Oniyuri, March 26, Monday, 11:05 PM, Abandoned Exterior

There's blood around this old town... old blood, even then... Ruby's not going to drink from the ground. That's disgusting, and she disgusts herselves at times when she needs to feed. But no less, there's no one in this town. Which means Ruby's going to have to make do with her flask tonight.

Being that finding an abandoned and incomplete town in the middle of nowhere, proves that if Lady Luck was an actual being, she'd have a sense of humor. No less, she needed to get out of this abandoned town and get to Mistral. She heard a noise. But shrugged since it became quiet. She activated her bird mode and began to fly away from the town... she had done so because she believes she can semblance boost herself to Mistral faster in bird mode... that, and she can't really hurt anyone with her semblance in the air.

Mistral Wilderness, March 26, Monday, 11:06 PM, Mistral Forests

Taking a shortcut in the air, Ruby was flying. Though, the chances she'll fly past Mistral is slim. Though she shouldn't go directly to the city in bird mode, chances are Mistral may have upped it's defenses against grimm because of what happened in Vale. In which, Ruby blames herself for what happened. She had focused on taking down the villain... if she had taken time to help the others... plenty of more people would still be alive.

At these times, she wishes vampires can't see their own reflections, no matter how stupid it may seem... because sometimes, well... she doesn't want to see her face. Moodiness aside, she's got to head to Mistral, and make sure more people don't die. She also has to keep a target off of her back. So, hence she's going by an alternative persona. Going by 'Ruby Rose' would only bring a target on her back. Better to be unknown than a target.

Though as she was flying, she had hit another bird, which causes her to lose her focus on bird mode, and making her human shaped again, which means she's falling. If she had her cloak, she'd use it at a parachute. Unfortunately, she doesn't have that option. Being that she ditched her cloak and belt buckle back at beacon tower. So, thankfully landing stratedgies were gone over for events just like this. Ruby grabbed her scythe, regardless of what her name may be... she swings it down and cuts down a bunch of trees, breaking her fall. She kept the scythe at hand in the case of grimm attacks.

Another thud had been heard. And Ruby wen to investigate. After going through the forest for a couple of minutes, she found the source of the thud... it was Raven Branwen. She was wearing her grimm mask, she then turned toward Roxy's direction. In which she looked directly at Ru-ROXY, Roxy! She needs to be her Roxy persona right now. She inhaled and exhaled.

"That Scythe... where'd you get it?" Raven asked.

"What are you talking about?" Roxy asked.

"It's Crescent Rose, changing it's paint color may fool the average person, but it doesn't fool me. Now, where did you find that Scythe?"

"How do you recognize this scythe?" Roxy asked.

"I watched the Vytal tournament. It was the weapon used by Ruby Rose." Raven stated. "Now, where did you get it?"

"I found it..."

"Found it, where?"

"Uhhhh..." Roxy uttered. "Why does it matter?" she asked.

"A friend of mine would want to retrieve that scythe, for safekeeping." Raven stated.

"Well, it's mine now." Roxy stated.

"You didn't answer my question, where'd you get it?"

"Off a dead body..." Roxy lied.

"Is that so...?" Raven asked.

"Ya..."

Raven unsheathed her sword and pointed it at Roxy's throat. "So... found off a dead body?" Raven asked. "I assume the body is dead because of you?"

Roxy flinched at the question, her facial expression is hidden under the sunglasses and scarf. She sighed. In a way, Raven is right... Ruby Rose is supposed to be dead... and Roxy... may as well killed her.

"Yes... it was a girl, younger than me. Found her... in a cave... tired, hungry, weak... she barely had any strength to walk, using this scythe as a walking cane... she was... crying. I had to try and comfort her, but she pushed me away... I didn't want the grimm to maul her corpse... so I put her out of her misery, stabbed her in the heart. She had told me to head to mistral, and to take her scythe. After that, she collapsed on the floor, dead. I brought her body outside the cave. She's buried in an unmarked grave." Roxy lied. She didn't actually kill Ruby Rose because she IS Ruby Rose.

