt, come on. Neon's going to be really impatient with the 'I told you so!' speech of hers." Flynt yelled at Kobalt.

"Come on Weiss, let's just get to the lockers and than get you back to the dorm." Blake said... carrying Weiss, who is a bit more than beat up and worn out.

Beacon Academy, 1:31 PM, Friday, RWBY Dormitory

Blake carried Weiss all the way here... well, not fully, she was still on her two legs, but she was being assisted by Blake. When she came towards the door dorm, she noticed a hand-written sign... in Ruby's handwriting.

'Please knock before entering.' - Ruby Rose

Blake sighed and knocked on the door. In which she heard Ruby using her semblance and a series of footsteps, followed by the door opening to Ruby in her bandana, along with some lazy clothes, not full on pajamas, but clothes people wear when they're planning on staying in all day. Blake understands the caution, but does she really have to knock before entering her own dorm?

"You didn't have to knock, silly!" Ruby said in a cheerful tone.

"The sign didn't specify that." Blake stated.

"Oh, that. It's so people don't catch me with my bandana off or something we should discuss inside the dorm."

"That's a fair argument, I'll just have me and Weiss enter here and Weiss will be resting on the couch tonight."

"Ya... I saw the fight; I can understand why she needs the rest. Aura protection tends to fail when below 10%. So, chances are she is in pain right now."

Weiss made an angry look. "I can... speak for myself." she stated.

"It's great you can still talk, but you're in pain, right now." Blake said.

"Can we... just... get inside already?"

"Oh, sorry!." Ruby said, followed by moving out of the way so Blake and Weiss can enter the dorm.

Blake placed Weiss down on the couch and gave her the television remote.

"Sorry for slamming you on top of someone else." Blake apologized for Weiss.

"It's alright... you didn't have... a choice." Weiss responded.

"Wait, how did you get punched by him anyhow?"

"We were in... the Tundra Biome... and I used time dilation... to blitz him... but he interrupted me... mid-attack and punched me... with his left hand."

"That move of yours can't work 100% of the time."

"If it did... we wouldn't be having... this conversation. Can't wait... to see you... fight in the singles though."

"Wait, you're letting me fight in the singles?"

"You won the match for us... you've earned it."

"Oh, thanks Weiss. Now go rest up."

"Alright... fine."

Weiss went to try and slowly doze to sleep. Meanwhile Blake had went to check up on Ruby.

"You're thirsty or anything?" Blake asked.

"Considering all I had is a bloodpack today..." Ruby stated.

"Just bite my neck and drink what you need, I can take my shower afterwards."

"I love you too, Blake." Ruby said in a satirical tone.

Blake laughed, and moved her neck closer to Ruby so she can bite it. Ruby's so precious at times, but she needs to feed more. For the sake of her health... and everyone around her. Although she doesn't want her to drink too much. Having Blake receiving the bite, and feeling the blood leave her system to feed Ruby, sure, it's painful, but it's also a bit relaxing to say. After she feels a bit weak from blood loss, she starts to push Ruby off of her. Ruby gets the idea and let's go of her neck, followed by her quickly smooching Blake's lip.

After receiving the kiss from her girlfriend, she went on to take a shower.

Character Change: Blake Belladonna - Ruby Rose

Beacon Academy, 1:36 PM (Daylight Warning), Friday, RWBY Dormitory

Well... it's good to not feel thirsty for once. She well needed some of Blake's blood. Considering the time of day and that Yang is going to be staying in the arena for awhile... it's safe to prepare for a long nap. Ruby was already wearing some comfy clothes so she just hopped onto the bed and fell asleep... or was trying to... Ruby got up to try and adjust the curtains to make sure they're shut. The curtains are now shut. Ruby went under the sheets and proceeded to go to sleep. She made room for Blake for her to get into bed if she decided to nap along with the rest of the team in the dorm.

6 hours later

Ruby woke up and went to check the time. It's around 7 PM, so the sun is down. She than wondered around the dorm to do a head count... Blake is reading the kitchen and Weiss is asleep on the couch. And according to her texts, Yang is out with Sun. In which Ruby responded with a thumbs up emoticon.

