Dawn's P.O.V, before explosion

Am I happy that I decided to use that string! I can't tell you how many times I've passed by the same place… at least 3 times if I'm being honest. At least I was able to get out of that forest in one piece… However now I was in none other than Viridian City, one of the cities here in Kanto to have fallen victim to this whole ordeal.

If I thought it looked bad and horrible on TV, then you can imagine what it feels like to see it in person like I am. So many deadly sick looking Pokemon and humans alike walking around like zombies. Many I saw, had limbs (1 or 2 at most) missing or had them bend in a way that isn't normal and omg… ok that's too much description and I feel like I'm going to faint just by looking at this sight before me

"Pip…" I heard Piplup say as I guess he also felt the same way as I did

"Don't worry Piplup. We'll get out of here in no time! Just need to figure out a way which doesn't get their attention, but how?" I whispered as I went over a few plans, but each ended up with the possibility of me screwing up one way or another

However, I didn't have to worry about a distraction plan as all of a sudden, an explosion could be heard. Both me and the corpse all looked towards the source of the noise and I felt my heart sink when I realized the place of origin in which the black smoke was emitting from, was none other than my destination; Pallet Town

"Piplup! It's Pallet Town! We need to go now, no time to waste. Togekiss go!" I said in a panicked voice as I threw my pokeball containing my Jubilee Pokémon

"Toge?" she asked as she saw my current state

"No time to explain! Just fly and hurry please Togekiss" I pleaded as both me and Piplup got on Togekiss, who nodded with a serious expression and took off to the air and just in time too. I looked down and saw that if I had stayed in my last spot a few more seconds then I would have become a victim to those infected humans. Note to self; can't panic when in an infected city like Viridian City. If I make it out of this still sane and not infected, I'll literally give gym battles a try! That's how desperate I am to not turn out like those poor unfortunate souls

Just as I was nearing Pallet Town, I saw another trainer who seemed to also be heading the same way I was. I couldn't make out whether they were a girl or a boy, but I could tell that they were in a hurry to get to Pallet like I was. Against my better judgment, I decided to get closer towards them and could finally see who was riding the big strong looking Charizard. The person was a male and looked like a carbon copy of Ash's childhood friend/rival, Gary Oak. I mean seriously, they could both pass of as twins!

As if sensing me looking at him, I saw as he shifted his attention over towards me with a glare "It's not nice to stare. Especially if someone is in a hurry" he told me, and I had to look away in embarrassment

"I didn't mean to… it's just well I umm" I said stumbling over my words

He glared at me as he looked ahead where we were both getting closer towards Pallet "I don't have time to chat with someone who looks like a rookie trainer. Stay out of my way and we won't have any problems. Deal?" he asked and before I could even utter a word, he was of like a rocket '

"Rude much. That guy and Paul would get along great with the way they act similarly to each other" I said with a harsh tone, even though he was no longer in hearing ranch

Meanwhile in Pallet Town, also before explosion

Daisy Oak did not expect the whole ordeal of these infected Pokemon and humans alike to reach Pallet Town so soon. It had surprised her to be honest

She was in the ranch when suddenly, the remaining Pokemon still left for transport all seemed on edge. When she looked around, Daisy saw nothing that would make the Pokemon act this way… the only thing she saw in the far distance were a group of humans all running away from… a group of sickly looking Pokemon!

Now Daisy could understand what it was causing the Pokemon in front of her to be on edge. The source: none other than the infected Pokemon/few humans that had reached Pallet… ahead of what the news report had said. The brunette sprung into action quickly and returned the remaining 6 Pokemon into their pokeballs and ran back into lab

"Grandpa!" she yelled as soon as she entered the living room

Delia turned to see the brunette looking very pale and wore a shocked and somewhat horrified expression "Daisy what happened?"