"You killed her... because she was weak?" Raven asked.

"It was mercy, she couldn't survive... I didn't want to do it; I had no choice."

"So... you killed Ruby Rose? One of the star students of Beacon Academy?" Raven asked.

"I suppose so..." Roxy said, using Crescent Rose to knock the blade aside from her throat. "However, I plan on heading to Mistral in one piece." Roxy added.

Raven sheathed her sword but kept her blade at the hilt. "Then I suppose I'll have to take that scythe from your cold, dead hands." Raven threatened.

Well, Roxy did something stupid, but she can't back off from fighting her. Roxy entered a combat stance with her scythe.

Roxy Tudor vs Raven Branwen

Raven made the first strike, striking with her sword. In which Roxy blocked with the blade of her scythe. She can't see the look on her face because Raven's wearing her mask.

"I'm impressed, very few have managed to block my attacks." Raven praised. "However, that will only get you so far..." she added, as she kicks Roxy midair and strikes her down with her sword, she then sheathed her sword. In which Roxy's aura managed to tank a significant portion of the attack, though not all of it. Since there's a cut wound on her.

Roxy's turn, she fired a round from Crescent Rose, in which Raven managed to slice to pieces. Raven then went to make another strike, which Roxy parried with her scythe, she then used the blade rotation mechanism to initiate a counterattack to Raven, and striking her hand, disarming her. In which Roxy went in for the strike. She had fully rotated her scythe and made a slash, and then shifted the blade back to initiate a rotating flurry of slices. After a series of rotations, she then did some more slices.

Raven quickly interrupted by a kick and then grabbed Roxy and threw her 10 feet away, in which she went to grab her sword.

"Well, something tells me you're not going to be just a momentary distraction." Raven said, sheathing her sword, and rotating her sheathe. And then having her hand at it.

When Roxy prepared her momentary stance. Raven had charged, with Roxy dodging under and performing a sweep kick, followed by Raven trip from the kick and unsheathing her sword, revealing it be white instead of red. The sword manages to hit Roxy's boot, freezing it in ice.

Roxy put away Crescent Rose and had turned on Penny. She used the holoblade to stab the ice off her foot. She then turned to Raven and prepared to parry her incoming attack, being that ice can't freeze holograms... it is going to be effective, she then suckerkicked Raven before she tried anything. In which Raven had gotten, up...

"Well, looks like you carry more than one weapon. I've only known one other huntress who used multiple weapons." Raven stated, sheathing her sword. She then cycled it again.

Roxy, got her holoblades ready, throwing them at Raven in which the black-haired bounty hunter sliced the holoblades in half with her sword, now gleaming blue, and electrified. It only began to connect to Roxy when she notices that Raven's sword is a dustblade. A sword whose blade is made out of only dust. Put the hilt in it'll jack in the slot, and dust will solidify and form a blade.

Which is why Raven has to keep sheathing it, because the dust will begin to lose shape if it's not maintained. The reason why no one suspects it is that Dust blades were from an older time. Great War era weapon. It's old, but effective.

That leaves Roxy with a plan. Instead of attacking Raven, she goes for the sheathe. She turns off Penny and gets Slice of Life. Giant Pizza cutter. She aims one of the blades to attack Raven's sheath, sets it to Ice dust, only to have to parry from Raven's incoming lightning-fast attacks. She turns on Slice of Life's motor to rotate the blades, ensuring that every slash from the blade of the pizza cutter will damage Raven's sword.

Here Raven is with a lightning sword enhancing her perception of time, making her move faster than Roxy when she uses her semblance. And using said semblance is honestly not much of a choice, she inhales and bursts herself using her semblance to charge at Raven, cutting a hole in her sheathe, with dust falling out of the sheathe.

She then de-activated her semblance, only to get stabbed in the back, but still living because of her vampirism. It hurts a lot.

