Author's Headnote: Well, it's time for the Blake chapter. Well, I know what you're thinking "a whole section of boat chapters?" Well, that's boring! And then you forget who is writing this fanfiction, something is going to happen, it isn't just going to be Blake just sitting in the boat, something is going to occur. And no, she is not on the SS pride in this timeline, but it is still headed to the same destination.

And no, Sun did not sneak onto the boat. Which means Sun will not make an appearance in the Blake chapters. So let's jump to the chapter!

The SS Canterbury, December 12, Friday, 8:07 PM, Blake's Makeshift Private Quarters

The SS Canterbury is a cargo ship, built in Mistral and transferred to Valean authority. It's primary purpose is transferring supplies such as food, water, resources, etcetera to Menagerie. The island itself doesn't have much fertile land so the farmland is very small, and given Menagerie's population, it's not enough to sustain it. Given that Menagerie is a dependency of the Kingdom of Vale, it's the Kingdom's duty to keep it supplied and it's people happy. It's a mid-sized ship, not many passengers. With Blake being the exception here. It's mostly just the captain and some Valean navy and marine soldiers. So, they weren't so much company.

Blake had boarded the bullhead 5 PM on Sunday, December 7. although she has watched the fights, and has seen Penny fire a hole in Pyrrha's chest, she turned off the TV. And proceeded to head to sleep for the rest of the night whilst on the bullhead. The day after she had reached the docks, and the only ship available for her to ride on was the Canterbury since the Pride wouldn't be arriving to the docking station until three months from now.

The ship does move slower, but it's a lot more heavily armed. She's not allowed to eat or drink the stuff in storage, so she's been fishing for her food and was drinking filtered ocean water. There was that time she drank some of the crew member's beer... the crew forgave her, but told her not to do it again. Hence, the water filter.

It's not a cruise ship, but it'll do.

She's been given a makeshift Private Quarters, from a spare room more so used for people who have sunken overboard. There are plenty of rooms like this, but this was the best of the two options available. The second one didn't really have a bed suitable for a leg injury.

In addition, Blake couldn't really wear her combat outfit. So, she's wearing a T-shirt, along with an asymmetrical pair of pants. With the left pant leg being down to her ankle, like a regular pair of pants with wearing a slipper on her left foot, whilst the right one was a pair designed for Blake's caste, a loose fitting short-legged, almost hot-pants length leg. Of course, the pants were grey, and the shirt itself was a graphic T with a black shirt with a purple logo on it. She still wears the bow on her head, mostly because the staff here are all human, save for one member of the crew... including Blake. Her right, and injured leg was covered in the cast up to the hip to prevent any leg movement from hindering her knee from healing.

Yes, Blake had a leg injury, remember? That's why she's going to Menagerie. So that she can heal her injury and mind from the fight in the arena. Hence, the crutches, and not Gambrol Shroud, which was broken during the fight.

But anyways, Blake was lying on the bed. After finishing her freshly caught and cooked fish and drank some water. She was reading some old book she found. It's apparently a fantasy novel written as a biography to some knight who betrayed his king to overthrow him, because the knight had pitied the people he had fought. It's an interesting book.

Well, then suddenly, some of the crew was shouting. Out of curiosity, Blake had gotten up, got her crutches, and went up to the deck to see what the commotion was about. Well, not immediately, she still needed to get up first, not to mention her crutches had fallen down without support which means she has to bend down and reach them. Well, she has to get one of her crutches first. She tried not to move her injured leg as she went to get one of her crutches.

There she goes... leaning on her back, reaching to get her crutches. The is is a terrible idea... but her lack of caution with placing the crutches lead to the actions. She reached out and grabbed one of the crutches, and then used it to get make the other closer for her to grab. After that Blake places the crutches on her bed, as she turned around, picks the crutches back up, and proceeds to pull herself up to the ground to head up to the deck, walking past the corridor.

The SS Canterbury, December 12, Friday, 8:14 PM, Ship Deck

Given it's a transport ship, designed by a mistralian craftsmanship. Of course, there would be some draconic decorative detail on the ship's deck. Albeit it's a bit worn down since Valean military ships don't really focus on beauty. So, it's some weird engraving on the deck floor.

But no less, Blake went to investigate the commotion. Although it seems the navy and marines officials seem surprised by Blake's attendance.

"What are you doing up here!?" one of the crewmates asked.

"I was just investigating what was making the large noise." Blake stated, being held up with her crutches.

"Oh nothing, it's just a large Sea Feilong attacking the ship!"

The Sea Feilong. The water dragon grimm that wanders around the deep parts of the ocean. Given the sea-serpent's tremendous size, it can be around sixty foot in length. This one appears to be sixty-three feet in length. And it's currently attacking the ship.

Unfortunately, Blake has to sit this one out. Thankfully, given it's a military ship, it has much more firepower than a civilian ship. The ship canons are firing on the Sea Feilong, but it seems to not do much against the grimm. Even the marines and navy sailors firing at the grimm seem to not do anything. If anything, it seems like the Sea Feilong is shrugging it off.

