.Hey Nuggies! Well I really shouldn't be doing this, but here I am writing another fanfiction since I have writers block on a few of my other ones, and because this won't leave me alone. Here is your warning: this will be SLASH! I have decided though that this will not have M!Preg.
Main Pairing: AshxPaul
Side pairing: AshxGary (One sided on Gary's part)
Rating: M (to be safe)
Chapter Warning(s): None
Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon, it belongs to Game Freak, Nintendo, Creatures, The Pokemon Company, etc, nor do I write this for profit. This is for entertainment use only!
Fanfictionranger, the absolute cackle I released at your review!
Vxgt, thank you! I thought the rocket scenario was over done as well and I wanted to bring in Smart!Ash a bit into the chapter as well.
Mr Darklord, Hi, I do in fact use commas. I just don't use them excessively because too many commas annoy me, and I feel as though I would use too many if I upped my comma game just to satisfy you. So what if I don't use any other punctuation other than a period. I'll use anything else whenever and wherever I need to use them. I'm not proficient in grammar. No one is, really. I just use what I was taught during school. If you find that my fiction is too hard for you to read then you can leave since no one is making you stay and read this. No one else has brought this to my attention so they must be able to read my writing just fine. Thank you though for your review, but I won't change the way I write to satisfy one person.
Everyone else, please enjoy!
Ash let out a soft pained grunt as he settled down onto a blanket he had placed under a tree. He had picked this area out in the pastures purposely for the fact that there was a pond nearby and for the shade the trees provided. The stitches ended up pulling a bit on his leg as he went down, but he paid them no mind after he had straightened his leg out. He also placed a pillow under his thigh to keep the stitches from scrunching up.
Once he was settled he took out the journal he kept all of his pokémons' progress in. He had looked over Kingdras' pokédex information last night after spending some time with his mother and saw that the massive seahorse had learned Dragon Pulse and Whirlpool during his evolution. He also remembered that he did forget to get the entry for Eevee so while she was out exploring before they began training he scanned her to see what moves she knew.
Eevee Entry #133
The Evolution Pokémon
Thanks to the unstable genetics of Eevee, the evolution pokémon has many forms in which it can evolve into. The evolutions can be triggered by a change in it's surroundings, or by the radiation from evolutionary stones. Eevee is one of the most adaptable pokémon alive. It's known evolutions consists of Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. It is not known if Eevee will have any other evolutions or if they have yet to be discovered.
This Eevee is female and knows the moves, Bite, Last Resort, Iron Tail, Shadow Ball, Protect, and has the egg move Double Kick. This Eevee also has the ability Adaptability.
Researchers Note: If you or someone you know has come across an evolution of Eevee and it is none of the evolutions above please seek out your closest Researcher or call the Global Research Center at XXX-XXX-XXXX to see what you need to do. Thank you.
He noted it down in her entry in his journal, as well as a quick training plan for her, before he released everyone else. Zoroark shook out his fur before he began to look around for his little ones as he usually does when out and about. Doublade floated over towards him and gave Ash a once over before settling closer to him once she saw that he was injured. Charizard and Krookodile started a little match between themselves once they saw that they were in the pastures while Kingdra watched from the pond he had dipped himself in despite being able to stay on land now.
Vulpix, Riolu, Eevee, and surprisingly, Meowth began chasing each other around while Nidorino and Pikachu watched over them. Tyrantrum, his biggest pokémon, let out a loud long croon once he saw Ash and his tail started to whip back and forth, thankfully missing all of the others behind him. The ancient pokémon lowered his head a bit towards Ash and gave him a sniff before doing something that he had never done to Ash.
Ash looked up with wide eyes at Tyrantrum as his entire upper left side of his body was covered in the dinosaurs' saliva after the large reptile licked him. Thankfully it didn't smell horrible and he could wipe most of it off with his towel after giving Tyrantrum a scratch on his jaw in thanks. After making his hair sit down Ash called for all of his pokémon.
"Okay everyone! We'll be here for a while," he began from where he sat as Riolu climbed onto his uninjured leg, "as I recover from my injuries from the ship. We will train of course, but there is something I need to ask of you all for when we get ready to leave from here. I am quickly reaching the limits to how many of you guys I can take with me. I need some of you guys to stay here for a bit in case I need the space for another injured pokémon or to help the Professor transport a pokémon from one location to another. Is anyone here okay with staying for a bit? It won't be long, and you will be switched out with others along the way."