Maybe she can go out. Maybe find some criminals to feed from. No, that's foolish crime has stopped. Wait, why did crime stop? Guess she'll need to go out to the city after all, but for a different purpose. There's only one person with information on the criminal underworld: Junior. He and Yang do not get along, especially since her sister was kicked out of his nightclub the same night, she was visiting a local dust shop and was accepted into Beacon.

Ruby got changed into her clothes, although not clothes she'd normally wear, going into the Club wouldn't look good on Ruby's reputation, and she does not want to be on the headline of a tabloid newspaper. The private press is a lot more active during this time in the media, and that means Tabloids by the count. Ruby than went toward Blake and gave her a quick kiss.

"I'll be heading out for a bit." Ruby said.

"What's with the outfit?" Blake asked.

"Oh, I'll be heading to the Club, don't want the tabloids to smear me."

"You're not planning on cheating on me, are you?"

"What, of course not! I just want to ask Junior what happened to the crime."

"Fair point. Love you."

"Love you too!" Ruby said, leaving the dorm.

She went to grab Crescent Rose and Slice of Life from her weapon locker, she walked to it because calling it over would mean she would have to pay for the roof repairs. After getting her weapons and clothes on, she changed into her bird shape in a hiding spot and went to fly downtown.

City of Vale, 8:22 PM, Friday, Downtown

Ruby flew down to an alleyway near the club and proceeded to put on a pair of sunglasses as a disguise. She walked to Junior's Club... only to find it without a bouncer, and without a bouncer that means it's closed... weird, because this place is never closed. Open 24/7. Junior typically takes the night shift on the bar. Ruby than kicked down the door to enter it.

There were no lights on, Ruby can tell because of her night vision being active indoors. And there were a lot of dead bodies. A lot of dead patrons, dead thugs both from Junior's gang and from the White Fang, bullet holes everywhere... there must have been a shootout. Doesn't look like there was any vampires here, because there was a lot of stained blood here. Junior's signature lite-huntress elite guards were also found dead, she never caught their names, but Yang said they started with the letter M, both of them. Such a shame, they would have looked more pretty if they were still alive.

And than Ruby finally saw that Junior himself did not survive this attack. Guess from the crime scene, the White Fang were getting rid of Junior, and likely getting contact for every other organized criminal organization in Vale, they're most likely dead too. Would explain the organized crime going down to zero... but the small-time criminals are gone too. And they must have put up a large fight considering the White Fang mook body count is likely around one hundred. She also took some gloves from one of the dead thugs, she's going to need them since she'll need to look into Junior's stuff to find more info. Sure, the police are useless, but she doesn't want to get arrested and falsely convicted for the one time they try and do something.

As she put the gloves on, she heard noises... sounding like a quiet screech. Ruby picked up one of the rifles from the ground, she doesn't want to use her weapons just yet.

Another scream was heard... it sounded like a grimm screech... but it was off. She saw a humanoid figure walking toward her.

"Hello?" Ruby said, calling it's attention. The figure responded with another screech, and a gunshot. Ruby wasn't sure if it was a humanoid grimm that can use guns, or just a psychopath with a raspy voice. Either way, Ruby needed to make sure.

Afterwards... Ruby can get a clear sight of the figure. It looked like it was wearing a grimm-mask. And it looks like it's wearing a suit, mostly wearing black and white. With a white dragon insignia on the shirt. It is either a survivor gone mad, or the most human-looking grimm she had ever seen. The mask also made it give out the grimm look. Like it looks like a grimm in a suit. It was mostly black; it's hands and head-shape were also black. In it's right hand was an assault rifle, same model as the one Ruby's carrying. Along with it's hair. Or at least Ruby thinks that's hair. Only thing different from the grimm is that it's eyes were shades of purple and indigo instead of the normal red and yellow grimm normally have.

"Can I help you?" Ruby asked the individual.

The individual let out a screech. Although it looks like parts of the mask were stiched together. Wonder why... and it followed by bashing Ruby with the gun in it's right hand.

"Hey! Watch it!" Ruby retorted, followed by pointing the gun at the individual.

