3 Days Later

Misty Waterflower sighed as she walked back to the gym after going over to the Pokemon center to heal her team. She had recently been defeated by a young girl from the Johto region, who happened to own an Umbreon. This caused her to think about the kid with the Leafeon; Connor and how he hadn't come back for a rematch, like most trainers do. He seemed to be a good trainer, but went in too overconfident against her. She felt bad for what she had to do, but he wouldn't listen to reason. He sort of reminded her of Ash; when he first started off as a trainer. Not accepting advice as much or getting to overconfident in some battles and he was also sometimes reckless too

Speaking of Ash, she thought back to when she last saw him. He was in Alola at the time studying in a Pokemon school. To say she wasn't surprised the first time she heard about him being in a school of all places would be an understatement. She had to admit thought; he had grown into a far better trainer than the 10 year she first fished out of the river all those years ago.

Soon she passed by a building with multiple police officers surrounding it and curiosity getting the better of her ran over to see what was happening. A male officer saw her coming towards them all and held out a hand to make her stop "No one is allowed to be here" he said and Misty frowned

"What happened? Last time I passed by here everything seemed normal" Misty said

"I'm sorry ma'ma, but I'm not allowed to say at this moment. None of us know what actually happened" he said half serious and half hesitant

"Well tell me what you do know. I'm the Cerulean City gym leader and should at least get to know a little of what's going on here" Misty said with narrowed eyes. She was not planning on backing out and going home, when something was clearly happening

The officer sighed, but knew better than to disagree with a gym leader… he remembered the last time he denied a gym leader information and did not wish for a repeat of that experience "All we know at the time, is that some of the people living here say they've heard screaming and some weird noises the last few days"

Misty looked at the building in confusion and then back at the officer "When did all this start?"

The officer seemed to be thinking for awhile, until he finally answered "3 days ago. Although many say that before those 3 days, they could hear something going on"

Misty nodded as she remembered how this building was new to Cerulean and knew that people working there were all nice. So what caused all this? She knew that the only way to get answers would be to head inside… of course with all these police officers around, it would be tough to even get to the front broken entrance. "If I want to find out the truth about all this, then I'm going to have to come during the night. Hopefully, there won't be a night watch… either way I'll bring only 3 of my Pokemon, just in case" Misty thought and with that she thanked the officer for his information and left without another word. This left the officer somewhat surprised and hoped nothing bad would happen for telling her all this

Later that night

Misty found herself sneaking herself towards the of-limits building and the source of distress for some of the Cerulean residents near said building. The red head kept thinking about what the officer shared with her earlier in the day and shook her head as she didn't want to over-think anything without some sort of solid proof. She sighed in relief as she finally made it to the building and was happy to see no guards or Pokemon there. This made her plan much easier as she continued to stick close to the shadows, since you can never be too sure after all

She finally made it to a broken glass window and carefully made her way inside. She noticed everything seemed to be quiet, but she couldn't let down her guard just yet. Misty slowly took out a flashlight and saw that the wrong main entrance was a complete mess, as if a battle happened here. The main desk was broken into multiple pieces, glass was scattered across the floor with specks of blood and weird glowing green substance as well. Misty felt like this was a haunted house, with a couple of ghost Pokemon playing some pranks at night… but she still felt uneasy about all this and might admit that maybe coming here was a mistake. Of course, she couldn't just leave without some more info that may be able to help

Misty sighed and made her way even deeper into the building. She noticed that the deeper she went the more uneasy and scared she got. It was as if someone was watching her from afar and was waiting for the best moment to strike. Misty decided to let out her three Pokemon that she brought with her, if only to help calm her down somewhat

"Staryu, Starmie and Corsola" Misty whispered as all three water types appeared before her and took note of where they were. All three felt what there trainer felt; uneasiness and fear. They wouldn't let that stop them however from protecting their trainer from any harm that may come towards them

Misty took a deep breath and then bent down towards her Pokemon. She explained to them the same thing that the officer told her and how she wanted to find out the real reason, since it felt that there was more to the story than the officer had led on. Her Pokemon agreed to help her out as they surrounded their trainer and kept careful watch for anything suspicious at the same time

As they were walking, Misty suddenly heard a noise. She spun around to where she heard the noise and shined the light there. To her surprise, there was nothing, except for a door that was opening and closing for some strange reason. Misty hesitantly walked towards the door and looked inside. She saw many coloured liquids on the ground, with a broken glass case, shelves knocked onto the floor and computers out of order. Misty walked around and saw some tubes on the desk that had managed to stay intact. She picked one up and held the flashlight towards it so she could read what it said

"D-virus" Misty read as her Pokemon suddenly got tense. They felt as if another presence had joined them… question is; are they friendly or not?