Ash watched as a few of his pokémon gave the others looks before looking at themselves, but what surprised him the most was the first pokémon that stepped forward. His beautiful albino baby let out a soft growl as he moved his tail slightly side to side in a somewhat hesitated movement. After Charizard stepped forward, so did Krookodile, and then surprisingly Tyrantrum.
"Are you three sure?" Ash asked as he looked between his largest reptiles. Charizard let out a snort before gesturing to the three of them and the smaller babies of the group. It took Ash a moment before he realized what Charizard was getting at.
"You three want to stay so I can focus on training them," Ash said softly, which gained a positive toned growl from Krookodile, his more volatile pokémon. "If you three are absolutely sure," Ash added softly after getting a positive reaction from Tyrantrum, "I don't want you three to think that you're staying here and never joining me again. Everyone will have a chance to stay here and switch with others of the pack."
Ash slowly got up, after getting Riolu off his leg, and wobbled over to the three. He gave each one a scratch where they loved it the most and gave them soft words of adoration and pride. "We aren't leaving for a while though so you three still have time to spend with the pack and myself," Ash said softly as he was ushered to sit back down by his worrywart of a Zoroark.
"For now let's start with training," Ash announced as he tried to get the sad tone out of the air and get everyones' mind on something else for now, "Krookodile I want you to begin water endurance with Kingdra and Kingdra I want you to work on maneuverability on land as you try and pelt Krookodile with your water. Charizard, I want you to work with Tyrantrum on your air dodging while Tyrantrum throws Ancient Power and Rock Throw at you. Tyrantrum work on how fast you launch your attacks as well as your aim."
"Zoroark, you'll work with Meowth for a bit today. She's still not completely warmed up to the others in the pack and you're one of the most friendly of the others. Spar for now and if you see she needs to work on a move, help her with it. Vulpix will join you too since Meowth has taken a shine to her as well."
"Pikachu will you help Riolu with the start of his training? Just the basics for now since this will be his first official training session, a few laps and maybe a bit of work on his moves. Doublade, Nidorino, Eevee I need to speak with you three before you join the others," Ash said ending his little rant before sending the others off. He relaxed back against the tree he was sitting by as Pikachu ushered a very excited Riolu away and his ghost, poison, and normal type pokémon moved closer to him.
"When we leave here," Ash began to speak as he grabbed his journal, from where he had placed it earlier, to open it to his to-do page, "We will hit a couple of places to get the items you all need to evolve. We'll first go to Mt. Moon to get the moon stone you need, Nidorino, before heading off to a place called Evolution Mountain. There we'll get the dusk stone Doublade needs and the leaf stone Eevee needs. We'll head off towards the next Gym battle afterwards. For now-"
Before Ash could finish his sentence his pokémon stopped what they were doing as Gary walked up to the pack. Zoroark gathered the smaller pokémon and ushered them behind snarling reptiles. Nidorino stuck out his barbs, which dripped with poison, while Doublade hovered in front of Ash protectively. Charizard whipped out his wings to make himself seem larger as Krookodile let out a loud hiss with a tail whip to the ground, and Tyrantrum bared his teeth with a low growl coming up from his throat. Pikachu let out a few sparks from his cheek pouches as he got Riolu over to Zoroark who placed the small pup in his mane.
"Gary," Ash said calmly as the brown haired teen stopped in front of the snarling creatures. Ash watched as shock entered Garys' eyes, but his face didn't show anything other than smug haughtiness. Gary crossed his arms over his chest and leaned most of his weight on one foot as he tapped the toe of his other shoe on the ground before opening his mouth.
"Well, well look at what the Fearow drug in," Gary said as a smug grin appeared on his face and he straightened his posture, "A 'trainer' that had all of his pokémon handed to him. Unlike you I actually captured and trained all of my pokémon. Can you say the same?"
