It had been about a week since what happened down at the airport. Lincoln wasn't the only one to lose the majority of a family, as many other mourned over though that they couldn't even bury because their bodies could not be found under the rubble. Sharing the grief that Lincoln has, Akimi took it upon herself to see that Lincoln's family shall be avenged as she officially adopted him. She took him to a place outside of Tokyo, a secluded estate high up in the mountains where they had a great view of the city. The estate itself was a hybrid of traditional and modern japanese lifestyle, having a traditional styled garden and the main house itself being like the hotel room Lincoln had back in the city. Inside, Lincoln sat down on a coach, with his injuries still healing from last week.

He hadn't said a word since then, and Akimi had allowed him to stay silent, understanding that he's grieving in his own way. His entire family, 10 sisters and two parents, gone, and last thing they did was fight. He couldn't even bury them. And although, he was grateful that Akimi has taken him in, he was still unsure on what to do next.

Akimi:"Lincoln."

Looking up, Lincoln saw Akimi dressed in a traditional hakama, still having her heirloom sword by her side.

Akimi:"I know this isn't easy for you. There's not really much I can give except a home , educational, other types of necessities…what little comfort that there is."

Lincoln:"…"

Akimi:"…But I can give you training."

That made Lincoln perk up his head as Akimi unsheathed her sword, with Lincoln seeing it with his own eyes for the first time. The black, cyberized kabutowari shined in the light of the sun as Akimi held the blade with both hands and presented it to Lincoln, who slowly and carefully took it in his own hands.

Akimi:"…I made my family's killers pay for what they did…I want the same for you."

Lincoln looked at her, expressionless, wondering where she was going with this.

Akimi:"It may not give you peace…but maybe you will learn to rebuild yourself soon after."

Understanding fully what she meant, Lincoln held the handle of the blade with both hands and saw as blue energy coursed through it. It amazed him and he felt like he could be warrior with the sword.

Akimi:"When you hold that sword, you hold an entire clan behind your back...your training begins tomorrow."

Then, she took Lincoln to his new room, with the sword still in his hand. First thing in the morning, Lincoln found himself in a dojo, wearing an orange hakama adjacent to Akimi's as they both held a wooden sword in hand.

Akimi:"You may be good with video games, Lincoln…but do you even know how to sword fight in real life?"

Lincoln:"…Yeah. Stick you with the sharp end, right?"

Akimi:"Well, it looks like I got my work cut out for me."

Lincoln:"Hey!"

Akimi:"Nevermind. Begin."

Already from how he moved could Akimi tell that Lincoln got some sword moves from tv shows and movies. He was actually not that bad at blocking, even if he was pushed back at almost everyone of her attacks. But when he struck, he was unbalance and too forward, which would've left him open if not for his quick reflects. And after that first round, Akimi now saw where she had to start with the boy.

Akimi:"Slowly. Attack slowly."

Doing as he was told, Lincoln slowly moved his sword to counter Akimi's movements. First, light attacks, then heavy ones, then learning how to stab with the end of the blade. His strikes did hurt Akimi, but she could see in his eye that he was emotionless, like the harm he does to her doesn't effect him. She knew he was holding in his emotions, still hurt by the loss of his family, and knew that if he kept them locked away, he will resent all those around him and he will be lost. Akimi needed for Lincoln to strike out in anger, to know what it's like to feel again. If he was ever gonna find retribution, he need his emotions to do it. From hour turning to days, was Lincoln trained in the same way Akimi was trained during his childhood.

Akimi:"Not bad for one who's never held a sword.

Lincoln:"Yeah, well...I'm a fast learner."

Akimi:"...Still, you're lacking."

Lincoln:"Lacking in what?"

Akimi:"Figure it out in the next couple of rounds."