The individual than went and shot Ruby in the chest.

"Hey, now I'm going to have to get this to the tailor." Ruby complained. She than responded by bashing the assault rifle onto the mask, breaking the stitches... revealing it's grimm mouth. The humanoid grimm now let out a screech.

Ruby than used her semblance to get behind cover and went to start shooting. Of course, these were gunpowder rounds, they were far inferior to dust rounds, mostly because they were used by common thugs. She than aimed for the right arm of the grimm... firing at it until the magazine was empty. She than threw the gun at the grimm... which than caught the gun. It is also seen infusing the gun into it's left-hand. Not sure how long it would take to find out it's new gun is empty. But Ruby needed to find a plan.

If it was made similar in design to humans, then it's weak-spots should be the same... the chest, head, and neck. Ruby went and grabbed another gun from the scene, it was a handgun. Ruby than started firing the gun toward the neck... it is seen noticing the damage as it's head structure is declining. But now it lowered the bottom half of the mask to cover the neck. Further revealing it's grimm nature. Which means if she wants to slay this grimm, she'll have to stab it in the back. Ruby than went and threw the gun aside and used her semblance to go around the grimm. She than activated her grimm claws and stabbed the back of the humanoid grimm. It led out one final screech before disappearing into nothing, leaving behind only the weapons.

After dealing with that mysterious grimm Ruby went to loot Junior's body for any information when suddenly...

"Ruby, what are you doing here?" Penny asked.

"Gah! Penny I can explain!" Ruby stated, stepping away from the corpse.

Author's Footnote: And the cliff has been hung for now. With my return, I'll bringing more chapters along with me. I decided to do a different approach with the RWBY vs FNKI fight. Figured "Hey, why not do something with Kobalt?" Considering the guy only appeared like once in the entire series. Sure, he's mostly known as a purely unarmed fighter, but I decided to give him something more. And if you didn't catch it, Blake will be advancing to the singles. As for the rest of the chapter, figured let's feature more than just canon + vampires. I told you, more stuff would be added to this. Well, if you have any feedback, let me know. If else, that's cool. And let's drop the Interview:

Vytal Tournament Interviews: Team FNKI

Interview: Flynt Coal

"Lisa Lavender here at VNN right at the courtyard interviewing one of the students not from Vale. Tell me, what is your name, sir?" Lisa asked.

"It's Flynt Coal ma'am, and I don't have the time for an interview."

"There is always time for the people of Remnant getting to know our defenders of tomorrow!"

"I'm fighting the tournament and I need to get ready for the fight."

"I'll be interviewing them too."

"Well, good luck getting Neon to stand still for more than thirty seconds."

"What team are you on?"

"Team FNKI, I'm the leader of the team."

"And why did you decide to become a huntsman?"

"I actually wanted to be musician. But my father pushed me to be a huntsman, so I figured why not be both?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"Here, let me show you." Flynt said, getting out his trumpet and blowing it out toward the camera.

The Camera was blasted in the air, recording to a series of fast blurs until someone caught it out of pure luck.

"Oooh! Free camera!" Nora said out of Excitement.

"Nora, cameras don't just fall from the sky." Jaune stated.

"Does it matter? Free camera!"

"Nora, we're not giving you a camera to do mockumentaries on us and Team RWBY."

"You didn't give me one did, it just fell from the sky!"

"That's not how Cameras work, clearly someone just threw the camera towards you and you caught it."

"But it came downward, I've thrown a lot of things and I can tell you that's not how throwing works."

"Alright but if someone is looking for a camera, you have to return it."

"Pfffft... like who could this camera belong to?"

"Excuse me, but it seems that my camera got blasted out from the place I was recording." Said the man.

"Nora, return it to the man." Jaune ordered.

"Fiiiiine. Here you go." Nora said, handing the camera to the man.

"Thank you, now I don't have to give VNN my paycheck to pay for a replacement camera." The man said, leaving the area. "Now let's just hope the editors remove anything they did with this camera."

Interview, Neon Katt

"Excuse me, Miss! Can you stop to answer some questions?" Lisa said, chasing Neon across the sheet!