"Owww..." Roxy groaned.

"You're still alive?" Raven asked, in confusion. "Oh, I see..." she added, removing her sword.

Roxy, free from the blade in the back turned around, and saw that Raven put the sword in her sheathe as planned, and when she attempts to unsheathe, she gets only a short baton instead of a sword...

"What the...?" Raven said in confusion. "Did I seriously run out of dust?" she then looked at the ground. "Oh, you little..."

"I can set it off at any time. But I'm not." Roxy taunted.

"It's foolish to spare one's life, especially when they tried to kill you." Raven scolded.

"I know, I just don't like to kill."

"Well, now everything makes sense. I just figured out who you really are..."

"You did?"

"Yep, though it's not best to talk in the woods, Yakuza's got ears all over the wilderness, we'll have to head somewhere more private." Raven said.

Roxy followed Raven, out of curiosity. Leading somewhere out of the woods.

Abandoned Farm, March 26, Monday, 11:30 PM, Living Room

The two of them found an abandoned farm nearby. And had sealed the doors. There's nothing alive here, save for Raven. They're in an old living room. There's no lighting, Roxy could only see due to nightvision. Not sure how Raven could see, though. But the furniture looks in surprisingly good than the flooring or the rest of the interior, it may as well collapse any time now and Roxy is scared for her life. Well... post-life.

"Don't worry, it's not going to collapse." Raven re-affirmed. "Now, have a seat."

Roxy, took Raven's word for it and had sat down on one of the chairs. The two of them were sitting across from eachother from a table, it was a dining room set, mid-size table, six chairs.

"So... why'd you do it?" Raven asked.

"Do... what?" Roxy asked.

"Don't play dumb, I know who you really are, now. So, drop the scarf and shades." Raven retorted, taking off her mask.

Ruby sighed and lowered her scarf, and placed her sunglasses at the table.

"Yep, it turns out this mysterious mercenary is the long gone and missing 'Ruby Rose'. Who would have figured?" Raven said sarcastically.

"Ya ya..." Ruby retorted.

"So... why'd you run away? Become a vampire?" Raven asked.

"Becoming a vampire was before I ran away..." Ruby stated. "You've heard of the blackout... Yang broke her contact lenses, and I had to get new ones since the CCT was bugging out."

"And I assume the one who turned you was waiting around the eye-doctor?"

"Yep, using a Beowulf as bait."

"Classic, oldest trick in the book."

"Are you kidding me?"

"My father always said that's a common way to trick huntsmen into letting their guards down, rescuing a poor civilian, and then boom! Bloodsucking time!"

"Well, now I feel stupid."

"Eh, don't beat yourself about it."

"Ya... since I've become a vampire, I had a hard time well... adjusting."

"Beacon doesn't have night-time classes for a reason, kiddo."

"Well, I figured it was because of that after I became one! Besides, I still wanted to be a huntress."

"Past tense?"

"I've done something I am outright ashamed of. Breaking my own set of rules..."

"Oh, do tell."

"I killed someone..."

Raven burst out laughing. "You ran away and ditched all of your friends to fend for themselves because you killed someone?" Raven asked.

"Ya... I followed a morale code, that I am to not to take a life under any circumstance. A huntress' job is to protect people from grimm, vigilantism is merely a hobby I've picked up after I became a vampire. Not to mention, it's not my job to deliver punishment to them. I don't beat them up terribly or kill them, I just make sure it's quick and easy."

"So... you wanted to be some paragon or role model huntress? Just like your mother?"

"Ya..."

"Hate to break it to you, but your mother is the most insufferable being I'd ever met."

"What?"

"Ya, it's not easy to get along with someone who religiously hates vampires to the point where she makes an exception to the 'no-kill' rule she enveloped for herself, when you're a half-blood."

"Wait, you're a half-blood?"

"Yep. Me and Qrow are half-vampire. Though, as you can see... I got more of the vampirism than Qrow did. If you stabbed him in the heart, he'd die. As for me, I can survive if I have a couple of holes in my body, save for the head."

