Chapter Twenty One- Old Comrades

August 8th 2019, 5:00 PM

Officer Judy Hopps, ZPD

Location- ZPD Checkpoint 1, Happytown Zootopia.

Officer Judy Hopps huffed in complete boredom as she stood outside of the operating room. Her partner had just gotten himself in a firefight alongside the ZPD and SAS, risking his life so much, and she was simply standing around and in crutches.

What's worse is that she wasn't even allowed in the operations room, so she was practically useless. All she had was a radio and that was it, she wanted to go in and help Nick so badly and in any way possible, but whenever she even mentioned it, Judy was shot down by the chief.

Chief Bogo simply would not let her go anywhere, even if she had gotten much better over the past few days. And even if Nick had told her not to worry about him when she visited, she was still almost hellbent in seeing her partner again.

And here she was . . . Stuck on the sidelines.

Although, right now . . . She leaned against the wall, completely unsure what to do, tapping her foot very quickly as she waited for someone to exit the room.

But what could she do though? She was still pondering that question when someone finally exited and turned to her.

"Hopps, are you really going to stand here all day? Go home" Chief Bogo almost ordered as Judy quickly shook her head.

"I can't Chief, I won't leave until I see Nick" she said stubbornly, her words made the Cape Buffalo huff and look up.

"Fine . . ." He then began going back inside "if you're going to stay here then you might as well do something" he said as Judy followed him in.

"I'll do anything Chief" she said urgently as Bogo turned to her with a raised brow "anything?" Judy nodded "as long as I can help Nick" she said, determined.

"And I don't want desk work Chief . . . I wanna help-" "I know, Hopps" Bogo interrupted impatiently.

He looked at the computers and radios in the operations room and then at her, sighing suddenly and shaking his head.

"We have a helicopter going out to provide eyes to Team 1. If you INSIST . . . I'll allow you to get on-" Judy nodded quickly "yes! That's perfect" she said ecstatically.

The buffalo put his hoof up though "but don't do anything stupid, Hopps, you may not need crutches but your still injured" Judy was somewhat confused at this.

"Don't run into the line of fire, and don't try to get on the ground either . . . You're only going to observe, am I understood?" The buffalo ordered as her ears dipped down a bit.

"Okay . . . When will it be here?" Judy asked as Bogo looked out the window "any minute" he said as the sound of rotors grew closer and closer. When the helicopter came into view though, it wasn't blue and white, but black, gray and unmarked.

"Is . . . That it?" she asked.

"No . . ." Bogo said in obvious confusion as Judy was brought outside.

Judy and the chief ran outside as the black helicopter was landing on the helipad, its rotors slowly coming to a stop as it touched the ground.

It was very large and definitely not any type of helicopter the ZPD used, in fact it looked a lot like a military helicopter than anything else, and this was further confirmed by two large guns in the front of the aircraft.

The cockpit was lifted open as the rotors came to a complete stop, and a polar bear in a camouflage uniform hopped down from it.

She looked at Bogo, who was just staring at the vehicle before shaking his head and walking forward "that son of a bitch . . ."

Judy followed him, very confused as they walked towards the bear, who waved.

"Adrian Bogo! It is good to see you again!" They spoke in a thick Russian accent.

"Belikov! what the bloody hell are you doing here!?" Bogo shouted as the bear walked up to them and laughed.

"Do not worry! I come in peace" they said putting their paws up "and I come bearing gifts" he said holding two bottles of alcohol in front of them.

The chief grabbed the bottles and looked at them "is this vodka?" "Da, it is Russian, I owe you, for Afghanistan" they said as Bogo shook his paw.

"Consider the score even then, why are you here, Belikov?" he asked as they began walking, seemingly forgetting Judy as she followed them.

"The Captain called asking for my assistance, so I came," the bear explained as they made it to the checkpoint.

"To help with Rouen?" Judy inquired and interrupted the conversation "Da! As skilled as SWAT is, they will not be able to do much against that panther's army" they said as Bogo looked down at her.

"Hopps, I'm sorry for not introducing you, this is Ivan Belikov, he's a Spetsnaz captain and an old comrade of mine . . . And a mediocrely skilled helicopter pilot" there was a chuckle from Ivan.

"That is an understatement Mrs Hopps, I have flown your chief out of . . . Hot situations . . . Many many times before" he said with an odd smile.

Judy nodded "Judy Hopps, it's . . . Nice to meet you . . ." she said, still confused.

