It wasn't long before Lincoln and Akimi returned to base with the robot. However, Emil seemed to have disappeared after the Raiju was destroyed. But that was the least of their worries at the moment, as now, they had to face Lincoln's family. Upon entering the room, the met the Louds who were looking not too happy at the moment.

Lincoln:"Guys, I know you're probably mad, bug-"

Lynn Sr:"'Mad' doesn't even begin to cover it!"

Rita:"I don't even know where to start, Lincoln. You knew that that was an extremely dangerous situation you were throwing yourself into, and we were all worried sick for you!"

Lincoln:"I had to do something! They were getting killed out there and there would've been nothing or no one else to fight back against that monster!"

Lori:"Oh come on, Lincoln! There would always be something else! There has to be! People prepare for this kind of stuff!"

Lincoln:"But when they do, it's already too late, and what they do isn't even enough."

Luna:"Linc, you could've gotten yourself killed! You know how that would've effected us?"

Lincoln:"And you know how it would effect everyone if the city was left to be destroyed?! Our needs don't outweigh those of the many!"

Lynn:"Don't try to act like a hero, Lincoln!"

Lincoln:"I'm not trying to act like a hero! I'm acting like any normal person would act! Wanting to do something while feeling fear at the same time! Anybody could step in!"

Lori:"Not when it's again a giant monster! You were out of your league here and we all thought you were about to die!"

Lincoln:"You all saw that I was capable of handling this! The training I did, the skills I should! I get that you feared for my safety, but I had it and you all saw!"

Rita:"But this isn't a game, Lincoln!"

Lincoln:"I KNOW THAT! YOU DON'T HAVE TO KEEP TELLING ME! MAYBE I AM OUT OF MY LEAGUE AND YOU THINK I TREAT THIS LIKE A GAME, BUY YOU'RE WRONG! I know the risk, and I'm willing to take them!"

Rita:"But you won't! We're going home tomorrow! And that decision is final!"

Lincoln:"But what if this happens again?!"

Rita:"Ms. Nagamaki clearly has it covered from here, isn't that right?"

Akimi:"..."

Lincoln:"Oh? Just like how she had it covered today? No offense, Akimi."

Akimi:"None taken."

Rita:"She's smart enough to figure out, just as how she can get another pilot!"

Akimi:"...I don't think I want another pilot."

Lynn:"You can't be serious. You really want Lincoln to keep at it with you in that thing?"

Akimi:"Just saying. The boy does seem to have a gift."

Rita:"Well, I'm sorry, but there's no way I'm letting 12 year old son risk his life over all this! Lincoln, you're ground for 1 month! Wait for us outside, and tomorrow, we're going home!"

Without a world, Lincoln left the room in tears and anger. Leaving Akimi to face his family.

Akimi:"Just so you know, I didn't exactly ask him to help. He just showed up an ever managed to bring back up."

Lori:"We know. He's a stubborn one."

Akimi:"Brave."

Lori:"Huh?"

Akimi:"I think you actually meant Brave. 'Cause that's what I saw today."

Lynn:"Well, we're still not gonna let Lincoln be your pilot."

Akimi:"That's your decision to make. I have no problem with it. But it would be a waist. Lincoln obviously has great talent and it's not the first time someone of his age has served a great cause, let alone, an entire planet."

Lynn Sr:"Look, you're not gonna convince us to letting Lincoln back in."

Akimi:"I'm not. I'm trying to get you to think about it. And another thing, Lincoln's intentions are pure. He's not trying be a hero. Take a look for yourself."

Pulling up the screen, Akimi showed the Louds what happened on the news a few moments ago before they came back...

Newscaster:"And, just as the military began to recover the body of the Kaiju, two passengers had come from out of the mech that destroyed the beast. One of them recognized as renowned robotics scientist/technician, Akimi Nagamaki. The other, identifies himself surprisingly as 12 year old Lincoln Loud from Royal Woods, Michigan in the United States."

Reporter:"So, you are the ones who saved our city?"

Lincoln:"That's right."

Reporter:"Both of you may be considered heroes as of this moment. Maybe even famous ones."

Akimi:"Fame is not what we're looking for."

Lincoln:"This was about doing what is right."

Newscaster:"Well said, little man. Rest assured, that boy has a bright future ahead of him."

The Louds stared at the screen for a little moment while Akimi stared at them.

Rita:"This...this doesn't change our decision. I don't care how many people praise my son, he's not gonna be a hero."

Akimi:"And like you just heard, he doesn't want to be and neither do I. We both just want to what is right. You know, if this situation gets out of hand, it won't be long before your country is invaded by the Kaiju just as my country was...and I'm pretty sure America doesn't have the same technology as ours."

The entire family was silent after that, letting it sink in for a moment...

Akimi:"Think about it."

And with that, Akimi took her leave.

Somewhere in the city, Emil was walking down the street, smoking and growling angrily, having his golden moment stolen from him. He just kept thinking of ways he could get revenge on the kid. So many ways, yet so many limitations...

?:"Emil McCoy."

Emil:"Huh? Who's there?"

?:"Someone who's been interested in your line of work."

Emil:"Hmph. And what, pre tell, do you mean by that?"

?:"I saw how you were drown out of that mech by a little kid and let him get the spotlight."

Emil:"Don't remind. Be rest assured, he will pray for that."

?:"I would expect nothing less. In fact, that's why I'm here. I wish to help."

Emil:"Oh, really?"

?:"Yes. What if you were to say that we can offer you a chance to gain the popularity you deserve? Without the help of Nagamaki and her little toy, you can be a hero to this world. Only, if you're interested."

Emil:"I'm listening..."
