Chapter Fourteen- Locked and Loaded

August 8th, 2019

Officer Nicholas P. Wilde, ZPD/SAS

Mission- Operation Fracture Jaw

Location- Happytown, Zootopia

The sound of helicopters and gunfire filled Officer Nicholas Wilde's ears as Team 1 was lined up along the movable barricades and mobile guard towers that blocked the road to the Confinement Zone, all of them now kitted in both SWAT and SAS gear.

. . .

Sergeant Leonard Grizzoli- Lion. Team Leader

He was in the front of the officers, once again leaning against the quickly erected wall surrounding the Confinement Zone and peering through the gap. But the lion didn't seem anxious this time, his face was angry as he looked into the abandoned city. He was equipped with the same M16A4 and M1911 he had three days before, with a fair amount of ammunition and assortment of grenades. His mane was shaved and hidden underneath his helmet.

Officer Richard Mchorn— Rhino, Mobile cover, heavy fire support and suppression.

He almost looked like a walking tank; his armor was thick and undoubtedly heavy, and he carried a beast of a weapon, an M240 machine gun and a SAW MG, each of which had to be modified for his large frame and to fit his paw pads . . . The weapon was practically the same size as the fox observing him, probably even bigger.

The rhino held a large SWAT mobile cover; or essentially a large ballistic shield that was so heavy and big, only the largest and strongest mammals of the ZPD could carry it while smaller mammals took cover behind it.

It was a different shield from the one he originally went in with though, but the rhino felt almost invincible in his gear. He often bragged about how he could count how many times he's been shot and not felt a thing due to his naturally thick skin.

Officer Sebastian Delgato— Tiger, Riflemammal.

Unlike three days ago, Delgato was wearing a helmet now, he usually didn't because he claimed it got in the way of his shooting . . . He was wearing earphones despite now being deaf in one ear, bobbing his head up and down with his eyes closed. He was the marksmammal of the squad, holding the same EBR 14 for long range encounters and Mp7 smg for close range ones.

Officer Johnathan Fangmeyer— Arctic Wolf, Pointmammal.

Fang was the original rookie . . . A long time ago, now he was one of SWAT's best, being pointmammal for his squad meant that he'd always go first, and was especially skilled in paw to paw combat when it came to it. But as shown in the last couple of days, that didn't mean he was made of steel. Right now he was chewing a piece of gum as he slouched against the wall. The wolf wielded the same combination of an M4 carbine and a sheathed M1014 Benelli semi-auto shotgun on his back; he carried a Beretta M9 pistol on his waist as well.

His white fur was covered with a makeshift urban style camouflage pattern on his face, despite the urban camouflage he was wearing, courtesy of the SAS. And speaking of the SAS.

S.A.S Sergeant Charlie Redbone— Gray Wolf. Sniper, demolitions expert, negotiator.

Though Nick didn't know much about the wolf, Charlie Redbone was the best sniper in the British SAS, after looking him up, Nick found that Redbone could shoot a dime from 100 miles away, right dead in the center . . . Among other things that were quite frankly bewildering to him.

The gray wolf was leaning against the wall too, chewing on a piece of gum that Fangmeyer offered him; looking up at the sky as he chewed. He had an AX-50, 50 BMG sniper rifle on his back, along with both a Dragunov semi automatic sniper rifle and a "Rytec AMR" anti materiel rifle, that was equipped with both explosive and thermite rounds but the Wolf claimed that the rifle was so powerful that it could pierce through a SWAT truck, a brick wall and hit another brick wall in a single shot. He held an MP5 submachine gun in his arms as well, it seemed to be fit with a holographic sight with an odd looking reticle. But that was nothing compared to the only mammal on the other side of the wall.

Officer Jonathan Price— Grizzly Bear. Captain. heavy fire support, suppression.

