It started as a drabble, but I ended up with more to say than I could fit into 100 words. Spoilers for Season Two "Safe" in the form of a quote.
Luck
You could create the perfect person inside your head, your ideal and perhaps if you were lucky you could find them in the real world as well. If you were really lucky, someone would come into your life that blew your ideal out the window, being nothing you expected but redefining everything you wanted and needed. They'd make you smile that smile.
Wow, looks like someone filed half way through your cane while you were asleep.
If you were really, really lucky, you would be able to tell them. You wouldn't keep it all inside your head for fear that your happiness would become their property.
Do you really think this is going to end well, for anyone?
House knows all about luck, because when luck is what it comes down to, it's one less thing to hate yourself for.