Ash just stared at him like he was crazy. Yes he may have not captured all his pokémon with a battle as 'normal' trainers do, but that does not matter. Not to him at least. "They are rescues, Gary." Ash said softly and sent the other teen a glare, "They weren't just handed to me fully trained and ready to fight. They spent so long recovering from their injuries, both physically and mentally, and training to get to where they are at right now. Do not downplay their triumphs as if they weren't beaten or starved almost to death at all!"
Gary just let out a mere scoff at that before turning around to leave as if he got some kind of confirmation from Ash for whatever he wanted. "Smell ya later Ashy-boy!" he yelled, "If I weren't so busy I'd challenge you to a battle, but hey, we all know who would win."
Ash didn't say anything as he watched Gary walk away then let out a sigh when the other teen was out of earshot. He ordered the others to get back to training as he sat back down. His leg was beginning to throb so he dug out a bottle of water along with the pain medication after seeing that it was past the time he should have taken them.
"Alright everyone! Get back to training please! Doublade, Nidorino, Eevee go ahead and spar with each other. Work on stamina and endurance." Ash said as he pulled up a map on his watch to plan out where he was going to go after he was able to leave. He would have to double back a couple of times, but he didn't mind that. First thing he would do is head to Mt. Moon to get a Moon Stone for Nidorino. It was about time his first catch had his final evolution. After that he would double back to head to Evolution Mountain since it lay between Pallet and Cinnabar Island. There he would get the stones he needed for Eevee and Doublade.
He wanted to get the evolution items he needed for them before anything else so that the three that evolve have time to get used to their new bodies before any serious battles. Thankfully he wasn't planning on using Nidorino, Doublade, or Eevee in the Cinnabar Island Gym seeing as it was a Fire-Type based gym. He was thinking of using Kingdra, subbing in Tyrantrum for a pokémon on his team, Nidorino once he has evolved, Zoroark, and perhaps Meowth since she was honestly really close to evolving as well. If he needed a sixth pokémon he would choose Charizard.
On the subject of Meowth looked up to watch the black feline closely. He had asked Oak what the normal signs were for Meowth when they got close to evolving and she was definitely showing the signs. Her fur was losing the fluffy silk texture as she shed her kitten coat and her Koban coin on her head, while still shiny, was becoming more rounded and slightly smaller to prepare to change into the gem Persians had on their heads. Her paws were also becoming larger and her claws needed constant care seeing as she kept shedding them to make way for larger, sharper claws.
Vulpix was also close to evolving and thankfully she didn't need an evolution item to help her evolve. He had spoken to a passenger on the S.S. Anne, who had a male Alolan Ninetails, a few days before it had gone down and she said that when Vulpix was ready to evolve she would encase herself in a dome of ice before evolving if she wasn't in an area with large amounts of snow and ice. Ash wondered why they would need to encase themselves in ice, but the other trainer had no idea why they did it.
His egg, thank Arceus, was completely fine and whole. Both heart beats were beating healthily and all that was needed was to get the egg warmed up once again since it took a dip into the cold waters. He just needed to watch it closely until they hatch to make sure the egg didn't get any sort of mold on it from getting wet. He was told by one of the pokémon watchers in the hospital that mold on an egg could cause the little one inside the egg to get sick and not survive the incubation.
Shaking his head Ash placed the notebook he had in his hands aside and looked up to see how everyone was doing. Charizard and Tyrantrum were still sparring while Krookodile and Kingdra were quietly conversing for a moment. Ash could see a bit of damage on Krookodile so he didn't say anything to them about getting back to training. The trio he had spoken with before Gary showed up were still sparring with each other. Eevee and Nidorino were teaming up against Doublade to see how many hits she could take before switching.
Zoroark barked something out to Vulix, who had a small condensed ball of dark energy in front of her mouth, while Meowth stood by the tall fox panting softly. Her fur was all messed up, but her eyes showed pride and the will to continue on fighting. Ash did let out a chuckle as Zoroark began to teach Vulpix a dark type move and wished him the best to succeed.
Turning his head, Ash found Pikachu and Riolu a little further away from Zoroark and closer to the pond. His starter must have had the small pup running laps around the pond before taking a break. He watched as Pikachu gestured for Riolu to drink out of the pond before Pikachu started working with the little pup once more.