The next few rounds, Akimi taught Lincoln how to use different types of weapons, swords, staffs and throwing weapons. She taught him how to use them the hard way and with every blow delivered upon himself, Lincoln feel his emotions resurfacing, just as Akimi had hoped for. He was getting physically stronger for a boy his age, becoming a force that no one would dare to challenge. The next time they sparred together, Akimi didn't hold back and Lincoln used all that he learned in his training. She saw him attacking viciously, using his anger as if it were a weapon while staying calm and cool with each strike. A part of Lincoln died with his family, but a new part of his was being born.

Akimi:"Open yourself up, Lincoln."

Lincoln:"Whattya mean?"

Akimi:"The emotions you're bottling up inside. They're holding you back. Open yourself up and release your anger."

Lincoln then was forced to block a series of quick attacks from Akimi, who saw him struggling, beginning to break. She almost had him as he parried and then counter attacked.

Lincoln:"That's not what a Samurai would do."

Akimi:"...I'm not a samurai Lincoln. You'd be wise to remember that."

It's true. Akimi never became full samurai due to the deaths of her family. They way she fought, how she taught Lincoln, were all she gained from her family and what she had taught herself. And yet, it was still not everything she taught Lincoln, as she managed to catch him off guard. She got him in the abdomen, causing to stagger for a second.

Lincoln:"...What are you doing?"

Akimi:"Teaching you. Now stance and balance yourself."

Doing as she was told, Lincoln ignored the pain he felt and held his bokken with both hands, charging at Akimi who parried every attack he made. Yet, as she did, she felt staggered, as if the boy was now throwing her off balance. He was gritting his head, the veins in his hands were showing, and with every time their bokken's clashed, bits and pieces of them were starting to fall apart. This time, he landed a blow and mustered the same pain Akimi brought upon him, but he looked exhausted and his breath was straining.

Akimi:"...Need to take a break?"

Lincoln:"No! ...I'm not done...keep going."

Akimi:"How long can you last?"

Lincoln:"Long enough. Let's go!"

Now, they were getting serious. Lincoln was fighting like a beast and could keep up with all of Akimi's moves, even the ones she's yet to teach him as their wooden blades started to give in. They moved as fast as they could, and pretty soon..

(CRACK)

Lincoln's bokken was the one to break. He held his head down while Akimi's sword pointed at his head. Then, he dropped down to his knees and Akimi could hear him chocking on his own sobs. She dropped her destroyed weapon and got on her knees as well, putting her on Lincoln's should as he looked at her with watery eyes. He was broken, she could see that. Had she pushed him to far that the emotion she wanted him to unleashed turned to nothing but sorrow? But through his eyes, she could that she has in fact released all the emotions that Lincoln kept inside. Now, he can start to rebuild himself.

Akimi:"...You're ready."

Lincoln:"...I-I..I-I am?"

Akimi:"Yes..."

Meanwhile, in an unknown location, Emil McCoy was with his new benefactors, staring at something as some other brought in a body bag.

?:"We found another. She may be the last of the siblings."

McCoy:"Put her with the others."

Opening the bag, it was revealed be the body of Leni Loud, which was broken, bloody and pretty much dead at this point, yet her heart was faintly beeding. They had her undressed of what remained of her clothing and placed her inside a capsule, which then connected tubes all around her body, including a oxygen mask as the capsule sealed and filled with a teal colored liquid. As it stood up straight, Leni's body floated up inside as the capsule now stood by the ten others. What Emil stared at was the 10 sisters of Lincoln that were buried alive underneath that airport. Emil's benefactor had taken an interest in them, just as Akimi had taken interest inthe boy.

McCoy:"So, these girls are meant to be our little test subjects?"

?:"Once we infuse their bodies with the Kaiju dna, not only will they fully heal in a matter of days, but will we then be able to train them, program them into becoming our second best weapons."

McCoy:"Hmph. And what will be your first?"

?:"...You, McCoy. The construction for your very own mech is already half-way done. And once we finish with these girls, they will become full Kaiju, and guess who will be there...to stop them?"

McCoy:"...I'm loving this plan."

He smiled wickedly as he stared at each and every one of the girls...