"Don't you guys have any stronger ammo?" Blake asked.

"The Sea Feilong is too close, we would blow up if we tried any of the strong stuff!" the crewmate responded.

"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"What? You!?"

"I may be crippled, but I don't need legs to fight, just a stable aura."

"Aura booster's in the armory. Take what you need to fight and bring it back once the Sea Feilong is dead."

"On it." Blake said, heading toward the armory.

"THERE'S A MAN FLOATING IN THE OCEAN ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THE SHIP!" one of the marines yelled.

"The word you are looking for is: Overboard." the second marine said.

"Still, we need to help him!"

Blake was about to get herself ready to fight a giant grimm whilst injured, she can help the man later. For now, she's getting to the armory.

The SS Canterbury, December 12, Friday, 8:22 PM, Ship Armory

The ship armory was filled with armaments, equipment, weapons, etc. Basically, what's expected for any military transport ship is to have incase of emergencies. And it is an emergency. She first grabs a bag, and takes a whole jeep of lightning dust rounds for the marines to load up, and for herself, obviously. She also grabs some extendable bayonets and attaches them to her crutches. They're at a place they can extend for combat use but not poking wholes when used for the crutches intended purpose.

Although given the state of the crutches, she really cannot have a gun-addon to the crutches, given that these things are meant to help Blake out while her leg is healing... after that, she has to find a new weapon. Not to mention, she'll have to give the bayonets and aura booster back. In which, she put the aura booster on, powered by lightning dust, it can increase her aura up to 300%. Aura going over 100% tends to be a bit wonky, as it would be unstable if not supported by an outside source, such as the aura booster. This would give her plenty of time to use her semblance to measures to help her get up to the Sea Feilong.

But afterwards she had noticed something on her way out... a book with a note on it. She picked up the note and read it.

So... I found this book around a pile of old clothes and some ash, wonder what was going on there... anyway it's an entirely blank book with an incredibly fancy cover, and some guy from Vacuo said he would pay plenty for this, so after we get there, I'm going to resign and move to paradise. And if you're reading this, chances are that I already sold the book I was talking about, and it was definitely not below the note that you are reading right now.

- PVT. Jenkins

After that, she looked down and saw the book, the cover said 'Vampirica Encyclopedia, Volume 2'. Well, Blake is definitely taking this with her, no need to let that book get in the wrong hands. Although this might be a fake given that the note said the pages were all blank. Yet again, knowing how secretive vampires are, there might be some encryption keeping people like Pvt. Jenkins form learning vampiric secrets. Around November, she had read through all the chapters of the first volume, well... all except the last one. Even then, this book would be more useful towards Ruby, but she can give this to Ruby when she sees her again.

But she has a Sea Feilong to fight, so no time to ponder on vampires right now.

The SS Canterbury, December 12, Friday, 8:30 PM, Ship Deck

Blake got up the deck and gave the marines the dust rounds, lightning dust is potent against aquatic grimm. As per Port's teachings, of course if they had known that, they would have packed the lightning dust rounds in their rifles at standard.

She still had some lightning dust powering the aura booster, in which she has turned on. She can feel the aura being overcharged; it feels painful. Although detrimental to healing, she rather be alive with a broken leg than dead. She used her semblance to get herself in the air the Sea Feilong started to flap it's wings to try and push Blake back. Of course, she needed to go after the wings first and than the head. The grimm started to breathe fire onto the boat, in which ends up damaging it.

And then screaming was heard from the marines, who than died.

"Well, there goes PVT. Jenkins and PVT. Wilhelm." the Captain said without a tone of emotion in his voice.

Blake has a small amount of time before the boat sinks, and she and the crew would die. So, she keeps using her semblance to create makeshift platforms. As she hops toward the wings. One shadow clone at a time... in extra detail, the shadow clones appear to be missing a leg. As she got close, she extended the bayonets on her crutches and stabbed the wing closest to her, which was the grimm's left wing. Although it caught on the boneless part of the wing, so she's being dragged down... she then pulled one of the crutches away from the wing and hit somewhere with a bone. In which she then somersaulted onto the wing and then went to use the blades to climb it. After it reaches a certain point the Feilong notices and tries to flap Blake off, it worked, Blake was off, but she managed to tear a wing off... meaning if it could fly, it can't now.

Blake was back on the other side of the deck, sheathing the bayonets. As she went and clone hopped back to hit, but the Feilong appears to be smart and starts to target after Blake. Constantly firing fireballs at her instead of the ship. And one did hit. If it weren't for her boosted aura, she would have been dead.

She did her best to avoid more fireballs, taking more caution and attacking from above. The Feilong caught on and tried to bite on, but instead it caught on Blake's bow and ripped it off, revealing her cat ears. But it did save her life as she grabbed onto the neck of the Feilong by extending the blades of the crutches. and then started to rip downward, killing the grimm. Afterwards, she used her clones to get a smooth landing and disabled the blades on her bayonet, creating a rough landing, and her cast didn't break.