"That means..."

"Yep, your sister is part vampire. Though, that part's usually kept secret because your mother didn't want you involved in the vampire business, the huntress business no less."

"Wait, what?"

"Ya, your mother was absolutely furious at the idea of you being a huntress. Maternal instincts, not wanting their kids to die."

"Aren't you Yang's mother?"

"Biologically, yes. Legally, yes. In spirit, no. I don't see myself as Yang Jr.'s mother, despite what your mother insisted."

Character Change: Ruby Rose/Roxy Tudor - Raven Branwen (Past)

Beacon Academy (Past), 19 years ago, November 8, Monday, Daytime, SYRQ Dormitory

"Let me tell you something, Your father was also called: 'Yang Xiao Long', once apon a time. It was roughly around the mid of the second year... the downside of my semblance is that I have quite a sharp memory. Which means remembering everything."

Note: During STRQ Age stories/flashbacks before our blonde brawler has been born, Taiyang is to be referred as 'Yang'

The SYRQ Dormitory, being the size of a small apartment. Is the educational residence of Team SYRQ. Comes full with a living room, kicthen/dining room mix, and a bedroom. Along with two bathrooms. This would later be the dormitory of Team RWBY. Though, the living room at this time is mostly empty, consisting of only a singular bean bag, a TV-stand, and a Television.

And at this point, Raven was sitting on a bean bag, drinking her thirteenth can of grape soda. She was wearing a simpler jean skirt with thigh high socks and sneakers, along with a black T-shirt with a red jacket. Her weapon, Omen was nearby. It was her first time drinking carbonated beverages, and she got hooked on it.

And then seeing her brother Qrow, along with Yang entering a room with a couch. It was very unbalanced. Qrow was raising it higher, with Yang having it closer to his groin. Qrow, wearing cargo pants and combat boots, along with a sole tank top. With Yang wearing shorts and sandals, with a tank top and a vest. He was also wearing fingerless gloves.

"Careful!" Yang yelled.

"I know how to move a couch, Yang. However, you should consider raising your side. Summer's not gonna want a flat rod." Qrow retorted.

"Well, at least lower it so you don't create a hole on the floor!"

"Hey guys. You need help moving that?" Raven asked, drinking her soda.

"I know you're offering but I know you won't do anything." Yang retorted.

"Come on, dude."

"You always pull this! First you try and make me feel bad, then I say yes, and then you use your semblance to prank me."

"Besides, where'd you get the couch?"

"We found it while exploring Mountain Glenn. We just did some cleaning up, swapped out the cushions. And boom! Good as new!" Qrow said, with a grunt afterwards.

"That's disgusting!" Raven retorted.

"Hey, couch is a couch. Besides, we cleaned it up."

"Just put it 13 feet apart from the TV."

"That was our plan, anyhow!" Qrow retorted.

"Good." Raven responded.

The two guys had set down the couch 13 feet from the television. In which Raven grabbed her five pack of grape soda, warm. She then got up from the bean bag and moved onto the couch in which she lounged on it. She also turned on the television.

"Really, Ray?" Qrow retorted.

"Hey, you gave me a better seat, the bean bag has started to make cracking noises." Raven responded.

"We didn't get that couch just for you to lounge on!" Yang retorted.

And then Summer had walked in. From the looks of her, wearing a black skirt and corset, with long gloves, and a silver cloak. Along with black boots. She had a look of furiousness.

"Yang, Qrow... Raven... why is there a filthy couch in our dorm?" Summer asked calmly in an angered tone. Followed by her walking in the dorm and closing the door.

"Hey, babe. We cleaned it! We swapped out the cushions, it's fine!" Yang try to console.

"Fine? FINE!? WHERE'D YOU GET THAT!? IT HAS A HUMAN FILTH GENERATOR ON IT! No offense, Qrow." Summer yelled.

