3 days later, Kanto region Viridian Forest

Leaf's P.O.V

My name is Leaf Green, Pokemon trainer and one of the current Kanto dex holders (Are there more? I mean more trainer have mostly likely left for their journeys after all… so maybe there are more). Anyway, pushing aside the whole 'are there more dex holders or not' theory, I'm currently on my way towards Viridian City to meet up with an old friend of mine; Blue Oak, Viridian's own gym leader.

It's been a long time since we last saw each other after all. He was always an annoying guy, calling me pesky girl or obnoxious girl… such a jerk, I swear there were many times in which I couldn't stand him or work with him. Hopefully he's changed, but I doubt it. So in case any of you are wondering where I am. I'm in the Viridian Forest, trying to get out of this maze. However it's sort of hard since the whole place looks like exactly the same with no road, signs or sidewalks. Nope, only trees, trees and more trees

As I kept on walking, I started thinking about how crazy the last couple of days had been for me. You see 3 days ago I had gone to Cerulean City for old time's sake… only to find it completely destroyed. The once beautiful city was no more; in its place was a city without residents and looked like a ghost town.

I didn't like what I saw that day, since I saw something that the TV news reports didn't show to the world. I had seen some people and Pokemon… dead on the ground with bite marks. Some seemed to have put on a fight since I saw some missing limbs, mostly fingers, a hand, an ear, or in some cases an arm or leg. What's worse is that some of those people and Pokemon stand back up and… I just ran out of the city and didn't look back. I didn't think, all I knew was that I needed to get out or else I would also suffer the same fate as all those other people and Pokemon

I was able to reach Pewter City after 1 day, but didn't stay for long. I still had the images fresh in my mind and wanted nothing more than to reach my destination. I no longer felt save anymore… hopefully Blue has some answers for me, since the TV report didn't reveal anything useful at all

After a few more steps I sighed in relief once I saw the road again, I mean I literally though I was going to be lost… until I remembered I could have just used my Wigglytuff to help me get out… oh I'm such a dumb girl

Same Time, Viridian City

Blue's P.O.V

It's been like what… 2 weeks now since that outbreak that happened in Cerulean City. Now we get reports of the same thing happening in Pewter and Vermillion City… it's only a matter of time before the other cities get hit. I mean really, we aren't getting anywhere with finding out what on Earth could have caused this or if there's even a way to reverse it. What's worse is that no information is being sent out for people and because of this, everyone is panicking

"What was that?" I thought to myself as I thought I had heard glass breaking all of a sudden. I quietly walked over towards my window, knowing that the sound came from outside. I pull the curtains away and saw what looked like a human body to be the cause of the noise. 'Why would somebody throw themselves towards a window?' I thought to myself as I kept looking at the store from my office in the gym and saw a crowd of people gathered around with curious looks on some of the kid's faces and looks of discuss on the adult's faces

I shook my head soon after, and was about to return to the papers I was looking at… until I heard a scream from multiple people outside. I ran back to the window and saw what looked like the body that had smashed into the window was… walking! What the heck?! I mean how on Earth can that even be possible. I decided to take a closer look and got out a pair of binoculars, which were conveniently close to me and saw something that made my whole body freeze.

The person, who looked to be a blonde girl with a ponytail, had multiple glass shards on her body, but that didn't seem to make her feel pain, otherwise she would have taken them off. Her eyes were an eerie pitch black colour, her face was all

"AHHH" yelled another trainer, as the girl literally jumped onto him and bit on his ear… ok that's just disgusting and gross. Multiple seemed to think the same and threw out some of their pokeballs and out appeared a verity of Pokemon. Each trainer called out an attack towards the girl, but it did nothing to faze her. Nope, she just shrugged it off and kept on walking towards the Pokemon and trainers

I was tempted to join in, after all a gym leader should help out whenever the city is in danger. However this didn't seem like something that wasn't your usual; give me your Pokemon and nobody gets hurt. Worse… I think this is what must have happened to Cerulean, Vermillion and Pewter… It had reached Viridian City and I don't think there is anything I can do, other than help out people escape from this nightmare. Maybe I should have made Red come the day I called him, would have been nice to have some form of help after all

Leaf's P.O.V

I finally saw Viridian City and smiled. 'Ha take that you dumb forest' I said to myself, happy that I was able to find my way out… even if I did get lost at least 3 times. I slowly made my way towards the calm city… only to suddenly hear multiple screams come from further inside the city, in fact it seemed to come near the gym… oh no Blue! I thought and made my way towards the gym as fast as I could 'Please be alright, please be alright' I said in my head

I finally made my way to where the screams originated and saw multiple people and Pokemon all attacking a blonde haired girl, a kid missing an ear, a few other trainers with missing limbs and also a few deadly looking Pokemon. Watching the scene in front of me, made me suddenly find myself back in Cerulean City, where I saw a similar scene and just froze up on the spot