As Ash saw that everyone was doing well his thoughts turned towards the two absent members of the pack, Mewtwo and Kirlia. He had purposely not called for Mewtwo on the S.S. Anne despite knowing that his life was in danger. He knew the 'man-made' creature didn't like other humans at all and he didn't want to make Mewtwo uncomfortable by calling for him. In the end Ash was just fine and everyone was still alive.
He did miss Kirlia and he hoped that everything was going well for her. He wondered what new moves she learned and what she had seen, since he was sure Mewtwo had taken her around the world while training her. Has she met other Legendaries? Myths? Has she evolved? Or is she still a Kirlia? He had so many questions, but he knew that she would come back to him. They both would.
Breaking out of his thoughts Ash looked over everyone once again and saw that Pikachu was walking over to him with Riolu trailing behind him. The small pup let out a soft chuffing sound as he curled up in Ashs' lap. Riolu was dirty, sweaty, and his feet were wet from running along the edge of the pond. It only took two seconds after curling onto Ashs' lap for Riolu to fall asleep and Ash couldn't help the small chuckle that forced its way out of his throat. "Thank you Pikachu," Ash said softly to his starter and reached out to give the yellow mouse a scratch behind his ears, "Take a break for now. Training is almost over for the day anyway."
A yellow ear twitched a bit as Pikachu leaned into the scratch. The mouse let out a small yawn and ran a paw over his scarred eye before he began grooming himself. Ash watched with a soft gaze as he wondered if he really wanted to look for the person that left Pikachu scarred.
After all, Baoba had gotten back to him to tell him that Abigail Summers had gotten two years in jail for abandonment of a pokémon and when she got out she had to work 600 hours at the Safari Zone and every penny she would make would go toward the Safari Zone in reparations. After that she wouldn't be able to own or be near another pokémon as long as she lived. She would of course be able to appeal the last bit of her punishment, but Ash didn't see that happening.
Of course in Pikachus' place there were no cameras or eye witnesses seeing the person abandon the yellow mouse. There was no way to stick anything on the person because of that and it would take so long to try and track one person down worldwide. Ash didn't have the resources or anything to do so and Pikachu couldn't exactly talk to him to describe his previous trainer. As much as he would like to find this person Ash guessed that he would have to leave it be and move forward.
Shaking his head Ash called for training to be over for the day before getting up onto his feet and gathering his things. The smaller pack members, as well as Zoroark would be coming back to the house with him while the others stayed in the pastures. So after giving out treats and praises for a job well done in training Ash, along with his entourage of pokémon, walked back to his house.
His mother, Arceus bless her, had dinner for him on the table and offered to groom his smaller pokémon while he ate. She could see just how tired Ash was and it was no problem for her to help out her son.
"Thanks Mom," Ash said as he carefully walked over to her and placed Riolu in her arms. The poor pup was still sleeping. He gestured for the others to follow her to the bathroom while he sat down at the table to eat the still warm food.
With a full belly Ash carefully climbed the stairs and started to get ready for bed. He didn't really get dirty or sweat much so he didn't feel like getting in the shower. He also needed to keep his stitching dry and he didn't know how he would keep them dry while he was in the shower just yet. That was a problem to be solved tomorrow.
It didn't take long for his pokémon to come into the room one by one as they got finished with their baths. Riolu was first, followed by Eevee and Vulpix, who didn't really need the bath. After Vulpix came Zoroark with Pikachu and finally Meowth. Needless to say his bed was full even though Zoroark sprawled himself out on the floor where Ash had put a few pillows and blankets for whoever to use.
"Night sweetie," Delia said from the doorway. She saw her son, who had grown taller since the last time she had seen him, on the bed surrounded by his adorable pokémon.
"Goodnight mom," Ash replied back softly, "Thanks for cleaning them up for me." Ash let out a noiseless yawn as he burrowed himself down in his blankets. No matter the weather he always had two to three blankets on his bed.
"It was no problem Ash," Delia said as she gave him a smile, "I'll see you in the morning."
Ash nodded and waited until she had closed his door to adjust himself a bit. He had to move Eevee away from his injured leg and Meowth had laid down by his feet. "Night everyone," Ash murmured before his eyes slipped closed and he fell into a deep dreamless sleep. He didn't even wake up as a bright light filled his room for a moment before it faded away.