"They're coming!" she said, but upon seeing the confused faces of the two adults she continued "The infected, the dead looking Pokemon and humans. They're coming and we need to go"

Once both Oak and Delia heard the word infected, both sprung up from their seats. Although they trusted Daisy, they still went to look out the window. What they saw coming from the distance was enough to make them take action

"Delia, take Daisy and Tracy outside" Oak instructed, not explaining why it was he wasn't going with them. He had no intentions of allowing his family to get hurt and if that meant sacrificing himself to allow them a chance of escape, so be it. Besides he still had his promise to keep to Ash and wasn't about to break it now

"Grandpa you can't stay here!" Daisy cried out, as the thought of leaving her grandfather was something she could not bear to happen

"She's right. We won't leave you at their hands" Delia said with narrowed eyes, not making any move

"There is no time to argue, both of you need to escape while you still have time. I'll be right behind you both" Oak pressed, but unfortunately before the two girls could rebuttal the lab is suddenly hit with a powerful hyper beam

Back with Blue

The former gym leader sighed in relief as he finally reached Pallet Town, however that relief soon turned into shock as he took the scene below him. Pallet Town looked like a war zone; houses burning, some people lying dead on the ground, Pokemon battling what looked like the same deadly sick Pokemon he had seen in Viridian and smoke coming from… THE LAB!

Blue immediately went through so many what ifs inside his head, what if the lab wasn't empty, what if the Pokemon were able to be transported away… what if… his sister and grandfather didn't make it 'No! I can't think like this just let. They're still alive, I know they are' he thought desperately inside his head

The dex holder knew he needed to get down there if he were to find any answers, but he also knew that anyone who gets bitten by those infected Pokemon or humans also became zombie like creatures.

Suddenly Blue noticed some movement coming from the rubble of the lab, as it seemed someone was trying to get out "DASIY!" he called out from above as soon as he saw a familiar figure appear from the rubble of the lab

The older brunette looked up as she saw her younger brother was safe and out of harm's way. She knew that he would've come sooner or later and was glad for it. She hated to admit it, but she didn't have any Pokemon, other than her Chansey nicknamed Seych and her Clefairy, both of whom weren't going to be of much help right now

"BLUE! I KNOW YOU WANT TO HELP, BUT YOU NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE WHILE YOU STILL CAN!" she shouted as she saw Blue shake his head in complete disagreement

"NO! I'M NOT LEAVING HERE WITHOUT YOU OR GRANDPA!" he shouted back. However what both brunette's failed to notice was the fact that this whole shouting argument had gotten the attention of the infected Pokemon as they raced over towards the female brunette

"DAISY LOOK OUT!" Blue shouted as soon as he saw the infected Pokemon moving towards his sister

Noticing the incoming Pokemon, Daisy tried to get herself some distance. However because of all the rubble in the area, it was hard for her to move and as such as she turned around, she saw the infected Pokemon catching up to her very fast

"TOGEKISS, AURA SPHERE! PIPLUP, HYDRO PUMP!" a familiar voice called out as Blue saw the same blunette from before and her Pokemon attack the infected, stopping them from their path towards Daisy "Looks like I got here right on time" she said with a small smile as Daisy looked up at Dawn with gratitude and with the help of Blue, who made his Charizard land was able to get out of the rubble

Blue turned his gaze towards the younger female and sent her a nod "Thank you for the help… I apologize for the way I treated you back there… if it wasn't for you, my older sister would've been a goner" he said as Dawn accepted the apology, realizing now why it was he had acted that way before

"Blue! We have to save Grandpa, Delia and Tracy! They're still suck underneath this pile of rubble" Daisy revealed as both Blue and Dawn snapped their heads up towards her, recognizing the people who seemed to still be trapped

"We have to save them! Professor Oak and Ms. Ketchum will die if we don't!" Dawn exclaimed as she was about to run into the lab, only to feel someone grab a hold of her

"We need a plan. Those infected Pokemon and humans are going to be problem if we don't find a way to lure them out of the way" Blue stated as Dawn sighed, knowing the Gary look alike was right

"Alright then, what is it you got in mind then?" she asked with her arms crossed as he looked at her with a serious expression "Here's what we do…"

Alright finally updated this story :) Sorry for such a long wait and everything... just got distracted with the other stories I have going on as well. Anyway in this chapter we see Dawn and Blue meet one another with their first impressions of each not being such a great one. However they seen to be able to work past that as seen at the end where they along with Daisy will work together to save those they care about... however will they be successful? Also one more chapter and the Kanto arc will be done