"The one and only, believe me Mrs Hopps, your many feats have been recognized much throughout ALL of Russia" he said loudly.

"Why would he call you? We already have enough men in there" Bogo said with suspicion.

"You can never have enough men to track that panther down, Adrian . . . Russia has a large target on his head" he said as they went inside.

They walked through the checkpoint and into the operating room, Belikov looked at all of the computers and radios on the tables.

"You're going to be flying in there?" Bogo asked as he took a seat "yes, to provide assistance when I'm needed" the chief nodded and looked at Judy.

"Hopps . . . You're going with Ivan then" Judy blinked at this before nodding "okay, when are we leaving?"

"Soon, very soon" he said walking out, Bogo and Judy followed him.

"I wish we were speaking in better circumstances, Belikov" Bogo said as they walked outside again.

"I disagree! There is no better time for Soviets to speak, than when they MUST persevere!" He shouted, making a fist and shaking it.

Bogo chuckled, something that was rare when on the job "seven years and you're still so damn enthusiastic about getting shot at."

"Of course! What else is there to get the blood pumping through my veins?" The polar bear said with yet more enthusiasm.

They walked up to the large helicopter and Belikov slid the side door open, revealing the inside of the vehicle.

On the edge and right in front of her was a massive six barreled minigun mounted a few inches away from the edge.

Judy marveled at it as Belikov laughed heartily "I guarantee your police helicopters are not equipped with these, Adrian . . ."

"Jesus Christ Ivan, you think?" Bogo said in audible astonishment.

"Do you . . . really think we'll need to use those?" Judy asked with clear hesitation and looked up at the two worriedly.

"I am betting good money on it. Officer Hopps, Rouen's men . . . They are more like soldiers than criminals, and they are cold blooded killers" Belikov said, nodding his head.

"In Russia, we anticipate these things, and in Spetsnaz we fight enemies like this ALL the time, besides . . . This will give opportunity for you to help your comrades despite your injuries" he explained with a smile.

Judy then watched Ivan climb into the helicopter and slap the side of the door "come, Officer Hopps!" He said, offering his paw to her.

Judy took the bear's paw and was lifted up into the vehicle "we must hurry, we do not have all day!" Belikov said as they stood in front of Bogo.

"Chief, you are free to tag along . . . It will be just like old times" the bear said, extending his paw out in front of the police chief.

"Not today Ivan, my officers need me here right now" Bogo refused, despite his tough voice, Judy noticed that there was a fair amount of sincerity in his words.

"I understand, Adrian, make sure to tell your helicopter to go in with us, the more firepower we have the better" Ivan said as the door quickly shut in front of her.

"Officer Hopps, these are for you" he said, handing her a bunny sized pilot helmet with a microphone on it and a kevlar vest.

"If we are going to help our comrades, we must be prepared" Belikov explained as Judy put the helmet over her head and strapped on the vest.

"I couldn't agree more, Ivan . . . Is Ivan fine?" Judy second guessed as she looked up at the bear.

"It is what I prefer when in Zootopia" Ivan said as the blades of the helicopter began to spin.

But Judy watched a familiar looking wolf run towards Chief Bogo and yell, though he was limping as he ran.

Bogo turned around and saw the mammal heading towards them as the helicopter remained level on the ground.

. . .

Officer Micheal Wolford watched as Judy Hopps was walked over to a large helicopter by chief Bogo and a polar bear, and simply stared at it happening, but then he got an idea.

Even if it was a very stupid one, he acted on it mere seconds afterward and began to make his way over.

Wolford was still severely wounded and impaired, despite his many stab wounds being treated within two days and being cleared for light duty.

Most of them hadn't healed fully though, they were still bloody and very very visible as large cuts, gashes and scars all over his body, from his head and arms, and covering his chest and legs. They hurt incredibly badly but he could manage it.

He limped toward the helicopter as quickly as he could, whinsing and trying not to yelp in pain as he began running towards them.

As the helicopter's rotors began to spin, Wolford pushed himself to run faster, eventually the Chief turned around.

"Chief!" Wolford shouted as he came to an abrupt stop "what is it Wolford?" Bogo responded as the officer gripped his leg and caught his breath.

"Is Judy going into the exclusion zone?" He asked, looking at the bunny in the helicopter.

"She is" Bogo affirmed "I wanna go with her" Wolford said immediately after.

