Ash, once having settled the rest of his pokémon, set out to clean up the newest family member after the yolk it still had on its fur dried. With the newly cleaned, dried and fluffed up Riolu settled with a full belly, once Ash had given the baby its bottle of pokémon formula, Ash pulled out his watch to scan the baby.
Riolu Entry #447
The Emanation Pokémon
Riolu can understand how people and Pokémon feel by observing a kind of energy wave called aura as well as tell how the state of the environment around it is. It has a flexible body with enough power to cross three mountains and two canyons in one night. When upset or scared Riolu flares its Aura to signal to its pack members that something is wrong. It can use Aura to communicate with its pack without its enemy being aware of it.
This Riolu is male and knows the moves, Quick Attack, Metal Claw, Protect, with an egg move Aura Sphere. This Riolus' ability is Inner Focus.
Notes: This Riolu is under the classification Half-Albino as of May XX, XXXX. Be advised as a newly hatched Riolu it should refrain from any sort of training for the next six to eight weeks as its Aura Core settles and its bones and muscles become strong enough to train.
Ash let out a small hum and nodded before re-reading the entry once more. He looked over at the baby and smiled as he saw it curled up and sleeping, but he wasn't concerned about how much sleep he was getting and let the hatchling sleep. Hatching was tough work after all. He set out, as quietly as he could, to get the others fed and cleaned up before getting ready himself.
They needed to train after all.
After picking up his mess and recalling everyone, but Pikachu and Zorua, he picked up Riolu and tucked him inside his jacket to keep hidden from others. Though he had registered the pup to a ball in his name he didn't want others to see the defenceless pup and get any ideas. The only ones he trusted seeing Riolu at the moment was his mother, his other pokémon, Nurse Joy, Bill, and Oak (the elder).
Once Pikachu was on his shoulder as usual and Zorua ready at his feet he left the room and made his way downstairs with one arm under the sleeping pup in his jacket. The check up only took a few minutes, and to his relief, Riolu was whole and as healthy one of his kind can be. Ash supposed he did something right after all when he transferred his Aura into the egg.
Making his way outside Ash was quick to get a few supplies from the market before heading to a spot to train that he had seen the other day on his way into town. The area was near the water, but had a large grassy clearing before it changed to sand then water. There were a few rocks jutting out of the water which was ideal for what Ash had in mind for Horseas' training. After letting everyone out he dealt out what they would be doing for their training for the moment.
"Charizard and Krookodile, the both of you will be on the sand sparring. Charizard, work on your Air Slash and Krookodile work on your speed and dodging. Nidorino you'll be working with Zorua and Tyrunt you need to work on how fast you project your Poison Sting and other moves. When you are able to evolve you'll have the same problem as Krookodile with your weight so you'll have to get fast using your moves and upping your endurance," Ash said as he let the two larger pokémon move onto the sands to work, "Zorua, you're really close to evolving. Your fur is getting longer, your fangs sharper, and your temperament is mellowing out a bit, and Tyrunt you're also getting close to evolving. Hopefully with the three of you fighting each other it'll help with the two of you evolving."
Zorua let out a sharp bark and jumped a bit before running off to a part of the clearing that wasn't being used by the others. Tyrunt let out a small roar before following the kit with Nidorino trailing behind them. Ash mentally made a note to get to Mt. Moon after the cruise ship to find a moon stone for him.
"Ralts you'll be working with Doublade. You need a bit more battle experience and she's great with battling. You'll be evolving soon. I know it!" Ash said as he gave her a sharp nod with a smile.
Ralts let out a small bell like cooing sound as she twirled and turned to Doublade. The twin swords glowed a bit before the two girls of the group moved off to start battling. Pikachu, who hasn't gotten an order yet, let out a small sound making Ash focus on him.
"Don't worry," Ash told the yellow mouse, "You're not getting out of training. Horsea, you'll be working with Pikachu, out of all the others that are close to evolving you are the closest. You just need that little extra push to get you there."
The little seahorse let out a furious stream of bubbles as a determined look filled his face. Horsea had been looking forward to this moment. He could feel the energy under his scales just waiting the burst free and he had to agree with his trainer. He just needed that little extra push to cross the line to evolve. He looked up at the mouse on their trainers' shoulder and let out a little taunt that only served to make the electric type bristle with anger.
