Hey, welcome to my first fanfic: Flames of a Hero. Please remember that this is my first fic and as a result it might not be the best but constructive criticism is allowed. Another thing to know is that some characters may be slightly ooc, because I learned BNHA's story and plot line completely from other fanfics.
This story is a !QuirkDeku story and that's all I'm saying as to not spoil anything.

"Kacchan leave him alone!" A young green haired boy yelled shakily,
"Not a chance Deku, this is the extra that took the last donut with red white and blue sprinkles, and for that he needs to fucking die!" A young explosive boy yelled viciously
"I-I-I won't let you! A hero saves people in need! Not attacks them!" 'Deku' yelled, somehow managing to appear determined and brave as well as shaky and terrified at the same time
"Then I'll just have to kill you to Deku" 'Kacchan' grinned viciously "Get them!"
His lackeys, one with a quirk allowing him to extend his fingers to over half a meter long, and one with a quirk that given him bright red wings although his weight and the fact he didn't practice flying much meant he could only float for a short amount of time. On 'Kacchans' command the 2 sprinted at 'Deku' with 'Kacchan' at the front of the trio, his hands releasing small explosions that have done damage to 'Deku' before.
'Deku' instinctively raised his arms to block any attacks, unknowingly changing his life forever. When he raised his arms, 2 small jets of green fire burst from his hands and forced the young attackers away from him.
"I-is this my quirk?" 'Deku' asked himself quietly, tearing up at finally gaining the one thing separating him from his peers. A quirk.
After this 'Kacchan' realised this was to important to ruin with a fight, as he may be rude and vicious but he wouldn't ruin someone's quirk awakening. He wasn't that much of a dick. He quietly called to his lackeys and said "We'll finish those extras tomorrow, let's go to my house". The lackeys simply nodded and followed.
When 'Deku' realised they had left he went to check if the poor soul who had attracted 'Kacchan' was okay, then ran of to tell his mum about the incredible news.
*Deku POV*
All people aren't created equal.
That's a lesson I learned when I was just four years old and diagnosed as quirkless. Even though I did end up with a quirk and the diagnosis was wrong, in a weird way I'm glad I was diagnosed. Mostly because it revealed so many important lessons to me.
But enough of that, my name is Izuku Midoriya, and this is the tale of how I became one of the greatest heroes to ever exist.
*No ones POV*
"Mum! Mum! Guess what?!" Izuku yelled excitedly as he ran up to his mother
"What is it Izu?" His mother, Inko Midoriya, asked curiously
"It happened! I got my quirk!" Izuku, so excited he was visibly shaking
Inko gasped in shock "R-Really?"
"Yeah! And it's super cool to!" Izuku happily exclaims whilst shooting small green fire blasts out of his fists as a demonstration
Inko smiled happily as she crushed her son in a bone breaking hug, crying a river of tears "I'm so happy for you Izuku!"
"Mum... Need... Air" Izuku said whilst turning different shades of purple
"Oh my goodness sorry Izuku" she said whilst letting go, "
Now how about we go to the doctors and try to figure out your quirk? Then when we get home we can have a nice katsudon to celebrate"
"Yay!" Izuku shouts happily before running of to Inko's car
After arriving at the doctors, Izuku is introduced to a different doctor then last time and Inko is informed his usual doctor was fired due to medical malpractice, by telling kids they were quirkless using evidence from a test that proves literally nothing because it doesn't work.
Inko was upset about being lied to about her own son, but happy about him being fired then went to Izuku's appointment.
"Hello my name is Akari Tanata, and I will be doing the tests on little Midoriya's quirk" the doctor explained to the verdette duo
Inko smiles in joy "Thank you doctor", then looking at Izuku expectantly
Realising what Inko wants Izuku said excitedly "Thank You!"
"Alright kiddo, I'm gonna need to see your quirk so I know what tests to do okay?"
"Okay" Izuku chirped happily, then proceeds to punch the air shooting a jet of green fire out in the process
Warning, science stuff ahead, if you don't care about that stuff skip to the next marker
The doctor immediately began taking notes on the quirk, e.g. its type being an emitter and so on, before deciding to take 5 tests. One to figure out the weaknesses of the quirk, for example what happens if he's covered in water, one to figure out what fuels his quirk as all fire needs oxygen, fuel and heat, one to figure out why his fire is green, one to figure out how strong his fire actually is, e.g. what can it burn through and does it give any other benefits, and finally one to figure out how intricate he can make his fire, such as can he make animations of flames with it or was he just stuck with basic pyrokinesis.
After explaining this to the Midoriya's, they do the tests and discover Izuku's fire is green because of a chemical his body releases, that doubles as the fuel for the fire and the most intricate thing Izuku can do with his quirk is make a very rough figure of a person. They also discover Izuku is immune to fire and can cover himself in his own flames to give him an increase in strength, but in return he can't shoot any more flames whilst using it. They discover Izuku's biggest weakness is not being covered in water, but if his target is in water, as Izuku can still use his flames if he is soaking wet even though the flames come from him but if there is water where he is aiming the fire would be put out.
Alright science stuff done
After the tests finished Inko and Izuku thanked the doctor before leaving
"Itadakimasu" Izuku said politely before digging into his katsudon at the dinner table
"So Izuku, are you still excited about your quirk?"Inko asked
"Yeah! I wanna learn how to do all sorts of fighting styles so I can be a hero!" Izuku said elatedly after swallowing
"That's my boy" Inko said whilst tearing up
After this they had a normal dinner
And that's a wrap to the opening chapter, showcasing Izuku's quirk and introducing Bakugou and Inko in the process
Next chapter will be the sludge villain incident and the 10 months of hell, although next school starts again and I may have less time and motivation to write, so I will try to publish the story with most of the chapters written
I'll try to update on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from now on so if you do enjoy the first few chapters of this fic then hopefully you'll keep dropping by