"None taken, but she went on the couch after we set it down." Qrow commented.

"Hey, I'm not a filth generator." Raven retorted, followed by her burping.

Summer then pointed at the bean bag chair, filled with empty bags, bottles, and cans. "You are going to attract mice, which means I'll have to hunt down and kill them. Because the mice are going to keep coming back and it will be her fault!" Summer yelled, pointing at Raven.

"It's your job as leader to clean up the place and cook anyway... so why do I care?" Raven retorted.

"Because I have just gotten back from leader tactics, and it's also my job to make sure you remember your responsibility! So, until you all clean up this pigstein of a dorm! No sweets!" Summer ordered.

The rest of team SYRQ had groaned in complaint, Raven because Summer wouldn't stop pestering about it.

"And because Raven and Qrow only need two hours of sleep due to them being horrifying abominations, they get more chores!" Summer added.

"Summer, stop referring to us as that. You're a good friend and all, but one can take so much insults before snapping. And Raven's got a short temper." Qrow commented.

"So? I've beaten you two before, even two on one." Summer commented. "And if you threaten some other way to deal with me, I'll be reporting both of you to the headmaster!"

"Wow, what a snitch." Raven retorted.

"SHUSH! NO TALKING DURING CLEANING TIME!" Summer yelled. Whilst placing cleaning supplies near Qrow and Raven.

"What about me?" Yang asked.

"You, you get off easy because I love you. You're just doing the dishes and taking out the trash, they're doing everything else."

The two of them had then left the room. Which then Qrow bumped Raven to hint that she had to get up, he also turned off the TV.

"I absolutely hate that woman." Raven complained.

"I know, but she's our leader, you've got to learn to co-operate." Qrow stated.

"NO TALKING!" Summer yelled.

Raven then went and childishly mocked Summer.

"I HEARD THAT!" Summer yelled again.

After a while, with Qrow doing most of the work, and Raven just cleaning that one same spot on the floor over and over again to pass away time and look busy, she decided to eavesdrop.

"Come on, Summer. It'd be like looking into a younger version of yourself." Yang argued.

"With School and training, we're not ready to raise a child, we can take care of that after we graduate. We can have a child when that's taken care of." Summer argued.

"And what of then? Training's not going to end, and more missions will replace school. Don't you think having a child now would help you from having regrets."

"It's irresponsible."

"Summer, it's okay. You don't have to do all of the work, you said yourself. It'd be our child. I'll take care of them, too."

"You really think we're ready to have a child. Our own bundle of joy?"

"I think so..."

"Well, we can't do it now, Yang. We have a mission tomorrow and we're cleaning. I don't want you to make a bigger mess!"

"We'll just book a hotel room the day we come back, and do it there..."

"Ya... That seems reasonable. You better brush your teeth beforehand. I don't want to smell your awful breath."

"Says the girl who adds garlic to all of her foods."

Raven was intrigued, and disturbed, the thought of Summer and Yang having a child. The two of them can be annoying at times, but the spawn of them? That child would likely be the most insufferable individual Raven would ever encounter.

She had shuddered and continued to clean that single part of the floor.

Vale Wilderness (Past), 19 years ago, November 9, Tuesday, Daytime, Mission Spot

"Summer and Yang (your father) actually planned to have a child together long before you were born, and to be honest. I was disgusted by it. I absolutely hated your mother, despite how attractive she was."

"What was that?"

"What was what?"

"Did you say you hate my mother and then called her attractive?"

"Yes, I did. It's weird, I know. I don't know why I felt the way I did for her..."

"So... why did Dad have Yang (my sister) with you instead of Mom?"

"I'm getting to that!"

A high-ranking mission, Summer always liked to take the higher-ranked missions. She believed she'd get extra-credit for doing the more dangerous jobs. Though, doing things for free... that's not much way to live. Raven was just putting this up because she needed to get away from the bandit life.