"Alright you two," Ash said as he chuckled, "Get to it!"
Pikachu let out a sharp bark before jumping off of his shoulder and jumped onto the rocks that jutted out of the water where Horsea waited. Ash chuckled as he watched the two for a moment before he let his gaze trail after the others. Ash moved to the side a bit away from the others, but still close to the water, to keep himself from getting hit while Riolu, who had woken from his after hatching nap, trailed after him. The teen settled down and grabbed his notebook from his bag.
He opened it to the evolutions page towards the back of the notebook and began writing down about Doublade and Riolu. Doublade, like Nidorino, needed a special stone to evolve into Aegislash and Riolu needed to be evolved during the day, but that wouldn't come for a while. He glanced up now and again as he wrote in his notebook to keep an eye on the others and just to make sure they weren't getting too rough on each other.
He also wrote down who was getting what TMs and came to find out he did get two copies of Scald and Ice Beam, he had misplaced the original two TMs, and ended up getting to trade a copy of each for Psycho Cut and Toxic. He also traded in his Hypnosis for Draining Kiss since Ralts already knew Hypnosis and he wanted to get her a new move to learn after she evolved.
Nidorino will learn Ice Beam and Toxic.
Krookodile and Tyrunt, when he evolves, would learn Brick Break.
Horsea would get Scald after he evolves.
Zorua would get a new move when he evolves, but he has not decided on what move to give him.
Ralts will get Draining Kiss when she evolves.
Doublade will get Toxic and Psycho Cut after training with them for a bit.
With his planning done he placed the notebook back in his bag and looked over at Riolu for a moment. The little pup was sprawled out on his back, napping once again, with his little belly exposed. Ash smiled as he saw little paws jerking a bit as Riolu dreamed.
"Must be chasing Buneary," Ash whispered softly before looking over at the others. He could see that Charizard was getting better at using his wings as well as landing as he saw his albino lizard land and take off to dodge Krookodile. The croc himself seemed to be slowing and when Ash looked down at his watch he saw that a few hours had passed since they had gotten to the clearing.
The teen let out a sharp whistle to get his pokémons attention, and accidentally woke Riolu from his nap, to call a halt to training for the moment. "Break time!" Ash called out making the pokémon let out various calls before making their way over to him. Ash dished out food and water to each pokémon and waited until they were eating to speak.
"So in two weeks time the S. will be docking here in Vermilion," Ash said as he watched them eat, "before it comes I want the four of you that can evolve to evolve. Also in one and a half weeks time, Ralts will be leaving us for a short time."
Ash had to stop as his pokémon let out loud calls, Zorua being the loudest, all the while his little girl kept chewing on her food. She and their trainer had a long hard talk about it a few days after Mewtwos' last visit. She felt like she needed to go. She was determined to learn from Mewtwo to help the other protect their trainer like he had done for them time and time again. She was almost ready.
"She'll be back," Ash said once they had calmed down, "She'll come back stronger than ever and when she comes back you all will be just as strong as she will be. I promised you all to get you as strong as you want to be and I keep my promises. After the S.S. Anne and getting the few items some of you guys need to evolve we'll be going after the last few gym badges we need, and these last few Gym Leaders will be some of the hardest battles we'll fight. I need to know if you're all with me."
His pokémon let out loud roars and calls before he could even finish his sentence. Ash let a smirk grace his lips as the sounds of his family rearing and ready to go graced his ears.
"That's what I'm talking about," Ash whispered softly to himself as his pokémon went back to battling each other.
The next week went by with everyone working their hardest. The little speech their trainer had given them had woken their fighting spirit and they were all just pumped to get to training. Zorua spent his time in the evenings after training back in the Center with Ralts as the days ticked by for her impending departure from them. Ash knew the kit would be just fine when she left and would be even better when he saw her returned to them. If he were to be honest about it he would have assumed that Zorua had a little crush on Ralts.
Tyrunt had taken to fighting Krookodile when Charizard needed a break to rest his wings. The royal heir pokémon had become quite vicious and Ash was quick to note that all of his soft neck feathers had fallen out and had been replaced by harder, sharper feathers and the beginning of his 'crown' was coming in on his forehead.