"Don't try to trick me! I'm not going in that creepy van of yours!" Neon taunted, skating backwards as she was moving away from the news reporter.

"I am a news reporter; I just want to ask a few questions!"

"That explains all that hair dye and silver hairs!"

"I am not that old!"

"Whatever you say, grandma!"

"You are acting very childish!"

"And you're old enough to be put in a museum!"

"This is needlessly complicated I just need to interview you and that's all."

Neon than went and skated towards Lisa and than snatched the camera. "Yoink!" she said. She than turned behind and started recording Lisa.

"Out here, we see the tabloid in it's natural habitat, sad and lonely because it couldn't find a mate so it spends it's life making others lives much more annoying." Neon said in a mockingly narrative tone.

"THAT CAMERA IS COMPANY PROPERTY!" Lisa yelled, running towards Neon!

"She tries to intimidate it's victim, but she has no idea that huntresses aren't imitated by someone whose life goal is just slandering huntsmen just for being normal people!"

"I can assure you; we don't slander people at VNN!"

"Well, you seem very invasive. How about you just leave me alone and I'll give you back this camera?"

"Fine, just give me back the camera!"

"Here you go." Neon said, giving the camera back to Lisa Lavender. She than went off elsewhere... Lisa is left with a defeated face.

Interview: Kobalt Waters

"Lisa Lavender here at the Commercial District with one Kobalt Waters. A student of Atlas Team FNKI. What are your thoughts before we start the interview?" Lisa asked, facing Kobalt.

"Can I finish this sandwich first?" Kobalt asked.

"That's a Hotdog."

"I know, and it's a sandwich."

"A hotdog is not a sandwich!"

"Sure, it is, it's a piece of bread or bread-like product containing or constraining a quantity of ingredients."

"Sandwiches need to have two pieces of bread on top of each-other to be sandwiches!"

"No, it doesn't."

"Yes, it does, it is in the dictionary definition."

"The Atlas council declared a Hotdog a sandwich two years ago."

"And we're not in Atlas now, are we?"

"And I don't care, it's a sandwich, and I'll keep referring it as one."

"Very well. I guess I'll just interview someone else, then."

"Fine by me."

Interview: Ivori Tomes

"Lisa Lavender here, with member of Team FNKI, Ivori Tomes. Do you have anything to say before we begin?" Lisa asked.

"Why exactly are you interviewing us before the rest of the Beacon Students?" Ivori asked.

"Well, the company said I needed to review the teams in a very specific order. But this is not about me, it's about you. So, tell me, why did you become a huntsman?"

"So, I don't have News Reporters all over my face every single day in my life."

"That's rude."

"It's true. I aspire to be a fashion designer. And I don't want tabloids pestering me when I fight monsters or design clothes. Or Weapons perhaps."

"Designing weapons?"

"I built the weapons my team used, and made their outfits. I'm typically a busy person because of it."

"What can you tell me about your team?"

"Flynt. Great guy. Good Trumpeter too. Although he used a stock weapon in his initiation, but I built him the trumpet he uses today to be used for music and combat purposes. He also runs a jazz band back in Atlas called: 'Dusty Flynt'."

"That's an interesting name choice."

"Apparently it's to honor his father's dust shop."

"What about the rest of your team?"

"Neon is quite Unique to say. Although she is the most annoying jerk you'd ever meet, once you get to be her friend, she's less annoying to hang out with. She roller blades in her free-time. I recommended some skating boots for weapons, but she wanted Nun-chucks, so I figured, whynot glowsticks?"

"How interesting."

"As for Kobalt. Well, he's pretty straightforward. Mostly hand-to-hand. He rarely ever uses his gauntlet, but when he does oh boy does he put a dent in the Atlassian Dust supply. He's the most blunt and serious person I've ever met. But he is a great fighter all and all."

"And yourself?"

"I am a fashion designer and engineer, simple enough. I just learn combat and fight grimm because I don't do it for the fame or the tabloids. I do it for the passion. Now if you excuse me, I'll be off elsewhere." Ivori said... leaving.

Interview Footnote: And that's the FNKI Interview. Not much to say here other than what do you think. So... see ya next chapter.