Afterwards she went and handed the aura booster and bayonets back to the captain and proceeded to head back to her private quarters, meanwhile a bunch of marines were carrying a man toward a similar destination.

He appeared to have lost his left arm up to the shoulder, and his left foot is missing. He also seems to be badly mauled and disfigured, Blake gagged in disgust when looking at his face... or what little of it was left. Most of it appeared to be burnt off. What did that guy get himself into that made him this mess? No matter, Blake decided it'll be best to fall asleep for the rest of the night.

Character Change: Blake Belladonna - Dream Blake

Blake's Subconscious, Time does not exist in this realm, Nightmare of Betrayed Love

Blake found herself on the deck of the SS Canterbury... although this time she has working legs. As in plural, this is new, given her latest nightmares have her crippled. She walks around and hears cries in pain... Blake, being unarmed, goes the other direction. There, she headed toward the quarters... so... she heads toward the farthest room and locks the door.

She tried not to make a noise, she tried to keep calm, she knows who's the villain in this nightmare is, and she is not going to let her subconscious have the last laugh, she loves Ruby, she shouldn't be afraid of her.

Although the nightmare has other plans.

"Blaaaaaake, where are you? Don't you love me?" The evil Ruby said, trying to tempt Blake to come out.

She loves the real Ruby, not this evil manifestation of her. There is a difference between the two, she knows Ruby wouldn't easily become this... thing. It doesn't even use Crescent Rose so it doesn't even accurately represent Ruby. But she does know she is defenseless against it, so she's hiding from it from right now.

"I'm sorry that I scared you, I just wanted to make you feel safe." The evil Ruby said, trying to coerce Blake to come out.

Oh no, oh no... she already felt for that last time. She's not going to come out again.

And as soon as she thought that, she heard the locked door trying to turn open, and than the evil Ruby comes out and breaks it open. It than sees Blake and smiled. "Ah... there you are, I was worried I'd lose you, my little pet." It said, smirking.

"You are not Ruby!" Blake yelled.

"Are you saying that to me, or yourself?" The evil Ruby said, using it's sword to stab Blake two inches right of the heart.

"If you love me, why are you trying to kill me?" Blake asked.

"So that you can't run away from me anymore." after it said that, a huge grimm blade formed from the left arm in a position to decapitate Blake.

Character Change: Dream Blake - Blake Belladonna

The SS Canterbury, December 13, Saturday, 2:16 AM, Blake's Makeshift Private Quarters

Blake led out a scream as she woke up. And thankfully, it was just a nightmare. That fight with Emerald and her illusions have messed with her on a subconscious scale. She'll just have to find a way to break this mental spell of her before she could have a good night's sleep.

But no less, she doesn't feel tired so she may as well look into the contents in the Encyclopedia... and they're blank... well, maybe it can only be read by a vampire? That wouldn't explain why the first volume is readable, though. Well, no less, she might give this to Ruby when she sees her again.

Blake did make sure she hid the book somewhere safe.

And as she put the book away, someone opened the door to her quarters...

"Hi... excuse me... but you appeared to have woken me up." the man said, he appears to have his entire face save for nostrils and mouth, and his left eye covered in bandages, his eye is a dark green. He also appears to have a makeshift peg leg on his left leg.

"Oh... sorry, I had a nightmare." Blake said.

"Nightmare... care to tell it to me?"

"Why are you curious about my nightmares?"

"If you explained it to me, it might help you."

"Very well. Well, recently... after I've gotten a hallucination whilst fighting... I've been getting nightmares... about my girlfriend..."

"Oh? Do tell."

"She was looking for me, and after a bit... she didn't want me to 'run away' so... she tries to kill me."

"How is the relation with your partner."

"It's actually pretty good, she was loving... caring..."

"Think carefully, has there been moments where she wasn't all that benevolent to you?"

"No, not really, she's pretty much a sweet, yet shy person."

"Well, think of her like that, not what your subconscious thinks of her."

"Do you think that would work?"

"I'm not so sure, but it wouldn't hurt to try."

"Just out of curiosity... what happened to your arm?"

"My... arm? Well, I can't remember, honestly."

"You don't remember how you lost your arm?"

"No, not at all."

"Huh, weird. Do you remember anything?"

"No, not really. Nor does it bother me."

"So... you're just fine with... forgetting your entire identity?"

"I don't think I had much to begin with."

"Well, that's just sad."

"I'll be heading back to bed now. I hope you don't have another nightmare."

"You too. Good night." Blake said, as the man went and left.

After that, Blake figured she'd get some rest. She'll get back to menagerie soon enough. Hopefully she won't have another nightmare.

Author's Footnote: Given the mono perspective of these chapters, expect shorter chapters in comparison to those taking up Volume 3 in the timeline. I also didn't want this chapter to be boring in comparison to the last chapter, and the next one. Speaking of, don't be afraid to leave feedback. I hope you've enjoyed the chapter and the next chapter will be coming, which will be the Jaune chapter.