The task at hand, is to eliminate a certain creature of grimm. It was a rare grimm. Rare grimm are always more deadly. Beowulves are common, a Taijutu? Uncommon. Nuckaleeves are rare. But this one, is supposedly supposed to be seen less often than a nuckaleeve!

From the description, it was described to appear like a spider with a scorpion's tail. Though, she had forgotten what it was called. Though unlike normal spider grimm, this one doesn't have webs. And they're fighting it right now.

Raven leading by using her weapon to attempt to slice off the legs. However, the property of the grimm allows it to liquify and solidify itself at a whim so slicing weapons won't do much for the legs. Which means Yang and his animal companionship semblance needs to do the attacking.

It's mostly armored, and the unarmored parts seems to be immune to sharp weapons. Well, at least the black parts. She sees Summer aiming for the armor, and notices something... the armor on the grimm is soft. It seems to trade away the durability for special properties. Though, this is not something one would so guess. Yet again, Summer's pole axe is an armor piercing weapon anyway.

Though, all of it's attention is toward Summer, and not the rest of the team, seems to shrug off any deer horns, blade cuts, punches, or scythe slashes, or just jumps to another place, and continue to attack Summer.

Speaking of, Summer's been attacking it's limbs too offensively, she managed to sever one of them, but the scorpion tail manages to pierce right through her out of surprise. Yang had grabbed her and left the scene.

Though, as for Raven and Qrow, they were left to fight the thing. Though, Raven didn't care, she knew where to hit. And she's an agile fighter. As soon as the spider grimm had went to strike Raven, she had dodged, and sliced the slinger from the white-shelled armor, cutting it off. Now without a main form of offense, she sheathes the blade, and swicthes to an ice blade and proceeded to begin bludgeoning the grimm. It doesn't matter if the hilt or the guard hits, it covers the target in ice. In which she then switched to lightning dust and finished off in a million slices. Lightning dust has a passive effect of slowing down the perception of time for the user, which she uses for quick and rapid slices. Often turning grimm or people into hamburger. Though, not literally. Because if that was the case, Raven would go vegetarian.

Qrow then landed the final blow on the back of the grimm, with Harbinger in sword form, impaling it. The grimm then vanished. And a job well done. Though, Raven went and checked up on Summer. She was worried about her, sure she hated Summer, but she didn't want her to die. Being team leader and all, if she would have died right then, the remaining team members would have ended up being placed on other teams to fill up slots opened by teams whose members had also died.

Galderney (Past), 19 years ago, November 10, Wednesday, Nighttime, Bar and Inn

"Ya, long story short. Summer had ended up wounded during the fight, had to spend the rest of the year in the hospital."

"So... dad just decided to sleep with you, then?"

"Eh... it was more complicated than that."

Galderney was a village close to vale, the tech was good enough for the age, and it's sizable with it's own militia. This village ended up getting destroyed before Ruby was born. Though at the time, the people didn't know that.

Raven was invited to meet Yang at the bar and inn. Though on her way, she had felt a hand in her pocket, she turned around and saw a ginger-haired boy... around ten years old attempting to pickpocket Raven. The boy ran as soon as he got caught. Raven managed to keep her money.

As soon as Raven entered the bar, he sees Yang alone at the back table, and Raven decided to sit with him. Well, because that's what the meeting is for. The bar and inn is mostly as it would look like, plenty of tables, a bar counter, an upstairs with rooms. It's an average bar and inn.

Raven had a seat and then Yang gave her a serious look.

"Ray. I think me and Summer may need your help on something. You also have to keep this between us." Yang stated.

"What is it?" Raven asked.

"Well, Summer got wounded, and she's hospitalized. Thankfully, she's alive. However, we were planning to have a child before the incident."

Raven stayed silent.

"You were eavesdropping, weren't you?" Yang asked.

"Ya, and what does this have to do with me?" Raven retorted.

"I'd talk to Summer, and she agreed on having a surrogate mother for the child, we'll have another one in the future."

"So... you want me to carry Summer's child?"