Misty removed her red bag of her shoulder and took out a white cloth as she placed the tube in it and put an elastic band so it wouldn't fall out "Maybe that tube has some answers to all this" she said to herself and turned towards her Pokemon, which she realized were all tense "What's going on?" she asked them and heard a new voice

"Free! Free"

The Cerulean gym leader froze and slowly brought her flashlight up to see none other than a Butterfree, except this one was coloured differently. She knew it wasn't a shiny Pokemon, since she actually battled with a shiny Butterfree once under the ownership of someone called Emily. This Butterfree, looked as if it was sick or even worst dead… yet it was still flying in front of her with deathly eyes looking at her manically

Misty took a step back as she tried to put some more space between her and the evil Butterfree "This isn't right! I thought that no one was around here?!" Misty cried in her head, not realizing that the Butterfree was coming towards her

Corsola, not wanting anything to happen to Misty, jumped in front of the attack and screamed as loud as it could. The poor Pokemon, felt as the Butterfree bit it hard and couldn't do anything to stop the unbearable pain

Misty watched in horror as her Corsola screamed in pain and soon the Butterfree let go and went to try and attack its original target again. Misty wasn't going to not do anything this time "Staryu, Starmie, both of you use a double water gun!" she said as both star shaped Pokemon fired their water gun attacks towards the oddly coloured Butterfree

Crash

Misty looked behind her and saw what looked like Connor and some other male human, but both were in the same state as the Butterfree, who attacked them. She and her two remaining Pokemon looked for any way out. Unknown to Starmie, a Marill found its way towards the water type and tackled it to the ground while biting the gem on Starmie

"Starmie!" Misty yelled out in fear as she saw the gem get completely shattered. Misty couldn't take this anymore and returned her Staryu, fearing it would suffer the same fate as Starmie did. Misty, then grabbed a hold of her Corsola, hoping she could at least save it and made her way as fast as she could towards the door

She kept running, no longer wanting to get more information. She seemed to have plenty of it after all. She turned around and saw Connor, the older male, Marill and Butterfree all chasing after her. Misty didn't care for anything other than getting out of this horror freak house now!

Soon however, she noticed her Corsola start to change colours. Her face became pale, as it had the same colour as the Butterfree and Marill did. She felt it wake up and jump out of her arms as it growled at her. Misty hesitantly took a step back "Corsola?" she asked and next thing she knew, Corsola forced her teeth into her trainer's leg. Misty cried out at the pain; this must have been the same pain that Corsola felt and soon she fell to her knees

The poor red head slowly got onto her knees and made her way over towards one of the rooms. She made her way behind a counter and hid there. Misty could feel herself breathing in and out very fast. She searched through her bag as she found what it was she was looking for; her Pokegear. She dialed the first number she saw and waited. Misty hesitantly looked from behind her hiding spot and saw that no one was there for the moment at least. She knew she had to act quickly, fearing that she would soon become like Connor and those other people

"Hello?" said a voice

"Brock!" Misty said in relief

"Misty? What happened? Are you alright?" Brock asked sounding concerned

"I don't know… Brock, something's happening here in Cerulean, and it's affecting both humans and Pokemon alike" she said and stared at the bit mark her Corsola had done. It had started to bleed with some green specks in it and she could see some glowing green lines rising up her leg

"Misty, you're scaring me. What do you mean it's affecting humans and Pokemon?"

Misty could feel herself start to feel dizzy and knew she probably didn't have much time "Brock, I mean that no human or Pokemon is safe anymore… and I'm one of the victims" she said and her eyes started to close

"Victim? Misty? Misty!" Brock yelled, but it was no use… Misty was no longer conscious or the same red head he once knew

Meanwhile in Pewter City after Misty called

Brock couldn't help, but panic. One of his first friends had just called him and sounded like she was scared to death. Something was clearly happening in Cerulean… and whatever it is, it sounds terrible. All Brock wanted to do was rush over towards the red haired gym leader, but knew he needed a plan in order to help Misty out… that is if she was still… alive…

Brock made his way out of his room as he grabbed his old traveling bag from the living room. He started to pack for a trip towards Cerulean. He didn't care if it was well past midnight now, Misty needed him and that was good enough excuse for him to get up and about. He went over towards where he kept his pokeballs and decided he might as well bring a full team… especially since he didn't know what it was he was dealing with after all

Once he was sure that he had everything, he left a note for his family; telling them not to worry and to a wait for his return. He made his way out of the Pewter gym and onto the road towards Cerulean City.

His mind was elsewhere however as he thought about what Misty had told him, before she suddenly stopped talking "How could something like this happen and how could no one have heard of this either!?"

While Brock was lost in thought, a Pokemon followed him closely. It was none other than Connor's Leafeon, the first infected. It had already contaminated many wild pokemon and Brock would be the first human she has encountered since she escaped that god awful prison. She waited for the best moment to attack and kept her distance somewhat

Leafeon after awhile of walking, had enough and jumped in front of the former gym leader. Brock soon realized the Pokemon in front of him and frowned. He saw the odd colouring on it and tried to remember if any Pokemon had a colouring similar to this. However nothing came to mind and as such he decided he should check this out

Brock removed his bag and took out some Pokemon food, especially made for grass types. He opened it up and allowed some of it onto his hand. He held out the hand with the food for the Leafeon to take, not knowing how he might have sealed his fate

Leafeon licked her teeth and decided to play it smart. She ate the food, not at all feeling any flavor what so ever and then looked as the human before her, retracted his hand. He put away the Pokemon food in his bag and went to go and pet her. Leafeon however, didn't want this and as such she bit his arm hard.

Brock felt the teeth of Leafeon on him and shook the grass type away. He once again got his bag of off his shoulder and took out a cloth to stop the bleeding. He tied it up and looked at where the Leafeon was… only to discover it gone

"That was one weird Pokemon… Leafeon's have been known to not bite people… why did it bit me then?" Brock said to himself, but decided not to think of it too much. After all he still had to head over to Cerulean.

Of course, Brock unfortunately wouldn't get to Cerulean as he would find himself unconscious in the woods and when he would wake up again… he would no longer be the same as he was before

I felt bad for doing this to both Misty and Brock... but it was going to happen either way. Many of the main character will become infected unfortunately and so will many OC's and some manga characters too... I hope that this doesn't discourage you from reading this however
