A bit of a note: I suggest looking up "searching Cold War" on youtube and clicking the BOCW theme, it fits the mood perfectly. Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter Twenty Six- Captured

August 8th, 2019.

Officers. Gabriel Mooreson, Franklin Adler, Mason Hartman- ZPD SWAT Team 4.

Location- [REDACTED]

Status- MIA. Presumed KIA.

As SWAT Team One and the SAS began to delve deeper into Happytown, the remnants of SWAT Team Four were stuck and alone after they were captured by Rouen's men.

The three remaining members had been beaten, bloodied and tortured by their captors for over three long days, before they were thrown into an empty room and restrained with handcuffs.

Officer Gabriel Mooreson, the captain of Team Four, sat in a wooden chair in the center of the room, restrained with chains with his paws tied behind his back.

He looked up at the ceiling of the windowless room in a barely conscious state. The brown bear had taken most pain and suffering out of the three of them.

He had been stabbed, beaten, gagged, choked and punched from the moment he and his team were captured, all in front of both his team mates who could only watch.

His fur was still drenched in sweat and water due to how hot the room was, and from when they tried to waterboard him as a form of interrogation, and it worked for them spectacularly.

He looked at the ceiling with his mouth hung open, giving it a blank stare as he sat there taking heavy breaths.

The bear slowly looked down at the floor and saw his two team members laying there motionlessly. The wolf and tiger were also chained up, forced to watch him take the brunt of the damage.

He looked at them almost desperately, hoping that one of them would move just a little bit, hoping they were alive. But they didn't move . . . They just laid there.

He glanced back up again and closed his eyes "we're all gonna die . . ." Were the only words he muttered through labored breaths, they sounded exhausted yet hopeless.

Then, he heard something "no we're not . . . We're not gonna die Gabe . . ." One of his officers spoke.

He looked down again to see that the feline officer had turned over to look at him "bullshit . . . We're stuck here Frank" the bear said in denial.

He watched the tiger glance at him and laugh almost hysterically "yeah well . . . A little . . . Optimism would go a . . . helluva long way right now . . ." He said in between breaths.

Gabriel shook his head "what the hell is that gonna do for us?" He replied, looking up.

"We're fucked Frank . . . Royally. Fucked . . . I don't even know why they haven't killed us yet" he explained.

"Well . . . At least you're alive . . . I could've sworn you were dead" the tiger seemingly joked "I don't feel like it . . . That's for damn sure . . ." The bear responded.

He watched the big cat get up and prop himself against the wall, making the chains attached to him jingle and drag across the stone floor.

The tiger sat there and looked up at Gabriel, shaking his head "they . . . Really fucked you up, didn't they?" Frank asked as the bear let out a short huff "oh . . . ya think?"

The tiger nodded "you look like hammered shit, Gabe . . ." The bear looked at him and swallowed hard "fuck you too Frank" he responded as the cat let out a slight laugh.

Gabriel watched the tiger look at the chains restraining him and his other team mate, and then slowly around the room.

"How the hell are we gonna get out of here?" He asked looking up again, followed by a frustrated sigh "give me a minute, I'm thinking" Frank responded as he continued looking.

"How are you holding up then . . . ?" Gabriel asked through heavy breaths, followed by a grumble from the other officer.

"Not good . . . But a lot better than you are . . . that's for damn sure" Frank answered, looking at the brown bear as he did.

"What about Mason?" the bear asked, trying to sit up, coughing as his chair shook.

The tiger looked at the gray wolf for a moment "dunno . . . He hasn't moved for a day . . ." He responded as he looked at the chains and shook them.

Gabriel watched the striped cat fiddle with his paws as he sat against the wall, making the handcuffs and chains jingle again as he seemed to wrestle with them.

"That's . . . Not gonna work, Frank . . ." the bear said as the tiger continued to struggle with them, letting out several grunts and growls of frustration and ignoring his comment.

. . .

Officer Franklin Adler fought with the chains restraining his paws. If he could just manage to reach the lock holding the chains in place, he could pick it easily with his claws, it was one of the many things he was trained to do in a situation like this.

The striped cat was ex special forces, having served in the ZDF and having multiple black ops for the CIA for multiple years before joining the SWAT force. Even if Gabriel was the captain, he was the one who knew the most out of all of them.

He and his partners had been held up in that room for over three days straight, and he'd taken quite a beating from their captors as well, even if he didn't show it.

Both Adler and Mason had to watch their friend get beaten and tortured throughout their time there though, and it was clear that the brown bear took the brunt of the damage.

He hadn't been in a situation like this before though, and he certainly wasn't expecting much from untrained thugs, but it was clear that he was wrong.

He struggled with them for quite some time, trying to get to a point where he could get his claw in the lock, but whenever he was just about there, the chain would move.

He growled in frustration as he kept at it, despite how much his paws were cramping and hurting every time he did.

Their situation was incredibly dire, and even his captain thought it was hopeless, but he had to get them out . . . Or at least try his damnedest to.

Adler wouldn't give up as easily as most do, he had to admit that he was "quite the stubborn son of a bitch" when it came to much of anything, but it was what special forces training did to him, and it was well worth it.

After almost 20 minutes of struggling, Frank finally saw an opportunity to jam his claw in the lock, so he did almost immediately.

He made even more disgruntled sounds of frustration as he attempted to pick the lock, he knew it would be a hopeless endeavor for anyone else, but not for him . . . All he needed was time. And he had a whole lot of that.

Throughout the three days they had been captured, their captors checked on them and messed with them every thirty or so minutes, but it had been hours since they last walked in.

Adler assumed they either left or worse, the good thing was that they were most likely gone.