Horsea though spent most of the time under the waters surface. Ash didn't know what he was doing, but he let him be instead of demanding the seahorse to stay closer to the surface to train. For all he knew the seahorse was gathering nutrition for his impending evolution.
Pikachu had taken to training with Nidoran and Zorua when Tyrunt went off to fight Krookodile and Charizard, but Ash didn't stop him. He knew Pikachu had other fighting experience than what he had given the little mouse thanks to his previous trainer, which Ash was still looking for. He wanted to give a piece of his mind to the trainer for giving up such a wonderful pokémon, the same when for whoever dropped Tyrunt off in the Safari Zone after reviving him. People like them were the lowest of the low.
"Ash."
The sudden voice made Ash jump and quickly turning around he spotted Mewtwo just a few feet behind him. "Mewtwo," Ash greeted as he took a deep breath. His heart was pumping a bit fast from the scare. "I thought we still had a few days with her," Ash said softly as the cat-like pokémon moved to sit on the sand beside him.
"You do," Mewtwo said as his purple eyes looked over the pokémon. He was pleased to see that they were all doing very well. "I merely wished to spend a few days with everyone before Ralts leaves with me. I notice that there are a few new members," Mewtwo added as he spotted the baby of the group and Tyrunt and Doublade.
"Yeah. The only ones you did meet were Pikachu, Ralts, and Zorua huh?" Ash replied as he pointed out the pokémon to Mewtwo all the while naming them in case the creature hadn't heard of them before.
Silence fell between the two as Riolu moved to stand in front of Ash to watch his pack fight. His tail wilted a little as he saw Krookodile smack Tyrunt down only for the little dino to get back up and bite the offending appendage while Charizard came up behind the two and blasted them with a stream of fire. Ash watched intently as the two larger reptiles snarled and growled at the smaller reptile all the while pushing Tyrunt around. He wasn't a fan of Charizard and Krookodiles' methods to help get Tyrunt evolved, but he did trust them not to push Tyrunt too far or hurt him too much.
"He's about to evolve," Mewtwo told Ash as the two larger lizards backed off from Tyrunt. Ash stood up and walked a bit closer just as a blinding light enveloped Tyrunt. The small form of the royal heir pokémon shot up in height until it was towering over Ash by well over two feet before the light faded revealing the gargantuan pokémon.
The newly evolved Tyrantrum let out a loud roar that threatened the deafen Ash and the others if it weren't for Mewtwo protecting their ears. His scales changed from the grayish-brown he had as a Tyrunt to a brilliantly colored brownish-red with smatterings of gold and orange highlights dancing through the scales. The feathers that were once just around his neck moved to just above his shoulders to act like a cape and under his jaw that mimicked a beard.
Tyrantrums' largest teeth were easily the length of Ashs' forearm and along the length of his body was harder armor like plating of scales. On top of Tyrantrums' head was his 'crown' of bright orange spikes that glittered in the suns' rays. The large beast stood proud as his pack looked at him with awe and pride in their eyes. Normally to his kind he would have been the Alpha of their pack. The one the others turned to in need, but he knew better. He could get past that base instinct to have the others bow to him.
So it was with no loss to his pride that he lowered his head to the height of his trainer. He closed his large eyes and let out a rumbling purr as his trainer placed a gentle, warm hand on his snout. Standing up once again Tyrantrum let out a couple of growls towards the other reptiles that helped him evolve in thanks for helping him and he was granted two welcome growls in return.
"Okay!" Ash said bright and early the next morning after they got to their clearing by the beach, "Let's get to work everyone! You know what you need to do."
They only had a couple more days with Ralts and half a week left before the cruise ship docked. So far only Tyrantrum was the only one to evolve, but Ash was optimistic. The other three would evolve within the next few days or he would eat his left shoe. Ash had given Tyrantrum the task to get use to his body now that he was evolved and that he would be getting a new move to learn when he was physically ready to receive it. And when Ash could find a move for him to learn since he couldn't really learn any of the TMs he had on hand.
Today the other three would be working on evolving and seeing Tyrantrum evolve only made them more determined. Even more so was Horsea. He was the third caught of the group and yet he still had not evolved. As soon as he was released from his ball he began working on what he needed to. He swam far, fast, and deep. He shot water at the rocks the others would throw his way and he challenged the other pokémon that dwell within the water until he defeated every single one of them.
