Guardian Angel
He sat in a carriage looking out of the window, completely silent.
He watched while children, big, small, scared, confidant, bid their families and carers goodbye.
He smiled.
He watched as the pictures unfolded; happiness, pride, love, tinged with an impending separation.
Then, he heard it; the hurt, the pain, the darkness projected into his mind, and his gaze tracked it. There…
In his line of sight was a family. They looked much like the others on the platform to the eye but the boy could perceive the tendrils of darkness encompassing the women and child coming off of the aura of darkness that pervaded the family's patriarch. Completely surrounding the body of the small dark haired boy with the distant eyes…
Once Upon a Time, I was the saviour of a world.
I was the hope of a nation.
I was a boy (though no-one saw it); the boy-who-lived.
I defeated He-who-must-not-be-named, 'The Evil' that threatened the very future of the wizarding world, 'Lord Voldemort' who, once upon a time, was Tom Riddle, a boy…just like me.
Some say I left when I defeated 'The Evil', some say I died.
Strangely enough no-one seems to have come up with the truth; that now I am their guardian angel, comforting the children they ignore, the future they neglect, stamping out those small evils that make up the big ones…the ones they refuse to see…
The End
Evil is not one big entity, it's made up of lots of petty evils that manifest and grow when ignored.
Don't ignore them.