Bogo shook his head "absolutely not, you're still recovering" the wolf looked at the helicopter and at his superior hastily "sir . . . I got team one into this mess, the least I can do is help them out of it" Wolford said earnestly.

He watched Bogo look at the helicopter and at Judy "are you sure about this Mike?" the rabbit asked with concern.

"If you're going in, then I will too" he answered with determination.

The polar bear from before walked in front of them "you have spirit, officer, but your injuries . . . They look serious" they said in a Russian accent.

"I don't care, I want to come with you" Wolford repeated as the bear nodded "but we are in need of another gunner, Adrian . . . ?"

He watched the chief look at him intensely and sigh, shaking his head "I'll allow it, but Micheal, don't do anything stupid" Bogo said as he nodded.

"I understand, sir" he affirmed as a large paw was outstretched in front of him "come, officer" the polar bear said as Micheal grabbed it and was pulled up.

As he stood inside the helicopter, he looked at the large minigun beside him "where'd you get this thing?" He asked amusedly as they began to ascend

"That, I cannot tell you, but it will be more than enough," the bear said in the cockpit.

"How are you holding up, Mike?" Judy asked with concern as he turned to her.

"Still hurting, but I'll live, I want some damn payback" Wolford said earnestly, before walking over and taking a seat.

"So what do you know about Fyodorov?" Judy inquired as she stood next to the cockpit.

"Many things, Fyodorv is a real gynuk among bastards" the polar bear replied with a Russian word in the middle.

"Yeah . . . I figured that out the hard way" Wolford added with anger.

He watched the bear tilt his head in interest "you have encountered him before? Officer?" "Wolford . . ." He clarified before continuing "and yeah, I was sent in before everyone else to get some inside info on Rouen . . . Let's just say it didn't exactly go as planned."

The bear let out a long sigh "I am . . . Sorry, Fyodorov is notoriously cruel, merciless, if you were captured I am surprised you managed to escape"

"It wasn't easy, that's for damn sure, everyone had to go in to save my tail" Wolford said with a hint of guilt.

"There is no shame in that, officer Wolford, I have saved your Chief's tail on many many occasions, or 'pull a hero' as he calls it . . ."

"You show a sense of duty for willing to help your comrades" he finished.

"Well . . . I wouldn't be a police officer if I didn't have one" he said, getting up and looking out from the helicopter's window.

"You've gone after him before . . . Ivan? Do you prefer that?" Judy asked as Wolford looked at the cockpit.

"It is what they call me here, and yes . . . He is one of the most wanted men in the world, Fyodorov was high up on the KGB's radar when he began building his criminal empire" he said shaking his head.

"KGB?" Wolford said in surprise "da, I was in the KGB, however Spetsnaz suits me much much better" he nodded.

He looked at Judy and then at the polar bear "I never caught your name . . ." "I am Ivan Belikov, your chief called for me to help, so I came" Ivan introduced himself.

"Good to know then . . . So when do you think we'll get there?" Wolford asked impatiently.

"I have no location on Team 1 right now . . . All I was told is that they were heading North" Ivan explained as he flew.

"But keep in mind, officers, we are only providing fire support when it is needed, if I were to land in a firefight, it would be suicidal" he added.

"With those things?" Judy pointed to the two large miniguns on either side of the aircraft, Wolford saw a smile on Ivan's face "correct, it should be more than enough . . ."

"I like the look of that" Wolford added with a bit of a malicious smile.

He sat and waited as the three mammals made their way across Happytown, ready to get payback for what Rouen did to him and his fellow officers.

AN: So that's much more of an introduction to Belikov! Belikov is an . . . Interesting character, to say the least, you could call him the stereotypical Russian and I wouldn't argue with ya, but other than that, as Task Force 141's third member, he's important. Also I wanted to shine upon Belikov's friendship with Bogo, how Bogo recognizes him immediately and all that. And Judy is going in with Belikov and Wolford to give Team 1 some close fire support, and they're both angry about what's happening in Happytown. Sorry if this AN seems a bit . . . Meh . . . I'm posting this at like 11 PM so I'm pretty worn out, but like I said, I'm gonna try and post these more often, gotta keep ya'll updated with the story. And I know I sound like a broken record at this point but I would GREATLY appreciate any kind of feedback here, be it reviews or anything, y'all have no idea how much that'll keep me going, and the only 'review' I've gotten so far was some guy promoting their own story. So yeah . . . I'm practically begging someone to give some feedback here.

But anywho, I should probably go to bed now, so caio and till next time.