Except for one.
Far below the surface of the water was a tunnel that leads to a large cavern when he traversed it. The walls were covered in bioluminescent fungi that gave the usual dark cavern a blue hue to it as the fungi glowed. The ground, which Horsea couldn't get on seeing as he couldn't leave the water in his current form, was smooth from the years of water and sand flowing over it.
Sitting towards the back of the cavern was a pokémon he never thought he'd see there. A large Kingdra, scars covering its blue scales and blinded in one eye, lived there and just looking at the creature Horsea could tell that this Kingdra had some stories to tell. Day after day Horsea made the journey there and challenged the Kingdra there only to be let down when his evolution turned away from him. Horsea spat water and ink at the Kingdra angry that this being didn't have the fire to fight like all their kind does.
That was until today.
When Horsea made the now familiar journey to the cavern the Kingdra attacked him. Horsea dived and weaved his way out of the tunnel to the open water all the while the Kingdra was following him. It seemed the Kingdra finally had enough and was going to fight him. Just as he wanted.
Horsea dodged attack after attack while firing his own and the more experienced evolution dodged them lazily as it fired its attacks. To the smaller seahorse the fight lasted a long time and while he did get nicked with debris and attacks the little creature felt a sense of fulfillment. He learned just as much as he taught the older evolution and he could tell that the Kingdra enjoyed the battle.
The battle ended when Horsea felt the dam break inside of him and his body was flooded with evolutionary energy. He kept his eyes open as he felt the physical changes the evolution made to his body and saw the Kingdra stare at him. At some point he had to close his eyes as the light became too bright and when he opened them the Kingdra was closer to him, but showed no signs of wanting to fight.
The newly evolved Seadra twist, turned, and flexed his body before the older creature gestured for Seadra to follow him. Exceedingly happy, he did. The followed the old creature back to the cavern where the Kingdra levitated out of the water and onto the cavern ground.
Seadra watched as the Kingdra moved a couple of rocks and lifted something out of the hole the creature must have created. It was small and tied to a thin but strong cord of leather. When the Kingdra brought it over Seadra noticed that the item attached to the cord was covered in thick leaves. He was made to bow his head as the Kingdra lifted the opening of the necklace over his head.
The weight of the item was light on his chest, but there was something about it that screamed power and ancient energy. Seadra looked up only to see the Kingdra laying down, eyes closed, and chest still. Dark eyes widened as the realization that the fight he just had with the ancient creature was its last.
The Seadra bowed his head in reverence before leaving the cavern. Once at the opening of the tunnel that leads down to the cavern Seadra let out his most powerful attack to make it collapse on itself. No one or thing would disturb the Kingdras' last resting place.
Seadra with a light, yet heavy grief filled heart, made his way to the surface to see his trainer. The smile and pure joy that graced his trainers face made what had happened down there worth it. Seadra let out a deep croon as he twirled in the water to show off his new form.
"Absolutely beautiful," his trainer whispered and knelt at the edge of the water to place his hand on Seadras' cheek. He couldn't help but lean into the touch. He couldn't tell just how happy and how proud his trainer was because of his accomplishment.
"What's this?" Ash asked as he spotted the necklace on Seadra. He reached forward with his other hand as he moved the one on Seadras' cheek to cup the item in his palm as his other hand undid the thick leaf. Ash was careful not to tear the soaked leaf as he undid the binding and let out an audible gasp at what the leaf hid.
A bright orange dragon scale.
"Where did you get this?" Ash asked as he carefully ran his finger over the smooth scale. He made sure to stay away from the sharp edges before carefully binding the leaf back around the scale. His Seadra only let out a sad croon as he let the hidden scale drop back down into place.
Ash shook his head as he gave Seadra a smile. "Never mind that," he said, "At least you have it for when you are ready. Congratulations on evolving. You're now one step closer to being able to leave the water."
Ash stepped back as the other pokémon clambered to get closer to see Seadras' new form. The wide smile on his face softened as he saw the bond his pokémon had with each other. He hoped with everything in him that nothing would come between what they all had with each other.