Nick had heard many many things about Officer Price, he was one of the oldest and most experienced SWAT officers in the country, at the ripe age of 62. The Grizzly was leaning against the wall with a bullet sized cigar lit in his mouth, smoke billowed up from the brown cylinder as he fixed his hat. The grizzly was the only mammal without a helmet, wearing a large woodland camo boonie hat that was tipped downwards to the left and a pair of pitch black sunglasses, with urban camouflaged SAS gear below it all.

The Grizzly had what looked like an M60 machine gun in his giant paws as he stood there, with an M16A1 on his back that looked straight from the Vietnam War, the M16 seemed to have a grenade launcher below the barrel as well. Another MP5 was holstered on his side that also seemed to be custom. Beside that was what looked like a 44 Magnum revolver and on the other holster, an M1911, next to the handles of two knives and an assortment of grenades and a radio ready to be put to his mouth.

Officer Nicholas P. Wilde- Red Fox, Rookie. no designated role.

Nick stood straight and looked at the wall in front of him with a rather blank stare, he held his M4A1 in his paws and gripped it with anger. Though he was still a bit unsure of himself, he was definitely determined to get some payback for their first attempt.

He was in the same urban camouflage that Fangmeyer, Redbone and Price were in; he could feel the armor plates underneath his vest as large bumps on his torso.

Nick was decently shorter than everyone in the SWAT team at about 5,8, which was even shorter than Fangmeyer, despite his size though Nick wanted to give Rouen and his men a piece of him.

He wielded the combination of an M4A1 assault rifle, Mp5 and the 1911 that Bogo had given him and Judy a month prior, and he was determined to use everything he had against the criminals in the city.

. . .

The eight mammals stood there in silence as they waited to be sent into Happytown, the silence didn't last though as Officer Price suddenly took the cigar out of his mouth and smoke billowed from his muzzle.

The bear stood straight and looked at the seven mammals "the SAS is here, get ready" he said as the SWAT Team watched five large, unmarked vans park just feet away from the wall and open their doors. The doors opened and two SAS teams jumped out from each van, walking over to the SWAT team slowly.

A total of fifty mammals stopped in front of them as Charlie Redbone walked over to one in front "you know your orders?" the Dire Wolf nodded "sure do Charlie, Team's one, two and three are with you, the rest'll be a few blocks apart" Nick watched Charlie nod "s'good to see you mate" the Dire Wolf nodded again "you too, now let's get this black cat . . . Team 1! Get your bloody asses over here!" the wolf yelled as a large African elephant visibly weaved their way towards them.

When the elephant made it through, there was a squad of three mammals behind them "ready when you are Charlie" the massive mammal said, practically holding a small arsenal on their back. Next to the elephant were a dingo, jaguar and a tiger, the elephant was the largest mammal Nick had ever seen, even larger than the elephants he's encountered in Savannah District.

He watched Redbone turn to them "this is SAS Team 1, they're one of the most experienced SAS Teams we have" "Damn right we are, aren't we mates?" The dire wolf said with a laugh as there were multiple affirmations from the four mammals behind him.

"Diego Gonzalez" The Dire Wolf said, introducing himself "behind me is Marcus Ivory, Steve Bundy, James Manchez and Alex Sabertooth" he said pointing to the elephant first and the tiger last.

"Officer Price, it's a pleasure meeting you" Gonzalez said shaking the grizzly's hand, Price only nodded "Ivory, stick with Mchorn . . . Gonzalez, Sabertooth, Manches and Bundy, you're with us" Price said, almost ordering the SAS soldiers. Nick watched the five mammals fall into line.

. . .

Officer Johnathan Fangmeyer watched as five SAS soldiers stood behind the SWAT team, he saw Price grab the radio and speak into it "this is Bravo Six to Checkpoint One, SAS teams are in position" Bogo's voice came through "hard copy Bravo Six, Raptor One and Eagle One are in the sky, Team 1 you have the go ahead" Price put the radio away and nodded.

The bear looked at Fang and the SWAT team, pushing his sunglasses down "let's go find this bastard" he said as the wall opened.