"C'mon, son of a bitch!" He growled as he felt around with his claw and shook the lock, his frustration mounted until he heard a faint click, and his paws were free.

He pulled them outwards immediately after the chains were released, causing them to drop on the floor in front of him.

He didn't get up though, he looked at the chain on the floor and quickly began to untie them from his feet. Once he fully freed himself, Frank scampered over to the bear tied up in the chair.

"Gabe! You hear me?!" He asked as he watched the officer look at him "I'm gonna untie you, give me a minute!" He loudly whispered as he began to work on the chains and handcuffs restraining the bear.

"Where the hell . . . Did you learn that?" the bear asked, almost laughing as he did "the military." though Frank's answer was straightforward and earnest.

He watched his friend's paws immediately grab at the bear's sides as they were freed, before weakly dropping and hanging at the sides of the chair.

Adler slowly untied his partner from the chains, and when he finally did, he heard the metal drop onto the stone floor.

The tiger quickly went in front of him and grabbed the bear's broad shoulders "Gabe, c'mon get up" he said trying to pull his partner upright.

But the brown bear began to weakly get up by himself, only to stagger towards him a few seconds later and landing on the floor.

He crouched next to him as the bear made sounds of pain, placing his large paws against the floor and trying to push himself up without Adler's help.

He was about to help him, but Gabriel put his paw up as he stood "I'm fine . . . Mason . . . Check Mason . . ."

He looked at the wolf still laying on the floor and covered in blood, and ran over to him.

"Mason!" he shouted, running over "Mason, wake the hell up!" he said, smacking the wolf across the muzzle several times and shaking him, but there wasn't a response.

He looked at the gray wolf frantically before kneeling down and feeling his throat for a pulse, and very luckily for them, there was a pulse.

"Fucking damnit! He's out cold" He told his captain as he looked at him.

The bear shook his head slowly as he stood there weakly "fuck . . . I'll carry him . . ." he said, limping over.

"You're limping, Gabriel" Adler said standing up straight "I don't care . . . We need to leave, we're not leaving him behind" he said earnestly as Adler turned around.

"Never said I was gonna leave him, I was gonna carry him" Frank explained as the brown bear looked at the knocked out wolf.

"Don't, you're the only one that's fine . . ." He said holding his head, Adler only nodded "fine, I'll untie him and we'll get the fuck outa here" he said kneeling down and doing just that.

He freed the wolf from the chains and stepped back, watching Gabriel slowly bend down and sling the wolf over his shoulder, grunting in pain as he did.

Frank glanced at the only door to the room as they stood there and rushed over to it, hugging the wall beside the door as his teammate did the same.

He took a deep breath before he turned the knob and went to push it open, but as he was expecting, the door was locked.

The tiger bared his teeth in frustration at this, kicking the door as hard as he could and stepping back and looking at his partner.

He sneered at the door as he went to kick it again, this time he breached the door with his kick, watching the door fly open.

"C'mon" he told the brown bear next to him as the two got out, Frank quickly looked in all directions as they left, trying to assess their situation to his best ability.

As he was doing this, he saw Gabriel shake his head "where the hell even are we?" the bear asked as he stood weakly "dunno . . . But we need to move, those bastards could be anywhere" Adler answered as he began moving.

The tiger really didn't have a clue on where they were, he only knew that they were deep in the city, which made their situation even worse.

He looked at the officer behind him as they cautiously wandered the city, his friend was very clearly limping, his face exhausted, and he was leaning against all of the walls they passed for support, he took a deep breath and bared his teeth seeing that.

"You hear anything?" the ursine asked after a couple more minutes of wandering, Adler's ears moved and twitched as he tried to answer the question.

He couldn't hear anything with his acute feline hearing, only their own footsteps and background noise, it unnerved him quite a bit.

"No." He answered collectively as he heard Gabriel suddenly let out a breathless laugh "well that's definitely a good sign" he replied sarcastically.

"Tell me about it . . ." Frank only said in response, despite being on more than high alert, Adler was thinking intensely.

He knew that even if they had escaped the room they were held in, there was still an incredibly high chance that the enemy wasn't far from them.

And multiple other factors made it even worse, they didn't have a weapon, a radio, or an actual uniform . . . Or anything as a matter of fact, and he didn't forget that Gabriel was wounded badly and Mason was out cold. All of this meant that if they were to be caught, they would be dead in the water.

Priority wise, Adler didn't know where to start, he just knew that they needed to get out of there somehow. He glanced back at his fellow officer again as he stopped musing about it for a second "you feel any better?"

The bear shook his head "worse. My heads . . . Spinning like a damn merry go round" Frank sneered, the bear probably had a concussion, actually that was extremely likely with how much of a beating the captain took.

"Are you done in yet?" He asked, worried about the answer "almost, but not yet . . ." His teammate said as earnestly as he could.

"We need to find a radio . . . Or something, anything" the bear said further "where the hell are we gonna find a damn radio here?" Frank loudly whispered in frustration.

"I don't know, but that'll be our ticket out of here" his partner said quite confidently, Adler didn't respond to this, he just kept moving.

AN: Okay okay! So . . . That was an unexpected change, huh? Y'all thought I was gonna focus on Team One going in, but you were wrooong! Okay, so why Team Four? Well after I wrote the last chapter I was kind of in some bad writer's block, I didn't really know how to progress it without making the story too repetitive for y'all, and then my brain figured I'd might as well shine a big light on the MIA members of Team Four, hopefully you don't mind this stray away from the main gang, they'll be back soon I promise! And reviews and comments are again, greatly appreciated, it really encourages me to sit down and get my fingers goin!

But I've stretched this one a bit too long, so see ya later!