"Leaf look out!" yelled a familiar voice, but I felt like I was rooted to the ground and try as I might, couldn't get out of the way as one of the dead looking Pokemon started making their way towards me. Luckily something or someone pushed me out of the way as I saw the Pokemon creep up on an unsuspecting trainer as suddenly I heard a scream, which snapped me out of my shock

"Blue?!" I said in surprise as I saw the brown haired gym leader on top of me. He got of me and pulled me back up onto my feet "You shouldn't freeze up like that… you could suffer like them" he said and pointed at a group of teens and adults who just lay their motionless

"This is just like Cerulean…" I said softly and Blue looked at me "You were in Cerulean?" he asked me and I nodded slowly, trying to get the images out of my head. 'Come on Leaf, you're stronger than this! You were able to get over your fear of birds! Something like a few dead looking Pokemon and zombie people shouldn't scare or traumatize me'

"Leaf, come on" Blue said as I realized he had started walking away and I ran up to catch up, carefully making sure not to get near any of the motionless dead bodies should they wake up

However a few steps later, Blue suddenly stopped walking and held out an arm as I stopped as well and look at him in confusion "Look" was all he said and pointed forwards as I turn my head and saw a young 10 year old trainer, lying next to his Totodile. Both were breathing hardly and I wanted to help them out, except I saw the glowing green lines moving up the Totodile's neck and on the boy's left arm… that told me that they were infected and would slowly become like all the other zombie-like victims

"We need to get out of here" I said softly, wanting to get out of Viridian and not see any more young or old trainers get infected. Blue seemed to be in agreement with me, but had a troubled look on his face "Trouble with that is that Kanto is under lockdown Leaf. No one can get in or out"

I felt like all hope was now lost… I mean if Kanto was under lockdown like Blue said, then there would be multiple guards at or near the airport and no ferries or boats available for travel "Then… what will we or really anyone else who isn't infected do?" I asked him with a worried face

Blue seemed to be at lost for words, and I wouldn't blame him if he didn't have an answer… I mean nothing we do would matter. Those infected Pokemon just take hit after hit after hit, and to make matters worse… it doesn't seem to affect them in the slightest, not even a super effective move affects them anymore.

"Mount Silver" Blue suddenly said and I look at him with once again a confused expression, I mean why there of all places?! "Think about it Leaf, there is no way any of those infected trainers or Pokemon could scale up that mountain with all those twist and turns. It's the perfect place to hide until we can figure out a way to get out of the region" he explained and I had to admit, it seemed like the best plan. After all, not a lot of people are able to reach the summit of the mountain

"Rai Rai!" cried out a voice menacingly, making me and Blue turn around slowly as an infected Raichu stood there looking at us with his deep pitch black eyes "Run?" I asked trembling in fear

"Run" he said right back with a serious tone and both of us took off like hyperactive kids trying to get to the next city in order to win a badge. I would have thought that the eclectic mouse wouldn't want to chase after us, but that didn't seem to be the case. No instead, it seemed Raichu had set his mind on us as he starting chasing us with incredible speed… Wait! Don't tell me that speed is also increased once infected too!?

We pass by multiple other trainers who seemed to have the same idea as us and started running away as well. I looked back and saw Raichu was now joined by a Pidgeotto and an Ariados

Just when things couldn't get anymore worse for us, our luck seemed to have run out as we suddenly hit a dead end. Blue seemed to curse to himself for letting us get caught with no way out and turned back in time to see the group of infected Pokemon surround us… I guess the only choice is going to be to fight them of and hope that none of them get to close to us. I took out one of my pokeballs and saw Blue do the same "Go Blas-" I started saying, only to get cut of as I suddenly find myself on a sticky spider web and stare at the incoming infect Ariados

"LEAF!" Blue cried out as he threw out his pokeball to reveal his Charizard. However, both Blue and Charizard had their own problems to deal with as they were in a fierce fight against both the Raichu and the Pidgeotto. I only had one thought enter my mind… 'Will this be the end for us?'

So I've decided I'm going to finish the Kanto arc of this story which will have 2 or 3 more chapters and after that their will be a time jump, and no I still haven't decided how long a time jump it will be, probably 1 or 2 months later. Anyway I swear this was one of the hardest to write... and yes I know I left it in a cliffhanger, but that's mostly because I don't know if I should have Leaf live or die (She's one of my favs, so it's a tough choice), I guess I'll let you guys choose what happens to her. Also sorry for taking so long with this, my laptop loves to be stubborn and would sometimes freeze up at times. Anyway stay tuned to see what will happen to both Blue and Leaf, plus a few others who will be introduced in the next chapter :)
