As Dumbledore's funeral came to an end Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, along with the remaining Hogwarts students boarded the Hogwarts Express, bound for King Cross Station. While Ron and Hermione went to perform their prefect duties one last time, Harry, Ginny, Neville, and Luna, accompanied by Hedwig, Pigwidgeon, and Crookshanks were left to find an empty compartment, which was not a difficult task. When parents received a letter telling of Dumbledore's death, many students were quickly pulled out of school and not allowed to attend Dumbledore's funeral for fear of another attack.
When Harry, Ginny, Neville, and Luna settled into an empty compartment, the mood was uneasy. Although there was little to no noise heard throughout the train, a different, uncomfortable silence could be found in the compartment that Harry, Ginny, Neville, Luna, Hedwig, Pigwidgeon, and Crookshanks occupied. Although Harry and Ginny were doing their best to hide their emotions, Neville and Luna silently agreed something was amidst. Ginny's eyes were sad, yet furious. She wanted to be with Harry, but he just pushed her away. She knew he was trying to protect her, but at the same time, she felt she would be safer with Harry. If only he would listen to her. Harry's eyes showed a mixture of emotions. He was sad, angry, and determined. He didn't want to break up with Ginny, but he felt it was the only way to protect her and he had to protect her at all costs. If Ginny died, it would be his fault and he just could not live with himself if she died because of him. At the same time, he was furious with Voldermort for causing him so much pain, but determined to put an and to this war once and for all, and get back together with Ginny.
It was finally Hedwig who broke the silence by letting out a loud, but peaceful hoot. Although she was an owl, she too sensed something was up. Neville heaved a loud sigh.
"Harry, what's wrong mate?"
"It's nothing Neville, don't worry."
At this, Neville looked at him questioningly. Harry sighed. What could he say? He knew Neville didn't believe him.
"I'm fine, I just can't believe Dumbledore's really gone, that's all" Harry said, unknowingly.
Neville knew there was more to the story, but before he could question Harry further, Ron and Hermione walked in, just having finished their prefect duties. Both Harry and Ginny looked at Ron and Hermione gratefully, and silently thanked them. Neither Harry nor Ginny wanted to talk about the events that took place at Dumbledore's funeral.
Author's Note: I know it was short! Sorry! But this was just the prologue! I am working on Chapter 1 now. I will update as soon as I can! Read and Review, but no flames, please! Also, I may change the title, I'm not sure. If you think I should change the title, and/or have an idea of a new title, please let me know in your review! Thanks!