"I didn't tell her who the mother would be."

"Why didn't you ask Glynda?"

"If she had said yes, I wouldn't have come to ask you."

"Even then, I hate Summer why would I want to be the mother for her kid?"

"Look, if you agree. I'll convince Summer to go easy on you. You get to laze around and be on the easy street until the child is born, if things turn out well, I'd get the papers and it'd be the child of me and Summer. You do not have to get involved in any way after that. You just gotta keep it a secret, she's not the kind who'd want their child to be... part grimm or part undead."

"I'm gonna need more incentives if I'm gonna have a kid with you. Pay me 10,000 Lien."

"Alright, here..." Yang said, handing the money. All of that would have ended up being spent irresponsibly.

Amity Colosseum (Past), 18 years ago, September 14, Wednesday, Daytime, Amity Arena

"Your father bribed me to be a surrogate mother. Your sister was intended from conception to be Summer's child on day one."

"So... why does she have your last name, then?"

"Well, you see... my pregnancy was intended to be kept a secret from Summer. She hated vampires, and she hated me, not only because I'm half-vampire. The two of us never fully got along. Constantly fight and all of that. She prefers to go the extra mile for everything, even for simple tasks. I much prefer to keep things simple and easy."

"Oh... so... what happened?"

"You sure you want to hear this?"

"I'm sure. I'm curious now."

"Well... if you insist, I don't like talking about this since it's embarrassing."

"Just tell the story, please."

"You are a persistent little brat, aren't you? Fine, I'll tell the story."

The amity arena, Raven was nine months pregnant when this fight takes place, despite her disadvantage, Yang had hired a young boy to sabotage the other fighters for Raven. Much to Raven's dismay, she'd like to fight handicapped. Though, being more armored than usual slows her down. Protecting the unborn baby is a must, how much of a brat this thing will be raised by the two of them.

Yet again, given the circumstance, she was about to win. This was the finals. Her opponent was someone from the arena's current place, Atlas. A man named Clover Elbi. Wielding a fishing rod.

Fighting in the arena 9 months pregnant is irresponsible, yes. But she wanted to win.

The announcer began the fight, as the platforms began lowering into the dueling state. Raven, in an awkward fighting position had prepared for the fight. Clover had initiated first strike, using the fishing rod to attack, Raven used her sword... fighting one-handed since two-handed sword wielding is out of the question, which she has to fight southpaw. Thankfully she manages to cut the fishing line, taking advantage of the situation.

Clover, out of a desperate attempt, attempts to bludgeon her with the rod, but she disarms in and begins striking. The fight was in her favor, and she was about to win... until...

She felt it. The shock in her face is known, the crowd watches. And the puddle of water on the floor is noticeable. Her water had broken, and she was about to go into labor. The camera had been cut, and the announcer had called the match for Clover. As for the people in the crowd, including her team... they got to watch her give birth... in the amity arena. They expected a show, but not this. This is not what they expected. And from that, the Amity baby was born.

Atlas Academy (Past), 18 years ago, September 15, Thursday, Daytime, Academy Nursery

"Wait? Yang (my sister) was born in the Amity Arena?"

"Yep, right in front of the crowd. It was far by the worst day of my life."

"Why didn't you go to the medical bay in the colosseum?"

"They added the Medical Bay in the colosseum BECAUSE of this incident. I'm also the reason for the physical exams. Before then, they took wounded to the school clinics."

"Wow... so they just..."

"Yep."

"That's embarrassing."

Here Raven was at the nursery, being forced to tend to the Amity Baby's needs because as far as the large crowd is concerned, that child is hers. It's a girl, 7 pounds, and a healthy baby. And being that how vampiric heritage passes, she's mortal.

Raven had sighed. She didn't even think of a name for the child. Even then, people call her: 'The Amity Baby'.

"You were supposed to go to Summer, brat." Raven scolded the baby.

The baby doesn't verbally respond, it's a newborn baby.

Of all of things Raven wishes for her long life, being a parent is not one of them.

Then Yang had entered the room. Raven had given him an intense stare.

"I know, I know... it's my fault." Yang apologized.

"There is nothing that you do that can make me forgive you for forgoing this embarrassment." Raven retorted.

"Yes... I know..."

"This baby looks a bit like you. How are you going to explain to Summer this?" Raven asked.

"Yes, Yang. How are you going to explain this?" Summer barged in.

"Speaking of whom." Raven retorted.

"So... how long have you and Yang been getting together behind my back?" Summer asked, sounding paranoid.

"Calm your tits." Raven said, before being interrupted.

"You're a mother now, watch your language!"

"Don't you interrupt me!"

"I can interrupt you whenever I like!"

"Can you tone it down? I don't want to make the baby cry." Yang retorted.

"Quiet, cheat!" Summer interrupted.

"This child was supposed to be for you! Yang and I only had sex so you can have a kid since you were hospitalized!" Raven snapped.

"You... were the surrogate mother Yang mentioned?" Summer asked.

"To be fair, she wasn't my first choice." Yang defended himself.

"You asked Glynda first, didn't you?"

"You know me quite well, Summer."

"Unfortunately..."

"Ya, that can be discussed later. Well, I don't plan on taking care of her in the future. So, are you gonna take her or am I going to dump her at the first orphanage I find?" Raven asked

"You are quite Heartless, aren't you? That's your child!" Summer scolded.

"And I don't want her."

"Summer, how about we take the child? I'll do most of the work." Yang offered.

"Fine, but the legal will papers say that you're still her mother, Raven." Summer retorted.

"You'll change your mind when she calls you 'mom'." Raven said, handing the baby to Raven. "Hope you come up with a name."

"How about 'Amity'?" Yang offered as a joke.

"No. I don't want her to be bullied. Besides, I feel like she may become like little you... We'll call her Yang Branwen." Summer suggested.

"Wouldn't that mix-things up? Being that it's also my name."

"Well, you could change your name."

"Well, I like my name."

"You could add something to it."

"Ya, that sounds like a good idea."

Character Change: Raven Branwen (Past) - Ruby Rose

Abandoned Farm, March 26, Monday, 11:37 PM, Living Room

"Ya, in the end. They decided with the overly large full name for your sister. After she was born, your father added a 'Tai' to his name." Raven explained.

"How come I never heard of the Amity Baby story?" Ruby asked.

"Oh, your father and Qrow made sure that the story never reaches your ears or Yang's. Even going as far as harassing or interrupting them."

"So... how much do you owe Yang?"

"The father or the daughter?"

"Daughter?"

"The amount of money I take from her or the debt built up for having to pay child support?"

"What?"

"Ya... I am terrible with money."

"Looks like you're going to need some help, and not just to fix your weapon."

"I appreciate it, but I can survive on my own..."

"Well, no matter. I figured you'd appreciate the company."

"Well, I'll be heading to Mistral anyway. Figured an extra hand won't hurt. Now, should I call you 'Ruby' or 'Roxy'?"

"'Roxy' in public, obviously."

"That, I'd figured. But would you prefer me to refer to you by 'Ruby' or 'Roxy' in private?"

"Well, I am still me... I'm not letting my public persona change who I am."

"So... 'Ruby'?"

"Yep."

"My advice, don't live in your mother's shadow."

Ruby stayed silent. Her father and uncle always said that she acted so much like her mother... like, directly compared to her. She doesn't know if this is a good thing or not. Her mother was always depicted as some full-on paragon. She was the role model Ruby looked up to when she wanted to be a huntress. Though, she's not sure if being her daughter would have saved her from her mother if she was still alive...

Author's Footnote: It's been a month and I'm still sick. But here's the update. As you have read, Raven is quite a different person from her canonical counterpart. Other than her being in her seventies and all of that. But no less, there will be more Raven content in this fanfic. See you next chapter.
